Garibaldi's serves food that you expect at a Portillo's, or Buona beef, not in terms of quality or quantity, but just the type of food. Which is kind of hard considering the aforementioned restaurants are not too far. But what I like about this restaurant is the overall customer experience, no yelling over a microphone so now it's your order is ready, just friendly people and staff serving your order out when ready. I went with the grilled chicken sandwich, which was actually pretty good. The rest of my family got the usual junky food, but they liked it as well. The restaurant is pretty spacious, with plenty of seating and booths to go all around. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the back, the men's bathroom was not that great. My favorite pizza so I'm biased here but it's a pseudo-New York-ish pizza that I feel is best cooked well Done. Even with extra time in the oven it has that classic New York style droop down when picked up by the by the crust. I usually get a few topping on a pizza but here I like the crust/cheese/sauce on its own and don't like messing with a perfect formula. I do it with a like shake of crushed red pepper and a big dose of the Parmesan cheese--and that cheese is my favorite and only topped in quality by freshly grated. The decor is 50s style that to me is a tired and dated theme but the interior is not faulty by any means. Lots of tables with comfy chairs and a few booths that have round seats with a table in the center of it. Very fun for a family or a goodly few bunch of friends. Maybe sets six? I always get pizza but I've nibbled on what friends order. The rest of the menu is decent enough given what I've tried. The sausage on the pizza though is not agreeable to me. Slices are an affordable option for a solo meal and after they're warmed and cooked to completion it's basically as good as the cooked fresh whole pizzas. The only downside is the children's parties on the weekends. The guy in charge lets them get pretty loud and boisterous before telling them to quiet down. I have always driven by this pizza location. I have been told by many friends that they have solid pizza and I need to check them out. The name is Garibaldi's in Hoffman Estates. There are two locations for Garibaldi's. The first is in Arlington Heights and the second is in Hoffman Estates. I chose to go to the Hoffman Estates location to do this review of their pizza. The moment that you walk in it has a vibe like a 50s diner. The menu has so many items on it, such as Italian beef, burgers, hotdogs, and more. They are not only known just for pizza. It was lunchtime when I arrived at the location. The lunch rush was pretty busy. Many of the people that were ordering seemed like regulars. I asked to do a slice of sausage and pepperoni to try both to give a thorough review. I waited about 10 minutes for my slices to be ready. I am not sure if they were made to order or if they were premade. I will say both the slices were huge. I first tried the sausage slice. The crust was very crunchy. The dough did not have a lot of flavor, but I did like the texture. There was a ton of cheese which was good. The sauce also had a forgettable flavor. The sausage tasted like mediocre sausage. My best evaluation would be it tasted very much like Home Run pizza. The pepperoni had better flavor, but was extremely greasy, which was to be expected. The cheese immediately sloughed off and became a pile of cheese mess. The flavor of the pepperoni pizza, like I said, was better than the sausage. I do not think I would make an effort to order from here if I lived in the area. The pizza was just average at best. I may come back to Garibaldi's and try their other items on their menu. read more

This a nice local pizza shop that has a variety of items on their menu. Their pastas are always amazing, you can order the full pizza by the slice which is nice. Their delivery is pretty great; the food always arrives HOT. The ambience is cute and decorated vintage. The prices are fair and they do offer military discount which I always appreciate My reason for the star missing is the tables are usually dirty, the music is so loud you can barely hear your number being called. My family and I've been going here for 40 years. I was there a month ago with all my kids and grandkids. Two weeks ago I went with a friend and had garlic pizza bread. It was delicious. Today I met my friend there again and we wanted the garlic pizza bread again. It was so salty we could not eat it. And you couldn't taste the garlic on the bread either. It was horrible. I mentioned it to Gary the manager and he said oh no that's how we make it all the time it's not any different. Gary made no attempt to correct the inedible pizza bread. He just brushed it off, like no big deal. Very disappointed. Gina, the lady that took our order was very nice, but Gary was not helpful at all. I won't be going back anytime soon. The sausage pizza was loaded with flavor and I really appreciate the additions made to the meatball sub. Great value as well so might as well give it a shot! I can't critique their Italian good because I haven't had it in years. I've had the turkey burger and sweet potatoes. Quite good, but most of all the staff is so hard working and do everything they can to keep their customers happy. No silly tip situation that so many restaurants illicit for grabbing your own meal. Smelled like old urine that's never been cleaned up..........Not only was the bathroom smelly as shitt,,,,, it was dirty as hell. disgusting - almost as bad as a carnival or movie theatre bathroom. The bathroom walls, countertops, stalls, faucets, mirrors, floors, soap dispensers, etc were filthy and old. The restaurant has literally not been updated in like 40 years. Same now as it was in the 80's, 90's, etc. Dated and old and run down. We ordered the hot italian grinder, italian beef sandwiches, fries, cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks. The fries and mozzarella sticks were fine. Everything else was bad. The italian beef is literally "store bought frozen". Really nasty taste and the meat was tougher and fatty. Garbage. Embarrassing if you ask me. Fit for dogs maybe. Poor quality meat and seasoning. Awful. The pizza was ok at best. Used to be very good at this place 20-30 years ago. Not anymore. So in summary, food has gotten really bad now and combined with the filthy slimy dated smelly restaurant, I won't be going back again ever. Pretty obvious the owners don't give a damn anymore. The marinara sauce was like watered down ketchup. How does a restaurant with an Italian name sell such a staple as spaghetti but treat it as some kind of after thought!? We started coming to Schaumburg annually for our anniversary for the last 10 years and discovered Garibaldi's on one of our trips. We do not like the traditional Chicago deep dish pizza and have found Garibaldi's to be our absolute favorite for hand tossed pizza. Not overly saucy, fresh ingredients and a wonderful crust. I used to dine in at the Villa park location often until it closed some years back - and I always miss them so today I made a special drive to Hoffman Estates just to get a tuna sub. Love a lot of their food but I especially love the tuna sub. But today's was just a close version to its predecessor in VP. While all the ingredients were the same, the bread was not soft and chewy and wonderful as I remembered. It was rather hard and I think a bit stale. The cleanliness level of the table I sat at was not up to a high standard. The floor was quite sticky and I had to wash the bottom of my sandals when I got home. That doesn't take away from the food quality by any means but I says something about the crew's dedication to a clean environment. My pet peeve about Gariabaldi's is all the trash they create. Not at all 'green'. No recycling and they use styrofoam plates and some cups are styro too. Most people only consider the food but I consider the whole experience. First time trying Garibaldi's. A bit disappointing unfortunately. Pizza arrived on time and warm, but was definitely under baked and chewy. Flavors of sauce and toppings was outstanding, so a real bummer about the crust. Plus, there was an issue where it seemed we had paid online, but then the delivery guy said we hadn't.
