    Hot apple cider

Stopped in on a Saturday evening and was surprised how few people were here - and even more confused after realizing how great Gantry is. The playlist was spot on, and the drinks were great. A few of us had the hot apple cider, another had the nutty Irishman (an Irish coffee drink), and a few beers. We ordered food too - the chicken nuggets with buffalo, from what I was told were delicious and exactly like those from McDonalds (in the best way possible). The chicken parm sandwich (sans cheese since they were out of parm) and spicy chicken sandwich were both tasty as well and came with a bunch of fries. The service was so attentive and this is definitely a gem!

Stopped by to grab a quick drink while in LIC. I got the Milady's Spritz which was really good even though they ran out of the rose prosecco. The bartender made sure I was fine with the replacement. He was really friendly and had a nice chat since the bar was a bit empty during that time. It's definitely a laid back chill type of bar if that's the vibe you want.

I had a pleasant time with my friends. We were able to eat outdoors. It was around 7 pm, and we were able to get a table. We had received actual menus and our waitress was attentive and helpful. On the menu, there was a variety of different I had a mimosa with passion fruit syrup which was fantastic. There were also finger foods: nachos, French fries, wings, mozzarella fries, etc. My friends were noticing that there's some people smoking nearby, but this is the downside of outside dining.

Okay, this will be a controversial review. On one hand this place has pretty decent food, good beer and service is great, on the other hand they will charge you 4% for using a credit card, tax on top of that and gratuity for parties of 6 or more on top of all that too, so it does come out to be quite pricey for the area.

A great sports bar, came here Saturday night to watch the Mets game. Sat at the bar and had a great bartender I believe his name was Ivan. Ordered the wings and mozzarella sticks. The wings were cooked well and the sauce wasn't too spicy. The margarita was standard but presentation was above average. Would definitely go back to watch some more sports

Came here for brunch one day and thought it had decent food though slightly more expensive than I was willing to pay for it. Felt that the staff weren't super welcoming or attentive. Overall a relatively average experience--nothing that really stands out to me. Not super keen to return, but wouldn't complain if a friend really loved this place and wanted to meet here.

I've been here for brunch a few times, and have always been happy with my experience, so I figured I'd show so love. The space itself isn't huge, and it always seems pretty busy. Despite that, I've never had to wait for a table, even on busy weekends. At first glance, it seems like a generic bar/pub, but there are a handful of tables to the sides of the bar and the food that they serve is excellent. They offer a free mimosa with their brunch, and have a decently sized menu. The breakfast tacos are a personal favorite, although my friend loves their BLT chicken sandwich and their brunch burger. If you're looking for a place to grab great food and a casual atmosphere, give Gantry a try.

Really good old fashioned. Solid vibe and a lot of people were there having a good time. Recommend the old fashioned. Subtract one star for the waitress who seemed like she did not want to be there nor serve us. Take that energy somewhere else. 4 stars minus 1 for the snobby waitress.

First time at Gantry. Stopped in for lunch with my colleagues while in the area for training. First off, great decor. Rustic vibe with all the wood but not over done. I thought that it was really cool that a power strip of convenience outlets were attached under the bar so you can charge your phone. Great add on for the customer experience. Multiple TVs mounted behind the bar and on the adjacent wall, just in time for the World Cup games. France vs Peru was the current match. We sat at the high top tables on stools. Our server was really nice. Not overly chatty but personable. As new customers she gave us ample time to review the menu and checked in when she realized we were ready. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich which also came with a side mixed green salad. Just enough dressing to taste, not enough to drown your salad and make you feel guilty. My sandwich was really good. The chicken was juicy and the bbq sauce was very flavorful. It also had BACON . A+++ for bacon. A nice amount of greens and tomato on a great piece of bread. Toasted Crunchy but slightly soft where the sauce and juice from the chicken settled in. Didn't get all mushy where you couldn't hold it. No lemonade available so I followed my meal with a Diet Coke. The WC was clean and had good lighting , so I could actually see that it was clean. All in all cool place, would definitely be a patron again.

It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! Overall food and service was on point, but also it was a random weeknight where there wasn't a crowd. Either way, recommend this bar if you're looking to grab a bite or watch a game! Classic Waygu Burger - 4/5 Great tasting and juicy burger, but one thing I wish was included was a side of fries at bare minimum. Cook of the meat was on point Disco Fries - 5/5 - Think of it as poutine but with mozzarella instead. Great side dish to a burger

What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.
