Scam Artist... I had the actual worst experience here. I don't know if The bartender thought I wasn't going to check my card or what the deal was, but I had the bartender overcharge me. My bill was $48.35 and I paid with card and tipped a $20 in cash on top. After everything cleared, I got a notification saying that I had tipped 88% or higher on my last visit at this bar.(my first and last visit at that) since I paid with the physical card as tap, my credit card company won't even recognize it as fraud. Stopped in on a Saturday evening and was surprised how few people were here - and even more confused after realizing how great Gantry is. The playlist was spot on, and the drinks were great. A few of us had the hot apple cider, another had the nutty Irishman (an Irish coffee drink), and a few beers. We ordered food too - the chicken nuggets with buffalo, from what I was told were delicious and exactly like those from McDonalds (in the best way possible). The chicken parm sandwich (sans cheese since they were out of parm) and spicy chicken sandwich were both tasty as well and came with a bunch of fries. Stumbled upon this bar randomly and happy I did. This is a nice little corner bar with 3 TV's and a great bartender in Arden. She seems to know everyone who walks in and their drink choice. She is super friendly and makes the place. I will be back. read more

Even when my friends have complained about some of the staff (and I stress some, as there are some very nice servers), like being scolded for accidentally using the wrong open door into the restaurant to use the restroom (from outside seating), I still tried to like Gantry Bar. Pretty good place. Nice pubby feel but nothing outrageous. If you are looking for some place to go with your friends and be able to find a few seats and sit and have a few beers this is a great spot. Its' a neighborhoody kind of pub and pretty relaxes. Open late as well. Service was good. i have no idea if the food's good because we just drank. :) But just moved to Long Island city from the upper east side and first venture out with a friend on Saturday night and Gantry was a good fit. I had a pleasant time with my friends. We were able to eat outdoors. It was around 7 pm, and we were able to get a table. We had received actual menus and our waitress was attentive and helpful. On the menu, there was a variety of different I had a mimosa with passion fruit syrup which was fantastic. I came here to watch a Liverpool game, which they won for the record!!! For a bar I was next level impressed by their food. Omg the turkey chili is beyond amazing!! Your salad with the tasty orange beets is so pretty and exceptionally flavorful. I am and have been on a keto diet for some time. Okay, this will be a controversial review. On one hand this place has pretty decent food, good beer and service is great, on the other hand they will charge you 4% for using a credit card, tax on top of that and gratuity for parties of 6 or more on top of all that too, so it does come out to be quite pricey for the area. read more

