Awesome super high-quality Brazilian steakhouse - their mushroom risotto is the bomb and off the charts! What I did was get a bowl of it, put a piece of cheese on top of it, then put hot rice and beans over it to melt the cheese. The finished product was incredible. Many amazing salad bar selections, addicting AF cheese bread and the meat was very good. Bananas were fried and wish they had a cinnamon sauce to go with them (like Texas de Brazil). I didn't know if it was wise to go to an all-you-can-eat place 1.25 hours before closing - but I made it work. This is my favorite Brazilian steakhouse. In addition to the typical salad items, I like the mushroom risotto, scalloped potatoes, bisque, and cheese tortellini. My favorite item, however, is the apple salad - I dream of it. However, most people will agree that when going to a steakhouse, the protein counts. And it did not disappoint. The gauchos started coming as soon as I was done at the salad bar. I had a bit of everything: beef, pork, and lamb. The meat was well prepared, and one of the gauchos, upon learning that I liked my beef medium rare, made a special point of bringing by those cuts. Some notable items included beef ribs, bacon-wrapped filet, picanha, and Parmesan-crusted pork. I was full quickly - even though I did not fill up on the salad bar, mashed potatoes, or bread. I did not get the latter, which is just as well. However, I admit to a weakness for the fried bananas, and, of course, the apple salad. Service was friendly. The food is good overall, but the experience was mixed. Some of the meat was only seared on the outside and remained chewy and raw on the inside, which was disappointing. The salad bar had limited food. The service was quite slow. Our server seemed much more focused on another table of two men than on our table of four. We frequently had trouble getting attention and even had to ask for our used plates to be cleared. I had visited a few years ago when the price was around $55 per person. As of June 2026, it was $80 per person, which makes the service and food quality issues harder to overlook. Needs better meat! The prime rib garlic beef or bacon wrapped were good but the flavor of the meats including lamb chops was awful! They tasted like crap! Literally! Although Gaucho's is my second favorite Brazilian steakhouse in the area, it is still awesome! I prefer its food/ sides bar to others places and the meat itself is second best to other places. Sides: The seafood coconut broth soup/ stew is the best! I would come here just for this! The feijoada isn't entirely authentic and definitely didn't compare to being in Brazil. Meats: No matter what I communicated, I kept getting really charred pieces of meat. I wanted less char but just couldn't make it happen. The flavor was great though! And there is a variety! I specially loved the leg of lamb, rib eye and picanha. The salad bar is so diverse and with pricey items such as heart of palm, prosciutto, cheese, tuna and salmon sashimi. I've always wanted to try a Brazilian steakhouse. After all these years I finally got the opportunity to do so. The experience was unique and lived up to what was explained to me all these years. The variations of meat were plenty but missing some of the more desired that were advertised, mushroom risotto was amazing, the meat service table side was exceptional, but any other table service were extremely slow (drinks/bill). Solid experience but neither my husband or I were overly impressed. The food was pretty good. The salad bar was very extensive and we enjoyed all of the options. I tried the mushroom risotto and it was delicious. We went for lunch and spent over $100 between the two of us. We probably won't be back though, only because we don't eat enough for this to be a regular thing. After two or three servings of meat, we were out of the game! First time I had dinner there was Thanksgiving with my family, their seats were NOT clean with grease all over. 2nd time I reserved for 6 colleagues at 2PM online with 1 day in advance, reservation was accepted then I got a call asked if we could move our reservation at 1:30pm, I agreed but with holiday traffic we made to the restaurant at 2PM, No service welcome to us and no one would even like to serve us nor any explanation. FYI: Brazilian Buffet price was not shown on any menus or online until we received the bill. Went this past week to Gaucho and the experience was subpar to say the least. I service was nothing above average and the meat was rarely cooked as I asked. I have been to other Gaucho locations across the US and this one does not match the level of the others. The wait staff was nice, when they came around to the table. The salad bar was definitely not up to the standard of other Gaucho restaurants I've been to. Many of the items were room temperature and not as they should have been. It was