File this under the most unique dining experience ever. This truly hidden gem which is actually a hidden kitchen, inside of a market, that serves up some really tasty food! This is definitely a neighborhood joint and not a destination unless you're looking for one of the best burgers out there! If the yummy wafting smells coming from Ganim's doesn't lure you in, then all the goodies in the market well! The market itself is truly a convenience store that offers a variety of items that you would expect to find from different drinks, munchies, and more. The hidden kitchen inside of the market is what you're there for. I'm gonna start off by saying that I absolutely want to go back for the fish and chips. The burger was absolutely delicious! It's super pricey, and you are definitely paying more than what you would expect to pay for a burger experience, especially because nothing comes with it. The steak fries, which I absolutely love, and wish that they serve more of, are purchased separately, just like the drink is. The Jarlsberg cheese is perfectly melted all over the seasoned burger, and each bite is like heaven. I usually don't get produce on my burgers, but I did this time and I'm really glad that I did! The lettuce was perfectly chilled and fresh, the tomato was ripe, and the entire combo of flavors just TASTY! The fries... mmmm, mmm... good! Lightly salted, crispy, and perfect. This was a deliciously fun stop, and worth the walk from our place. Hidden burger joint. Hidden Gem. Great burger!!!

Got the fish n chips 2 piece and the fish sandwich with onion rings. I do recommend the fish n chips! The fish is not super heavy, it has a nice crisp, and the steak fries are good. The fish sandwich was alright but it didn't have enough fish on it, appeared to only have 1 piece of fish and the rest of the sandwich overpowered the fish. I would try it again if it had more fish. The onion rings were great and lightly battered. I would come here again for the fish n chips. And I might try the veggie burger next time. Customer service was pleasant. Good thing it was empty when I came because it's a small place.

Though this casual place looks unassuming, they have some really good burgers! Came here around 5:30 PM on a Wednesday and it was empty. There's some tables inside and a couple of seats outside, and you order at the counter. The burgers come out in about 10 minutes, and they're served in paper plates. I got the Jasberg burger, and it was great! Really loved the mushrooms on it, and they were very generous with all of the ingredients. It was a pretty wet burger, so it was almost falling apart at the end. Delicious though! Definitely will be back.

The food at this hole in the wall is my go to for lunches. The portions are always generous when it comes to pricing. The chicken skewer is probably my favorite and the burgers come in second. The service here is really quick to taking orders and bringing the food out. There is plenty of parking. I would highly check this place out if you're ever in the area.

My girlfriend and I visited Ganim's on a Thursday night. I've lived in the area for years and always drove past, but I never had the chance to go inside until recently. I wish I had visited sooner! Walking in, it felt like a whole-in-the-wall hidden gem and you could really feel history on the walls. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered the two-piece fish and chips, while my girlfriend tried the cheeseburger with bacon. The hand-battered cod was well seasoned and paired beautifully with tartar sauce, making for a delicious late-night meal. The burger was equally delicious, with the shredded lettuce and burger sauce complementing the perfectly cooked medium rare quarter-pound patty. Unlike many places, Ganim's doesn't charge extra for sauce, which is a nice touch. I'm definitely already making plans to visit again, and if you're in the area and craving a burger, I highly recommend giving Ganim's a try!

Discovered a delicious burger hidden gem. Waked and driven by Ganim's Market a number of times and finally decided to walk in and check it out. Inconspicuous, local, and casual. A market selling convenience snacks and drinks. But the secret is that they make a mean burger. Also sells sandwiches, gyros, fish n chips, kebab plates, salads, and a few Mexican dishes. Jasberg Burger - quarter pounder, mushroom, Swiss. No frills burger made from scratch. Takes about 10 min. Juicy, packed with flavor. It's one of the burgers that just hits right without being over the top or anything. Inspired to start checking out more markets for hidden gem menu items/

Came here at about 7 pm on Thursday and there was no line! Good: - The cali burrito was amazing! It was so good portion size-wise that I didn't finish in one go, but the flavoring was perfect. The flour tortilla was nice and buttery and so fun to chew - The price was reasonable! About $20pp for a ton of food - Nice staff Bad: - Took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready so I was really hungry by the time it came to our table - The place is a little bit more casual jank diner vibes, it's ok in a group but wouldn't eat here alone Overall this place is conveniently located, though I might do an order ahead to make sure I skip the line!

This charming local eatery is a classic for Potrero Hill. A favorite for locals and law enforcement, Ganims offers a large menu full of burgers, gyros, and Mexican food for passerbys to enjoy. There is also an extensive drink fridge so you are sure to find your preference here! The burgers are pretty spectacular as their quality and size take over the plate. Everything tastes fresh and is prepared to order. There is seating inside and you can find the game playing on the TV as well. I was not the biggest fan of the fries but my partner really enjoyed how thick and fluffy they are. The service here is super fast and the owner is very kind and helpful, I will be back again!

Lived in dogpatch for 8 years and finally made it up the hill to have a burger at Ganims. I've walked by this place so many times and have noticed it's a favorite with the police. You can get a burger, a beer, and some lottery tickets all in the same place. Not a fancy place with a bit of seating inside and a table outside. The cashier was a nice guy. 4/5 Burger with cheese and bacon - it was a single and still was quite a large burgers. Nice and juicy with a bit of crunch from the bacon 4/5 Side of onion rings - we actually had two side orders of onion rings but that was wayyyy too much. This portion was huuuuuge! 3/5 2 lamb kebob - this place is known for burgers not kebabs. But the fries were nice and the salad was a nice healthy addition to the entre. Not sure why I waited so long but I will come back for another burger!

I saw a article about Ganim's Market on SFGate about having good burgers so gave it a try. Small market that serves up hot food like burgers, gyros, burrritos. They actually have a lot of choices. The Royale burger was good, had everything you want in a burger. The fries were standard. Order at the counter and grab a seat. Your food will be dropped off at your table. The service was friendly and fast. Street parking only.

I was working around the corner and we spotted this joint on the way to our site. My coworker said he's tried this place and they have good burgers. So you know I won't turn down lunch suggestions and I found time to make my way here. Parking is rough especially during the lunch rush, something I'd just want to mention so good luck w street parking. Aside from that there's literally little to nothing to complain about. The inside is necessarily quaint but more of a liquor store vibe to it with a few tables to dine in and some wall coolers with drinks. If you have time, I'd imagine you'd have a better experience eating here but I had to take mines to go. I saw a few people order double cheeseburgers and fish sandwiches. They seemed like regulars so I trust it should be worth a try if you're on the fence about it. For myself, I had a single patty cheeseburger and fries. The fries were good, properly cooked and seasoned enough. The burger held its own against anything in its class. Relatively loaded with ingredients that were definitely fresh. I can see myself coming back for certain and I highly recommend that you call in with a good 15 to 20 mins. I was too close and found myself waiting around while others came and left with their phone in orders. I'll never complain when I was the under prepared one lol. Also I wanted to add that the patrons were all types of different people but the majority were pg&e and muni workers. So it is blue collar approved, my kinda place! Check this place out, I think I spent like 15 bones for my full meal. Very moderately priced for the quality that you get. The workers were pretty chill and seemed like they weren't having any issues pumping out food quick enough to keep up with the demand of orders.
