Great work by Alex on my 17 year old Whirlpool clothes dryer. Dryer was not drying clothes completely for a while and had to add time to get them totally dry. Alex came by checked things out. First he checked to ensure the washer was spinning out all the water completely from the wash cycle, and it was. He troubleshooted the dryer and found that the timer was bad and needed replacing. Holy smoke Alex is the real deal. So my refrigerator at home had been making sound for few days and suddenly the fan in the freezer section suddenly stopped working. The same morning I called Alex's number on the Yelp page at 8 AM and he said first texting him pictures of my refrigerator and model/serial number, WIthin a hour Alex replied and said he can diagnose our model and arranged the same day appointment at 11 AM. Alex was very friendly and did some testing using his analytical tools. He was able to figure out the issue within 15 minutes and said ice is causing blockage on the fan. He instructed me to unplug refrigerator for at least 48 hours and to leave the door open for a quicker defrosting process. Housecall/diagnosis fee was $30 with the fee waived with repair. Alex did not charge any additional repair fee in my case and my refrigerator came back alive after following Alex's instructions! My Mom's refrigerator freezer went out on her all of a sudden, and I immediately searched for a repair person to call. Luckily, I found Alex on Yelp, and gave him a call. He responded promptly, and asked for the make and model of her refrigerator. I was able to get an appointment with him the following morning, and he alerted me when he was on his way. He said it was $30 for house call diagnosis, which he'd credit towards repair cost. Shortly after inspecting the freezer, he diagnosed the problem as a defective defrost module assembly. He was able to replace it during the same visit, which was such a relief! However, my Mom's Amana refrigerator was over 20 years old, and he said that it was difficult to predict how long it may last. The new replacement part worked perfectly, and he even followed up with us the next day to make sure everything was okay. The Yelp reviews are real. I called Alex on Friday, two days before Christmas because my refrigerator just stopped getting cold and I lost about $500 worth of food (ouch). He was able to fit me in the next day, yesterday, even though today is Christmas Eve. That morning he messaged me to confirm I was on the calendar. Then he messaged me when he was on the way. I really appreciate these updates because it can be a pain to sit around waiting with no clue when someone will show up. He took a look at the fridge, a Whirlpool, and told me it wasn't defrosting and showed me all the ice buildup. And yup it was almost totally blocked with ice. He suggested a free solution of just unplugging the fridge and letting it defrost on its own for a day or two. I appreciate him not trying to squeeze every dollar out of me and would have taken him up on it, except that Christmas was in a day and a half.