a very disappointing experience for $155 for two people! This was not including any drinks or desserts. My favorite place to take people who have not yet been. This place is the best and hard to limit to special occasions. The food is amazing, the flight style meat that comes out in waves is hot from the kitchen and always cooked to perfection. The staff is beyond friendly even in very busy times, it's not just dining it's an experience. You can tell the owners care greatly for guests and train staff well. The all you can eat is borderline unbelievable but it's not in a "get your fill and leave" it's very much so enjoy until your hearts content while they will still offer you more just to be sure you are happy. Well this is my fifth time here and it just gets worse and worse. First off they recommend making a reservation, that way you don't have to wait to be seated. So our RSVP is for 7:00 pm, but didn't get seated till 7:50 pm. Ok, no problem, but then we wait for someone bringing us water, hat was like 15 minutes longer. We had a sub par salad bar and then they started to bring out the meat. All of it was just ok to me , most of the meat was dry and the served us some stuff that seemed way too raw...oh yeah and the bill was over $400 so for that kind of money I expect something much better. SECOND VISIT REVIEW My first visit to Gaucho Steakhouse this year was with business colleagues and it was a was fantastic experience. Yesterday, in celebration of my birthday, I took the family to Gaucho for the special occasion and a change from the restaurants that we frequent. While the salad bar and service were still fantastic, the gaucho served meats were extremely disappointing. From the bacon wrapped filet to the lamb chops and everything in between, the meat was overcooked and extremely salty. I watched my daughter, a steak lover, taste her first piece of gaucho-served flank steak. The involuntary grimace on her face said it all. The meat was inedible. She pushed it away. I understand the business model here: stuff people with lower cost soup and salad and risotto and pasta and potatoes and cheese popovers, and other "filler food" so that they are too stuffed to consume the more expensive grilled meat. But serving grilled meats that are so inedible that you just don't want go eat it makes me disappointed and angry. We paid $65 for the Brazilian Rodízio experience which is all about gaucho-served meat. Instead we got a better than average salad and appetizer bar. The total bill for 3 including tip: $265 - unreasonably expensive for a salad buffet. This was a huge fail. So whoever at Gaucho in Northville is responsible for quality (or cost) controls, you just lost a loyal customer. We won't be back. read more

We went in Saturday night and had a great experience! Two people really stood out to me - one of the busboys (with an afro) and one of the meat servers (black hair combed to the left, younger). Unfortunately we didn't get their names, but their service went above and beyond. The busboy refilled our inital cheese bread bowl (which had 4 pieces) with 10 more pieces immediately when we asked for extra (we made it known that we REALLY love the cheese bread). When we asked for filet mignon, the meat server asked which one (normal or bacon-wrapped) and told us he'd have it over to our table in two minutes. He personally came back with it in 1.5 minutes. He was awesome, and we were uber impressed. The meats were great as usual - it was super fresh, especially for Saturday night. Lobster bisque at the salad bar was also delicious. And of course, the cheese bread I mentioned earlier was divine. I ate four or five, even though I knew I had to save room for the meats! I did have to take back one star, however, because one server (who we've had multiple times before with the same issue) was not very attentive. It took us 15 minutes to get his attention so that we could order dessert. Additionally, every time we come here on the weekends, this place is out of papaya cream! How can you be out of one of the most famous Brazilian desserts? So that was disappointing. But overall, great food and service (minus the one guy). I highly recommend for the metro Detroit area. read more

This was our favorite place several years ago: my daughter celebrates her birthdays here every year! So we went again a couple of weeks ago. I made a reservation, mentioning that it was my daughter's B-day. I also mentioned it to the hostess when we arrived. It was totally ignored. Not that I expected a free dessert (which used to be the case), but at least a "Happy B-day" from a waiter... The place has not changed much since years ago. It's a good thing. But now they bring you sausages and chicken most of the time instead of picanha. We were also never offered filet in any way. Or dessert. It was kinda sad. Maybe it's a sign of the times. read more
