Our waiter, Terrance, was very attentive and kind. My sister and I ordered drinks. I got the Cucumber Margarita (so so good) and my sister for the whiskey basil smash (also really good). For the table we ordered the Brussels sprout and they were delicious. For dinner I ordered the sweet corn curry, my sister got the rainbow trout, and my mom - the Mediterranean bison hanger steak. We all really enjoyed our food. And since it was my birthday, I was able to get a free dessert - I got the cheesecake (mixed berry with Oreo crust) and it was sooo good! And we also got the flourless chocolate cake (it was good but I liked the cheesecake more). Overall, I recommend trying out this restaurant! Great for solo, date, friends/family outing. Visiting jackson from NYC, and this place REALLY lived up to its high ratings on both google and yelp. the food is VERY good. Not necessarily cheaper than NYC, but Jackson is a pretty posh place, so no big surprise there. as someone who frequently goes out to eat and finds a lot of places to be hit or miss, Gather is most definitely a HIT. the bartenders/waitresses behind the bar were super friendly too. if you have only 1 or 2 nights in jackson, you cannot go wrong with Gather. read more

We had the pleasure of dining in this gem of a restaurant last May during our trip to Yellowstone. I loved it so much I've stayed on their mailing list and from time to time I receive notices of special events. Make a reservation NOW for their Thanksgiving dinner--check out the incredible menu that they have planned!! I can't think of a better restaurant with better ambience for such a special dinner. They use the best of ingredients to create original dishes. Vegetarian options every bit as tasty as those made with meats including specialty items such as bison. I wish they'd publish a cookbook based on their exquisite food. Everyone is very welcoming, from the person who took our reservation over the phone to the servers, and that's pretty special for a spot that gets as many visitors from all over the world as Jackson Hole. We started with the Pork Bao Buns, the bao buns were fluffy, sweet works of art, the flavor combination of crispy pork belly, peppers, and kimchi was delish. We split their house salad - the herb goat cheese & dressing - OMG, the best salad we've had. I had the Idaho Red Trout dish, my new favorite fish by far. The parsnip purée was creamy, sweet & perfect consistency. Bo loved their Elk Bolognese with Waygu beef - which he almost licked the plate. Our server Julian was so attentive & knowledgable. We had the following: Starters (Smalls) -- Wagyu Tartare: very good, nice accompaniments, however they only sever 3 Celestini which, in my opinion didn't balance the volume of the tartare so we ate 1/2 and boxed the rest for home. Absolutely recommend this starter Brussels: delicious and I don't like Brussel sprouts Large plates ( Mains) --- Ssamjang: Steak was excellent highly recommend. Typically this is served with sweet potato mash, but I requested the creamy couscous from another dish and the chef was accommodating. If you ask me that made this even better. I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes Bison Brisket : if your not a fan of pot roast favors I don't recommend other than that was ok Cocktails -- Espresso Martini: good but pricey for what it is Wyoming Old Fashion: Well done. Asked for Makers Mark instead of Wyoming Whiskey which is their base for this drink. Not a fan of Wyoming Whiskey. This is our new #1 in Jackson. We've been coming for a few years and Gather keeps getting better and better. The menu is creative and full of flavor. The portions are big and the value is well calibrated for the Jackson market. I found this place on Yelp and it looked very promising. Definitely did not disappoint! For starters, we ordered the MEDITERRANEAN BURRATA CHEESE ($15 ) that came with Fig Jam, Basil Hummus, Mediterranean Vegetable Salad, and Turmeric Grilled Naan. Everything on this plate was delicious! What stood out was the naan bread was soft, lightly seasoned with turmeric, and freshly made. Also the basil hummus was really refreshing! I've never had basil hummus and loved it! While vacationing, I'm did "my best" to stay on the healthy course, so I ordered a House Salad ($10) and added the Grilled Red Bird Chicken for $9 extra. It came with Mixed Greens, Charred Onions, Cranberries, Bourbon Cranberry Dressing, and Goat Cheese. I forgot to have them hold the goat cheese (I'm not a fan) so I spent a few minutes picking the little crumbles out of my salad before I could enjoy it. The ingredients were very fresh and the chicken was moist and tender. Love the salad dressing! My guy ordered the BISON TERES MAJOR ($42) that was served with Dark Chocolate and Cashew Mole, Aleppo Spiced Potatoes, Grilled Broccolini, Chimichurri, and Pickled Red Onions. I have to say, I always found mole to be incredibly disgusting. I had it once at a Mexican restaurant and gagged. However, this place changed my mind about mole. Chocolate with meat doesn't have to be nasty, if the chef knew what he/she was doing. Well at Gather, it was pretty darn good! I kinda raised an eyebrow when I saw mole with chimichurri. These 2 don't sound like they would go together, but somehow they did! This dish really surprised me, and it was beautifully executed. Don't forget dessert! The CHOCOLATE FLOURLESS CAKE ($12) with Vanilla Ice Cream and Vanilla Anglaise was delightful! I had 2 heavenly bites (trying to stay good). The flourless cake tasted more like a dark chewy chocolate cookie. It was yummy! Our meal was absolutely delicious! The only negative thing I could say was about 2 minutes after we placed our entree orders, we decided to add the burrata appetizer. It looks like the waitress placed in the food order and the kitchen staff quickly acted on it, so we ended up getting all 3 items at the same time. It would have been nicer to get the appetizer first, but it was our fault for adding it a few minutes late. We got our food pretty quickly, so the kitchen operated smoothly. The food was excellent. Was fortunate enough to dine her twice, before and after my visit to Yellowstone... absolutely enjoyed the crap out of this place both times. Ambiance is spot on, dining inside or outside you get a warm atmosphere and views of hillsides surrounding Jackson. Location is extremely walkable as is everything in town. Was pleasantly a blend of tourists and locals. Food wise there's legit something for everyone's palate, and I especially loved the sauces (my mom ordered a side of bread on our second visit)... For starters / taps, I really loved the Brie & mushroom toast (freaking amazing flavor and texture), my girlfriend loved the tartare, my dad loved the pork buns and my mom loved the carrots. For starches, the truffle pasta is epic (I scraped the plate both times, the sauce is so good) but the vegan curry udon was a fail and a pass on our second visit. For meat, my girlfriend loves the bison with extra props to the mole. I personally really enjoyed the lake trout. My sister loved the burger but the fries were underwhelming. read more

We were really impressed with Gather from the moment we arrived. It was surprisingly busy at 5:30PM on a Thursday, and we were glad to have reserved ahead of time. The server (Bree) was helpful and friendly, made great recommendations and we were quickly brought drinks and food. It was a fun and cheerful atmosphere.
