Let me start by saying that our server was awesome!!!! Went here for a couple of post beach apps & beers. We were seated quickly outside & given menus. With all the great breweries around we were expecting to have a great selection of drafts only to realize that there were only 5 drafts & only 1 local. No problem, we ordered some wings & a fish/chips to share. Wings came out & to say they were over cooked would be kind - like eating tree bark. We booked a night at the Cape Codder for our sons birthday and although it wasn't quite what we hoped we had a good time. That said, the place needs to figure out a new plan for food and beverage. We booked a reservation at Gannon's going it would be an improvement and man I'm so glad we did it. Hands down the best food and service we have experienced in our 8 years living in MA. Had early dinner with wife recently.the place is clean,staff friendly and prices very fair. The Buffalo chicken Rangoon app is tasty but a little small. I prefer not to report negative experiences, however I must say the place has gone downhill since my last visit. Service was terrible, perhaps they can't get enough help. Our waitress was more interested in chatting with and sitting with three guys that were doing shots and beer than actually checking on other folks. The hostess also went to that same table and had a shot with them. Who knows, she may have been the owner for all I know, but regardless I don't think it appropriate for someone on duty to be drinking alcohol with the clientele. Unless service were to improve, I wouldn't recommend eating there. read more

We were having a hard time deciding on what to order and our waitress Cathy could not have been more helpful. She made great recommendations and the food was amazing. I had dinner at Gannon's last night with my family. We had Joe as out server. He was friendly, efficient and excellent. We started with the 20 piece wings. They were hot, plump and DELICIOUS. My husband and I ordered the reuben...best I've ever had. My daughter ordered a chicken sandwich, she ordered grilled accidently but wanted fried , they replaced it with no questions asked. It was our mistake and they were so nice about it. I had the spicy margarita my husband had an old fashion...great drinks. I can't say enough good things about this place, it's a must try if you are in the Hyannis area. Great food, great atmosphere, we can't wait to go back. read more

Ordered takeout for our last night on the Cape and were sorry we didn't find them earlier! We are foodies and used to not having super high expectations for food on the Cape, but Gannon's was really delicious. Everything was fresh, well-prepared and wonderful flavors. Also generous portions! We had mozzarella sticks, mussels and the wild mushroom flatbread, all of the which were great. The wild mushrooms and caramelized onions and truffle gave the flatbread a wonderful flavor. We also had the lobster Cobb Salad which was truly delicious--fresh artisan greens, avocado, sweet grape tomatoes and hard boiled egg slices with fresh and succulent lobster. The lobster was the best prepared we had our whole trip. The cilantro citrus dressing was so good! On top of that the you d woman who answered the phone was so friendly and helpful and even gave us a call when our takeout was ready. My mum and I tried Gannon's Tavern for Saturday lunch. The menu was much more creative than expected. Mum got the chicken burger and raved about it, and my ham and cheddar croissant with hot, crispy fries was fantastic! Afterward, we split a (huge) piece of chocolate cream pie that was OMG! Our server was friendly and attentive. The interior is attractive and has a good mix of seating options. The only bummer was that the place wasn't even half full but we could hardly hear each other to carry on a conversation. Everything inside--the walls, floor, steel beams, metal chairs, decorations, etc.--is a hard surface and sound just bounces around. Came to Hyannis from about an hour away to do some shopping and stopped here for a few drinks and a bite to eat on the way home. The bar was super clean & a good selection of booze. I had the Huckleberry Lemonade which was to die for, as well as everything we had to eat. The bartender Jackie was super knowledgeable & definitely took pride in her job. Working in the restaurant business myself, its easy to pick apart other restaurants but I have nothing bad to say about this place. We'll 100% be coming back. read more

We ventured here last week on account of the location (near shopping but not in an established dining corridor) and the effusive reviews. As advertised, the restaurant had a newly-renovated shine to it, so there were no visual reminders of the location's dive bar past apart from the regulars lining the bar. The presence of Barnstable Brewing Double Examen on the beer list earns Gannon's a star right off the bat. The menu is an intriguing combination of ambitious entrees and traditional pub grub. My wife ordered fried oysters, while I waxed nostalgic and ordered a Reuben. I was assured that it would be awesome, but sadly that wasn't the case. The Reuben had a generous amount of corned beef, but the sauerkraut was an flat rectangular chunk without crunch or tang, and the cheese was not Swiss but rather Gruyère, a subtle but tangible twist. The most egregious change, however, was the complete omission of Russian dressing. The result was a dry, meaty sandwich with an odd aftertaste. My wife's entree was much better. Service was attentive, if a little overbearing. We were in and out in about an hour, which is exactly what we had hoped. While I wasn't blown away, the menu showed enough imagination to deserve another visit. We'll be back. read more

We sat at a high top near the bar. First of all, it was way too loud and we asked if they could turn it down and they did. Phew. Drinks were good. Even though they had been open less than a week, the food was really good. We had the spicy shrimp, fish and chips, short ribs and the big daddy pork chop. All were really good. The shrimp was very flavorful. Fish was tender and the slaw was wasabi spicy and delicious. Short ribs were tender and tasty and the pork chop disappeared quickly. Love this place. The atmosphere is inviting, close to all of Hyannis. Many TV's to watch all sporting events. Food is the best part. Service does need tweaking which is normal for all new F&B establishments. Bartenders need to be a little more personable. Maybe with time. Great place read more

Stopped in at opening night to check out the new place. Visually, the place is transformed! Bright, cozy with a modern industrial look. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful (thank you to TJ, Beth & Ashley). The place was already filling up when I arrived but service was timely with some wonderful suggestions. I wasn't ravenous (otherwise I would have gone with the roasted chicken or the halibut) so ordered the buffalo deviled eggs. My only complaint is that they went too quickly lol, they were awesome. I then ordered the shrimp & chorizo nachos...first off these things are MASSIVE, not sure what I was thinking as a party of one (they made great leftovers afterward). The nachos had generous helpings of toppings and were VERY flavorful. Glad to see the old Bud's Country Lounge transformed....this is now to be one of my new favorite spots! read more
