Great bartenders Jackie and Ashley. Lobster roll delicious, wings very good. Relaxed vibe.

    Great ribeye!

This is a nice family restaurant bar that has a good selection on the menu. The service was fine, attentive but not hovering. There's plenty of seeding until it gets crowded. As always the star of the show is the food. I had a perfectly cooked ribeye steak, with a with a twice baked potato that was outstanding and green beans were fresh, and not overdone. Excellent value and delicious food and large portions. This one is really worth a try.

Gannon's is amazing! The lobster roll was a monster 19.99 on Sundays so glad I drove by to get gas. That was the fastest U-turn I ever made.. Dennis one of the owners was very welcoming and very nice to talk to. Kai did an amazing job being the only waitress on staff for Father's Day and car show rush even the bartender was helpful.. highly recommend this spot and I will make sure to stop in again.

Very clean place. Great atmosphere with a nice bar and plenty of tv's to watch the sports games. I had a bowl of clam chowder which was really frigin hot and tasty. Nice and hearty. Then I ordered chorizo tacos. Could have been spiced up a little. Then for dessert I had the cookie pie in a skillet, which was also hot and delicious. Bathroom very clean. Ashley was a good bartender. I met Dennis and Ben. Thought dessert was free but I guess it's all good! Thank you. Prices are reasonable and kudos to Claire. Such an amazing waitress! I'll be back.

Stopped in for a late lunch with two friends because we were in the area. Our server, Luka, was exceptional and quite personable; he's a young guy (early 20s) from Macedonia living and working around the States in resort areas (he's adorable with a wide smile, Ladies, so if you're young and hip, head his way!). But Yelp is about restaurants and not dating profiles, so apologies for my digression... I had the pan seared salmon sandwich, which was served with fries and the condiments (cilantro aioli, sweet sriracha and ketchup). The salmon was very good, and I especially enjoyed slathering the pretzel roll with both the aioli & sriracha. My friend had the cheeseburger flatbread, Gannon's take on the Big Mac. It was a generous portion, and while she liked it, she didn't love it; maybe dice the pickles next time? The other friend (who was already scheduled for a meal later in the afternoon) had a Bloody Mary made-to-order (which was no horseradish & a little vodka) and the cheese & crackers off the app menu, which was a cup of pub cheese and Triscuits. Again, what made this meal stand out was Luka's service--a very effective story teller and conversationalist. There were a bunch of apps I wanted to try, but I only had so much "room". Next time, I'll eat off the apps menu.

The chefs are true artists, imagining and executing haute cuisine with skill, precision, and personality. We opted for the optional caviar starter course, which was brilliant. The caviar, served with Pringles potato chips and tangy egg salad, was an exquisite introduction to the tasting menu. The house-made sourdough focaccia with homemade butter may have been the best bread we've eaten. The dayboat scallop was pan-seared and paired with ginger whey-poached pork belly, Anson Mills Carolina Gold lobster congee, and a sake-soy veil. It was incredible. The peas and carrots course of Thumbelina carrots, sweet peas, whipped coconut, and carrot-mint consommé was unlike anything we've experienced before. It was inspired. The fluke was sorrel brioche-crusted and accompanied by razor clam escabeche, sauce romesco, and sea beans, was magnificent. The chef spoke about harvesting the local sea beans himself, and the razor clam purveyor happened to be dining alongside us. It was a memorable and distinctly Cape Cod moment. The intermezzo was a cranberry membrane filled with a refreshing burst of vodka, and delightfully cleansed the palate. The optional foie gras bonbon, encased in milk chocolate, was another triumph. We agreed we would have missed out had we passed on it. It was one of the finest foie gras bites we've ever enjoyed. The tri-tip sirloin course featured American Wagyu with sweet onion soubise and toasted ramp-and-vinegar gnocchi. "Amazing" hardly begins to describe it. The Humboldt Fog cheese course was dramatically torched tableside and served with blueberry shallot jam, toasted milk bread, and smoked almonds. Sublime, artistic, and utterly delicious. The included dessert course featured caramelized white chocolate, lychee, pink guava sorbet, macadamia toffee, white chocolate gel, and olive oil sponge. It was unbelievably good. An optional dessert accompaniment, ordered by every diner, was a layered chocolate, shortbread, and banana tart topped with caviar was a playful and fitting finale. The charming atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent music had diners on their feet dancing between courses. We finished with their homemade Mignardises and were given a lovely packet to take home which included a homemade scone. This restaurant is wildly civilized. Many courses were served on beautiful handcrafted pieces from Scargo Pottery in Dennis collaboratively designed by the chef and the talented Scargo artist Tina Holl. I offer only praise and gratitude for the extraordinary food, welcoming atmosphere, talented and artistic staff, and a dining experience that reminds us how exceptional Cape Cod dining can be. Clean Slate delivered one of the most memorable meals we've had anywhere on the Cape.

