I've been going to Garibaldis for decades. I knew Gary when he opened Hoffman Estates. That could be the best fast food/pizza restaurant for many miles. Steve who operates the Hoffman store, is the best manager/operator anywhere. He's always there with a kind greeting, and with a great sense of humor. You can tell his employees all care for him. (I'm not his brother or dad) The menu is great, and everything there is made to perfection. I think the Stromboli sandwich is the best sandwich in the tri county area. Great place. read more

My parents stopped here after a doctor appointment, and loved it! They got Italian Beefs and 2 side salads. The beef was good and juicy, the hot and sweet peppers were all over the sandwich, and the bread was fresh and delicious. The side salads were filled from the bottom of the container to the top! Wow, this place actually makes real pizza! It's not like 8 inches thick with the cheese on the bottom, it doesn't come uncut, you don't need silverware to eat it, there aren't whole tomatoes in the sauce, and it doesn't take an hour to cook! I'll be damned, there is a place like this in Illinois! The pizza is the correct thickness, the toppings and cheese come in the correct ratio, and overall the pizza is just about perfect. They have a nice big menu, but I haven't tried anything other than the pizza and Italian Ice, which is homemade and also very good. If you're tired of nasty, run of the mill, below average, mid-western, lasagna disguised as pizza, give this a shot! You won't be disappointed! read more

Ordered dinner on a Monday night at 7:30pm said delivery would be between 8:30-8:40 received a call 10 minutes later stating the we're out of cheese sticks said okay no problem just put the money back on the charge account was told that they couldn't do that I would have to take it up with slice received text at 8:20 saying food on the way 9:15 still no food called lady said just getting ready to leave told them to forget it would be ice cold by the time it got here great pizza needs in house delivery drivers read more

Good food but their delivery leaves a LOT to be desired. Tonight we called in an order at 6:42PM, were told it would be here "within the hour" and we live no more than 20 minutes away. The driver arrived at 7:47PM, sat in our driveway and then left. We called the restaurant and were told "the driver left your order at the wrong house--we are re-making it and as soon as it's ready we will get it out to you". This was over $50 in food, we will now, if we are lucky, be getting our food around 830PM, and the manager offered nothing in terms of compensation for the inconvenience. Sorry but in order to have repeat customers, you need to provide customer service. There are many other choices we can make for delivery food--we will be choosing others in the future based on this experience. read more

Oh my... Salad was the best Caesar I had this week for a fraction of the price of the others. Veal Parmigiana was very good. I added the meatballs and while I recommend them wholeheartedly, the only downside is it was too much food and now I'm stuffed. I know, first world problems, right? Ooh, ooh, wait YOU HAVE TO ORDER THEIR FAMOUS LEMONADE! It's a lemonade slushy and it was just right. Sure, it's hard to screw up lemonade, but you know when it's just perfect, and this was! Nice laid back place to get a nice bite to eat. Easy location to get in and out of plus plenty of parking! Nice staff to take your order. Italian beef surprisingly very good! Nice portion of beef nestled in a decent size roll. I like that it wasn't a huge hunk of bread or all bread and little beef! Perfect combination of bread with beef. Pizza can be bought by the slice. Slices seemed generous and put out fresh. They had a whole bunch of other items to choose from so there was something for everyone. Price is comparable to other places in the area. I'm not a big Italian Beef fan, much to the Hubs horror. BUT Garibaldi's is one of the few places I actually order a beef & truly enjoy it. I especially like the one that comes with sauteed peppers, shrooms & mozzarella cheese. Mmmm. Plus, they use Turano bread, which is perfect. They also get serious bonus points for having waffle fries. The Hubs likes their big pizza by the slice as well. It's not "fast food" so you may be waiting 10 minutes for your order to be ready during their peak lunch rush, but it's worth it. I like the 50's diner decor, too. read more

As soon as I walked in, I felt like I stepped back in time. The restaurant has a familiarity to it. The interior hasn't changed much since the eighties. My mom came over for a visit and I've been wanting a slice of Garibaldi's New York style pizza for 3 days now. My boyfriend and I returned to have a Pizza Burger. I should not have listened to him when he told me it's bad luck to go to the same restaurant, twice in one day, because he jinxed me. I'm going to blame him for my reason not to like their burger but I think it's more accurate to tell you that Buona Beef and The Assembly make them better. The Grilled Chicken Breast we ordered for our dog was OK. At least they don't charge us full price like Portillo's does for just a patty. My mom enjoyed her lasagna with meat sauce. It was served with Italian garlic bread. It was too big to eat in one sitting. She took half her entire order home. When my mom asked for a lid, we learned Garibaldi's uses different plates for dining in and carrying out. I should deduct a star for not being cost efficient. They can allocate the savings to better hamburger meat. read more

