I think the first issue was over seating & not having enough staff, who were all very apologetic but young. The fish tacos were average, over crispy corn tortillas & one small piece of fish w a ton of slaw & mango salsa which were great to cover it up. Market veggies as a side for a $4 up charge were inedible had our water returned after the runner dropped our food I would have asked for a return, which I never do. Came here on a Saturday for lunch after our half marathon. The parking signs were a little confusing but we were able to park across the street. We had a group of 6 and they said it would be about a 30 minute wait. The wait ended up being much longer. They seemed very overwhelmed by the amount of people in town for the race. They told us they would be able to seat us after about an hour but we would have to wait for a server. We said that was fine and it took about another 15-20 minutes before our server came. We could tell she was not happy when she got to us but she warmed up over time. The menu has a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, and other entrees. Once we ordered the food came out pretty promptly. My wife and I love checking out every brewery we can. This was our second location of Batson River we have visited, the first one being their Kennebunk spot. This was a much better experience than that one. I still classify our experience here as average and will have no desire to rush back. Overall from a wide variety of times trying beers at their locations, other bars, and cans at home I have not been super impressed by any of their beers. A few have been decent but in general I will grab beers from other Maine breweries before. Service wise this visit the host and our server were friendly and attentive although wait times at moments were long. The whole ambiance of the spot is a bar that feels more home like than the average bar. The fish camp aspect fits well too because all the fish mounted on the walls too. Lastly food wise it was all decent but nothing I will remember long term. We started with the venison tostada nachos that were good but I expected a little more with the venison. For our entrees I got the fish & chips while my wife got the burger. Maybe they forgot but didn't ask how my wife wanted the burger cooked, it was a little more done than she wanted. Both our fries were under seasoned. With so many breweries/restaurants I have enjoyed more I am going with the three stars. Honestly if you are in the area and looking to try it out, give it a shot! I love this place! We stumbled upon it on a trip to Maine. It's really cute and funky inside with different vibes in different rooms. I started off with one of the fabulous cocktails, which one, I don't remember! But it was tasty! To start off, we got the duck poutine, which was ONG unbelievable! I still dream about it. I got the lobster which is hot buttery and delicious and my friend got the fish tacos, which were also outstanding. Our server was really nice and very efficient. If you are looking for holiday fun and a place that's packed full of holiday people- this actually is your place! I had the burrata salad with chicken, WAY over priced for what it was and the chicken had zero flavor and was dry. Overpriced $8 add on. My other half got a burger and his stomach was in knots the rest of the day. I don't know what they use as burger meat, but it wasn't great. This was my first time at this Batson River location and I can say it's almost the same as the other location. Menu is fairly the same and had plenty of options. My go to is the wings with a side of the sweet chili sauce. Our server was fantastic as she kept checking in on us and made sure we were set. The location was nice and had outside dining, however it was fairly smaller than the other locations. I would highly recommend coming here! read more

Date night. Beautiful night to eat outside. Great location and is easy to drive to from Route 1. Plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very attentive and the menu was diverse enough to meet our dietary needs. I truly enjoyed the mushroom pizza and found it very flavorful. Full bar and local brew options. Last weekend we made a trip to Wild Bevy Brewing in the barrels had drink and after came over to Batson River fish camp for dinner. We waited like 15 minutes and were seated at a high top we ordered my wife got the steak and was awesome, my friend wife got Salmon and it s was amazing, my friend got a pepperoni pizza and it was awesome and I got mussels, nice portion but the broth was like warm water,had my buddy's wife try and she said it's missing flavor!! The drinks were an absolute joke , seemed more like a Cosmo shot. The charcuterie board was amazing and plentiful, however the fish tacos were a lacking any real fish ... maybe 3 quarter size pieces. We are locals and would have loved a better experience but will definitely not be back. read more

