We have been here two times now- both times celebrating our anniversary. We live in Monroe, so…read morecoming all the way here is definitely a journey, but worth it in our opinion! I'd like to take a minute and reflect on both times- the good and the not-so-good. First visit: Aug of 2025. The good: We felt very pleased with the service, we felt like our waiter and the meat guys (lol do they have a special name?) were very friendly and knowledgeable. The market was DELICIOUS. We both loved the salads, and most of the other items. I loved the little cheese breads they gave you at the start of the experience. The drinks were absolutely delicious- my husband got the bourbon drink and I got the Yellowbird. Our waiter asked us if we were celebrating anything right away, so we felt like they understood the importance of us having an enjoyable and pleasurable experience. They gave us a complimentary cheesecake for dessert with a gorgeous and thoughtful plate that said "Happt Anniversary." They truly helped us feel special and celebrated on our first wedding anniversary. The not-so-great: When we first had arrived, we did let the host know we had a reservation. We ended up having to wait a little bit until we were finally sat. Also, my husband felt like he was getting more over-done meat rather than medium rare. But, overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and clearly, since we decided to come back again for our 2nd wedding anniversary! Aug 2026: The good: The drinks were great again, the market was delicious again. The meat bringers (lol) were bringing around different items this time besides meat and OMG! The grilled pineapple was AMAZING!! And the cheese and honey was TO DIE FOR! Seriously the best parts of the meal was the market, the pineapple, the filet mignon, and the cheese and honey. The not-so-good: We arrived on time for our reservation, maybe 5 minutes early, and we had to stand around and wait in the crowded lobby for about 15 minutes. It was kind of a long time to wait around when you had a reservation, but not a huge deal. The filet mignon came around only twice, and the second time we had to try to ask someone if we could have more of it. That and the picanha are really the only good meats... Its just frustrating that the sausage, top sirloin, and chicken wings were coming around 10 times but the filet mignon rarely ever came around. The picanha probably came around only two times too. I definitely would not spend more money to get the most expensive all you can eat experience- considering you rarely get your preferred choice of meat. Also, the manager I believe came around and asked how everything was, and we told her it was great which it was, she then asked us if we wanted to see a certain meat. I told her actually yes- we want filet mignon we only got offered it once. She asked what temperature we wanted it and we told her medium rare please. And then she went over to the next table near us and just stood there chatting with them for literally like 30 minutes (they spoke the same language so they clearly either knew each other, or had some connections which is FINE, but then why ask us what we wanted...) I also want to speak on our server. He was young, I think his name was Tristan. He was nice, but not very friendly or welcoming and I had my water go unfilled for quite some time. I also asked him if he could grab that honey and cheese guy again (which I'm sure that's an annoying request) but he was just like "oh he'll be coming back around again." Like lol ok... He didn't ask us if we were celebrating anything (we were) until the very end of the meal after he asked us if we wanted the dessert menu. He said this "Would you like the dessert menu?" I hesitated because I did want the cheesecake but was super full, and that's when he said are you celebrating anything and I said yes it is our anniversary, and he said we get a free dessert. He came back with the dessert menu and I saw the cheesecake brûlée but I just wanted a plain cheesecake like I had the year prior. He told me they have one (I didn't see it on the menu- red flag) but I ordered one to go. Obviously when you dont get a dessert for there, you don't get the pretty happy anniversary plate, but I wasn't expecting to get slopped down a plastic bag with a tiny sliver of... you guessed it... brûlée cheesecake. I was disappointed but didn't say anything since it was free. Overall, I would recommend coming here, despite some minor challenges. However, it is not cheap, so I think when something is very costly, and people aren't 100% satisfied with either the quality/quantity/frequency of offerings, then it gets disappointing. Also- I wanted to mention weirdly my Yellowbird last year came with a gorgeous Aloe leaf as a garnish and this year my garnish was a curled lime skin and two black straws... lol so Idk what happened there. Maybe I didn't get the same drink! Who knows. We do plan on coming back for the next anniversary next August.

They removed the lamb picanha!!! There are no current special seasonal dishes either and I was told perhaps not until summer! Spring just started! Alex was our attentive server. Jim the manager answered our questions well. My son and I bought the $70 dining card to receive twelve 1/2 of meals, so we have 24 discounted meals. He and I had water, while my wife had a soft drink for her birthday, though she would have enjoyed one regardless. The bill was just under $100 for us three. I am very disappointed about the lack of lamb picanha. Only having leg of lamb as part of the buffet is disheartening. Hopefully they will bring it back. I was considering getting a third discount card, but without lamb picanha or lamb chops I doubt I will. Of course we will be back as we spent $140 plus delivery fee to have physical discount cards. We saved $87 so the break even point will be our next dining experience here. I ordered the overpriced $13 carrot cake for my wife to enjoy for her birthday as the coupon for joining their website does not combine with the discount cards. This pushed our total spent to about $147 including tip. If you like this place invest in a discount card or two or even three.

Everyone else was seated by the windows. I had to insist on being seated elsewhere. The restaurant is relatively new and still retains its sparkle. The salad bar is at the back, with chill/hot sections. I paid attention to other reviews and zeroed in on the pineapple carpaccio. In addition, I had the hearts of palm, baby asparagus stalks, potato salad, and lobster bisque. Other people had recommended the latter and they were right. I had very little else from the bar to focus on the grilled meats. The parade of meat started very quickly after I was seated. The filet mignon was fantastic. It was well-seasoned and prepared at the right temperature. The picanha (spicy and garlic) was okay. However, I thought the lamb was too gamey (I usually like lamb) and the pork was too dry. I got full quickly so I was glad I did not select the chicken or sausage offerings. Brazilian bread, bananas, mashed potatoes, and fries accompanied the meal. I only requested the bread, which was hot and chewy, and the bananas were swoon-worthy good. Yes, you need to save room for the sugar-and-cinnamon-spiced, pan-fried bananas. My server was polite and responsive. I wish I could forget the inauspicious start to the meal.

The place has a sort of industrial feel that didn't lend itself well to a date night. Cocktails run about $16-18 and wines by the glass are $15-20. I had the El Diablo with Joven Tequila, Rescoldo Beet, Amaro, Ginger, Lemon which I thought was good but nothing groundbreaking. Most of their cocktails are riffs on classics. My husband had a glass of wine. To eat, we got the rescoldo beets ($19) which was priced steeply for a simple albeit tasty dish. He got the black rice (Peruvian Bay Scallops, Moqueca Sauce, Preserved Lemon) - $38 and I had the chicken with chimibutter and mustard - $35. Portions for mains were larger than expected. Unfortunately, we weren't wowed by any of the dishes. If I had to order one again, it would probably be the chicken, which was cooked well. We took quite a few leftovers home and honestly barely touched them. It was a pretty big let-down based on how much people rave about Barda. I can't say I would return.