My first glass of vinho verde wine was served at room temperature (the second was fine), and the side plate I was given was crusted with dried food residue. I also watched an employee behind the bar wipe her nose with her hand and then continue slicing citrus barehanded. The chicken empanadas were good but not particularly special. We also had one of the small pizzas, which was the best thing of the night, crispy and flavorful (with a little char at the edges, which we like). The decor is a little bananas (different shades of green between the walls, the napkins, the barstools, and the banquettes; five kinds of lighting fixtures; lots of sound and lighting items with exposed, hasty-looking wiring). The bathroom door doesn't really close and lock properly. And the restaurant is really loud, even half full. The writing on the menu, about family members and special recipes, tells me that there's pride here and real care about making a good restaurant. However, without the attention to detail (particularly cleanliness and hygiene!), that's kind of moot. Three stars instead of two here because the pizza was good and the staff obviously care about customers.

**Extremely Disappointing Birthday Experience**…read more I have been to emBargo before and have generally enjoyed my experiences here, which is why I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment, especially considering our bill was approximately $225. One of the biggest issues was the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. At one point, I needed a fork to eat my meal. One of my guests was heading to the restroom and specifically told our waiter that I needed a fork. I waited approximately five minutes, giving him more than enough time to bring one over. Instead, he continued having a conversation with another employee while I sat at the table unable to properly eat my meal. Eventually, I had to get up from my own birthday dinner and find a fork myself. Only after I got up did someone attempt to assist me with the utensil. Then, at approximately 9:35 PM, our waiter brought the bill to the table even though no one had asked for the check. I found this especially off-putting because this was clearly a birthday celebration, and we had not indicated that we were finished. We weren't even given the opportunity to order dessert or continue celebrating. The waiter had also mentioned that his shift didn't end until around 11 PM, making me even more confused as to why we were essentially being rushed out more than an hour beforehand. When I paid the approximately $225 bill, I left a $15 tip and wrote a note explaining why. I normally tip more than 20%, particularly when I receive good service, but I did not believe the service that evening justified that amount. What happened afterward was what truly ruined the experience. After seeing the tip and my note, the waiter came back to our table and confronted us about it. He raised his voice and argued that we should not have given him the tip we gave him because he believed he had provided good service. When I attempted to explain the problems we experienced, he put his hand up toward me, said that he didn't want to hear it, and walked away. That was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. A customer should never be confronted or yelled at because an employee disagrees with the amount of a discretionary tip especially after the customer has already explained the service issues. I understand that this waiter was relatively new and had only been working at the restaurant for approximately six weeks. I can absolutely give someone grace for being new. What I cannot excuse is confronting a customer over a tip, refusing to listen to their concerns, and walking away dismissively. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was a returning customer. I have recommended emBargo to friends, colleagues in banking, investors, and other people in my professional network because of my previous experiences here. Unfortunately, after the way my birthday celebration was handled, I can no longer comfortably recommend this restaurant. I specifically chose emBargo for a special occasion. Instead of leaving with a great birthday memory, I left feeling rushed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend emBargo for birthdays or other special celebrations unless management addresses how situations like this are handled.
