It definitely has a very classic no frills kind of vibe which some people really appreciate for its authenticity. However, I did notice it feels a bit untouched if you know what I mean. I think a little refresh on the decor and some modern touches could really make the place shine. Their pizza slices are absolutely the highlight. I always see people grabbing them and they're quite generous in size which is great. Just a friendly tip though if you're planning on getting more than three slices it might actually be more cost effective to just order a whole pie instead as the price per slice seems to have increased a bit lately. Regarding drinks they're typically priced separately but they do offer a convenient combo option if you want to pair your slice with a drink and a small bag of chips. Pretty standard setup there. One cool detail I noticed was their impressive collection of hot sauces. They've got a table with well over ten different varieties so if you love to add a little kick to your pizza you're definitely in luck. I'm a bit torn about the place. While it certainly has its own unique charm. I do feel that a bit more attention to the general upkeep and cleanliness could significantly enhance the entire experience. It definitely has potential though. read more

The staff here are the kindest people i have ever met. The lady is talkative and so friendly and she greets me with a smile everytime i walk in there. The pizza is just how i like it and when i buy a drink, she gives me a bottle opener to pop it off. Its a small restaurant but they make it look amazing with decorations and a friendly atmosphere. I have not been here in years. They definitely had an owner change, not sure when. I would order your food to go. The inside of the restaurant is petty weathered looking. And there seems to be a regular following or crowd that was quite loud. The pizza slice is huge. Pretty doughy but good. The baked mostaccioli with meatballs is pretty good. I can tell they use good mozzarella, nice and stringy. Decent size portion, I had leftovers. This isn't just an Italian restaurant any more, they serve Mexican food too. I saw a few people come in for pizza carry out orders. Not sure I will go back. If I do it'll be a to go order for sure. read more

Went there 2 days ago and I couldn't believe it but I was charged $6/slice for a total of $18 for 3 slices. Used to be $3.50/slice. Not sure why so drastic price uptick but I won't be going there again. Either i was scammed or the prices online are not updated. read more

It's annoying as hell and a waste of time after finding a parking spot, walking into an establishment a lunch time, placing an order, then told as you hand the clerk you debit card that there is a $5 minimum! The reviews look good, but I will never bother because they wasted my time and I ended up going to Deli 4 You and taking my food back to work. Here's a clue Mario's Pizza: If you don't like paying the BANKING FEE when people use a debit card, THEN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER THE AMOUNT THE Credit Card COMPANY CHARGES YOU! Don't waste our time! And if there is a $5 minimum, PUT THE NOTICE ON THE DOOR because I didn't see it when I walked in! read more

went there to get use bathroom! owner had no toilet paper,locks both bathrooms had alot of customers,i leave she chases me screaming at me for dirtying her bathrooms,folks i managed restaurants for 12 yrs,you don't go chasing customers down screaming at them,i always uses bathroom s clean,the place is dirty too,go to fratos pizza,better pizza,better service!!this owner needs to treat customers better or you will lose customers!! read more

This is I think my 4th time being here and so I thought it was time for a review. Maria is so friendly and nice, first and foremost how you treat people means a lot to me. They have cheap BIG slices of pizza if you are in a hurry. When I stop in I usually get a couple tacos. FIRE. That means amazing lol. I will come back to try other things but if I keep coming back for a slice or some tacos that should tell you something right there! Diversity! Pizza and tacos are two opposite ends of the spectrum and two of my favorite foods. Highly recommend. read more

They have the BEST pizza, I always get the double dough (same as the big slices you get at lunchtime). The owner Maria is super nice, all the regulars adore her. It's a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. If you are going for lunch be warned - it gets really full with all the high school kids that go on their lunch breaks. We always try to get there before noon to avoid the crowd! read more

It's a great local pizza place. Ordering pizza by the slice is the way to go at lunch. 3$ for a slice and a drink. Very tasty, usually pretty fresh. I've also had the burrito which was very big! Expect a lot of high school students if you go during lunch hours. read more

