First Korean food in our new home
    Katherine F.

Wow this food was very good. We were downtown and looking for some Asian food for dinner. We saw this menu and wanted to give it a shot. Everything was delicious. We were easily able to get a table for 2 and the restaurant did not get overcrowded while we were there. There are displays of Korean television and music on the walls. We got the chicken with rice cake In gojuchang (can't remember the name) with added cheese if course. So flavorful. Spice level was perfect. We got the crispy dumplings and fried seaweed rolls. Both were so good and had a great crunch. You are able to contact your server from a button on your table which rings like a doorbell. We also tried their new melon soju and it was so refreshing. Definitely want to come back!

Oh I am so happy this was walking distance! I love downtown Spokane! I haven't been here in over a year or so, it's the second time I spent hours thrifting, and worked up an appetite. As you may know I LOVE Korean, and it's only right [for me] to start with soon dubu aka soft tofu stew- I got BEEF. It was simple and SO DELICIOUS! Usually I love a seafood blend, if they ever add this option it would be uhmazing. The egg was jammy, big chunks of silken tofu, I like how the beef was in small bits and not too many green onions. I ATE THE ENTIRE BOWL. The purple rice is dark and yummy, simple, classic banchan of seaweed salad, radish strips, kimchi and bean sprouts. I will definitely be back! 감사합니다

    Full Menu!

Heres the full menu! I noticed there wasn't a full menu in the reviews when I visited

Tip: make a reservation Stopped by with a friend and her son for lunch on a weekday. We didn't think to make a reservation but this place is THAT popular so better safe than sorry. It's easy to do online! Simple and tasty Korean food! As someone who grew up with Korean food (half korean) I thought the rice and kimchi were excellent, which of course I'm going to critique ;). We ordered quite a spread and everything was deliciously prepared. Excellent friendly service from what looks to be a family run business. Our servers were so friendly. They had some computer issues at one point during the service which I thought they handled very elegantly. The interior is smaller but nicely laid out and clean. I can see them needing to expand in the future if they remain as popular as the day I dined!

Great portions of food, ate a ton and good variety of sauces/spices to add in, busy place with great workers

Everything was good, but not great. We got the Korean pancake, it was yummy but not fantastic. Little soggy, immediately fell apart. Then we got the snow cheese wings, which was recommended to us. They were okay. Not something I would get again. My husband got the bibimbap with added bulgolgi. He said it was "mid" compared to the others he has had before. Very sesame heavy. I got the spicy pork bulgolgi and it was yummy but I got quite a bit of meat cuts that were unchewable. The banchan was nothing special. Their purple bean rice was yummy. We got the dalgona latte and a boba. Both sweetened with a brown sugar syrup. Very sugary, but yummy. Service was also nothing special. The lady in the glasses approached our table multiple times with something in her mouth, which was kinda off putting that she was chewing something while talking to us. Ambiance was fun, clean, cool decorations. That was the best part. Overall it was good, but I don't think I'll be back. Glad to have another Korean spot in Spokane. I wish them lots of luck on their business!

My husband and I made reservations for 7 PM and arrived right on time. We were greeted by a waitress who asked us to wait in the waiting area while our table was being prepared. Another party of two arrived after us and was also asked to wait. After about 15 minutes, the waitress asked both parties to follow her, and she seated us next to each other. She gave us a quick overview of the ordering process (pressing the button at the table). After browsing the for a while menu, we pressed the button to place our order. The waitress returned to bring water for both parties, then stepped away to greet a new walk-in group without reservations, whom she promptly seated next to us. When I let her know we were ready to order, she reminded us to press the button--which we had already done--so she took our order then. The interaction felt a bit off--almost like we were an afterthought. Perhaps she was feeling overwhelmed or is still getting into the rhythm of things, as I understand the restaurant is new. That said, the rest of the experience went smoothly. A different waiter brought our drinks and seemed more experienced. Our food was delivered by the chef (I believe), who was incredibly kind and engaging. The bulgogi and pork belly were both tasty and well-prepared. I'm giving 4 stars because the food was good and the restaurant is still new. I'm hopeful that with time and training, the service will match the quality of the food.

