Love this company! Had a backed-up kitchen sink this morning. Called them and I was so lucky that Gonzalo was able to come out within less than two hours! He is friendly, respectful, put booties on each time he came into the house. Inspected the situation, explained my options, and we were off. 30-year-old house with a little bit of grease back up in the under-house drainpipe. He had it fixed and cleaned out quickly. When he left, there was no sign that he was ever here in the yard/kitchen, and side gate closed gently. They re-piped our whole house a couple years ago, and like a NASCAR pit crew, did a A++ job, cleaned up after themselves. Their 2nd team did an amazing job patching/texture coating the drywall -- because neither we, nor anyone who visits regularly can see where they patched it up. Two years later we are loving the "whole house HALO water filter" --our skin doesn't feel as dry and we're not dealing with horrible hard mineral deposits everywhere. Every single person I've met on this team is friendly, respectful, works really hard, and communicates well. And in the "plumbing business" -- they have got some of the BEST prices around. Good work on repipe of the house. We had a slab leak which flows out from the kitchen to the back of the house. The work was quick. They cut the pipe from the entry of the house and rerouted every single outlet. The only complaint I have was that I was not prepared for them cutting all of the drywall of the entire house to get to every single outlet. They did one day demo and reroute and another day to patch up all of the drywall. The place look like a war zone for 3 days. Please be aware that you need to clear out everything including your pets. As far as value, simplex is the least costly and they do the 0% financing with 12 month no interest. We also installed a water conditioner system and the other competitors would cost the same without the conditioner. So that's a bonus. read more

OK, so hearing you have a slab leak is a right of passage in South OC, especially if your home was built in the 90s with the subpar copper pipe used back then. You know you are going to eventually have to do a repipe, the question is do you wait until the leak damages your house or do you make a preemptive strike? When the water district reaches out to let you know you are burning through a minimum of 7.48 gallons and hour 24/7 for a few weeks, the decision gets easier. The knowledge you are going to spend a boatload of cash on something "not fun at all" is a huge bummer. Enter Simpex: they deal with this kind of bad news every day, but helped us make the best of the situation. From the first interactions with Dante the knowledgeable sales guy, to the piping / plumbing team and then the drywall team, they handled everything professionally and made the process as painless as possible. The price was right, the scheduling efficient, the workers on time and polite. Simpex told us what to expect (put certain things away, move items from under counters, area around main water line, garage etc.) and were honest in the reality that some things are going to get dusty. We expected a lot worse than the reality on this front. Don't get me wrong, it it quite a process - when you see 100 holes in your ceilings and walls, you may freak out a bit, but it was only a 2 day process. Both teams bagged and protected our home and cleaned up every night. The piping team foreman took the time to point out a few issues and walk us through questions we had. The drywall guys textured expertly - we have a few different textures on the walls in our home and they took great care to get it right. PROS ALL AROUND. We are very impressed with this team. I had two problems - one bathroom had leak from the faucet and the other bathroom had a leak in the pipe underneath the sink. When the Yelp quotes went out, half of them asked me to call even though I included the descriptions and photos. I called the first place and the guy basically said I needed to buy new faucets and then call them back to have them replaced. Maybe that is true but it seemed strange to give the solution without even seeing the problem. The second plumber came out quickly, within a day, but he took FOREVER and then gave me an estimate that was in the thousands for just diagnosis. Simpex scheduled out, which was fine with me because I said it wasn't urgent, these were minor leaks. The plumber showed up timely and was very friendly and informative. He figured it out quickly and they sent out an estimate the same day. I made a decision and scheduled for the plumber to come back out and he fixed both issues. Unfortunately, for one of the leaks, the replacement faucet was very short and too close to the sink. I tried to get used to it but it was uncomfortable so I called them back within a few days. They were understanding and said if I purchased my own faucet, they would replace it for me. I realized when I was trying to make the purchase, that it was really hard getting the right measurements so I ended up buying two, just in case. The plumber came back this morning and we evaluated both faucets before he did the final install. I forgot the name of the plumber but he was so great, very friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and tidied up after himself. I've reached out to the company several times through Yelp and email and each time got a timely response. Imagine walking on the tile floor on a Thursday morning and feeling it was really warm. The house doesn't have heated floors. Once I got past the denial stage, I knew I had to act quickly. Offered a much better price than competitors for replacing a cast-iron drain pipe. Was fast and professional, communicated well, and even put in a much-needed drain clean out Why only 4 stars? 1. He had to move my washer to reach the pipe. Afterward, when he put the washer back, he reversed the hot and cold water lines. Thankfully it's a smart washer and notified me, otherwise clothing or the washer could have been damaged. 2. The plumber asked for garage access to reach the laundry room more easily. After he left, I noticed damage on my car that I've never seen before. I am not certain if Simpex caused the damage. read more

In just two days, my entire house was repiped in pex, all drywall and stucco patched and textured, and job site cleaned up. My water was back on after day one. I called them out for a running toilet. First visit they changed the flapper, valve and tube. Didn't fix the problem. They came back 2 more times and changed gasket and bolts? Toilet still running. The 3rd visit the plumber charged me another $50 even though the toilet still ran! They never could figure out the problem and even told me if they had to come out again I would have to replace the entire tank. Finally gave up on them and called a different plumbing company who found out the toilet model and actually ordered the correct Mansfield fill tube and flapper to fix the issue. Turns out just slapping universal parts on a toilet can lead to leakage. read more

The last time I had a plumber out to change out a garbage disposer, Clinton was President and I screamed when the bill came to $300. Well, Clinton is no longer President, and that $300 charge went to $575! But, I guess that's progress. I noticed the garbage disposer leaking on Friday afternoon and on Monday morning, Jaime Garcia came out, took out the old unit, put in the new one, checked for additional leaks, cleaned up and was finished in less than an hour. We had the whole house repiped and water heaters replaced and it took them one day. They worked until nearly 9 pm and 50+ holes later, they were done. We were feeling good about the project until we then had the dry wall repair ppl come in to fix all the holes. They put up plastic sheets to seal off the different areas but the problem was when they took it down, they were in such a hurry that a lot of the dry wall dust escaped the plastic sheets and spread through all the furnishings and other areas. It's been 2 months and we are still wiping surfaces and nooks and crannies where the dry wall dust settled. I wish they could have been more careful installing the plastic tents, sealing the top with tapes and then finally removing it without a puff of dry wall dust coming out of it.
