Food-"I only waited 5 minutes" for my meal! "It was already prepared"! And it showed. The owner suggested the pork bellies as apposed to the plain pork, because he said they have more flavor. The meat had very little flavor!, and the meat was tuff. It was stale.The sauce over powered the flavor of the meat. Lots and lots of sauce!! I'm sorry to be so blunt but, the kimchi was bad. There were 4 or 5 kinds. I've had good Korean food in California. -Not trying to be a snob-, but jeeez. You expect kimchi to be spicy...some flavor, at the very least. You call what I ate Bulgogi! I didn't know they made it with pork. So I tried it; mistake. I could have had a feast a Taco Bell for that price lol. Didn't give one star because the guy was really nice. I had to give this review "to be honest". You guys are a business. Each customer should be just important as the next. I may have gotten a bad meal. Maybe not all are like that. But I'm saying, you can't expect to serve "ready made meals" that have allegedly been sitting for hours in the pot. Then expect your customers to pay full price. Incredible service and incredible meal! This was our second attempt at eating here. The first time was on a BUSY Saturday night and every table was full + a line. That is when we knew we needed to eat here someday. So we decide to visit another time and today was the day! We came around 5pm Friday night and got seated immediately. So glad I found this spot right before flying back from Spokane. I also really wanted the kalbi tang but ended up on the tofu soup. This tofu soup was unique to me since the tofu was more firm and also cubed. I'm use to having soft tofu. The beef was actually super tender and like a brisket vs chunks of beef. The broth was great though, flavorful and not salty. The banchan was alright, I've had better. Overall, a good experience and I'd be back. Food: I ordered beef tofu soup. The flavor of broth was interesting but the beef tasty. I was disappointed with the banchans... I'd say half of them actually had flavor. Even more odd, we couldn't get refills on all banchans and only a select few were refillable. Service: I came with a friend just before the dinner rush. There were about 4 other occupied tables and 10 free tables. We still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. We waited another 15 minutes for our drink order and another 15 minutes to place our order. There were two employees, one female and one male. When the female finally came to take our order, we felt incredibly rushed and couldn't ask questions to get more insight. Ever since the owners changed the food is not good anymore. We stopped coming for over a year. We thought we would try it again and ordered takeout. I ordered kalbee and 2 bibimbop. She tells me that they only have 1 bibimbop left (what???)I was very confused. I asked her how could they have only 1 left. I asked do they not put some rice, vegetables, egg, and some beef on top. I got the soft tofu soup, which I absolutely loved. The staff working was extremely nice and when I ordered my soup they even clarified what level of spiciness I would like. I chose to go for a 2 star spice level so that I could still enjoy the flavors of the dish. The soup obviously contains soft tofu as well as an egg, but the restaurant also allows you to add one thing of your choice. The options were vegetables, kimchi, beef, seafood, and fish egg. I chose the beef, and it paired nicely with the soups flavor. The soup is served with a side of rice. The complimentary Ban Chans were also very delicious. The kimchi was definitely not as fermented as others I had, so it had more of a sweeter flavor, but it was still very tasty. We've driven by this place often but just stopped for the first time tonight. We were greeted and shown to a booth right away. Is the interior beautiful? Not really, but it's fine. We ordered stir fried tofu that comes with onions and some veggies in a dark, semi-sweet sauce. Plus steamed rice and several little condiments bowls (ban Chan) with kimchi, cucumbers, and more. The tofu dish wasn't huge but was plenty to share. We always order a 1 star at a new restaurant because you don't know how hot it will be. Next time we'll try a 2 star. We also ordered yakisoba with chicken and there were also veggies you could identify. Very good. They have a nice take out menu. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THEIR FOOD! We first came to I Love Tofu with my family that was visiting us in Spokane. We were greeted and served by this very polite lady and we never stopped going. I have tried a lot of their food but their Bibimbop trumps it all for me. It is a really nice place that ranges from busy to quiet but highly recommended! My only thing is it is sometimes dirty but that has never stopped me. read more

They called 911 on myself and my daughter for complaining about inedible food. And demanded I pay for it. Customer service under this new ownership is beyond acceptable, the reviews don't lie. House of Seoul in Airway Heights is your best bet!! I've been eating here for years, and have promoted this business more than any restaurants I've dined at. Tonight I ordered food for me and my daughter and received the worst tasting pork bulgogi in my life! It was inedible. I mentioned it to the server, Cherry, and politely asked for the chicken instead and I will pay for the difference, or for it to be remade, or be taken off my ticket. She tried to argue and say they are made different and the chicken is not marinated only the beef and pork is marinated. I'm not dumb, I am a 20yr career chef to know you marinate bulgogi... it even says it on their menu. She declined to make any adjustment. The manager Leo then comes out demanded that it is my order and I WILL pay for it. After going back and forth with him he told me to sue him if I don't like the food. I finished my meal washed my hands and went up to pay my ticket, and Leo was on the phone with 911 giving them my description and daughter's, saying I'm am refusing to pay after I ate more than half of the food(fat lie) I asked to speak with the operator and did so. Absolutely terrible service! I was looking forward to trying this place and I arrived at 8:00 pm to eat. I was told by the server that I could only order to go after 8 pm (the restaurant is open until 9 pm). I told her it is just 8 pm now. She said she doesn't make the rules and I can only order food to go. I asked if I can order to go and sit down and eat at a table. She said no. I said you are willing to lose a customer over a minute on the clock? She said the owner makes the rules and she has to follow them. I walked out and will never go back. Very poor business decision. But I will also say that eating here is very expensive and if I am given the option to eat at Korean restaurants in Airway Heights that are much more affordable, I will choose those in the future. My daughter's fried rice had frozen mixed peas and carrots in them, and the gyoza were run of the mill ones from a frozen bag you can get at any asian market. Stopped by on a weekday and the parking lot was empty. We came in and the server was super welcoming but unfortunately it was kinda warm inside, however it was a really hot day so I can't blame that all on them. We were really craving some Asian cuisine on our drive through Spokane and stumbled upon this Korean restaurant that had your standard a la carte KBBQ, tofu soup, bibimbap, and a variety of comforting Korean soups. I got the Galbi Tang and my boyfriend got a chicken yakisoba. The Galbi Tang satisfied my soup craving, and I was skeptical at first about my boyfriend's chicken yakisoba, but it also turned out to be pretty good! Overall, I would recommend if you're passing by Spokane and craving some decent Korean food. read more