Omg Gangnam Sytle Korean food is absolutely DELICIOUS, and I cook Korean so it's so delicious. I loved the Cheesey Wings, even got an order togo it was so good! The Service was Excellent Calab was fabulous and his Father was so sweet. The Spicy Pork I took it togo because we were so full from the other things we order. We order the Spicy Chicken dish that they reheat on your table which is super duper cool. Dad got the Spicy wings but ate my Cheesey ones more then his. So ya'll run down there and get some of this AMAZING AWESOME AND FANTASTIC KOREAN Food

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

This was a rough visit…read more They had two large parties reserve a very large table inside and the entire patio outside on a very beautiful Friday evening. Which was a bummer, but not a big deal. We ended up sitting at the bar when the service was super slow. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. I ordered a margarita and my friend a blackberry Collin's. Bartender accidentally swapped our drinks. We got it figured out after we both tasted them and thought something was off. We started with the beet hummus. That was probably the best thing we ordered, but even that wasn't great. The hummus was lacking flavor. I ordered the sweet and spicy pork belly sandwich for my entree and it was... gross. The pork belly strips that were in it were basically really thick slices of bacon, not crispy at all, and SO SO FATTY. It was, awful. I was really disappointed. Fries were good though. The bartender asked if there was something wrong with the sandwich because I didn't want a box and only one bite. I told her I really just didn't like it. She took it off the bill without hesitation. Which was very kind and also makes me wonder if I'm not the first one to be disappointed in this sandwich. My friend got the lemon herb grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was "alright". It was a nice time out with a friend, but I probably won't go back. I will definitely go to Cascadia, their other restaurant though. That menu is amazing and never disappoints.

Our appetizer and entrees arrived together, and the appetizer was lukewarm, which made it seem like it had been sitting for a while. My husband asked two different servers for ranch and never received it. Later, our server offered another drink while multiple earlier requests had still gone unaddressed. When we finished eating, both a to-go box and the check took an unusually long time to arrive. What made the experience particularly frustrating was seeing our server spending significant time chatting with other patrons while requests at our table were being forgotten. As we were leaving, we also observed the hostess dumping leftover liquids and food waste into bushes near the outdoor seating area, which seemed unprofessional. The food and drinks were genuinely good, and we wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the service issues overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal. Based on our experience, the lower-star reviews mentioning slow service appear to reflect a consistent problem.

It looked like they were using olives to try to cover up how the dish actually looked, which was mushy and gross. Somehow it tasted worse than it looked. The BLT had scant bacon, tons of lettuce, a few pink flavorless tomato slices and tons of bread. It fell completely apart due to not enough mayo. All I tasted was dry day old bread. The waitress kept leaning over a booth wall and across me, to present things instead of walking around a few steps to the table to complete service. She literally was knocking things off my plate in order to keep leaning over the booth wall to deliver things. She then would just laugh and continue this weird reach thing for anything else she brought including the check. It was really bizarre. The final audacity was the total of our lunch which ended up over $40. It wasn't worth $4. I usually give an establishment a few trys before giving up on them but in this case we will never be back.

The railcar has a great retro vibe and visitors can choose between bar seating and table seating. [Menu]: Yelp's top recommended items include Eggs Benedict and Chicken-Fried Steak. The hashbrowns were absolutely heavenly - crispy on the edges and moist on the inside. It was hands down one of the best hashbrowns I have ever had. The gravy was silky smooth. And holy crap the biscuit was a home run - ultra fluffy + amazing tasting jam (not overly sweet). The portion was so large that I had enough leftovers for the next day. *** It was an unexpected find in Spokane and absolutely S-tier for both food quality and service. In fact, I think the food here is better than many classic and upscale breakfast spots in Los Angeles. Absolutely a must-visit in Spokane.
