Had a first date at the bar yesterday and were taken very well care of by Ashlyn and Kayla (sorry…read moreI'm not sure on spelling here)! I've been in this business a long time. These ladies (though both fairly new to the bar) were warm, engaging and respectful - checked in just enough to make sure we were happy and enjoying, but were never disruptive or intrusive. The food was delicious, as were the mocktail/lemonade we ordered. Multiple managers also did a quick table (bar) touch to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Great time all around, would highly recommend, thank you

(Shout out to Dj Khalid) She was the hostess with the mostest!! She knew everything excellent to order, was attentive w/o being intrusive, and her bubbly personality was a plus. Now. About the food. Fluffy Eggs althoughI couldn't taste the jalapeno cheese, excellent pork sausage, french toast and pancakes were awesome. My sisters complaint was about the jalapeno cheese. Y'all gotta get a better jalapeno cheese or add a real jalapeno to it. The other issue was, the smashed potatoes were inconsistent due to the salt content. However, everything else ordered was very good. By the way. Met the manager. Her name is Ms. Abigail. Talk about accommodatingly awesome! With her confident and compassionate customer service acumen, she made everthing perfect. We'll be back soon. Hope to see y'all here in the near future.

Sort of in Legacy Place, but away from the main part, allowing stress-free entry and exit. My late…read moreSunday morning visit had stress potential due to a line, but they banged it out effortlessly and I was seated in no time. Typical nostalgic decor with entertainers of the 1950s, keeping with the diner's name. -- Patty Melt: This is the reason I came, as I'm searching for great ones, and theirs is right up there. American cheese (a little outside the standard Swiss), choice of bread (I went marble rye), and optional add-ons (I chose grilled onions, which you'd think would be standard). Excellent execution. Griddled bread with just enough butter, just enough crunch, and no sogginess. Beef soft, with a loose grind, cooked to a juicy medium rare, and with nice beef flavor (too many diner versions use stiff, el cheapo patties; this was quality sourcing a couple steps up). And melty cheese and soft onions complementing while letting the beef sing loudest. No one ingredient was artisanal-level premium, but every aspect was handled beautifully. -- Fries (included with the Patty Melt): Alas, the dreaded "coated" kind, an obvious frozen product. Hot, crisp, and plentiful, so it could've been worse. No biggie; the patty melt was good enough for this not to matter. I can't emphasize enough how well-run the place is. The friendly veteran servers move like clockwork and could easily drop a "honey" on you with every interaction, but that would merely add a delay. Instead, they show their dedication with sincere smiles, initiative, and time-learned precision. It's a joy to behold. Normally I'd hold off on a 5 based on such a small sample size, but the food and shakes I saw going out all looked good, and that service excellence cliched it.

Great food & service! Cash ONLY though. Definitely worth…read morethe drive. It was about a 20 minute drive for us from Waltham. There's a line sometimes but it moves quickly.

Visited for a birthday lunch and, overall, it was a good experience, though there were a few…read moreservice hiccups. I believe our server was new, which was understandable, but there were several minor miscommunications throughout the meal. He wasn't familiar with the brand of still water the restaurant carried, service was a bit slow at times, and there were a few mix-ups with our drinks. I specifically asked for a passion fruit lemon drop made with tequila and even confirmed with him that the bar had everything needed to make it. He later returned to say they couldn't make it as requested, and when the drink finally arrived, it was made with vodka instead. Definitely not what I ordered, and not very good. Another thing that stood out was the seating. We were dining with a baby, yet we were seated right next to what appeared to be a large business meeting. The group was understandably loud, making it difficult to enjoy a relaxing birthday lunch. If the restaurant wasn't completely full, it would have been nice if a little more thought had gone into seating guests, especially families with young children, in a quieter area. Steakhouse Egg Rolls - 8/10: These are always one of my favorites. They were delicious as usual, but they're definitely on the pricey side for essentially two small egg rolls cut in half. They're a much better value during happy hour. Spinach Dip - 9/10: Creamy, flavorful, and one of the better appetizers. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough pita bread for the amount of dip. I wish they also served tortilla chips or provided additional bread. Crab Cake - 5/10: Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. It seemed like the quality has declined since my last visit. There was more filler than I remember, the texture was a bit odd, and it lacked the fresh crab flavor I was expecting. Roasted Chicken - 9.5/10: This was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice, and it was tender, juicy, and incredibly flavorful without being overly rich. My only small complaint is that I wish the dish came with more potatoes--they were delicious, and the portion felt a bit light. I'd absolutely order this again. Loaded Baked Potato - 7/10: It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. It was also smaller than expected for the price, although that's somewhat expected at a steakhouse. Overall, the food was hit or miss this visit. While I enjoyed some of my usual favorites, the service inconsistencies and a few disappointing dishes kept this from being a great birthday lunch. I'd still return, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.