We were hoping to go to Blend but unfortunately, they didn't have any outdoor seating, so we opted for Gantry Bar & Kitchen which is next door - they had a few outdoor tables available. Not once did the mask reach the mouth or nose or both. *food was 2 stars at best; we ordered nachos and chicken nuggets (and not by our choice, chicken wings) - all looked like they had been sitting for a while; room temperature, cheese on the nachos was now solid, etc. *drinks were 2 stars - still trying to figure out if there was alcohol in them *careful when ordering - we ordered the chicken nuggets/wings, not realizing it was one or the other. The waiter didn't confirm which we wanted and brought out both. We barely touched the wings, which also slightly resembled Jim Carrey as Fire Marshal Bill - they were probably overcooked by about 43 minutes. *something most definitely didn't agree with me from GB&K. After arriving home, I felt nauseous, had stomach cramps, etc. Concerned it was food poisoning but after an hour or so, I was able to fall asleep. I've been here for brunch a few times, and have always been happy with my experience, so I figured I'd show so love. The space itself isn't huge, and it always seems pretty busy. Despite that, I've never had to wait for a table, even on busy weekends. At first glance, it seems like a generic bar/pub, but there are a handful of tables to the sides of the bar and the food that they serve is excellent. They offer a free mimosa with their brunch, and have a decently sized menu. The breakfast tacos are a personal favorite, although my friend loves their BLT chicken sandwich and their brunch burger. First time at Gantry. Stopped in for lunch with my colleagues while in the area for training. First off, great decor. Rustic vibe with all the wood but not over done. I thought that it was really cool that a power strip of convenience outlets were attached under the bar so you can charge your phone. Great add on for the customer experience. Multiple TVs mounted behind the bar and on the adjacent wall, just in time for the World Cup games. France vs Peru was the current match. We sat at the high top tables on stools. Our server was really nice. Not overly chatty but personable. As new customers she gave us ample time to review the menu and checked in when she realized we were ready. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich which also came with a side mixed green salad. Just enough dressing to taste, not enough to drown your salad and make you feel guilty. My sandwich was really good. The chicken was juicy and the bbq sauce was very flavorful. It also had BACON . A+++ for bacon. A nice amount of greens and tomato on a great piece of bread. Toasted Crunchy but slightly soft where the sauce and juice from the chicken settled in. Didn't get all mushy where you couldn't hold it. No lemonade available so I followed my meal with a Diet Coke. It was easy to get a table and the menu has pretty good variety in the sense that I'd think if you came with a group everyone could find something to order. The food unfortunately was just okay although what really soured our experience was a rude customer who was harassing us to the point we finally had to relocate inside and luckily our waitress was very quick to accommodate that. I chose this as a happy hour spot in LIC because online it said til 7pm and when we arrived-it was only til 6pm and I had to quickly order and chug. Please update your hours on the website accordingly. The tacos were pretty good, with the sauce being amazing...two is actually filling so I had an extra taco for leftovers. My friend had the pork and said it was pretty good too. Our waiter didn't really attend to us and I had to flag them down when we needed more drinks/to order/to pay. When food was delivered, some of the sauce fell on my pants as the waiter handed it to me which was overextended and I was already in a bad mood from that point-with no apology or anything from the waiter even though they saw it happen. GET THAT BURGER!!!!!!!! Wow I can't even I dream about their burgers at night sometimes. Go during the day time because it is less crowded and you get your food quicker. This is place is very warm and cosy! The place gives off this watering hole in a small town kinda vibe when you sit around the booth area. They have draughts on tap and is a good selection of beers. The place is known for whiskey though. They have flights of whiskey starting from 22$ to 24$ depending on which type you are getting. I didn't have any food, so can't comment on that. Simple bar showing a bunch of games and various types of seating in the small-ish establishment. Menu is limited in options; generally a good sign as they are trying not to do too much. Opted for the Guac and Chips ($6) to go along with daily special Pretzel ($11) and a beer ($8). Chips are served by the large handful and with a dollop of guacamole. Ratio wise, would have preferred more guac and slightly warmer chips, but overall a decent starter. Pretzel is giant - salted and buttered with three types of dips (mustard, cheese, glaze). Liked the pretzel, wasn't a fan of the dips except the spicy mustard. Beer list had mostly standard options, but the Goose IPA is always a plus. Super friendly and great with suggestions. The food was overall good but some misses. The burger was a bit over cooked despite asking for medium temperature. Poached eggs came out soft boiled. They have cards here, which really helped when my co-workers and I were waiting for our food. The bartender was really friendly and always checked in on everyone - the only complaint is that the food took a while to make. We were all ready to leave by the time the food actually came out. Also, their loaded fries are amazing. Makes it kind of worth the wait, but not really. Really disappointed in the food here - came here and ordered the gantry burger since I was really craving one and had heard good things about the burger here. Service is great as well as the ambiance, selection of beers on tap, etc etc. However my $14 burger turned out to be literally half the size of the bun (see picture). It was very tasty, however. Also got the tacos which were pretty disappointing - I realize it's not a Mexican place but they did not double up on the tortilla and the filling broke though as I was eating it. EDIT: ultimately decided to speak up to the owner about the burger and she was very gracious and appreciated the feedback. Apparently they JUST decided to to go down to a 6oz burger (was 8oz) and lower the price slightly. I'm hoping it goes back to 8oz as it was yummy and I would like to have more burger!! read more

My experience was not very good. Ordered a burger "medium well. Some pink is ok but NO red". It arrived under cooked and definitely red inside. I sent it back to the kitchen explaining the problem. It came back the same way. Ultimately, they refused to remove it from the bill although I ate alone given my party had finished by the time mine was finally cooked through.
