I honestly couldn't remember whether I had been through this airport before, but if I had, I certainly didn't remember it being this large. The layout took a little getting used to, especially with the tram ride to and from the rental car area, but everything was somewhat clearly marked and easy to navigate. The giant flamingo sculpture in the middle of the airport was impossible to miss and quickly became a favorite landmark for the kids. It's one of those unexpected touches that gives an airport a little personality. We also flew out of Tampa at the end of our trip, and the departure experience was smooth and stress-free. That's about the highest compliment I can give an airport when traveling with children. One minor downside: the Starbucks in our terminal was already sold out of quite a few food items and it wasn't even midday yet. Fortunately, we were able to grab sandwiches from Potbelly, which worked out just fine. Overall, Tampa International was clean, efficient, and much easier to navigate than many airports of a similar size. We'd be happy to fly through here again.

Eventually a window seat with comfy chairs became available. The best thing I can say is that the service was friendly. It's much quieter than being in the terminal. There's a nice view of planes on the taxiway. There is a bar with a bartender. She was great in getting our soft drinks out quickly. The food offerings are limited, but good. We had a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. The sausages were good. I didn't try the scrambled eggs. The breakfast buffet turned over to lunch while we were there. There was a nice assortment of charcuterie items as well as desserts. I nibbled on a few macarons and lemon tart squares. They had other hot lunch items, but I was already full after consuming the breakfast offerings. The club is small, but mighty in the quality of it's limited offerings. The restrooms are clean.
