    Dragon roll
    Kate C.

I finally found a place with delicious sushi. The dragon roll is my favorite. I always order it, it's an excellent dish and beautifully presented. My friend and I were at this place, it's a very nice restaurant. The staff is polite and friendly. I'll be back again.

Kabuki has a prime location in the center of downtown Burbank. There are various parking lots in the area which often time fill up and you have to park farther away. I've gone to kabuki a few times now to try several dishes. They have a great udon! I would be hesitant to order the sushi again. Though the presentation is nice, it did not taste very fresh and I did get a tummy ache. I also asked for no wasabi and California roll, but there was wasabi on the fish and I was given a spicy tuna roll instead. Beef teriyaki is good. Both the sushi and beef teriyaki were supposed to come with a miso soup and salad. This did not come, and when I asked the server for the soup and salad, he only brought one of each out and never brought out the other soup and salad. He also disappeared a lot. Keeping it 3 stars though as there are other servers who are friendly.

Kabuki is a contemporary dining destination located in the heart of Downtown Burbank. Managed by the Kaizen Dining Group, it is part of a regional chain known for its "sushi for all mankind" philosophy, aiming to make Japanese cuisine accessible and comfortable for a broad audience. The restaurant occupies the site of the former Crocodile Cafe, which was featured in the 1995 film Clueless. The location and brand have received multiple "Best Of" awards, particularly from Pasadena Weekly and Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. The restaurant has a casual yet trendy vibe with a modern Japanese aesthetic, moving away from traditional, minimalist decor. It offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating, which is pet-friendly and equipped with heaters for cooler evenings. The staff is friendly, attentive, and fast, accommodating special requests and birthday celebrations with complementary desserts and singing. The restaurant offers happy hours daily including weekends, with deals on sushi rolls and beers. Lunch specials are also available daily. LED by Culinary Director Rogelio Aglibot (known as "The Food Buddha"), the menu features fresh sushi, sashimi, ramen, and bento boxes, along with dedicated vegetarian and gluten-free options. Although it may not be top-notch connoisseur level sushi but it's excellent and consistent for its price point. Popular items include Kabuki Roll, Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice and various teriyaki dishes. Their spicy tuna is very different from other Japanese restaurants but tastes savory and delicious. Also their California Roll is light and refreshing, it does not taste heavy with mayo. Parking is convenient, with several free public garages and street parking located nearby.

Came here for Happy Hour and a Rainbow Roll. Service is okay but need to pay more attention to detail we had to ask and wait for a soy sauce cup for our roll. The ambiance is pleasant and noise level is high. I enjoyed the sake and the Rainbow Roll was okay but the presentation needs some work. Our tool didn't look that appealing in my humble opinion. Even the avocado didn't look like it was sliced nicely. I will try again some other time. Maybe it will be a bit better.

Kabuki in Burbank is a decent spot, but the experience was a bit mixed for me. Parking was a little annoying, though that's pretty much to be expected in Burbank, so not a huge surprise. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and unfortunately it was a little bland and chewy. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not something I'd order again. Overall, it's okay if you're in the area, but next time I'd probably try something different off the menu.

Just arrived back from our trip to Colorado and it's late, but we're hungry, decided to come and enjoy a light seafood dinner. Customer service was great. The salad and the appetizer were perfect and hit the spot! Definitely will add this restaurant to our favorites list. Looking forward to coming back!

Had a pretty good experience here. Took my sister for her birthday and since it was a lot of us, we got seated in a nice area that was just for us. It was near the restrooms but the privacy was enough. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about. The rolls were tasty and filling. I have been going to kabukis all around the area and I'm usually always satisfied. The only thing that went wrong was when it came down to paying the bill. From the very beginning we asked our server if she could split the bills and she said she would do it at the end. Ok... so the end came and boy did we send her back to reprint them over and over because she kept messing up. We even marked our receipts so she could get it correct. But nothing. She kept bringing them back wrong. In the end I ended up paying for food that wasnt mine, and just worked it out with the person. I feel as though she should have just taken the orders separately to make it easier on her. But anyways, it was okay.

Way to go at the staff at Kabuki! There was an issue with using my birthday reward so the sever spoke with the manager and they were able to get the issue corrected. I ordered a couple of items on the happy hour menu and everything was delicious. The server also offered a birthday dessert which was a very kind of him to do which I was not expecting. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond. Overall, I had an exceptional experience and definitely recommend Kabuki!

Stopped into this place once again it it never disappoints! They have a great late night happy hour that we got to take advantage of. We got a variety of options from the happy hour menu and it was all delicious and fresh. My new favorite items are the spicy tuna hand rolls. They are packed with delicious spicy tuna. Service is always great too. Please check this place out if you're in the area.

