This place is awesome! Went here with a group of 5 and we all enjoyed our food AND the bill was just under $100. We got apps, drinks, and entrees as well so I think ya safe to say the prices are fair! The jalapeño poppers taste great although they're light on the jalapeños. The spinach dip and buffalo chicken dip are both addicting! They have a good drink selection as well. All the food items that we had were very good as well: pizza, chicken wrap, fish sandwich, chicken parm, and chicken salad. None of us had room for dessert afterwards, but they did have some options there as well. The service was good too. I've heard the wait is usually pretty long for service here but ours wasn't too bad. read more

I met my bff today at Galvin's today. I a lovely visit w great food and service. I was seated before my bff arrival. Told our sever that I haven't seen my bff in a week and 1/2. We would be there for awhile and if she could keep an eye on us I would appreciate and tip accordingly. Then I asked for a fruity refreshing drink, if she could bring me what drink she told would be the best. oh my god! She brought me a mermaid mule! My server knew her stuff. This drink rocked!! The food is pretty good but every time I have been here the service has been awful. I hadn't been for awhile and decided to try it again. Once again, the service was not good. The waitress rarely made eye contact with us and never brought us refills. We got side salads that were suppose to come out before our food and they brought everything out together. read more

I made a pledge a while back that I WILL NOT return to Galvin's. The food is OK, although with the lack of competition I guess it is pretty good in Georgetown, but the service is downright terrible. The manager of the restaurant on the day that I was in was by far the worst in the building, and that is saying alot. I would rather drive into Lexington, or even Cincinnati for that matter, than to step foot in Galvin's again. read more

This place is great! The staff is super friendly. There are a ton of televisions. The prices are very reasonable and its in a cool location in downtown Georgetown. Went to Galvin's last night with a large party from work. We met at 6pm and they were not busy yet. The appetizers were great, beer cold and service prompt. Then by 7pm the place was crowded. Service was slow, we ordered entree's and everything was horrible. It was like they slapped food out the door as fast as possible. The chilli was cold and tasted like tomato soup with beans, very bland. My Texas cheese Steak sandwich had very little meat and toppings in it. I ordered large. Everything else was worse. I hate it when restaurants can't handle a rush. Lunch here is always good, but last night may have put me off Galvin's for good. It was that bad. read more

Food is good. Service is pretty good but there aren't any busers so the waitresses have that job as well. I think it hurts their ability to serve more effectively. They are always friendly and they are owned by nice people who are very family oriented. I recommend Galvins! read more

I've eaten here several times in the past 6 months with my girlfriend, started off good till our last visit a week ago... service was slow, not very busy either. Waitress was ok, the visit quickly turned sour when my girlfriend found a dead fly in her grilled chicken salad. There was no manager present to take care of this horrible disgusting matter, either. The waitress barely seemed posed when presented with it. We called the next day to report it to the manager and she sounded unsympathetic and did not offer anything to make up for it. It's been a week now and I still can't get her to eat out, she just told me today what it was after a week of asking, now I'm leery to eat out... read more

We were a group of 14 and I assumed the service would be a bit slow to accommodate us all but we were all shocked. Our servers were on top of everything before we even had to ask for anything. The food was absolutely amazing and the price was relatively low compared to the quality and portion size. We will definitely be back on our next trip. read more

Salad was not good at all. We also ordered the chips and salsa which they claimed to be homemade. It definitely was not. I had to send my dinner back. I ordered the cheeseburger instead. Stopped here for a first visit as we are in this area a lot and kinda wished we woulda stopped else where. First the people were very nice and friendly and were accommodating for that I am greatly appreciative. This place big and it is very loud...I mean LOUD. Food on the other hand was not very good. Got fresh chips for an appetizer and they were cold and hot like they had been precooked and reheated. Italian pizza was greasy and mostly uneaten with wimpy crust. My bacon cheeseburger split right across the middle like it had been precooked and grilled over again it was very dry and lack any real flavor. The menu said fresh cut fries but I swear they looked and tasted like skin on frozen. Servers were many and it seemed no one was there long enough to voice any concern. 100.00 with tip was reasonable if the food had of been better. If you want to drink and watch sports there were many nice looking tv's. No Gluten free options I could find. Will not visit again. read more

Service means everything to me if you don't have good service forget it. In my opinion, Gavin's is a dump now... just a bunch of drunken idiots every time you visit. And the staff doesn't care 1 drop for you at all unless you're there to put $ in there pockets. Unless you're there to buy beer or alcohol and get drunk they don't what anything to do with you. The owners should be ashamed. Me and my family will not be returning,.. unless they get there act together. And got a staff that shows respect to the customers. It is a sport bar and we went with a very little expectation. A girl waited on us was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised. We had chile, salad, French fries and a Hawaiian pizza. All the food was fresh, delicious and homemade. I especially liked their pizza. read more

This place is what it is. Pub/bar food. Frozen fries, chicken finger salads on iceberg, dressings from a jar. Servers are usually inattentive at best. If you want a loud place to watch sports and drink your over-priced beer, this is it, unless you're on the other side of town. Then you can hit the Applebee's. They have better food. read more

Was excited to try this place, as we have been eating at chain places for most of our trip to Georgetown. Unfortunately, not very impressed. Waitress was not friendly, in fact we placed a bet on if she would smile. I won, she didn't. Anyway, on to the food. Typical bar type food, kind of uninspired. We got a pizza (which was fine) and a fried cod sandwich which was not as good. Fish was very greasy and there was two pieces on a large roll w lettuce (I use that term loosely). I paid .50 extra for fries instead of chips. They were frozen and not crispy. Price of food was on the more expensive side for what it is. Still looking for a good place to eat around here. :( read more

My wife and I and two teen boys had an fantastic lunch at Galvins. Service and food were great. Applebees type menu had something for everyone, including over 20 beers on tap! Total bill for lunch and 4 16oz beers was $45.00, not including tip. Owner was on the premises and very hospitable. Highly recommend. read more

galvin's has decent food, a good beer selection (very important), good prices and a nice little spot in a nice little town. i think it's a bit of a dis-service to compare it to applebees because it is a LITTLE more original than that - plus the beer selection is way better. our server was pleasant and didn't look sideways at me when i changed my order after she had already entered it into the computer. even got to watch the mighty michigan wolverines playing basketball on TV! i had a big old sandwich that was good so next time i'll have to try the pizza. i was in town for work and i like to explore restaurants a little and i'll try galvin's again - but i'll still have the 2X IPA. read more

Service was not as good as the food. Server was too busy doing other things. We sat the whole meal with no silverware, thankfully it wasn't a necessity. After waiting over an hour for sandwiches, our food came out ice cold. The managers refused to acknowledge the mistake, and instead blamed the poor performance on the recent move. Living in Georgetown, our options are kind of limited on where to go for a night out but my wife and I always lime going to Galvins. Despite going there on 3 different occassions and them running out of whatever we ordered, we still continue to go back because it is a nice environment, good (basic) American food selection, average prices, and the service is generally where it should be. They have 2 projectors to watch the game or race if you are going for that along with a couple plasmas around the bar. This is ideal for any husband who has a short coversation attention span such a myself. read more

This is GREAT!!!!!! They made us feel right at home. The service is awesome. The chicken wings were some of the best I have ever had. The bacon cheeseburger was a perfect size, and tasted great. My mom had the reuben sandwich, and she really liked it. The Kentucky Ale has a nice smooth taste, and it also goes perfectly with the wings!!!! It has a bar feel, but it is also very family friendly. Lots of tv's to watch sports. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would.
