Ambiance and location get high marks here. The patio is spacious and has excellent sun protection. Table setting and service was good although we were seated late for our reservation and it took a long time for our server to visit us. Complimentary bread and oil and vinegar was a nice touch. There is a vast selection of wine from the winery that is available at the café. Tasting flights are not allowed, which I actually thought was a great choice. It prevents the café from becoming a tasting lounge, too. The main thing that I focus on when going to any restaurant is the food. And this is the reason for 3 stars. I really would have liked the soup, salad, and sandwich combo. However, the sandwich choices are limited to three, all of which have meat on them. I inquired with my server if I could substitute the veggie burger for the meat burger (which is a choice for the combo) and I was told no. The veggie burger on the main menu is cheaper than the meat burger, so I do not understand this limitation. There needs to be a vegetarian choice for the flagship combo on the menu. Overall, my party chose a Margherita flatbread and the grilled cheese. The food wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't bad either; it was just average. You will probably enjoy your food here and the menu choices are many. read more

My experience at was great. Made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon. Sat a table in front of the pizza oven and starred at all the fabulous food we didn't order. Loved how the staff let us take our time with no rush. My friend and I shared the pepperoni pizza which was fabulous. I almost bought a 2nd to take home. We also ordered the calamari. It wasn't overly breaded, and came with a nice dipping sauce and lemon. It was still good, but not exactly what we expected. Especially with the green beans on top. We enjoyed the mimosa flights. 4 little glasses with different flavors. Great to have with the meal, but next time will need to try a bottle of wine. Before leaving I had to order the creme brûlée. It was yummy. The top was warm, with a nice crack, and the bottom was a nice vanilla. Not too cold, but very refreshing. Afterwards we walked the grounds a bit by visiting the tasting room and looking at the bocce ball courts. Will definitely be coming here again. read more

Was happy to make Garré my first dining experience in 214 days since COVID began. They are only taking reservations for the cafe, limiting the number of people that are outside. The smoke had cleared and we scored a 11:30 reservation and got placed in the back area of the patio. Tables are at least 8ft apart and you forget there are other folks there which is nice. Rosie our server was awesome, very attentive and took good care of us. Food arrived quickly and the sauce was creamy and flavorful. Huge chunks of chicken and prosciutto! They bring carafes of water and ice tea refills so they don't need to grab your glass and limit a trip to the table. Their Chardonnay is delicious and should have gotten it, but I got the mimosa flight. The menus are their normal reusable laminated ones so you can totally study before you arrive if you don't want to touch them. I almost got a special but stuck with my carbonara. They handled everything so well by having sanitizer at the entrance, servers wearing masks and gloves, and other diners wore their masks as much as possible until they ate. One of us went to the bathroom and there was a private event happening which was by the bathrooms so it made waiting in the hallway a little challenging (I hold it till I get home lol). I could tell the servers gloves were being changed frequently (there were different types being used so it was distinctly noticeable). I've been strict in not going out since SIP and very worried to do so, but I highly recommend this place to ease your fears. read more

Have been to Garre Cafe several times now over the years, we always opt to sit outside in the deck area. This last visit on Father's day was no exception, I made a reservation easily enough on OpenTable and the weather out was perfect for outdoor dining. There were a few groups/families seated when we arrived but the area was not full. The staff all had gloves and masks on due to covid, the were friendly but seemed as though they were still getting used to all the new operating procedures. For example when placing/taking items from our table they would at times get a bit closer than necessary, when an item could have been reached from the side of the table where there was no guest sitting. One major qualm about this visit was the amount of bugs and flies in the area, understanding we were outdoors there likely need to be some citronella candles or fly traps placed in the surrounding area of the patio. The patio would greatly benefit from added greenery on the north side of the patio where the line of sight is directly into the side parking lot, there was a folding partition divider blocking an service entrance on the exterior of the building that looked a bit out of place. The food was good, per usual, we ordered and appetizer and three mains, as well as a cosmo, and bottle of the 2016 Zin, closed out the meal with the tiramisu dessert. Dishes ordered: - watermelon salad - Pan Seared Wild Salmon | crispy stacked potato | haricots verts | sun dried tomatoes | fried onions - Roasted Mushrooms & Duck Confit flatbread | mozzarella | poached garlic -Seafood Rigatoni | prawns | salmon | calamari | mussels | saffron-tomato broth | shaved parmesan Food was great, and the house made focaccia is always delicious. Was invited to a family event for lunch and had our own private dining area. The service was ok. The waitress didn't go around to ask what everyone wanted to drink. The dark haired bartender with the funky colored sweater was on his phone leaned up against the wall the whole time and texting. The only time he moved was when he had to make a drink. The appetizers were delicious. The only complaints was the Garre's Famous Smoke Salmon pizza. I was expecting actual "smoked salmon" and shredded pieces of dried salmon with these weird bitter seeds on them. No visible crème fraiche to be seen. First off, let me say that my wife and I will be back. So here's why the review has only three stars. Cafe Garre´ has a wonderful menu with many tasty options. However, it was the inconsistency of the total experience that reduced the number of stars. Sitting outside for lunch had a fantastic vibe. Sunny day, sitting next to the herb garden was wonderful. We had cocktails that were well made and strong. So far..so good. We started with the fried olives - OMG, a must order. We tried the olives with both the aioli and oil and vinegar. Both ways were fantastic. Moving on to the main course - my wife had the strip steak sandwich, open face on a baguette. It was way overcooked the first time, so we sent it back for something that was undercooked but better. The meal lacked seasoning so it needed a heavy dose of salt and pepper. However, upgrade to the truffle fries with that (or any) meal. They were perfectly seasoned and truffled. I had the 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich. Warning - if you're not a fan of pesto, you won't like this sandwich. I am a fan of pesto, but even so, it was pretty pesto. The meal comes with a marinara dipping sauce but I ordered a cup of the smoked tomato bisque. Very rich and smokey (good!) soup - great for dipping - not sure I'd be able to have a cup of it standalone. Summary, strong recommend to order the soup with this sandwich for dipping. The combo was phenomenal! Service - spotty. When the service was around, it was very good but they didn't come around as frequently as you'd like. We had to wait forever just to get bread to dip with our oil and vinegar. This lunch was on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed so that always tells you something positive. So, to summarize, there was a lot to like but there were also elements that detracted from the meal. I'd recommend trying it out, but I'll be looking at fellow Yelper's reviews for selecting the items they do well vs. the items they do poorly. read more