I've frequented Kabuki over the years whenever I've roamed around Burbank (which is quite often). I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet, but better late than never! Located at the corner of N San Fernando Blvd & E Orange Grove Ave, there's an abundance of parking garages and street parking nearby so don't even sweat it. It gets busy at nights and on the weekends, so if you're wanting to go during non-peak hours, try weekday afternoons. All the sushi we've tried has been good as has the regular dishes. Our go-to is either the California Roll, the Spicy Tuna Roll, the Vegas Roll, the Dynamite Roll, or the Chicken Teriyaki. You honestly can't go wrong with any choice as there's something for every picky eater. There's quite the selection of drinks if you're looking to wet your beak. They have daily happy hours to get the most bang for your buck. Mon-Fri it's from 3PM-6PM, Sat-Sun it's from 2PM-5PM. For late night, Sun-Thurs is 8:30PM-close and Fri-Sat is 9PM-close. Corkage per bottle of sake/wine is $25. Daily lunch specials are from 11AM-4PM. If you're wandering around downtown Burbank, Kabuki is a good place to unwind and make some memories. The employees are all friendly, the restaurant itself is well-maintained and clean, and there's a patio section out back for when it's hot (or if you have pets).

It was my first time trying this place , as a first timer it was very fresh sushi however , it was lacking flavor , something was missing in each roll in all honestly, if you're okay with simple flavors I totally recommend it , but if you're more flavorful type this isn't the place for you . Overall the service was great, the place was very clean and welcoming . 8/10

I REALLY enjoyed my experience here. I got the spicy tuna roll- great portion and delicious, kimchi gyoza(delicious), and the kimchi roll (fresh and light). I also tried the edamame- good but not amazing. The service was excellent and quick. I would come back again anytime!!

Cool & chill, but not completely "lazy bum" vibes. Like, don't come in wearing your pajamas. You could, but why would you do that? I appreciate the darker ambience lit up by the rather groovy neon + purple & dark blue lights. A great, chill date spot, or a relaxed restaurant for sushi aficionados. The fish is incredibly fresh. I especially like that they have a number of selections that I have never seen at other similar style upper-class sushi restaurants. An unexpected pleasant bonus is that a beer is included for only $1 when you order a bottle of Soju. Do yourself a favor: make sure to get rolls that include a variety of fish. Don't get similar rolls with the same protein. Snow Crab Cut Roll - 9.0 / 10 Baked real snow crab = inside Wrapped with soybean paper, house special bake sauce. You have to give major props when a sushi restaurant includes a roll with *real* snow crab legs. None of that fake crab stick / surimi. I wish more places could include real snow crab. The soybean paper is always a nice alternative to the more traditional seaweed wrapper. Forbidden Roll - 8.9 / 10 Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber = Inside Topped with fresh salmon, crunch flakes, crab meat, eel sauce, & spicy mayo. If you were only going to get 1 sushi roll, it should be this one. It has the most variety of proteins in 1, single roll. It's not chaotic where the flavors & textures don't make sense. It works & I would gladly get this roll again. Salmon Spicy Scallop - 7.5 / 10 Spicy Scallop = inside Topped with fresh salmon. If you like scallops & salmon, this is a solid choice. Fresh Heaven - 5.7 / 10 3 Assorted fresh fish, crab meat, gobo, radish, + avocado = inside. Wrapped w/ cucumber, oriental goma sauce. The most aesthetically beautiful dish that we ordered, especially with the cucumber garnish + lovely flower. It's nice to know that cucumber can be used to wrap sushi. But it throws off the texture. Maybe it I was on a stricter diet, I may opt for a cucumber-wrapped roll. The fish was incredibly fish. Huge shout-out to Sydney P. + Charles for their warm + personable hospitality. I would happily come back because of Fujiya's unique sushi rolls, but the staff's personality is such a winner. They're truly welcoming & take great pride + pleasure in what they do. I don't blame them. Fujiya is a cool, hip, & swanky (in the best possible way) Izakaya, but it's also not pretentious. The staff here want you to have a lovely dining experience with some innovative takes on some classic sushi rolls.

Unfortunately, one of the plates we were given was still stained with food, which honestly should have been an immediate red flag. I ordered the Crab Zanmai Combination Plate. From what I could tell, it included a baked crab hand roll, 2 pieces of baked crab sushi, an 8-piece California roll, a soft shell crab roll, and 1 piece of fried soft shell crab. I'm kind of guessing on the exact contents because I couldn't find an actual description on either the menu or the restaurant's website. The soft shell crab was easily the best part of the combo, although that's admittedly a pretty low bar. The hand roll and baked crab pieces were passable. The California roll was more akin to something you'd find in a Ralph's grocery store sushi section than at an actual sushi restaurant. I also had the unfortunate experience of trying the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin may as well have been jerky. It didn't have that light crispness, but was extremely tough and not enjoyable at all. Definitely would pass on that. For basically $30 for this combo, I honestly think you're better off going to an actual sushi restaurant like Aikan. SushiStop is probably fine if you just want quick, cheap sushi, but if you're looking for a meal you'll genuinely enjoy, I'd probably recommend going elsewhere.
