Authentic location in Sunnyvale for great Mexican food. I ordered two tacos asada, one al pastor, and one lengua (not pictured). Comes with pickled radish, carrots, and lemon wedges. So delicious, the portions here are incredibly filling so order with caution if your eyes tend to be bigger than your stomach like mine. Parking can be somewhat limited in this plaza but I generally have no issue finding a spot. I know that some people park at adjacent lots like the In-n-Out or 10 Butchers lots and walk over from the street across. The interior can be a bit loud and they play live music sometimes. I had a very good experience.

    Super Burrito with Carnitas

Had the Super Burrito with Carnitas and a churro. This was my go to burrito restaurant years ago when I used to work nearby. The carnitas had changed. Used to be full flavor porky goodness. The one In recently had was just ok. Carnitas was still tender but less seasoned than it used to be. Also less meat. Burrito came with everything and price was still reasonable. Churro was good with perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar coating.

The sides of the fajitas. Guac, beans, salad, and sour cream.

Came here on someone's recommendation! It has a huge variety of things. The service was great. Very chill vibe. Plenty of keto options.

So I was in the area at Molly Tea. Just looking for something to eat before our drive. My buddy suggested let's just try this random spot around the corner. It happened to be Garcia's Taqueria. A hole in the wall unassuming spot. Upon entering we walk up to the counter and look up at the menu above. I got the taco plate of a carne asada taco, rice, and beans. They were very helpful and friendly. They also give you free chips and salsa to eat before your entree comes out. The chips and salsa of course were addicting. The plate comes out and the taco comes with a handmade corn tortilla. The asada sliced up well. A great taco. the rice was cooked nicely as well. Very fluffy. But the star of the show is the beans. So nicely whipped. It had so much flavor and melted in your mouth texture. Really glad we randomly chose this spot.

Skinniest burrito I have ever bought besides microwave burritos

I came to this place like 8 years ago but couldn't remember why I didn't like it. This time I came because this was the closest places from Maple Tree Hotel. My burrito was so small. I almost ate the whole thing in about 5 bites. I wanted to measure just to see how wide it was . 2-1/2 inches ! Really!!!!! Never again!

Free chips and salsa -- spicy!

A Mexican's Mexican Restaurant -- authentic Mexican food, low cost, raw authentic ambiance. If you want to know what an authentic Mexican food experience, look no further than Garcia's Taqueria. Loud music, party ambiance, real culture. The food is pretty good, but more than anything go for the experience. This reminds me of growing up being in Mexico with family. If you've got a Spanish speaking friend, take them with you and order in Spanish :) This place gets packed on weekends. They had live music when I went!!

    Mexican food.

Cashier was not so friendly. We were standing in line ( only two of us ) and she continued to talk with another bystander. Never acknowledged us. Not coming back to this place unless their customer service improves.

Very uncoordinated service; the waitress prioritizes the people drinking at the bar, and the food was cold and involved a long wait.

That said, I would recommend avoiding peak/busy times. One of the dishes, soufflé, we ordered was essentially like a flat pancake during the rush, which was disappointing compared with the quality we expected. Although it indicated on the menu it will take around 30 minutes to make, yet that dish was the first one came after we ordered, less than 10 minutes later! More importantly, we made a reservation through Yelp for Labor Day weekend. However, when we arrived, we were told that the restaurant does not accept reservations during holidays. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be clearly stated on Yelp and the reservation system should be restricted for those dates. It was frustrating to find this out only after arriving, especially when we already had guests with us. We were then given a shortened dining time, which made the experience even more stressful.

Edit: Dang, I was fired up last night. Should've taken it to the publisher. I still stand on it tho…read moreThat bartender SUCKED LOL Five stars, and every one of them is for Dunncha. If he didn't bartend here this would be a two, and the second star is only because they carry the Rye I like. He wasn't on tonight. Adam was. So, here we go... Quick background so you know who's writing this. I grew up in downtown San Jose and I've owned and operated bars and coffee shops there, including on 1st Street. All front facing, all customer service, nothing hides behind a kitchen door. I am 26 years old and it's a quick way to see how service staff treats young/non-regular service. Over +10 years in this industry, four of those as an owner. I've hired bartenders, trained bartenders, and fired bartenders. I've watched the tape at 2am trying to figure out why a our best bar-fly stopped coming in. So when I walk into a bar, I'm not just a guest. I'm watching how the room gets run. I got recommended Fibbar's on the Caltrain. I had a tight timeline and made room for it anyway, because I love supporting local and I know what it takes to keep the doors open. I came for Dunncha. I've had him behind the bar before and he elevated the whole night, every time. His name gets around downtown San Jose, and as an owner I've seriously considered hiring him myself. The guy on the train swore by him too. I figured with a pro like that on staff, I'd get put in the queue, served quick, and be back on the train. Instead Dunncha was off and I got Adam. Oh boy... He told me he'd be right with me, then filled 3 beers and mixed a drink for the woman next to me (I've pulled enough bar cam to know that's easy to check). When I checked in he called me "Mr Impatient." I let it go. I tried to make friends with him, even offered up my cowboy hat, because I had a train in 15 minutes and didn't want to make it worse. He grabbed my wallet off my hat (front bar video) and paraded around with my hat while I waited to close out. I told him about the train. He shrugged. This was after I'd already ordered three drinks. I paid, thanked him, and thought we were on good terms. Then he loudly confessed to scissoring my fingers. What a weird thing to do. Then "He made me!" Weirder thing to say. The people next to me didn't know what that meant either. They just... Starred??? Probably weirded out by their bartender telling them he was scissoring my fingers LOL I usually don't review a place until I've had the food. Didn't happen tonight. Adam's demeanor made me feel unwelcome and honestly unhungry, and I'm not the kind of guest who loses his appetite easy. Owner to owner: gaining a new customer is the most expensive thing you do. I was scouting Fibbar's for my workgroup, my GeoCache group, and the Sunnyvale Restoration Cleanup Group. Three groups, all local, all regulars once they land somewhere. Adam lost all three in 15 minutes. If he were on my payroll that's not a bartender, that's a liability. And he had the gall to tell me good luck catching the Caltrain. Caught it, by the way, no help from you, little buddy. If Dunncha's on, go. I'd trust him with my own bar. If it's Adam, don't. The magic of Fibbar's is gone. He killed the vibe. Definitely not welcome at my bars with that "friendly" attitude. P.S. Owner-to-owner, I'd pull the tape. Seen it before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We looked over our menu and had a hard time pronouncing and figuring out what to eat. Our server was so patient with us and explained the entire menu, also told us that he is Turkish and showed us how to pronounce some of the names and letters After much thought, we ordered the acili muhammara (peppers and walnut dip with pomegranate molasses) , Uc Borek (phyllo rolls with 3 type of fillings), and the adana platter (lamb skewer with sides). The bread basket that came with the pepper and pomegranate molasses dip very good, and it was a great start. The pomegranate gave it a hint of sweetness which balanced the heavier pepper flavor The uc boreks were flaky and crispy, and came out hot af. loved the zucchini and cheese filling! The lamb was full of flavor and came with rice and a Greek salad. That being said, the flatbread had a lot of oil, since the skewer was placed on top. The lamb itself was soft and had no gamey taste. The greek salad complimented and contrasted the heavy and rich tastes. We also ordered the pistachio kunefe and ice cream for dessert. The texture of the kunefe was delicious! I loved the stretchy sweet mozzarella and the crispy crunchy of the toasted phyllo dough. We got a side of mastic ice cream to go with the kunefe. slight licorice and herby taste.