So the outdoor area is lovely, but the main view from there is a parking lot. We went there so we could eat outside, but that area was full so we had to eat inside, which honestly smelled like a fish market. You know how fish should never smell fishy? Well... If my friend hadn't picked the restaurant, I would have walked out before we even sat down. The server was harried, sweating profusely and had no personality, but he did deliver food. So there's that. The food was just not very good. Who serves meatballs - Nonna's (which is Italian for "Grandmother") Meatballs - without even a hint of tomato? They were these tiny, dry, perfectly round orbs sitting in what tasted like Chili. Nonna is definitely not from Italy - maybe Cincinnati, but NOT Italy. My husband said the salmon sandwich was "just fine" and nothing spectacular. It's sad when a restaurant's specialty is the soft focaccia bread you dip in olive oil and balsamic, which was really good. I hate that I have to write a negative review, but I feel compelled to warn others. If you want good enough (ie decent) food then I urge you to go somewhere else. But to my shock the bill came at the end and it cost $72...Is that a joke? Should I laugh or should I cry of second hand embarrassment at whoever thought it was worth that amount? Great place! Came here with my wife and kids for our Anniversary. Was able to make reservations last minute on open table. Inside was very nice, cozy and upscale! Food was great! My wife got the filet mignon and everything came out perfect! Steak melted in your mouth, and the veggies were cooked and seasoned so good. Our kids enjoyed their food. My daughter got the cheese tortellini, and my son got the chicken tenders (which I had to take a bite and they were both amazing). Their pizzas also looked good! Will definitely be returning here. Hubby and I were here for the Wine and Wags event, and we were hungry so we decided to get some lunch here before getting more wine! They have a really nice spacious outdoor area that is dog friendly! They do take reservations, so if they're busy and you are a walk-in, you may have to wait a bit. We ordered the Poke and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup. We especially liked the sandwich and soup. The service was great! Our waitress made sure to bring a bowl of ice cold water for our dog and was very friendly. We also asked for more bread which was promptly brought out to us. (By the way, be careful not to go overboard on the bread and save your appetite! It can be tempting...) We didn't order any wine here since we were gonna go have more tastings after, but it seems like a nice place to come eat and drink and relax with your dog. Our waitress told us that in the evenings they bring out heating lamps, so you don't need to worry about being too cold outside! Overall, a great experience. Our family had the pleasure of dining at the Garre Cafe yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The venue was awesome and the food was served hot and delicious! We had the amazing Fried Castelvetrano Olives & Fritti for appetizers. Our entrees were the All Natural Cowboy Burger, Blackened Salmon, Nonna's Gravy and the Pan Seared Wild Salmon. All in our party loved their choices and not a bite was left on a plate. To close out the evening our waiter, Arturo continued his fantastic service with a beautifully crafted plate of pistachio and cream filled cannolis and a birthday candle. The name of the game for my Saturday with the girls was leisurely and off the beaten path. Garre Cage delivered on both. We opted to dine later on a Saturday afternoon on the patio. It was a 100+ day, so you might think that would be uncomfortable. Not so. All the patio tables have umbrellas. They are close enough together that there is very little shade. With a cool beverage in hand, and the shade, the heat becomes almost enjoyable. I started with ice tea. My friends and I split a charcuterie plate before delving into the risotto (me) grilled cheese and a salad. I should have know better. The charcuterie was good, but actually a bit too much for us. I find that often when you add to a dish, it's because the base is plain. My risotto was serviceable, but didn't really have much flavor. I was envious of my friend's salad - no, I didn't want lettuce - she added the ahi tuna. It was lovely and cooked just the way I like. Next time I will know. the tomato soup my friend had with her grilled cheese fell into the same category. Why we both had hot food on such a warm day I don't know except that we like what we like. Service was friendly, but a little slow, especially in terms of getting the check. they have plenty of parking and the cafe, tasting room and event space are spread out. Location is charming, but the food was mediocre at best. We made a reservation, but the table was not set, as in we were brought plates and utensils and had to set it ourselves. Bland roasted mushrooms and (not) duck confit pizza came without...the mushrooms. I pointed that out, and the pizza was returned to me covered with large cold RAW mushrooms. Seafood pasta had cold penne served with hot chewy (reheated) seafood. Also lacking flavor, any seasoning or herbs. No attention to presentation, and dishes roughly assembled from clearly reheated ingredients. Anyone who has been to the Mediterranean would not call this cuisine. Sadly, I had dinner here 4 years ago, and remember it being much much better. I wouldn't drive all the way out here for mediocre food. read more

We ordered a bottle of the sparkling wine (so yummy, will definitely be back for a tasting), fried olives (this was completely new to us), carbonara and sole. Our waitress (I'm sorry I forgot her name but she was wonderful!) brought out birthday cannolis and they were so yummy! My partner and I were pleased with the staff, food and environment.
