    Gyro & Fries meal!
    John B.

Without beating around the Busch(Boulevard), I'll get right to the point! Nestled in between the BK, the Dunkin and the McD is an interesting choice for drive through/fast food directly across from the beer Jungle. I absolutely did NOT want anything Whoppery, Dunk-y or Big Mac-y so I was really keen on trying something different. Garden Gyros was a natural since I do love gyros. And a gyro is what I got. The Gyro & Fries meal, for $8.99 with my choice of original gyro meat. You can also get it with chicken. My Gyro meal was one large heaped up pita, full of delicious gyro meat and tzatziki sauce along with a mound of crispy good fries. I felt it was a nice portion for the price! The meat was full of that familiar gyro flavor and blended well with the creamy dill-liciousness of the tzatziki. I enjoyed every bite. Service was fast and friendly for me, going through the drive-thru. I'd have NO problem going back! As Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses fame says, 'Welcome to the Jungle!' ...or at least the little gyro place across the street from it!

It's no outside seating, there is inside seating. I ordered to go two gyros 9.99. Sauce on the side. Good food fast service.

After returning to our hotel, the Hampton Inn, I had the late night munchies so I walked to the McDonald's next door. Closed. So I walked to the opposite side and the Dunkin Donuts was also closed, but beyond that was this little hole in the wall Garden Gyros. You walk can go thru the drive thru or walk up and place your order. Their menu is varied and reminds me very much of Purple Onion at home. There's everything from hamburgers, fish sandwich, greek salads, to of course gyros. I just went to the top and ordered the combo #1, gyro, fries and drink for right at about $10. There are only about 3 small tables to sit and they could've used a good wiping, but it's either stand or sit and wait for your order. About 10 minutes later I got my food and walked 2 blocks back to the hotel. The pita bread was soft and slightly toasted, filled with grilled lamb seasoned nicely. Also piled in were onions, bell pepper and cucumber sauce. Tasted very good and again reminiscent of Purple Onion or Tazikis. Their fries were made fresh and also very good. Everything quenched my late night munchies! Not bad for $10.

This place is a dump. You can see from the street that it is run down. upon entering the building the first thing you notice is that the roof is leaking and the floor is filthy. It's type of place where if you don't pay ahead you're probably going to leave once you see the state of the interior. Upon receiving my food I really begin to question my life choices. Should I eat it or just throw it away. I open my to-go box and see that the food appears to be appetizing. I give the to-go box a good sniff and something just smelled off. Since I had already spent my money and I live by the theory of no risk it no biscuit I braved the disaster of this to go box. The wings were terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if they were yesterday's wings flash-fried for a fews to warm them up. The sauce was super watery and flavorless except for this strange metallic taste. I stopped eating the chicken wings which isn't something I do very often because I love chicken wings. I moved on to the gyro that I ordered and it was covered in tzatziki that seems spoiled. It tasted more like rancid tartar sauce than zatziki. Because my sandwich was covered in it it made it damn near inedible. I opened the wrapper and it looked like bukkake scene. Yet again I had to stop halfway through and throw it away. This was an extremely disappointing experience and I don't think that I will ever eat here again.

The staff was very welcoming, and the portions were nice. I tried the fried scallops which were interesting as scallops a are soft and the outside was crispy. Although seasoned and breaded nicely, I do not think I would try this dish again. It is more of a texture thing and not anything to do with the restaurant itself--I'll probably stick to things like fried calamari as the textures do not conflict. As far the gyro it was so delicious, and they also gave me a mini one!

Let's get started. You know what time it is. This place was rough looking and it was in a rush. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I didn't know this was actually a fast food style restaurant. I ordered my food for pick up through the app. I've got a steak Philly and I got buffalo chicken sandwich. I probably like the chili a lot more and I was happy with the prices. My wife was happy so you know that means him. Prices are good and the food is good and they aren't looking to renovate this place clearly

This place was amazing, but not just because of the food, the variety, or the pricing. The best thing about Garden Gyros is the owner. I'm not sure of his name, and honestly I'm just assuming he's the owner, but charisma and customer service of that man is unmatched and impeccable. I witnessed him personally come out and take the order of someone who was struggling and seemed nervous in the car in front of me in the drive thru and he ended up making them laugh and satisfied with their choice and experience. Now onto the food, I got the gyro + 10 boneless wings with a drink combo and it was only 11 bucks, added a side of fries and I ate all that food for only 13 dollars, incredible deal in todays food market. I was surprised as well by the variety of menu choices from crab legs, to shrimp, to even fettuccine Alfredo! In the end the food was really good, especially for the amazing price, and next time I'm visiting Tampa, I will definitely visit again, because in all honesty the owner saved my trip, I went to Busch Gardens, wasn't having a great time with some of my group, and this man brightened up the whole weekend, HE IS THE BEST PART OF TAMPA!!!

