I used to really love the food here. My uncle used to always have them cater our family party's because we enjoyed it so much! The last few visits though have been a bit underwhelming. Almost as if the quality has gone down hill. The chicken shawarma I ordered during my last visit was so so dry. Even the hummus and baba ganoush couldn't help it. The vinaigrette on the salad used to be one of my favorites but this time around it barely had that tangy garlic kick. The restaurant is a convenient stop though if you are in the area looking for a quick bite. Especially on a sunny day I recommend to eat outside because the inside does get kind of stuffy. read more

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful cashier who explained a lot of the dishes and how to eat the food as well. We ordered a gyro salad but I replaced the gyro with chicken instead. My friend got the beef kebabs plate which comes with a salad, fried, or soup and a pita bread! For around $10-15 depending on the protein, you get a huge portion, really enough for sharing! I actually prefer garlic crush over Mediterranean kitchen across the street but both have different kinds of environment. The food is always delivered on time and quality is consistent. I love that there is a variety of vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. I decided to go to their Bellevue location today for the first time to grab a quick takeout lunch for myself. I got a falafel sandwich combo with garlic fries. The food was good, but not particularly special as far as Mediterranean cuisine goes. I have been going to Garlic Crush for past 7 years and it is, by far, one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. In all this time, Bellevue has massively changed with all the gentrification, the strip mall it was part of has drastically changed, a pandemic has happened - but what hasn't changed are Garlic crush's excellent hummus, tenderness of chicken pieces in Kebabs, the mild but flavorful lentil soups that comes with their plates and Shawarma and the divine thick Garlic sauce they use (called Toum). My all time favorite has remained the Chicken Shawarma plate (which comes in a meat to rice ratio of 1.25:1), and the Chicken kebab sandwich. The sandwich is basically a pita wrap (but they use a thin pita for sandwiches). Through these years, their prices have remained consistent and the staff wonderful. The only disappointment I have is the pita that the plates come with- Its not very soft like I have seen at other places! Portion sizes at Garlic crush are generous, and you won't ever be left hungry. With all the gentrification going on, I hope Garlic Crush stands the test of time (as it has for past 7 years). They are quick and courteous. The restaurant is near downtown but thankfully has plenty of parking shared with orange theory fitness business center. I love ordering the gyro platter with rice as it is tender and so well seasoned. The garlic fries are also on point and loaded up with cheese and of course garlic. This place is so reasonably priced especially with the amount of food you get that I'm not sure how anyone could ever feel like they're getting ripped off. I usually order the Gyro Salad, which is a hearty salad, with your classic gyro toppings. I never finish it in one sitting, as the portion is massive. I've also had the Chicken Kebab Plate, which is very good, with tender chicken breast pieces over rice, hummus, garlic paste, pita bread and a choice of a side salad or seasonal soup. And the garlic fries are worth the upgrade for any combo. The garlic fries are smothered with the famous garlic cream sauce and feta and will have you keep eating another fry and another fry and another fry. But really, anything you order here is delicious, as everything has robust flavor. I've come during peak meal times and the place gets packed in this small space. Patio seating is available when the weather is nice, where they allow dogs. There's a parking lot on the side of the building Garlic Crush is located. And if you plan to get a to-go order, I recommend calling ahead of time as many others are also picking up their to-go order, too. So if you prefer extra protein with your salad, stop by while they last! Update: thank you Matt for your response. It is true that we were given a refund without issue. The real issue here (besides the bug) was the indifference that was displayed by the employee. I can't say this is indicative of anything but it made us choose to leave despite enjoying the meal up to that point. After ordering from the menu on the wall, we sat outside. It was a little awkward because the front of the establishment has a slight downward slope. I was sitting higher than my hubby. The traffic outside was not pleasant, but was conducive to this casual setting. We ordered the garlic fries and baba gannouj, which came with warm pita bread. The fries were hot and crispy and topped with some sort of garlic sauce and small bits of fresh feta cheese. Delicious! The baba gannouj was silky and creamy, and as advertised, garlicky. Perfect! I had the beef and lamb shawarma which was topped with rice and had a side of hummus. Perfectly spiced and way too much! As much as I loved it, I brought most of it home and can't wait for a second session with it! He had the grilled lamb. It was also served over rice and a side of hummus. He said it was amazing. This is just another type of fast food Middle Eastern food. The lentil soup is the best, the rest is just OK. Just like the rest of these type of restaurants in WA, you get a small piece of Pita bread...?? not enough to even finish up the dish with so you can order more and pay for it....Pitta bread is so cheap, Pita bread for us is like chips and Salsa in Mexican Restaurants. This used to be one of go-tos when I lived in Bellevue, but it's been a while since I've been back. Great quality and portions while being not too expensive. Although, I think the prices have risen by a few dollars since last time I was here :(. I always get the chicken kebab plate. It comes with a side of salad or lentil soup. The lentil soup is REALLY good. It's nicely seasoned in addition to the tartness of lime juice to cut through the savoriness and salt. Although, I usually get the salad to balance my meal. The salad isn't anything special unfortunately. The chicken kebab plate comes with a hot pita, hummus, scrumptious garlic paste, and well-marinated, juicy grilled chicken on a bed of saffron rice with some grilled onions and peppers mixed in. I don't know what taking crack feels like, but I bet it'd probably be similar to eating a piece of grilled chicken with the garlic paste spread over it. Big fan of their hummus too, and the rice can be hit or miss. I rarely finish the rice because it's just too much food for me. Just a warning that sometimes the rice comes undercooked, which should be avoided at all costs. Chicken Shawarma Plate and Beef Kebab plate. The beef kebab was better, but still not amazing. Both meats were not that flavorful, the beef was a bit better than the chicken. The rice though, tasted like minute rice. No bueno. Hummus was ok/average. Came with pita bread. Prices: The entree plates are the larger meals on the menu. They were about $10-$11. I think that's fairly reasonable. The sandwiches/gyros were $6.50-$7. Overall, it was ok. I would come back to try a gyro next time, but not out of my way to. I feel like it's ok for lunch during work too because I don't expect to eat amazing food during this time. In conclusion, meat needs more flavor. Not too impressed with this place, and maybe it was just this location because I've ordered from the issaquah location before through Uber ways and I don't remember the meat being so dry when I ordered the beef shwarma plate. This one here was dry, and not too much flavor. Even their hummus wasn't that great. Everything looked good, but looks can be deceiving. I also was not to happy to find out that they didn't include a fork with my meal since it was a to go order through Uber eats and I didn't have one at work.