Disclaimer: I am incredibly biased for this place because I grew up eating Garibaldi's pizza from my school on hot lunch days. Putting that aside, Garibaldi's is a fantastic Italian fast food place. I've been going since I was in grade school and I've NEVER had a bad meal there. The Pizza: I've never had real New York pizza but I imagine this is really really close. The crust is thin, flops and bends in the front, you start off crunching into it and it then gets chewy. The toppings and cheese stays with your bite and doesn't come off the slice. The sauce is tangy but not too sweet. To me this is the best pizza in the world but then again, I'm biased. The Other Stuff: I've had the pastas, sandwiches, and burgers and they are all above average. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I heard the cheap ass owner didn't pay his taxes and was shut down for a few months. Those agonizing months as I drove by day after day craving pizza and cursing this place.... Aside from that sad anecdote, this place is AWESOME! read more

Garibaldi's service was quick, friendly and accurate. They promised the food within the hour, and guess what, even on a Saturday night they brought the food within a half hour! Talk about exceeding expectations! Then there was the quality of the pizza; perfection! The toppings were robust, the flavor exquisite, and the final product...perfection! This is our third order in a row, and we could not be more happy with everything about this local, home grown eatery which we are proud to frequent! I'm rating this 1 star because they are now CLOSED! They were SHUT DOWN in October 2010. The knuckhleheads haven't been paying their State Sales Tax, and were shut down by the state. There are big green stickers stuck to the window saying they are closed. I love their pizza, but c'mon man, pay your frigging taxes and open back up! read more

A northwest suburbs institution! I've been coming to Garibaldi's since I was a kid and am now fortunate enough to be sharing a part of my childhood with kids of my own. While the pizza is fantastic, hot and always fresh, don't sleep on other great menu items like my wife's favorite, the meatball grinder. Every time I'm in I make a point to spend a few minutes talking with Steve the manager who is always personable and generous with his time while also making sure you're getting the best dining experience. The atmosphere inside allows for a great place to meet and catch up with friends and family, watch a game or just for a quick lunch by yourself. I ordered a large pizza with extra cheese and sausage well done. The first pizza sent out was under cooked and the toppings slid covering only half of the pizza. The second one again was under cooked but covered most of the crust. The second one was very greasy as as a result of under cooking. This is very disappointing since the first one was unacceptable, one would think care would be taken in preparing the replacement. But I guess you are so busy losing one customer is nothing to you. It's 8°F, I've been driving four hours on icy roads (I'm convinced Indiana only treats the Interstates), and I finally get to my hotel. I WANT an Italian Beef. If anyone has read my other reviews, I love Italian Beef sandwiches. I live for them. Looking here on Yelp, I see Garibaldi's is close by. Let's give it a try. Garibaldi's is full of kitschy 50's music memorabilia and a huge fiberglass Elvis. And the place is empty except a family at one end watching a football game on the TV. But they have Italian Beef. And...I am undecided how I feel about it. Normally, the things come out of the kitchen wet and sloppy. This sandwich was sitting on a plate, sliced in half, and almost dry, but with cheese melted allover the top. Huh? Examining it further, the sandwich was toasted in an oven, hence the melted cheese. I believe they took the beef out of the pan it was in still wet, and placed on the bread. Oh that bread! It soaked the juices up, so it was crisp and toasty on the outside, and soft and juicy on the inside. I am happily confused. I wonder if they will dip the sandwich if asked? read more

This is a special place for me as Garibaldi's is part of my childhood growing up in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg. One of my fondest memories as a kid growing up I got to have a birthday party at the restaurant and even was taught how to make a Garibaldi's pizza. Unfortunately my dough tossing skills leave a lot to be desired at this point in my life!!! LOL!!! Garibaldi's is still in the Barrington Square Shopping Center which has changed a lot since I moved away from the area in June of 1984. Garibaldi's is still a staple and the pizza is still as good as it has always been from what I remember. The best part is that Garibaldi's slices their pizza in the famed Chicago Style which is in squares versus New York Style triangles. On this last visit on October 13, 2017 ordered a meat lovers pizza and my friends and I quickly demolished it. For my high school graduating class' 30th reunion we hosted at Garibaldi's and it was a great time for kicking off the weekend events. Glad to see that Garibaldi's is still going strong and I do look forward to having another pizza there soon!!! read more

A full hour passes and still no pizza so I call and the same woman who took my order picked up and when I told her that we had not received our pizza, she fumbled for words and then said the pizzas would be out shortly. She was highly unapologetic for obviously forgetting about my order. Another 30 min pass and still no pizzas so my husband now calls and speaks to a man who said that we had ordered for a future time. That was not true and what I suspect was a cover up by the initial woman who took our order and messed up. Worst customer service. It's nearby my house and I saw it delivered so I ordered a custom pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños and green olives and cheese sticks and a Stromboli to get the $5 coupon and first off they said it would come in an hour and it came in ONLY 30 min and the delivery guy was super friendly and sweet and then when I noticed my order was wrong and they gave me a pepperoni, Jardinara, and mushroom pizza and I called to report, they sent me a free pizza coupon for the same price of custom pizza I ordered. Event hough the pizza wasn't what I ordered, it was still supper delicious quality food I would order anytime and am very pleased with my whole experience with the company so far. read more