Everyone was super nice and it just felt like such a lively spot. Our table got a bunch of apps to share along with a couple entrees and all of the food was fantastic. The sangria was also incredible and definitely a standout. The only downside was that the service felt a little slow, so in between ordering drinks it felt like a long time. I did not mind too much though because the overall experience was still really fun. Definitely a place I would go back to!

We had a 6:30 PM reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty (about 4-5 tables occupied), yet we were seated at a very small two-top directly next to another couple where we could clearly hear each other's conversations. Several larger tables nearby remained empty the entire evening. When I asked about moving, we were told the tables were reserved and we'd need to leave by 8:30 PM ~ yet we stayed until 9:40 PM and those tables were never used... Service started off slow. No one greeted us for about 20 minutes until we waved someone over. When our server, Briana, arrived, she asked if we had been helped, which made it seem like there was a lack of communication between the host staff and servers. Food was okay: the branzino with grilled vegetables was very good, but the octopus was extremely tough and chewy. My plate was also chipped on both the left and right sides, which was surprising considering how expensive the dinner was. Drinks were fine, just a bit too sweet. What really caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to a two-top. The most expensive restaurants in Tampa don't even do it and this is not Miami. Overall, not a terrible experience ~ but not one that makes me eager to return.

The only miss for me was the raw white part of the green onions in the salad, they were a bit too chunky for my taste. The chicken, though? Perfectly grilled...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It came with a tzatziki sauce that was more on the liquidy side, which isn't my favorite texture, so I just used it as a dip for the chicken and hummus. Heads-up: the menu on their official site isn't updated, but if you Google "Tasty Mediterranean," it shows accurate prices and lets you order online. I was also shocked I had never heard of it. I went yesterday for the first time to have it in person and was blown away at the quality of food in terms of how fresh EVERYTHING was and how efficient the service was. The staff was so so wonderful. Cassie, Clayton, & Joy were all such a pleasure to meet and speak to. I'll be happy to go support them in their new location opening in Largo. Getting into the food - here's what we ordered and thoughts on each: - Trio of Spreads: Pesto Hummus, Roasted Garlic Feta, Tzatziki w/ grilled & fried pita chips. Each dip was INSANE and you could tell by the taste they were not only homemade but made to order. My favorite was the whipped feta but i could genuinely eat each of them everyday. They asked if we wanted the pita grilled or fried and when I asked which was better they gave us both! And I'm so glad they did because I really enjoyed both and had never had fried pita before (delicious of course). I will be getting this every time. I do remember the dips going crazy when we had gotten it catered and they hit just as hard this time around. - Chopped Greek Salad w/ potato salad. I had this infamous dish when we had it catered and I was literally addicted to the potato salad. I remember I had a plate of everything else then went back for a full plate of the potato salad. I definitely recommend getting this salad chopped over the traditional way as it is much easier to eat. So unique they add the pasta salad to it!! - Chicken Souvlaki Pita. I always get gyro pitas so was trying to switch it up here and I was so glad to finally try Chicken Souvlaki (I've had Greek sooo many times but never tried it) and it was SO yum. Definitely a good change of pace for me. - Gyro Pita Platter. Still needed to try out their gyro so got the platter which is basically a deconstructed pita. I love that you're able to add as much or little of each of the ingredients - it reminds me of taco nights! The gyro was fire of course. - Greek Feta Fries. These were seasoned to PERFECTION. I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them. You gotta order these at every Greek place and constantly compare. These were a wedge vibe and the perfect amount of potato in my opinion (I'm Irish so I prefer a thick steak fry to a skinny mcdonald's fry). The flavor went crazy. I thought it was expensive at $24, but it seemed to be the best way to try a wide variety of things. The five items I got, ranked from best to least best: 2 falafels-really good, hummus-very good, cucumber salad-good, cous cous-fine, beet salad-meh. Make sure you ask for the hot sauce - it jazzed everything up. The platter was served with a couple of pieces of pita, but there really needed to be more to dip into all the salads. The only available drinks were to purchase bottled water or bottled soda. I only ate about a third, but I will say it did not travel well. Because three of the salads were placed in the same section, by the next day all three salads were a combined soggy mess, and the only part that was still edible was the hummus. I did enjoy the food, and the worker was incredibly friendly and hospitable, but it was a bit too pricey for one lunch for me.
