Very upset. Came here super excited on vacation at 8:30PM with my very hungry family. We were told at the door that they were about to close because no one had been coming in (they close at 10pm..) but they would check if the cook wanted to stay longer. Went last night because there was a Yelp deal and they got great reviews. My husband made a reservation for 6pm for 2 people. The first thing we noticed was how LOUD it was inside. There was live music and it was so loud all of the patrons were shouting over it. We were confused about being seated at a large table. We were asked by the hostess when the rest of out party was coming. We told her there was only two of us. In that case, she told us she needed to move us. Unfortunately, the new (and only free) table was right near the singing duo. The new waitress came over and the best way to describe her is unfriendly and seemingly put off about having to serve us. No smile, very curt. I had a salad with a burger. My husband had a flatbread. Both were decent, not exceptional. Standard tavern fare. We had to shout across the table the whole time, so ate and left pretty quickly because it was unpleasant. Uncomfortable experience all around. read more

Got there 5:30 and same woman said "no way we can't sit you, we are booked up until 8pm". When I mentioned we had just called she promptly said ok and sat us down. After searching on Yelp for a new restaurant to try, we decided on Gannon's because of the unique menu options. We were immediately impressed by the ambience and the friendly staff. We sat at the bar, where we were well taken care of by both bartenders. Brendan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He gave us great menu recommendations, as well. For drinks we ordered the pear martini and the new fashioned which were both great. I was most impressed by the fried buffalo deviled egg appetizer. The balsamic glaze was a surprisingly great compliment to the creamy buffalo flavor! We were tempted to order a second order. If you are thinking about an appetizer, definitely get them! Our entrees continued to impress. The goat cheese stuffed burger was tangy, tender, and topped with perfect avocado and a delicious homemade aioli. Even the blue cheese dressing served with my side salad was really good. The "Incredible Lobster Grilled Cheese" was a seasonal offering and definitely a must try if available. Gooey gruyere with large chunks of lobster claw! We loved that both the owner and chef were present. It showed that the owner takes pride in his restaurant. I book a Saturday night for my girlfriends 59th birthday. The staff from making the arrangements to the night itself. Everyone was very helpful. I dropped off the cake and they took care of the rest. I had 12 people 2 small kids 10 adults. Everyone ordered what they wanted. From burgers to pizza . Not a complaint and all the food came out together and fast. The price was great also. I'm very sorry to leave this review, but my last take out experience was very frustrating. $52 dropped on a grilled chicken sandwich (that came missing the bacon, onion and extra cheese that was paid extra for), and chicken wings that came almost burnt, tasteless, and damp in oil. The only thing that didn't disappoint as much were the dipping sauces which I'm not sure they make it on site. read more

Super rude female bar tender yelled at my 9 yr old and made him cry. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! We decided to wait out the 30m wait, because this place had good reviews. I went to the bar to get a beer. As I was putting my wallet away, my 9 year old grabbed my beer and started to take a drink. Mainly because we had waited so long and he was just thirsty, so he innocently grabbed my drink. The bartender flipped out and started screaming at my kid, took my beer and dumped it. However, in the grimy rude bartender way she lives, she snatched the $2.50 tip I had left on the bar as she took my beer from me and was screaming at my kid and making my him cry. I've never been treated so rudely at an establishment, nor had my child yelled at to make him cry. My family promptly left, but if there is karma; that bartender will see an unfortunate end this evening. read more

Excellent service, appetizing food and delicious drinks will make you want to return to Gannons. We dropped by for drinks and apps and returned for dinner twice during our weekend down the Cape. Some of our family favorites were onion rings, short rib nachos, fried pickles, chili, power salad, and wings. Espresso martini, dragonfruit margarita, and blood orange habanero margarita were among the best drinks. You will not be disappointed by ending your night with the cookie skillet and bread pudding. Kudos to the waitstaff for serving our family of 8 adults and 6 children graciously and efficiently. We can't wait to return to the Cape and Gannons! read more

By far the best wings I've had in my entire life! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Most wings I've had are cooked too long and leaves the meat super dry. Plus, Gannon's wings are very unique as they are dry rubbed, brined, and smoked over mesquite wood. Clam chowder was creamy and hearty, but could use a bit more fresh clams. Also had their Tavern Salad, which is garnished with a generic shredded jack and cheddar cheese. Salad would be better if lightly garnished with freshly grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese. If you get dessert, make sure you get their Bread Pudding, so good, not overly sweet. A great spot if you're visiting Cape Cod. read more

We make sure to go to Gannon's every time we are down the cape, often if we are spending the week we go a few times. We found them shortly after they opened up. The food has always been amazing! Fresh, perfectly cooked and so tasty! We have never gotten something that wasn't fantastic! Their specials in my opinion are where it's at because of the fresh fish selections. Secondly, the owner is just the nicest guy! Our son has autism and he can be energetic and small tasks or accomplishments are huge with him. He decided at dinner that was the time to finally drink from a straw cup (something we've been working on for years to transition him from a sippy cup) so we excitedly started buying several refills of milk to stock some of these cups to transition him, once the owner realized this, he brought over several cups for us and offered them for free. He has always been treated wonderfully there, which at times can be hard to find. We are so grateful to the owner, I really don't think he even understands what he did with that small gesture! But we are thankful, and a genuinely kind person like that deserves all the business and success for their establishment. read more

