I got the taco dog and the rodeo dog and both were delicious and both were only three dollars apiece! I got two hotdogs for six dollars, which is such a deal! Also, the two girls that waited on me were so sweet and helpful! This place...

A classic hole in the wall joint...tiny, old....but they found something they do right....hot dogs. I was able to get 3 loaded dogs and a Dells lemonade for $7.75 - what a deal! I was in town for work, yelped this place and glad I did. Basic actual wiener, but the toppings were great. Soft bun, easy to eat...they suggested celery salt...made it over the top. Thanks. Ohh yeah....CASH ONLY. ATM across the street.

Gary's has gotten more expensive with a lack of general quality, namely cold hot dogs. Okay so it seems like I am putting a big emphasis on whether the dogs are warm, hot, or cold. But it is a big deal when you're going to a place like this which is all about a quick meal. Maybe I wouldn't say anything if it wasn't more pricey? I think I would, I was more concerned whether the dogs had some warmth to them than I was their price. I think I'm being a little kind with the 3 stars, but two seemed a shade too short. I could have complained and had them warmed up, but the place is still so cheap that I would have really felt bad doing that.

This place is great hot dog joint. We were in the area from RI and decided to give it a try. It is not a RI Hot Wiener, but that is okay. You can get it dressed up to look like one if you like. So, you do have the ability to make your own and add all of the various toppings that you like. They were cheap as well. So they deal in volume and there was a line when we got there and one when we left. If I am back in the area, I will find my way back.

For a quick and cheap lunch, this is the place to go. When Abner hankers a dog, this is where we go. He likes the linguica dog. Since I'm not into hot dogs that much, I usually get something else...like the chicken salad sandwich or a stuffed quahog. read more

I just read 1 of the google reviews and some guy Arthur used "pricey" and "3$" in the same sentence. Ha ha cheap bastard.. Anyway, I've loved the hot dogs from here for as long as I remember ... And I could afford them with my money earned as a papergirl so their not "pricey" lol read more

I often find myself walking the dog right past gary's best, and all of a sudden i am hungry. I think its like 80 cents for a hot dog with the works. There is always plenty of seating outside, but some of the picnic tables were not well designed. The proportions are all wrong. And I think they should of used a better substrate on the ground, the dog is not a fan of the wood chips. But hey, they are hot dogs and they are cheap, as they should be. read more

Fantastic hot dogs! Business is located right next door to a funeral company but when you're their you don't even notice. $5 can completely satisfy you and your friend at Gary's Best they have picnic tables out back which aren't the worst but certainly not the best but hey you're at a hot dog stand enjoy the experience! read more

Definitely worth stopping in and grabbing a bite. I have lunch here quite frequently. It is cash only but the quality of hot dog ($0.90 per dog mind you) is amazing. Staff is great, always kind. Whenever I'm in the mood for a hot dog this is the I place to go. read more

Gary's Best is the best for a reason. Steamed hot dogs with any topping you like. They have Chicken salad on the menu & I must say it is awesome! Big chuncks of white chicken served open faced. I think it may even be Willowtree Chicken Salad which I love topped with a dash of celery salt. Honestly the small chicken salad is too big for this girl. But I do love the chili-cheese dogs /with clerey salt. Place has been the same for years and Gary's Best is an Icon in New Bedford. The prices are more than reasonable. Always liked their hot dogs but they recently advertised a job opportunity on their Facebook page looking for applicants between the ages of 17-30. When quite a few loyal customers shared their displeasure at the blatant age discrimination they didn't seem to care much placing the blame on past employees and past applicants. I did always find it pretty strange that Gary's is much more often than not staffed by young girls. read more
