I love to come here whenever I finish working out at the 24 Hour Fitness 2 blocks away. Granted, it might not be the best post-workout food, but whatevers.. right? To me, Garlic Crush is my Eastside version of Lake City Gyros. However, it's not as cheap (I think LCG charges $4 for a gyro sandiwch vs GC's $6) and does not provide as big portions, but my tummy is still happy. It's a cute and quaint restaurant. I was very impressed with Garlic Crush. Not only was the lady taking orders very friendly but she knew the menu backward and forwards. When I asked her about gluten and soy free options, she started spouting off all sorts of great information like "order this without that and you can add this to that. Stay away from this and that but you'll be totally fine with these." I followed her instructions and had a great gluten/soy free meal. One thing to note was that the tzatziki was OUTSTANDING! 3.5 stars. 3 for the chicken shawarma, which was kind of dry..and lacking salt. But it did come with this really good garlic paste..probably my favorite of the dish itself. 4 for the gyro plate, which my bf ordered, and that I ate instead, it did not come with a garlic blob..sad. The lentil soup is pretty good, considering I don't like lentils much. I tried it because of reviews saying it's pretty sour (lemon, yum). Other than that, I wish the rice was actually garlic rice... I did not taste much garlic in my food aside from that blob. Simple décor inside with amazing food. Friendly staff and great for watching the hustle and bustle of Bellevue Way right outside the window. Love the seasoning of the lamb/beef schwarma. If you like baklava, you must try theirs since it is absolutely delicious. I loved that it used pistachios instead of walnuts (which is what I have normally had from other places). Food is consistently amazing. I always get one of their plates, and it comes with lentil soup or salad. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The gyro plate is gynormous, the lamb plate was a little on the smaller side, both were very tasty! I liked their lentil soup. I wish they served garlic paste with all of their dishes like some other greek/mediterranean restaurants do. Their pitas are heavenly... I try to avoid eating bread/rice with my meals but I can't resist eating the pita that comes with their dishes. The service is alright when I sit in but I mostly do take out. My go-to is the chicken shawarma and there's a salad plate for it for when I want to eat light. I've been here twice and have gotten the Veggie Mezze platter both times. This place is the BEST middle eastern food in the Pacific Northwest that I have discovered so far. Great Hummus, Falafel, Baba Ganouj, Tabouli & Grape Leaves. Also great salad and lentil soup. This is probably my favorite cuisine and I have eaten in at least a dozen other places in the area and none have come closer than this place to the authentic cuisine I expect. Update: It is still delicious, but they have changed their falafel recipe. It is no longer the crunchy on the outside, gooey and green parsley amazingness on the inside that it used to be, They must have been spending too much on ingredients because now it is just like falafel everywhere else: doughy, dry, too much flour, not enough onions, garlic, parsley, etc... Booo!!! The Hummus and Baba Ganouj is still top notch which is why I am giving them 4 stars. This is a small place and can get very packed. The food is good. Very simple, affordable Middle Eastern food. My wife had the Chicken Shawarma Plate and I had the Meat Combo. If you love garlic, hummus and reasonable prices for dinner, then this is your place. I can't wait for the new location in Issaquah to open. Because the place was so small, I felt a bit rushed. I had the beef and lamb shawarma sandwhich, and a spanokopita taster. Both were average. The price was right, and the service was very friendly. I'm sorry but this is hands down the worst Mediterranean food I have ever had. I ordered takeout and gave a significant tip because they made the food so quickly. But I was extremely disappointed. The meat was very poorly seasoned and whoever cooked it must have left it in the oven (or microwave) for too long. The bread, rice, and "salad" were really subpar. I eat here so often it's become a designated take out place when time is tight for dinner. I've easily ordered out from or eaten in Garlic crush 70 times since they've opened. One of our kids likes to special order things, extra pickles, extra hummus.... I've never had a blown order. I've never had to wait unreasonably long. The food has raised my expectation of store front mediterranean / gyro places. Honestly reminds