Traditional Brazilian Steakhouse with a modern flare!! My family & I have went to many Brazilian steakhouses and we absolutely love, love, love Gaucho Urbano! When family/ friends are in town this is always one of our first stops, or I just send them there! Here are a few pointers.. It's a traditional Brazilian steakhouse.. which means the meat is going to be seasoned as they do in Brazil.. for most of the meat that is salt... So don't expect a steak covered in Demi-glacé. If you are looking for a more attentive experience and less crowded time, I highly suggest a few things to keep in mind... 1.) Reminding yourself that you are in a tourist area, so try to plan ahead. 2.) Gaucho Urbano is a restaurant & every restaurant has its peak hours.. just like any restaurant everyone is trying to get in at 6-8:30, maybe try before or after this time. 3.) If you plan to go on a holiday remember everyone else wants to celebrate with their family as well, so expect there to be a wait time, even with reservation. (I try to go the day before or after) 4.) The staff are awesome, but they are not mind readers... tell the gauchos how you want your meats prepared. They will bring anything & everything you want as long as you let them know your preference. So speak up! 5.) Make sure you select the correct dining experience that gives you all the meats that you want. There are multiple experiences to choose from, So don't feel obligated to get the full experience if you are only going to eat chicken /or the salad bar. On the other hand, don't get the light meat experience and expect the gauchos to offer everything. 6.) Lastly a quick & final note! if you see the Gauchos skip your table and go to the next one with a certain cut of meat....maybe even one you requested..they're most likely serving based on meat temperature. For example, if the cut is medium rare, they'll go to the tables that ordered medium rare first. If it's well done, they'll head to the well done tables. So don't worry...they're probably just going in order by temperature and request to make sure everyone gets their meat just the way they like it. Hope this helps! Enjoy! read more

We loved our dinner at Gaucho!!! It was our 5th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Our server was Hugo and he took such good care of us. He was attentive and got us anything we asked for. He even took time to know our names which is so nice! The food was incredible. I had the chicken experience and I could have eaten a whole platter of the chicken teriyaki if I did fill up on the incredible sides. Absolutely request the fried yuca it was so good. My husband had the gaucho meat experience and was in heaven with the gaucho beef steak and ribeye. We also needed the man with the grilled pineapple to come back half a dozen times it was so good. Service was amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful but the food selection was lacking. We had to ask for lamb, linguica, and sirloin after sitting for a bit. The ribs were ok, the bacon wrapped filet was over cooked and dry, but surprisingly the chicken thighs were juicy and delicious! I really enjoyed the chimichurri sauce and the horse radish sauce available at the bar. Overall we had a good experience but it was very pricey and the meat offered seemed to be less expensive cuts. While in pigeon Forge for my daughter's cheer competition, she wanted a steak dinner at somewhere fancy so me and my wife brought her here service was good. She loved the show where they bring all the meat out on a stick and carve it for you. her favorite was the ribeye steak. We'd probably go back if we're ever in pigeon Forge again. read more

Not what you would expect in a regular restaurant. And I'm am fully aware of how a restaurant of that kind operates, but it was the food consistently being over cooked and the lack of communication across the board that got me down to a two out of five star rating. In fact the two best things I consumed whilst in the restaurant was the Brazilian limeade, which took them over ten minutes just to get to me and was five whole dollars, and the roasted pineapple. Not even the meat! The atmosphere was different I guess you could say but it wasn't great. There was a lot of chaos, so if you are looking for a chill restaurant this is not the one for you. If you have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse at all in your life, you must at least try to go to one before you die. That is, if you're a meatlover. If you hate meats, then I'm really curious on why you're reading this review. In summary, Brazilian steakhouses here in the United States are traditionally AYCE (all you can eat) for a fixed price. I have been to some that aren't, so if it's a full belly you're looking for, make sure to research the restaurant. You pay a fixed price depending on what you want included. If you go the full course (includes all the meats + salad bar items + sides), you'll pay $48.50 per person. While the price seems high for a buffet, the amount of meat you get really is a bargain. The quantity more than makes up for it. Gaucho Urbano boasts 17 different items but I only saw 10 tops. But I honestly wanted specific cuts, so the ones that were missing really didn't matter to me. I'm a frequent diner of Brazilian steakhouses all over the country and the cuts that I love the most are the Picanha (top sirloin cap), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), ribeye, and the abacaxi (Grilled pineapple with cinnamon). I will eat these items repeatedly until I'm about to burst. Gaucho Urbano had these cuts and I ate to my heart's content. I specifically like medium rare to rate and this temperature is achieved by cutting bigger chunks off the meat skewers. There really is nothing like immediately sinking your teeth into a freshly grilled, savory, salted, piece of juicy beef. And that's what you'll