This ended up being a darn good spot. The Cape was packed for the 4th of July weekend and everywhere had long waits. Stopped in here and was sat right away. The service was excellent and the food was good too! The Buffalo chicken dip was delicious although the chips were a little stale. The chili was probably the highlight. Pretty large serving for a cup! The chicken tenders and flatbread were definitely good, but not amazing by any means. The atmosphere is nice and appears to have been recently renovated. Definitely more of a local hangout, but if you are looking for decent food definitely check them out! read more

Gannon's is a surprisingly good, new restaurant option near a busy Hyannis intersection. The House of Bud's (formerly Bud's Country Lounge) closed in 2014, and Gannon's had its ribbon cutting on April 10, 2019. If you were to judge the restaurant by its location and its generic logo (apologies to the designer), you might expect a basic sports bar. But you'd be wrong. Gannon's has some of the most progressive food I've seen on the Cape with a menu that features pub favorites like burgers alongside specialty dishes like a lobster carbonara with pork belly. The interior is clean and modern - you wouldn't know it replaced a dive bar. The drink options are pretty good, and you can even get Barnstable Brewing on draft! For dinner, I went with the fish and chips, which was cooked perfectly and served with fries and a tasty mango wasabi slaw. Gannon's is my new favorite year-around restaurant in Hyannis. read more

Tonight was our first trip to Gannon's but it certainly won't be our last! The hostess who greeted us couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating, cleaning a table in the back for us even though there were others available towards the front of the restaurant. Our waiter was with us so quickly and was very attentive. For dinner we got fried pickles and banana peppers, Irish nachos and the cheeseburger flatbread and everything was exceptional! Special shout out for the tavern aioli which was maybe the best restaurant house sauce we have ever tried! The hostess continued to check back in and make sure everything was to our liking which was so kind. Not your average Bud's (Country Lounge). We've lived around the corner for a dozen years. Albeit a dive, we missed Bud's, although the quality of live bands deteriorated to the point where we rarely went there anymore. We'd never ordered food, yet I was shocked to hear that some friends actually ate there. Gannon's is not that... actually it's the complete opposite. A couple iterations later, enter a massive (and needed) renovation, and a fresh approach that should cater to locals and the two nearby hotels as well. More than a bar or tavern, it's more of a gastropub; that's a good thing. Beautifully renovated (costing a fortune and a half), the ambiance, food and drinks are well worth repeat visits. (They should add some artwork and sound-deadening panels as the noise level is a bit "bright".) Seeing that they listed Averna on the bar menu, I ordered my standard Black Manhattan, garnished with a proper amarena cherry; so good I had to repeat. My wife's pear martini probably should have been made with pear vodka, 'cause the pear juice or whatever they used was "meh". Her blueberry lemonade was a good recovery; tasty. The expanded bar was packed at 5 pm on Sunday, so already they're doing something very right. We just ordered sandwiches (Tavern burger and a Reuben), which were great, with even better French fries (fresh oil, tasty and crispy). Don't let the modest fresh exterior turn you away (only so much you can do given zoning restrictions); this renovation and reinvention of a local classic is worth many visits. Where else can around here you can order a proper Black Manhattan? Certainly not at the old Bud's. What a welcome change to the neighborhood. They'll do well. read more

We loved it! Atmosphere is great and the place looks amazing considering the absolute dive that Buds Country Lounge was. A lot of work and care went into this new restaurant and it shows!! The staff was excellent,hostesses were nice and helpful, our waiter Brian was friendly and attentive. LOTS of choices on the menu, we went for bbq sliders and chowder. Both were amazing, bbq sauce was perfect on the sliders and the chowder may have been the best I've ever had, and I live on the cape so that's pretty serious. Great flavor and seasoning, nice and thick and creamy, and there were HUGE chunks of clam, even a few bellies in there, very impressive. For food we went with the Ribeye Luau and my husband got the Pesto Shrimp. We were both very pleased with the presentation, portion sizes and wait time. The flavor was on another level. So Good!! Lemon Ginger Roasted chicken was delectable. It was so tender. When I couldn't get every bit w my fork and knife, I picked it up and ate it like fried chicken. I couldn't let one bit go to waste. So darn good. The Pecan crusted halibut was devoured. It was a huge piece of fish along with veggies. The plate was empty. (I'm allergic to fish so I can only go by the emptiness of the plate). We had the deviled eggs, which is an unusual appetizer. The were good. Ans they were eggs, so they're healthy right? Dessert was key lime pie. We gave morsel to the guy sitting next to us at the bar. He ordered his own immediately. Creamy, tart and sweet. There is a good beer selection. I had a white cranberry and gin thing. Ok, I had two. It was that good. This place is worth stopping. Especially if you enjoy modern food with no prepackaged ingredients.