To be honest I went to this place not giving a damn about the food. I contacted Filberts Soda company looking for their soda and they told me this is the only place that has it around here so I basically went there to buy soda. Fortunately, soda isn't all that I left with.. I went in, saw the bottles of soda, grabbed 5 flavors and was ready to go when the guy came out of the back with a giant pepperoni pizza fresh from the oven. Some guy ahead of me bought 3 slices. I saw the giant slices oozing cheese as he put them in a container. It looked great so spur of the moment...I got a slice. Slice of Pepperoni Pizza: this pizza is about the dough. It is thick and light. I swear its the same thickness as their deep dish maybe thicker and its mostly dough. Really light and fluffy with a good amount of cheese and sauce covering it. It's like eating a giant soft bread stick with cheese and sauce. For all you pizza nazi's/snobs out there. This pizza is for you if you like the crust thick, soft, and bready. If you're into thin crust, this ain't your wheel house. As per my earlier anecdote, this joint also has Filbert's Soda. You either like it or you don't and I love it so go support your Chicago soda maker and try a bottle. Basically this is your stereotypical neighborhood pizza joint. Fresh slices, soda, fast service, everything that makes it great. If you're around, stop by for a slice, you shan't regret it. read more

Mario's is tucked behind a Mcdonalds so it's a little hard to see at first but I'm glad I found it. Sometimes you just want a slice of pizza for lunch, and unfortunately the only nearby place I had found so far was just too thick of crust for lunch time. I don't want to feel like I have a ball of dough in my stomach after eating. Mario's is a good alternative. While it's not as thin of pizza as I'd like for lunch, it's still a good solution for lunchtime pizza. there's always slices ready to go. I've also tried their tacos and fries, both were good. I'd continue to try other new items on the menu if I feel like diverging from pizza. I'm sure I'll be back soon. read more

Oh no Mario! What happened?? I really hope that my last pie from Saturday evening was an anomaly! Picked up a sausage, spinach, mushroom, and onion deep dish to go - which is one of the usual go-to pizzas with my family. Firstly, the pizza was wetter than usual. The first ominous sign. Secondly, the tomato sauce didn't look right - and the taste wasn't the usual splendor that I was used to - it was quite salty. It was almost as if they changed their tomato of choice. The sausage wasn't the nicely blended sausage I was used to...something was very off. As a whole, the taste wasn't on par...it was not nicely balanced. It was just - and it pains me to say it - it was just ok. This was the first time where I regretted not hitting Lou's down the street. I will certainly give it another try for them to redeem themselves, but I was quite surprised in my disappointment. Like I opened my review with - I really hope that this was an anomaly! read more

Great price! We had 5 slices of sausage and pepperoni, 5 drinks and poppers for around 22.00 bucks! Service was quick, fresh and worth the stop. The owner is hands on with everything and it's a family run business. Couldn't ask for anything better. She remembers customers and is so friendly. Place is a lil hole in the wall next to Dairy Queen but prices is right and the food is absolutely delicious. Better than the other pizza places in the area. No skimping on sausages either. read more

We came here to avoid the long wait at Lou Malnatis. We ordered three pizzas. No other customers were in the store. It took them 50 min to make our pizzas!!!???? I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. It was one of the worst Pizzas I ever had, because the BBQ sauce was so sugary and the chicken wasn't very good either. The young guy who took our order was not very helpful and wore a dirty t-shirt. The joint had very cheap tables and chairs and no air conditioning. In all fairness we did order some calamari a which were quite good. I would not recommend this place to anyone and in fact would recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Try the double dough pizza. It is excellent! Sausage & pepperoni are my favorite. Thin crust is really good too but the double dough lets you really taste the crust & is crispy on the outside but soft & chewy on the inside. If they offered fresh red pepper as a topping we would definitely get it too. read more

One cold night we were hungry and stopped by Mario's having bought pizza from them in the past we decided to go there. We met the owner and had a conversation about how this plaza was slowing dying with Walgreen's, Ace Hardware and the bank being gone it was harder and harder to attract customers. We noticed the menu had a bigger variety such as the steak tacos and burritos. I had the steak tacos and they were GREAT. We will give Mario's our business they are small business owners who really need the support of the community to stay alive. read more

This place is awful. Anyone who likes this pizza doesn't know anything about pizza. Not only did I have to wait 45 mins for a pick up but the pizza was actually covered in orange and light brown grease that was turning into sludge. The actual ingrediants tasted cheap and gross. Never realized, of course, that they only did takeout! Ok - we wanted their "famous thin crust" pie - 14" - and added Canadian bacon, olives and green peppers to the mix. Didn't realize each topping added was pretty pricey so our midrange pie came with a Caddy price. Why are pizzas so pricey now? Lesson- one topping only next time! Ok - we were told to wait 20 minutes so went to the car to watch YouTubes (Tesla's are great for this) - but when we got this pie? Holy crud it was uber-hot! And when we got home ten minutes later?
