Shepherds pie. Lacked flavor and not enough taters.

Food was mid at best. Beer wasn't cold. Service was mid. The reason I sit at the bar is for service. Convo with the 2 gentleman at the bar was great. Woulda been 2 star without that.

Tuna melt, fries and a stout

We have had beer (cans purchased in a store) from this brewery and like them so we decided to stop by for lunch while visiting our UMaine student. I had quickly scanned reviews and I did see that it was "not much to look at" from the outside but wow was I taken back. It's attached to a yucky motel. My husband said "we can turn back now and go somewhere else" but we were feeling adventurous so we went in. You step into the lobby of said motel and then go through to the pub. The hostess was super friendly and seated us immediately. We had a choice of inside or out and we chose outside as it was a little rough around the edges from what I could see. Our server was very, very nice and our beers came out quickly as well as the waters we also requested (lots of places neglect the water when requested). We all had a different item for lunch and also ordered some bone in wings for an app. The wings were meaty & crispy. No complaints there. The fish sandwich was not enjoyable and the onion rings were soggy. The tuna melt was okay but the tuna lacked any flavor and was too watery for a sandwich (drain the tuna more or add less mayo?) My son and his girlfriend did not complain to us about their sandwiches but they looked similar to the others. The fries were crispy and tasted good and the cole slaw was great. We really like the beers but decided this was a one & done solely based on the food quality and bizarre location. Personally, I would give it another chance for wings and beer but I was outnumbered by the "never again" majority. I think they should consider a facelift to the restaurant and a revamp to the recipes.

Typical pub food. I wanted more - but left feeling underwhelmed. The food was decent - not spectacular. Like I said - typical pub food. I told my husband I wished we would have eaten elsewhere and just stopped here for a drink.

    Cesear salad with shrimp

Even with the mixed reviews, we decided to try it anyway. Everything was great! The atmosphere and staff was friendly. The food was on point. I had a cesear salad with nice big plump grilled shrimp. Plenty of dressing on the side, croutons, freshly shredded mozzarella and crisp romaine lettuce. Ooh, and if they offer you a roll. Take it! You will not be disappointed. My boyfriend had the ham club with the Zippidy-Do-Dah fries. He thought it all was delicious. We will be back. :)

Does not look like much from the outside... But, inside it gives the traditional Irish pub vive. The menu had a variety of food not just Irish fare. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had the pretzel and beer cheese which was delicious - the beer cheese has a unique taste which makes it worth trying. Their boneless wings were really good and the pound is about rright for sharing with 2 people. Over all I don't think you could go wrong having dinner here.

We stopped by on our way to Bar Harbor. Food was good. Desserts were great! Lots of Irish decor and great service.

Stopped in for a drink with the gals after a show across the street. The wings are SO GOOD! Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable

    Top bread greasy. Not grilled

Usually my safe go to place. Partly been sliding. We got rake out. Wings great as always. My Reuben was not good. Greasy bread. Bottom 1/2 sandwich cooked out. Top not cooked. We asked that fries be cooked well done and they were just right. I used to love their Reuben .

A staple in Bangor that has been around for years. Known for their wings and their pub cheese. The wings are fantastic. This time we got the pub cheese and it's okay but most people love it. Large dining area and big bar area. Pub food that's good. I got the Buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was really great. Service was really good. Worth a stop!

The service is very friendly. I wanted the Strawberry Fields cocktail, but they didn't have so I settled on The Fuzzy. It is very alcohol forward, which most people will enjoy. Not for me personally, as I would have liked more flavor from the infusions, but that's definitely a personal preference. The Blackened Fish Sandwich with a Small Caesar Salad had very flakey fish. I loved the meld of flavors, and ended up devouring my sandwich! The bun held together well. The caesar salad was a decent size and well dressed. Definitely a cool spot to hit for good food and a great pub vibe!

We sat outside and I had what the waitress called a "local Magners cider" and a blackened fish sandwich, which was a nicely blackened cod with tartar sauce and some chips. We went to "family Restaurants", local pizza place, Sea dogs by the water, McLaughlins (great food but man, they need umbrellas over their tables!!). Anglers was also good but kind of far. The food at Blue Skye Lounge is excellent! One wouldn't think it would be so great at a pub style lounge but one would sadly miss a good meal by not heading into this lounge. Yes, service can be a tad slow, but the bar is always quite busy, so tables wait a bit for service. We go in with our grandchildren. They LOVE the mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and the pizza! It's the best around, I swear, and at a VERY reasonable price. During happy hour, you can't beat the prices. Chicken tenders are always perfectly cooked and at $8.00 an order, it's the best deal around. Mozzarella sticks? They love them and at $5.00 an order, it makes the grand parents smile We went several times during this visit. Our last being Wednesday evening. (Our Wednesday morning flight had been cancelled!) Bree was our waitress and she was the best! She was busy, but right there for refills, and checking to see if everything was good. She's a gem at the Blue Skye lounge!

The vibe is chill speakeasy/library; there's a comfy bar area with tables and then a warren of other little spaces where you can hang out as well, with books and games strewn about to peruse. I love that they have a small, curated menu, which makes it easy: Maine oysters (two kinds, both awesome) got me started with a martini (well OK two martinis; friendly bartender makes them *perfectly*), and then you can extend to dinner with a few rotating options. I got lucky because whoever is making this delicious food decided that bolognese and lasagna should have a baby and be served in a piping-hot dish with some bread and salad on the side, and who could be mad about that?! (NB get some red wine with it). And they feature the fabulous Maine martini (aka Allen's Coffee Brandy, to which I have been converted), so there's your perfect nightcap. Sometimes when you go to bars with small menus the food is so-so, but not here: everything was insanely good and the perfect portion size. Who knows when I'll be back in Bangor next, but I'll definitely come here again when I am. Check it out!
