Very friendly and servers were excellent. Food was extraordinary and the grilled cheese was the best! :-)

We had chicken wings and it was just tenders, we ordered the chicken club and chicken basket. The chicken club tasted good you had to search for the chicken, and overkill on the mayo. The onion rings were under cooked but homemade. The tenders had a fish taste to them and the homemade fries were limp and greasy. We ordered honey mustard with the tenders and got it after the meal. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is b/c my husband swears the boneless wings are the best he's ever eaten. I MIGHT be willing to try them still - takeout ONLY IF he goes to pick them up so I don't have to run into the biggest roach I have EVER SEEN hanging out right on the ramp in front of the doorway to the restaurant/hotel. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Between two of us our meals were good, but not great - I had a cheeseburger and my friend had scallops. My husband said his meal was the worst he's had in 15 years - rib-eye sandwich. We chose to go here while a friend was in from out of town b/c of all the good things I've heard from friends and the reviews on here. I am disappointed we did waste a meal and money here, but glad I now know what we're not missing. read more

Headed here on the recommendation of locals as a great spot to grab dinner and sample some craft brews. Had the local beef burger with the "pub cheese" which was delicious! Not the nacho cheese sauce I was expecting, but more of a blend of cheeses melted into a gooey, yummy topping. Also had their fish chowder which had great flavor, but looked a bit off because of the fat separating from the cream-based broth. Still tasted good though. Drinks were good as well. Decided to try this based on reviews here. We tried to go on a weekend night and it was just too busy for us to wait with our 2 year old. Went later on a Sunday, the place was quiet and we were greeted quickly. We had boneless wings (wild) and onion rings. They served the wings with both blue cheese and ranch. The blue cheese was especially good. The food was good and server was nice. They were out of both of the beers my husband and I wanted. It was the day after St. Patrick's day, so that isn't surprising. I tried their Refueler, a unfiltered wheat beer. It was good. We will be back. read more

Best boneless wings in town, hands down. Try the reserve sauce - not on the menu, but delicious! The buffalo chicken quesadillas, irish nachos and burgers are a very close second, but you've got to try the wings! I typically eat in the bar, not the dining section and the bar staff has never failed to greet us and treat us like family. read more

Very disappointing!!!! Went there last night before the U Maine game . Three people in our group had boneless chicken two orders were so dry the server brought extra sauce . We had an appetizer that was undercooked (potatoes) and while I love sour cream I have never seen such a large serving . Must have been half a pint . Way too much for the small amount of potatoes . I had a scallop basket . The scallops were very good unfortunately the fries were also undercooked . The positive was the beer was very good especially the Refueler and Suffering Bastard . This was not our first time here but it was by far the worst meal we've had . Based on last nights meal I would not recommend it but past visits mean we will try it again at some point in the future and hope it is much better . read more

Service was most excellent! The staff is exceedingly friendly and hospitable. The wings are the best I have ever had, so good in fact that my sandwich of choice was the Chieftain, a group on boneless wings covered in pub cheese served with homemade fries. Very tasty. Oh, and the beer. I never drink more than two beers at a sitting. At Geaghan's I drink three. The Refueler is an American Heifeweizen, most delicious. Spent almost $50 on wings, pizza, onion rings and fries. To say that the food quality was not good would be spot on. Small portions and high priced to go along with it made this a bad choice today. I love Geaghan's, I really do. The best boneless buffalo wings I, and pretty much anyone else who has tasted them, have ever had in my life and probobly ever will. The pub cheese spread they give you with crackers, at dinner only, is definately one of my favorite cheesy things on the planet. They sell it in tubs to-go as well, which is convienient to bring to a party when you want to bring something to please a crowd but are too lazy to make anything. Geaghan's also makes my absolute favorite reuben, their corned beef is so tender and I like that they use their coleslaw instead of saurkraut. They also serve a pretty decent breakfast and good burgers. Sit in the pub area for the most geaghansy experience, more fun to be around the regulars and wise cracking staff in this section than sit in the boring dining room area. If you are in Bangor going to Geaghan's is a must especially on St. Patty's of course! read more

This is a really great classic. The food is delicious and unpretentious. They have built up a brewery business and I haven't had one of their beers that I didn't like. Try the Penobscot Icebreaker if its on tap. Its seasonal and amazing!! I would also suggest the reserve sauce for your boneless wings. It is not on the menu, but a widely known secret. Its a prefect mix of buffalo sauce and sweet brown sugar. It sounds strange at first, but you won't be disappointed. Sit in the bar if there is room! read more

Had dinner at a restaurant in Bar Harbor and being a Geygan I had to try Geagan's Smiling Irish Bastard beer when I saw it on the beer list. It was great and the waitress told us about the brewery in Bangor. She raved about the boneless wings which we had and they were great. The spinach and artichoke dip was mediocre. The buffalo chicken nachos were a pile of chips with about 8 small cubes of chicken and a few small lines of barbecue sauce that I would call poor. It was a fun experience overall. Hopefully it was just a bad night for our food and this was not typical. The flights of beer were great and I really liked the card that explained each beer. Very convenient! read more

So Ive been in Bangor 7 days and have eatin here 5 times already. The breakfast was amazing. I had the Chieftian Omlet that was freakin awsome, and my wife had their amazing oatmeal and cheese eggs. Later that afternoon I had 3 of their different beers and the bleu chees dip with a lobster roll. later that night I had the rest of their beers and the awsome bean burger. This place is awsome. Driving to the Maine Coast we needed a late meal. This is one of the few places open post 9pm in Bangor. The chicken wings are really great and yes the "reserve" sauce is PDG.
