Yan is the man of the hour. Not only reliable, but after coming to the residence to check out our appliance, he assessed the estimated cost of repair and labor would be somewhere in the $400 range. Then he actually paused to think about if there was anything else he could do. A half hour later Yan figured out how to reset our digital panel and viola our appliance had been repaired. How much did this cost, you may ask? Only the initial $50 for the visit. Such a great guy! I was prepared to pay well over $50 for the cost, his time for the service and tip. I called them to get an estimate on my fridge leaking to the floor but no one picked up, so I texted them as the voicemail said. They responded within 5 minutes and gave me a quote of how much he would charge but said that I could probably do it on my own if I wanted. They walked me through over the course of a few days and helped me fix my fridge on my own free of charge. They had absolutely no reason to do this for free or even be kind enough to follow up but they did and I'm extremely grateful. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I came here, because my dryer no longer got hot. I talked to a man at the store and told him the dryer wasn't heating. He said it would it $20 for an in home visit. He said the problem could cost anywhere from $60 to $125 dollars to fix. I really needed my dryer fixed so i went for it despite the low ratings. I made an appointment at 5pm, the earliest available, for the same day and gave the man my number. At around 2pm a man called me. It was a different man for the one I met at the store. The man at the store looked like the son to the man fixing my dryer. I was surprised that they called earlier than expected. He looked at the dryer told me the heating coil had burned out. Said it would be $55 to fix. So I was thinking $55 plus the $20 for the visit $75 to fix my dryer. Still cheaper than the trips to the laundromat. Fifteen minutes later, he called me over saying he was done. He showed me the burned out coil that was in my machine. I asked how much and he said $50. I was happy to pay him the $50 since it was cheaper than I expected. The man left and I started to wash clothes =) read more

I hate leaving reviews or complaining but I just want to warn anyone who might do business with them. At first it was a great experience, he came to my house and gave me solid advice regarding my LG refrigerator. So, instead of buying a new fridge, I chose to get a new compressor expecting them to help. Compressor arrives, I ask them if they can help today or tomorrow. They reply "My dad said if he has time tonight, if not tomorrow." The day goes by and I dont hear a thing from them, even after texting him to confirm. I should have taken it as a red flag but I figured they just got busy and wanted to give them a chance. So next day comes by and I called first thing in the morning to see when he can come out. He replies on the phone that they won't be able to ask his dad till the afternoon. Again I hear nothing and message him at 1pm and he now says he will he there at 5ish. 5pm rolls around and still no one, no call, nothing. I get impatient and call and message him at 5:30pm to see what is going on. No answer and no response. I call a few more times but nothing. Now it is 9pm and I have a compressor sitting inside its box and a broken refrigerator still. I rather hear a no from a company then be ghosted by them and sitting here wondering if someone is going to help me or not. So moral of the story please avoid them, if you actually want someone to help. read more

Called to see if I can get a tech out to check out my fridge that took a dump on me. While on the phone the tech on the phone asked and answered fully. Felt like a free tech support from LG or something, he didn't have to do all that and was honest on what it'll cost to fix my fridge.(expensive) Before calling I already did my research online about LG fridges and how thier Compressors going out only after about 2 to 3 years. He pin pointed it to my compressor says that LG is known for that. I am also mechanically inclined so while on the call I had my machine already opened up and he guided me to touching some coils and what the meaning is if it was hot n or cold etc.... So all in all I have not had these guys come out but in the future they will be on first on my list to call due to the honesty and willingness to help for free. A Rarity these days. read more

Dryer went out over the weekend, I needed to get it repaired fast. I called them on Saturday and voice message stated to text for a faster response. I texted the issue with the dryer, make and model and got a quick response. We scheduled for Monday repair (MLK day) Technician text me to give me a heads up that it being MLK day, some parts stores may be closed for holiday, but he would keep me posted, which he did. Thankfully parts store was open :) He came out to service they dryer showed me the damaged part and replaced it quickly, pricing was good. Overall great experience. read more

I called and left a message for a service request for my dryer. I also texted them as instructed. At first it took a while to receive a response. I guess a business is good, it would be busy. So I set up an appointment and told the repairman that I guessed my dryer needs the rear drum bearing replaced and I have the part I mail ordered. So he said it would only cost $40 to replace the part. But if the entire kit needs to be replaced, it would cost $80-90. This price was better than the other quote I got. When he arrived, he found that the problem was not what I thought and he repaired it for $20. He said he did not have the part I need and if this dryer's part gets worn out, possibly in a few months, I can order the $10 part online and he would come to replace it for $50. Do not, under any circumstances, use this company. I made an appointment with them 5 days in advance. On the day and time they were supposed to come, no one arrived. 30 minutes later, still no one, and still no phone call. Finally, nearing the hour-mark, I called them, and the woman answering the phone had such a bad attitude. When I asked her where the repair tech was, she said he "just" left and wanted to know if I still wanted him to come. I said, of course, but I'd like to know if he's coming soon or not. Then she hung up on me. I started calling around other places because I figured they weren't coming, when the tech called about ten minutes later. Instead of identifying who he was and where he was from, he gruffly asked, "Where do you live?" right after I answered, "Hello." So of course, I'm thinking, "Who is this nut job who wants to know where I live?" After I realized who it was, he then tells me he's going to be another 20 minutes later (this would make it almost an hour and a half after the appointment time). Then the real kicker is, when he finally arrives, he looks at my freezer (which had stopped working), and after about 20 seconds he goes, "Nothing wrong with it." I keep telling him it doesn't work right, and the food gets spoiled. I ask him isn't he supposed to do some tests to it or something? He gets mad, and then says, "Go ask Sears," packs up his bags, and leaves. This company is so unprofessional and so clueless, I have no idea how they stay in business. I've never written a review on Yelp before, but felt so compelled to write about my experience to spare someone else a similar experience. Our reliable 20yo Whirlpool dryer finally stopped heating so it was time to look at Yelp. I found one repair service that really stood out from the rest but I always like to check out at least two. I texted both and asked for an estimate based on the pictures I sent. Both suggested the same solution, a thermal fuse, but the costs and house call fee were a lot less with Garvey Appliances (the house call fee is waived if you do the repair). I made an appointment with Hein by phone call and he arrived a 1/2 hour early! How often do you see that? He replaced the fuse and charged what he quoted. Hein also looked at our washer and the agitator dog washers had worn out (which we would have never known) and he said we could do it for cheap by ordering the parts online or he could do it; of course, we had him do it and it was very reasonable. The wife wanted a new machine with new technology and a huge price tag but I had a hunch that old school technology would trump if the repair was reasonable and Garvey Appliances makes it worth fixing with their great prices. When Hein said that the older American made machines are more durable and less maintenance than the new digital ones, my wife finally stopped bugging me. read more

BAD! BAD! BAD! really bad customer service.... do not waste your time to call and considering this crappy company. I called last Tuesday in the morning at 9AM and no one answer the phone and I left a mssg. I waited for over an hour for their call but I didn't get any call from them so I called them again and the lady told me someone will be coming at 1 PM. I waited till 1:30 and no one arrived. I called again and the lady was just telling me that she'll try to call the technician. she didn't even call me back to let me know if the technician will be coming or not. after hours of waiting and made so many phone calls, they didn't even show up, and I had to reschedule for today. They supposed to be here at 10 AM today but the same thing happened ,they didn't show up and seems like they didn't remember to put me on their schedule and kept telling me that they can't reach the technician after I waited for hours..
