The store itself was wonderful and helpful. However the part they sold us was defective. i have been referred to Dept. of Customer Success, Executive Division. Cmmunications in progress. ------ 1st Advanced couldn't tell us specifically which alternator we needed for our van so we bought two to the tune of $1300+ (with intention of returning unused one) and went to a garage we found in the area (we were on a road trip starting our vacation, so didn't know anyone in area). The garage took us in and did the repair. We were so thankful to be on the road that we paid him cash and headed out. Unfortunately lost the receipt. Wasn't really planning on needing it. Lesson learned! Initial breakdown did not have to do with Advanced Auto Part. And we made an assumption that the part(s) we purchased would be good. for the price...maybe should be lined with a little gold? 2nd on the way home. SAME PROBLEM. This did have to do with Advanced Auto part. Alternator was bad! so now we're in NJ and have to find some help. We eventually did find a repair shop that could help us, but not until the next morning so we were stuck overnight. Not their fault, i put this blame on faulty part as well. So the alternator that we purchased from Advanced was no good. Shop replaced it with a NAPA (where they get their parts) and the cost of the alternator was 1/2 of what we paid at Advanced, although the labor was double what we paid the first time. This garage told us that NAPA will stand by their product and if something like this happens they will reimburse for additional labor as a result of THEIR BAD PART. So I called Advanced to see if they'll do the same. if the part they sold us was good we never would have been delayed getting home and having to pay even MORE labor to reinstall another alternator not to mention the towing fees to get the van to this garage. They did refund me for both the alternators that i purchased. the bad one and the additional one i had to purchase. now i'm tyring to get assistance with the added labor we had to dish out. We needed some things to get a car back on the road after having sat unused for nearly a year. Once we got to the store, we quickly identified the battery, fluids, and other gear we needed. The salesman couldn't offer us a discount from a coupon I had for online sales but suggested we order everything online for store pickup, and he patiently waited for us to do this. We saved 25% that way, and then he replaced the parts for us. The car runs great now. Fantastic service at home or on the road, we always choose Advance Auto. read more

I needed a new head light. The store manager helped me, he looked it up and he went to the aisle and picked out the bulb for my car. I thanked him paid and left. He sold me the wrong item. I went to Advance Auto Parts website and looked up what I should have had. It was one number off, he picked the wrong item off the shelf. Well when I went to change the bulb in my car it, of course, did not fit. I took it back but now it is out of the package, and even though it was their fault they wouldn't take it back. I left the store and went to the Auto Zone down the street and got the right part. Additionally, twice in the past year I have bought parts for my cars and had two boxes where parts were missing.