get here. If you love pineapple, you owe it to yourself to try the abacaxi. It's lightly dusted with cinnamon and grilled until warm. It really is a sweet, tart treat, almost dessert-like. My only complaint was the service was slow. Like real slow. We didn't get our drinks (party of 10) until 15 minutes after being seated and then didn't have any silverware for another few minutes after that (after we were already eating food. I've been to Brazilian Steakhouses before but disappointed in this one. You have 3 menus to decide from which was new to me. I picked the first menu with the most meats. The servers had accents difficult hearing exactly what meat ur getting and shocked that some of the steak was fatty and chewy. The quality of the meat served was TERRIBLE. They kept cutting the outside fatty pieces off for our table almost every time. I finally asked for some middle cuts and they still were not good. I spit the filet out in my napkin as it was chewy and nasty. The only good thing was the pineapple and the gouda cheese off of the salad bar. The lobster bisque wasn't good either. I have eaten at many steak houses as I am from the midwest and know quality steaks. I have eaten at other similar Brazilian steakhouses in the past and they were so much better. The atmosphere and service were fine, but you couldn't pay me to go back. I took my family of 5 and this was the worst $300 plus I have ever spent. We were in town for the Corvette Expo, and it was my boyfriend's birthday weekend. I made reservations a few weeks prior, and gave them specific instructions regarding the dessert, and to make sure to give me the bill, and not him. When we arrived, we were seated promptly, and everyone we came in contact with was so attentive and nice! The service was excellent, they brought around a variety of meats constantly, and when we wanted something in particular, all we had to do was ask, and they would bring it out to us. The food was delicious and we ate way too much! They brought out the dessert without me having to ask and that was also delicious! Our friends reserved a table for us on Easter Sunday. If you know anything about Pigeon Forge we figured it would be busy and traffic-y. However, we walked in on time and our reservation was accommodated perfectly. My first impression was this spot was certainly a grade above the typical experience in PF. The waitress took our drink order and offered an explanation of the menu. From there it was a hailstorm of meats. The following meats made it to us: sirloin, sausage, teriyaki chicken, spare ribs, filet, garlic sirloin, pepper sirloin, ribeye. The meat purveyors were patient and attentive. They took their time to make sure there was no waste and really knew the temps of what was on the platter. We enjoyed the salad bar but really it was just a side show to the action of a dizzying array of meat-ery. Overall I would recommend a nice glass of red and to try as much as you want but say no every once in awhile to give yourself a breather. Otherwise you'll have your wife drive you home and pass out immediately till your digestive tract can catch up. I enjoyed the experience and the customizable yes/no- meat/no thanks option. I loved the lamb and various steaks. They have a hot and cold bar. I loved the potato salad, hands down the best I've ever had. I was asked if we were they for a special occasion & I said it was my birthday so I got a free dessert of my choice. I picked the crème brûlée, it was so luscious. The wait staff was excellent and made me feel special. The dress code is also very relaxed, my husband and I were smart casual but I saw women wearing leggings and hoodies and they were treated the same. My husband and I made reservations for dinner showed up a little early for our reservation and sadly had to wait for almost 10 minutes while the two hosts tried to figure out seating for a couple who arrived an hour early for their reservation and for a table of seven, who were a walk-in with no reservation personally we should've been seated at our reservation time regardless of the other people. I should preface this next statement that I have no issue with a gender confused person however, when said biological male is in the ladies bathroom, I do take issue with that. It was very uncomfortable and women should not be subjected to going to the bathroom where there are biological males using the facilities. As an adult, I can handle myself very well, however, if I had a young daughter with me, there is no way that I would've condoned using those facilities at that specific time. As far as our dinner was concerned, our dinner was very good. However, the service staff was very subpar, our drinks were not refilled until we were completed with our actual dinner. We then had to ask for a dessert menu and while we were waiting for our dessert, three other individuals came to ask us if we wanted to order desserts and one person offered us additional sides when we got our bill and paid yet another person came to take care of us all in all, I think we had five or six different servers, which ordinarily wouldn't be super concerning, but it seemed that none of them communicate communicated with each other and nobody knew what was going on or what was needed at the table at the end of the day. We had to sit and wait on the carvers to come and then finally ask for table service. We were a party of 6, When we were seated, we told the waitress, before we even put in drink order, that we had a member of our group that had a shellfish allergy. Checking our status, filling our drinks and asking if we had any requests. We'll done staff, keep up the great work. The salad bar was good, we'll stocked and fresh. The meat circulation was consistent and the Gaucho's were very good at meeting portions and temperature. They also asked and delivered meats we specifically were looking for.