me a little of some of the best Parisian street gyro / falafel / kefta. Yeah the person at the counter can be a little unhappy sometimes, but I can't count that against a very busy store front restaurant. I'm not there for a smile, which by the way I almost always get, but for the food and reliability. I was really excited to come here because of the high rating and good reviews, but it didn't really live up to the hype. We had the chicken kebab plate and the meat combo plate. Serving sizes were good given the price and each plate came with salad or soup, hummus, garlic sauce, rice and pita bread. The garlic sauce was definitely the best feature of both plates with a strong flavour and creamy texture. The rice, however, was pretty bland and it was so disappointing because I always look forward to the rice at Mediterranean restaurants! A little heavy on the feta, guess that's good for some people. Was ok. My teenager who loves garlic and fries only ate a few. Beef kebab plate - came with soup or salad, a pita bread and like 7 small chunks of grilled meat served on a huge bed of plasticy rice and a side of hummus. Meat was tender, seasoned and grilled nicely. I only wish there was a bit more of the chunks and not so much of the overcharred (burnt) scraps. I don't believe the rice was supposed to taste like that either. I know with the white jasmine rice, there are different grades. The one we eat at home is the fragrant, good one. The ones that you can buy from Costco is the cheap, unflavorful, mushy one Americanized Chinese restaurants serve. Beef and lamb schwarma- sliced meat served over a bed of rice, drenched in sauce. I like sauce, but this one was so overpowering and there was just so much of it, I didn't even want to eat my dish. Soup - lentil with pieces of rice. Needs salt and more lentil flavor. Salad - nice, strong garlic vinaigrette type dressing to go with my chunk of romaine stem. Water - free, probably the best part of my meal that i finished. Actually, 2nd best. This place is quite the Greek gem in Bellevue if you're looking for a quick pick me up. They offer a great selection of food items for both meat and veggie lovers alike. I usually get the grilled chicken platter which comes with rice, hummus and salad. Good deal for the price and healthy too! I would have given them 4 stars as the place has really started to grown on me but the fact that they don't really pay attention to their food quality/temperature near closing time is quite disappointing. We got there around 9:30pm (30mins to close) and ordered Garlic Fries which are super east to make but I guess since there stoves were off they arrived super cold and undercooked with garlic sauce and feta sprayed all over the top. I returned the fries after only eating two and they knew what they did wrong as they quickly apologized and returned my money. There Issaquah location is by far much better in service and quality of food in my opinion. read more

Situated across Bellevue Way of Greg's Cycle Shop this little diamond in the rough is a must try. The Menu is easily seen on the left side of the cash register where you are greeted by one of the friendliest people I have met. My mom and I had a hard time figuring out what to eat. We tried the Beef Kabob and lentil soup to go. Opening up the large bag of food I was surprised how much we got for $9. The kabob's itself was a little over cooked for my tasted (but than again I like my meat rare). The Greek salad, humus and lentil soup was delicious! Must Try: Lentil Soup and Humus! Let me start off by saying that the meat was grilled perfectly and the Hommos was good. the rice is like almost all Lebanese owned middle eastern restaurants and it was not that amazing it was just mehh....Falafel tasted home made which is good. now to the things lacking, the meat portions could be a bit bigger, and it wouldn't hurt to give 2 pieces of pita bread per dish instead of one....I'm middle eastern and I'm telling you everyone back home knows you need more than one piece of pita to eat Hommos. The Tabbouleh was not good because it was missing a few things which i would expect amazing tabbouleh from a Lebanese owned place, after all tabbouleh is Lebanese. no olives on anything....come on...every middle eastern owned place i eat at gives you olives at least one or 2....but this place didn't give any... another thing, feta should come on the salad, it should not be charged extra for. the garlic paste is charged extra for because you already get some in your dish, so that makes sense....but feta cheese is extra too? i may go back to eat...but i think i'll get a different dish next time..... You want AMAZING middle eastern food?