Followed up a week later, still have not heard back after 14 days. Really delicious Buffalo wings (some of the best I've had) and a decent lobster roll (get it cold with butter on the side for double the fun). Super cool "fish camp" vibe too. Just incase you are hot in the summer and would like to enjoy some cold water before your meal , don't come here, they serve you warm tap water and you have to ask for ice to make their gross tasting warm water cold. Not going to order food, not sure if the cold items will come out cold or the hot items will come out hot. This is a hard pass for our group. We will be leaving to get the basic standard at another restaurant. I don't understand how they have more than 3 customers. Pretty sad if you ask me. Go somewhere else for literally anything. Last I checked Fish Camp was in the hospitality business. I completely understand that you may have a staffing issue and there may be longer wait times, but the overwhelming sense of authority and the talking down to by the bartender was some of the worst I have ever encountered. Their overall demeanor was uncalled for and they made a horrible drink to boot, food was good yet was overshadowed with the poor interaction with the bartender, who was not even serving us. Very rigid with their "policies." They seem to feel they are operating a Michelin-star rated dining establishment, rather than a sports bar/ brewery. At least 4 parties were unable to be seated at already set tables due to 1 or more people not having arrived. ( mostly due to insufficient parking.) Walked in for some to-go to bring back to the room and have some drinks while we waited. We were a little early for the dinner rush, so there were bar seats available. Staff were very busy but on top of our drinks and food orders. Specialty drink was so good that we are still trying to master it at home (snowbird), and the drafts were on point. The room was just the right level of dark and had an awesome fiber optic ceiling that gave you the feeling you were under the stars twinkling at night. Food was outstanding. Sad to see that the fish and chips was rolled off the seasonal menu but the fish sandwich was epic. Strawberry rhubarb salad was amazing, the dressing was unbelievable, and the steak and cheese was devoured by my picky tween. I've been to the Kennebunkport location, and now this one. I love their whole vibe. It reminds me so much of mid 2000s Abercrombie. They were playing a great playlist (tons of Taylor swift non hits). They have so many pretty mocktails and losts of beer choices. The foods a little more adventurous than you're regularly bar food, but we enjoyed what we got. To start, our waitress was very good. So what I review has absolutely nothing to do with her. This was a party of 5. We have been here several times within the last 4 years. Tonight we experienced our first disappointment. I put this on for a review for the owners/chefs to know what happened. When we ordered our drinks we were told there was no mint for a cocktail. A typical Mojito. Our cornbread in duck fat was completely burnt on the bottom, (2 orders of it), that we had to cut it off every single piece. The red cabbage slaw with the fish and chips was dry....absolutely not a drop of dressing on it. Literally shaved red cabbage and carrots with no spice added. We were expecting a good mayonaise slaw. None of the "slaw" was eaten by the members who ordered it. This seems minimal but it made an impact with us all as we have been here before with no issues. We were just very shocked about the slaw and the burnt cornbread. Also we saw at least 3 other tables complaining about the food that was served to them, one being the cornbread again. Our waitress gave us the bill and the cornbread was taken off our charge. We won't be coming back for a while, but we will give it another try at some point. read more

I Made reservations Saturday for 9 people at 4:00 pm for 5:00 pm and we were accommodated. Upon arrival we waited less than 5 min and table was ready. Everyone enjoyed the food - I send my fish taco back as it was blacken which was very salty tasting another in the group got it and liked it. They accommodated me and I got a smash burger in place of it and that came out immediately. We ate- chicken, steak , fish , burgers ,everyone was happy with their meals. 3 of our guests split a bowl of clam chowder just to get a taste - all loved it. We parked across the street as the parking lot was full on Saturday night . The check came quickly and plates were cleared. Stopped here twice while on vacation. The first time we got lobster rolls to go and grabbed a beer while we waited. Both beers we ordered were very good and the lobster rolls were even better, the spicy pickles they serve with the rolls are nearly life changing. Within walking distance of the Holiday Inn express this was an easy choice. Very bohemian Mainey interior with pleasant wait staff. Tried a couple of free beer samplers and went with an excellent NE IPA for $8 which is pretty standard cost. It was a Friday and Fish n Chips was a $20 special, my wife had it and it was excellent. The fries were basic thin cut but the fish itself was fluffy and not greasy. I went with the lobster bisque that reminded me of chops grill (Royal Caribbean) at $15 it was a smallish serving but very tasty. Followed that up with Lobster Mac n cheese for $32 that came with a couple of claws and some lumps throughout. Seemed like home made pasta shells and was just the right amount to eat every bit of it. Served in a piping hot skillet it hit the spot. My kids had a Mac n cheese and a cheese pizza which they seemed to enjoy. 2 adults and 2 kids was $125 before tip. The place looks awesome decked out for Christmas. We sat at the bar and despite it being slammed the service was good. The food is excellent as are the beers.
