Finally having a chance to share my experience about Gary's Plumbing. My business had a slow leak somewhere on the floor where water was rising slowly. Appointment was prompt as he understand the urgency of the matter.... during their extensive troubleshooting, it was obvious that Gary and his team knew their trade and had the proper equipment. He broke down the numerous causes and costs involved. It ranged from a potential slab leak, main line issues, to clogged drain lines. Needless to say, we started with most budget friendly hydro-jetting and cleanout clearance with a snake. Fortunately and so far this fixed the issue so far. All in all... Mon. Dec 21- Gary quoted me price of $295 labor and parts to repair dripping mixer valve in tub. Said he'd be here Wednesday 10-1 with 30 min heads up. Wed. Dec 23- I called them at 1:00. Kody said he couldn't come until later that afternoon. Rescheduled for first thing Thursday morning. Thursday Dec. 24 - Kody came and fixed dripping mixer valve in tub. Charged $340. Monday Jan. 4 Couldn't turn water off in the tub. Gary said Kody would call before he came that afternoon to fix it. Kody showed up (without calling) and fixed it. He said it was a part that was missing a screw. He drained the hot water tank and replaced the anode rod. Charged $25. Wednesday Jan.6 - No hot water. Thursday January 7 - Gary came and using an extension cord, plugged in a temporary small tank so I'd have hot water. Friday January 8- Gary said that it could either be an electrical problem or a problem with the tank. Said that I needed an electrician to install an independent switch to the hot water heater before he could work on it "to not worry about electrocution." Scott the electrician called and scheduled an appointment for Monday. Saturday Jan.9 - I cancelled the job. (The job was done by a different plumber. Didn't need an electrician. read more

It was the second time we were using the services of the company. This time I was personally dealing with the plumber Gary and another plumber. Our shower temperature control was leaking and needed fixing. When Gary came on August 4th to have a look at the problem we chose the option of installing the new valve and that would cost $975. On August 10 Gary said he would order the new valve and it should be there in 2-3 days. Next time I heard from Gary was August 16th when he said that he had the parts ready and we scheduled the next appointment. He arrived late without telling me in advance that the time had changed - I don't like when people are irresponsible regarding appointments and my time. When they finally came the valve parts were not the right size and they had to reorder it. That's fine I understand things happen. I was being very patient all this time. Gary said he would let me know as soon as they have the new valve. On August 29th I got a notification from the company that the appointment had been confirmed with Gary for August 31st at 8am. I was looking forward to finishing this repair. But on Tuesday evening I got another notification saying that Gary had completed the work at our house, which didn't happen because nobody came in to do the repair. That was some mistake. On Wednesday I finally got to speak to Gary and told him about these notifications but he didn't even recognize that it was his company's mistake or confusion. He simply disregarded this situation and said that Thursday they'll come to install everything. On Thursday another plumber came to do the work and everything went well. He completed the repair and had a call with Gary at the end. Gary asked the plumber to get the payment. And I wasn't sure how I was supposed to pay for the job as the first time my boyfriend was making the payment and I asked if they had my boyfriend's payment information to process the payment this time. And at that moment I was verbally attacked by Gary over the phone: he even wouldn't let me explain the situation. I honestly didn't know if the company had my boyfriend's credit card information on file or if he was supposed to send them a check. Gary just yelled at me saying that he doesn't want to hear about any boyfriend, that he'd never met him before, that I'm stiffing him for money. He started accusing me of things that would never even cross my mind. That was so crazy and stressful!!! I asked Gary to give me a few minutes to contact my boyfriend so I would know how I should pay. I don't remember any other time being treated like that by any man, never mind a person whose service I'm buying. That's simply unacceptable and disrespectful!!! In a few minutes I paid in cash because the company's manager said they were not accepting credit card payments at that moment, which is very strange by the way. We will no longer use the service of Gary's Plumbing. They should learn to treat their customers with respect and also fix their communication issues. read more

