Authentic location in Sunnyvale for great Mexican food. I ordered two tacos asada, one al pastor, and one lengua (not pictured). Comes with pickled radish, carrots, and lemon wedges. So delicious, the portions here are incredibly filling so order with caution if your eyes tend to be bigger than your stomach like mine. Parking can be somewhat limited in this plaza but I generally have no issue finding a spot. I know that some people park at adjacent lots like the In-n-Out or 10 Butchers lots and walk over from the street across. The interior can be a bit loud and they play live music sometimes. Had the Super Burrito with Carnitas and a churro. This was my go to burrito restaurant years ago when I used to work nearby. The carnitas had changed. Used to be full flavor porky goodness. The one In recently had was just ok. Carnitas was still tender but less seasoned than it used to be. Also less meat. Burrito came with everything and price was still reasonable. So I was in the area at Molly Tea. Just looking for something to eat before our drive. My buddy suggested let's just try this random spot around the corner. It happened to be Garcia's Taqueria. A hole in the wall unassuming spot. Upon entering we walk up to the counter and look up at the menu above. I got the taco plate of a carne asada taco, rice, and beans. They were very helpful and friendly. They also give you free chips and salsa to eat before your entree comes out. The chips and salsa of course were addicting. The plate comes out and the taco comes with a handmade corn tortilla. The asada sliced up well. A great taco. the rice was cooked nicely as well. Very fluffy. But the star of the show is the beans. So nicely whipped. It had so much flavor and melted in your mouth texture. Really glad we randomly chose this spot. read more

Had a chance to try Garcia's which was great - we were able to order 2 super burritos on Uber Eats for pickup and this was a great option. If you are looking for a super authentic experience with hearty food and fresh salsas this is a nice place to check out. The service was pretty fast and the ambiance is casual but it's fun! We ended up ordering: * Chicken burrito - this was yummy and was stuffed with pulled chicken which was nice. They did not skimp on the fillings which is nice and this was very flavorful. * Al Pastor Burrito - This was also good, but felt the al pastor filling wasn't as strongly seasoned as I typically like it. I think I liked the chicken more personally but this was also filled well and overall tasty They also gave a complimentary bag of chips and there was fresh green and red salsa you could take home. Never again. This place has both an attitude problem and a terrible food problem. The moment I walked through the door I was glared at by the few people working behind the counter. Not a single person said hi or anything. Just glaring. I didn't come when they were about to close, mind you. I came during early dinner time with a few hours before close to spare. When I took my food home, it was dry, overcooked and bland. I'm not Latino and I've heard similar stories like mine from people who aren't either. You should serve everyone the same! Being racist to customers is gross. There are way too many Taquerias in the South Bay to come back to a racist restaurant like Garcia's. Hard pass. read more

I ordered two beef head tacos which were fantastic, birria en caldo which is just my absolutely favorite. The meat chunks were much larger whereas I'm used to a more shredded style but it was still amazing and I got two super burritos because they had a special of buy one, get one free. Terrible experience at Garcia Taqueria! The food might be okay (I wouldn't know since I never got to try it), but their parking situation is ridiculous. They don't even allow customers to park in their lot for 5 minutes to pick up an order! I pulled in hoping to grab some quick tacos to-go, but before I could even turn off my engine, an angry employee came rushing out waving his arms and yelling at me to leave. Apparently their precious parking spots are too good for paying customers. How does a restaurant expect to do any business if they won't let people park long enough to order food? Do they expect everyone to walk or take the bus? Get real. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that actually wants your business. I'll never be back to this place again. In a small plaza is Garcia's Taqueria. Definitely a lot of menu items. I was kind of skeptical when the guy taking orders asked kitchen if they could do a super Al pastor burrito. The burrito itself is hefty and filling. But after unwrapping, the outside was wet from the inside. The pork wasn't super flavorful. The carnitas taco was a good size. But like the burrito, the carnitas wasn't too flavorful. Service was nice and quick. Plenty of seating and loud music playing. Seems like a good place to grab a beer and food. read more

You need to try their pozole! About $14 for a good portion of tender meat, flavorful broth, and LOTS of hominy. They give you a side of tostada chips and chopped raw veggies (onions, cabbage, and radish). The portion is very generous and could easily feed two people. I also really enjoyed the mixed pupusa! Nice crispy texture and flavor. I would definitely order it again. There can be a fairly long line/wait on the weekends. I came on a Saturday at noon and there was a line to the door. Their menudo is only served on weekends, and it seems pretty popular here! read more

The burrito was filled with rice, beans and chicken. The beans and rice mix together was good with adding chicken to it. Just the satisfaction was bad with the burrito. Garcia's Taqueria had all the makings of a legit taqueria. All Spanish speaking customers. CHECK! Divey. Like REALLY divey. CHECK! Located next to a sketch liquor store. CHECK! Offal on the menu (lengua and cabeza). CHECK! IDK what happened but their Menudo was not the business. I called for takeout and was quoted 10 minutes. It was ready in about 20 minutes which is understandable due to labor shortages. Note: For takeout, if no one answers the first time, keep calling. It took 7 tries before someone picked up. There's a tent outside for outdoor dining but I did takeout since Menudo travels well. The Menudo: Beef Tripe Soup ($13.50) was barely warm and the honeycomb tripe was undercooked and crunchy. It's disappointing that the kitchen forgot/didn't bother tasting the tripe to make sure it's cooked. One order of menudo had pata (pig's feet), the other one didn't. Also, the complimentary chips had a bitter+sour aftertaste (maybe time to change that oil?). On the upside, the handmade corn tortillas were hot, soft, chewy, and huge (the size of flour tortillas). I saved the extras to make quesadillas. And, everything was thoughtful wrapped to prevent spillage. Love the little plate of accoutrements: diced onions, jalapeño, dried oregano, puya chilies, cilantro, and lime. Maybe it was an off day but I was really hoping Garcia's Taqueria was going to be an under-the-radar gem. =( I have my favs in SF but if anyone has recs for Menudo in the South Bay, please let me know. My fav one at Margarita's Taqueria always sells out early so it's hard to get. TIA! read more

On the weekends most of the tables have a couple friends ordering beer and food. Most of the groups on the weekend aren't ordering super burritos or tacos. That is togo food. The good stuff you have to eat there, hot, with steaming fresh hand made melt in mouth corn tortillas. The soups and menudo are delicious. Hand made corn tortillas unique. The reviews are unfairly biased too low. Menudo: beef broth with soft tripe. Like eating noodles. Slurp them down like noodles Japanese style. Large 8 in corn tortillas which are so soft many think they are flour. Completely different texture than what you get in the store. Comes with a place of Mexican oregano, pepper, fresh jalapeño and dried chili pepper and lime. Slightly sour salty herby with a soft melt in mouth texture from the tripe. Not sweet. Menudo is their signature item. American mass market doesn't eat tripe. read more