I have been searching for good Korean food ever since I moved to Spokane and I have finally found it! I Love Tofu is the only place I go out to eat for lunch now when I work in that area once a week. It's almost a tradition now where I work North and then plan on I Love Tofu for lunch. Their lunch special is amazing, so much food for such a great price! The sides are unlimited and the portions are large. Only difference between lunch and dinner is that you get a soup at lunch, while dinner has an even larger portion with a bigger menu as well. The service is amazing here, as they are always checking if you need more sides or rice. And the restaurant is relatively clean for what it looks like on the outside, but don't let that deter you from going in! If you like Korean food, you definitely need to try this place! It is hard to miss while driving north on Division with its huge sign. Look out for them on the right, a little further north from the Northtown mall. read more

Overall, this was a pleasant dining experience minus the fact that I didn't know what any of the food on the menu meant. I had to ask the waiter a lot to help me. That's probably the only reason why I subtracted a star. The food- I got the spicy pork bulgogi. It was super delicious and I loved eating it with the rice. My mom got sweet potato noodles with beef soup. She really enjoyed it except for the fact that there was a lot of beef and not a lot of noodle. My dad got spicy kimchi tofu soup. It had pork in it. Again, his main complaint was there was a lot of meat, and not a lot of tofu. My cousin got Dolsot Bibimbap, which is rice with many different things to stir in. She got the version that was in a hot stone bowl, making it warmer. My sister got chicken fried rice. She loved the meat and this time, the portions were perfect. She loved the flavors as well. The service- Pretty typical service, the waiter was a little busy, kinda rushing around everywhere, but it was still a pleasant dining experience. Our waiter was very helpful in translating the menu. I do simply crave this spot. The owners are amazing and the staff is so friendly and attentive to their customers, it does truly feel like home. I love Asian cuisine and really have fallen in love with Korean food too. The restaurant smells heavenly when you arrive and there are such amazing aromas that you know just smell of home cooked food. The spacious dining area makes it a great place to eat with friends or family. The hot tea is tasty, and cozy whilst the miso soup is always a plus for me. I love miso! The first time I had lunch here we had the pork belly dish and it was just insanely tasty. Not too spicy, but flavorful and tender. I love pork belly to a fault so this was a great dish. The second time was bulgogi and it hit the spot after a day roaming the farm. The egg was placed perfectly over delicious eats that are still a comfort food craving of mine after all this time. I was waiting for them to get an order and was already waiting for 10 minutes - was looking at the menu and noticed they used white out and as a curious person I wanted to see how much the price went up. I removed some (a little bit) of the white out not thinking much of it. While I was placing my order another older worker came and took the menus from us - came back and scolded us for the white out.. which I get, but was so rude about it and rolled her eyes as she walked away. She went back to the cash register - then LITERALLY pulled out her white out that took 2 seconds to put back.... I could feel her staring at us eat and could feel the tension from her. I do think the food was bad- but a bit salty. Don't think the prices were worth the amount of food you got... Also would like to note we had to wait 30 minutes to pay, saw around and there were only 3 other people than us. She didn't ask us if we needed the heat turned off, even though some of the dishes weren't fully cooked. The most frustrating part was, while my friend and I were chatting and discussing whether the Korean food in this restaurant was authentic, the owner eavesdropped on our conversation! It was very rude! The owner immediately yelled at us. Apparently, she had been eavesdropping on our conversation! Overall, the experience was really bad! The taste wasn't great either! I don't understand people here in Spokane. Several people told me to check out this place. I'm new to Spokane so I listened to them and took my family to this place. I gotta say, very disappointing and not worth the hype. Expensive, small selection, small portion, long wait time. Food was subpar and definitely couldn't justify the price. Even a normal Korean food cart in Portland can beat this place. I talked to a Korean friend here yesterday and she told me to avoid this place, so I'm not the only one who feel the same way about them. My kids are peering over my shoulders ensuring that I give this restaurant 5 stars. They loved the kimchi fried rice and the Kalbi. Gyoza superb as well. Soon dubu was authentic. It's awesome to see more Korean food in Spokane! We were just driving by and saw this gem. The seafood pancake was crunchy on the outside and chewy inside, exactly the way we like it. I showed up there tonight and a lady was frantically shooing me and my husband away from the building. on the site it shows that they didn't close for another hour and a half. Absolutely ridiculous.