I had my bathroom remodel by this company last year and I'm still waiting for them to finish I have a big hole in the wall that they said had to dry it out from a leaking pipe 6 months ago after they had repiped everything 2 months prior. Now the drywall they installed next to the shower is rotting away. Instead of putting the baseboard back behind the bathroom door the painted it white. Every time I call Gary and ask him to fix the problem he sends someone who doesn't know what they are doing. He had trainee knockout 18 X 18 inch. hole in the living room wall, while Garry was on the phone for about a hour. Bottom line their was no leak there. He wanted to knock out more hole for another $600. We told him, he did enough damage and to leave. He charge $320, never found leak & left with 18X18 inch hole in living room. Because of a flyer left on our front gate I called them to have a slow draining shower rooted. Louis showed up in good time the following day, but after looking at the standard 2 inch drain, he said he would have to come back some other time with a bigger rooter. Shady ass plumber. Sold us on replacing a valve that could have stayed on until we replaced our water heater. Had to him change it upon his recommendation and ends up causing it to leak at the water heater and new connection. After the job I could tell something was wrong when he kept checking the job. But after wiping off the problem and hoping I would not notice and try to cover up the hack job by writing on invoice that I have to replace another part. Sounds familiar? Like a short mechanic stringing you on for more money. And that's exactly what he did, asked for more money. Contacted him to come back out to fix problem he created, not a peep!! Should have know. Be for warned use this guy at your own risk. Used him on a friend's recommendation now I'm out 500 bucks and now looking to have to replace water heater earlier than needed, but definitely not going back to him for that service. read more

Gary came over on very short notice and arrived well within the time window he stated over the phone. I had a slab leak that showed up as a pool of water next to my front door. He and his assistant quickly diagnosed the problem using high tech leak detection equipment and their years of experience. Gary offered me a couple of options and I selected the lower cost option. He worked about 12 hours pretty much nonstop and re-piped the water line running from the main line into one of my bathrooms. He would not leave until the water was turned back on and no more leaks! He is honest as the day is long and his prices fair. Give him a try and be glad you did because he got it right the first time. P.S. I contacted Moses Plumbing last week for a toilet tune-up & water heater flush appointment. Gary called me at 1:30pm today to let me know he would arrive at 3:45pm which was within the timeframe scheduled. He was prompt, courteous, personable, knowledgeable and professional. He was patient with my questions while he worked. I am very pleased with the service and the affordable price. He was efficient and clean (no left over debris like my plumbers in the past.) In addition to what I contracted for he checked things over for me so I could keep an eye out for future potential problems but there was no hard sell to get it done now. The faucet to our washing machine was corroded and needed to be replaced. Gary said the charge would be $150 plus $20 for the faucet. When Kory came out he recommended also changing the other faucet and replacing the feeder lines. The second faucet would also cost $20 and the two feeder lines were $55 each. No mention was made of additional labor charges. He said it would take approximately an hour; it took lesson 35 minutes for the entire project. The final bill came to $450. It was only after I paid it and he left than I begin wondering about the charge. By my estimation it should've been $300. $150 for the visit and labor, $40 for the faucets and $110 for the feeder lines. He claims he told me, but never did, that there would be an additional $150 in labor for the second faucet and installing the feeder lines. The installation of the feeder lines is accomplish merely by screwing one end of the feeder line to the faucet and the other into the washing machine, much as you would attach a garden hose to the water source at the side of your house. His advertising reads that "if for any reason you are not totally satisfied and we cannot put it right we agree to a full refund for the repair, guaranteed". That's not what happened. I complained that the feeder lines were twisted and partially crimped and that I never discussed a second labor charge. His solution to the problem was a choice; I could either get another visit to straighten out the feeder lines (which were improperly installed) or get a $150 refund. I could not get both even though his promise, "guaranteed", is a full refund of the repair if I wasn't totally satisfied. If I opted for a second visit to unkink the feeder lines and forgo the $150 refund I was essentially paying $150 to have the feeder line installation corrected so I opted for the $150 refund. My credit card was charged the correct $300. The repair was done on April 26. My discussion with Gary was on April 27. He told me a refund check would be ready in a couple of days. With no check by May 1 I called and he said I would receive the check by May 5. In the meantime I sent him pictures of the feeder line installation about which I was complaining. I called him on May 3 to be sure he received them. He didn't respond. I called again on May 4 at which time he told me he did receive them, became irritable and abusive and ended the conversation with a reiteration that the check would be in my hands by tomorrow (May 5) and that would be the end of the issue. May 6 and no check but my credit card shows the correct ($300) charge. And those stainless steel braided hoses that he charged $55 for each of two, they can be purchased at Home Depot for less than $20 each.
