Happy hour prices here are amazing! And the parking situation is a dream. Tons of available spots in the two free public parking structures located steps away from the restaurant. Kabuki has a prime location in the center of downtown Burbank. There are various parking lots in the area which often time fill up and you have to park farther away. I've gone to kabuki a few times now to try several dishes. They have a great udon! I would be hesitant to order the sushi again. Though the presentation is nice, it did not taste very fresh and I did get a tummy ache. I also asked for no wasabi and California roll, but there was wasabi on the fish and I was given a spicy tuna roll instead. Beef teriyaki is good. Both the sushi and beef teriyaki were supposed to come with a miso soup and salad. This did not come, and when I asked the server for the soup and salad, he only brought one of each out and never brought out the other soup and salad. He also disappeared a lot. Came here for Happy Hour and a Rainbow Roll. Service is okay but need to pay more attention to detail we had to ask and wait for a soy sauce cup for our roll. I was extremely disappointed by how I was treated as a new mother, as the manager repeatedly demanded that I move my stroller and carry my 4-month-old baby instead while also refusing to bring us a high chair and repeatedly insisting that the stroller was a fire hazard even after we were moved to another table. His behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, especially because whenever my baby cried, he would repeatedly walk by our table, which felt very judgmental and added to an already emotional experience. On top of the poor service, the sushi kept crumbling apart, and the sashimi was served very warm and did not taste fresh, so overall this restaurant did not feel family-friendly and I would not recommend it to parents with young children. read more

Well, I made a terrible mistake last night and tried Kabuki. If you are a fan of krab (fake crab) then this is the place for you! I hate krab so I studied the menu carefully to try to order a roll without it. I ordered the Tiger Roll which is shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and avocado. When it came, it was covered in a mountain of raw red onion (like half an onion!) and was plated in a bowl to better contain the large amount of lemon sauce. The sauce made the sushi soggy and it was starting to fall apart right away. Then, when I got a piece out from under the onion mound, I saw that most of it was krab. I failed to see on the menu that the shrimp tempura was a shrimp tempura ROLL which if you look at another part of the menu, includes, krab, of course. Completely inedible in every way. I gave 2 stars because service was solid and I also got a mushroom miso soup that was good. But everything else we got was pretty gross including the spicy tuna that had a terribly pasty consistency. read more

But honestly there are so many sushi options in Burbank, and there are several in the downtown Burbank area that are all withing 3 - 4 blocks of each other. For example, today I stopped by to get a take out order because it was the quickest option on my way home from work. I got an order of their rainbow roll, which is supposed to be varieties of fresh fish on top of a California roll. The California roll they put it on was like half the size you would normally get of that roll, and had hardly any rice on it/ the outside of it. Located at the corner of N San Fernando Blvd & E Orange Grove Ave, there's an abundance of parking garages and street parking nearby so don't even sweat it. It gets busy at nights and on the weekends, so if you're wanting to go during non-peak hours, try weekday afternoons. All the sushi we've tried has been good as has the regular dishes. Our go-to is either the California Roll, the Spicy Tuna Roll, the Vegas Roll, the Dynamite Roll, or the Chicken Teriyaki. You honestly can't go wrong with any choice as there's something for every picky eater. There's quite the selection of drinks if you're looking to wet your beak. They have daily happy hours to get the most bang for your buck. Mon-Fri it's from 3PM-6PM, Sat-Sun it's from 2PM-5PM. For late night, Sun-Thurs is 8:30PM-close and Fri-Sat is 9PM-close. Corkage per bottle of sake/wine is $25. Daily lunch specials are from 11AM-4PM. If you're wandering around downtown Burbank, Kabuki is a good place to unwind and make some memories. Had a pretty good experience here. Took my sister for her birthday and since it was a lot of us, we got seated in a nice area that was just for us. It was near the restrooms but the privacy was enough. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about. The rolls were tasty and filling. Shiitake mushrooms are more flavorful and are traditionally used in this dish. The salmon skin hand roll was served open faced, not cone shaped, and seemed to be missing veggies. My wife said her yakisoba was under seasoned. Nice birthday ice cream served at conclusion of the dinner. The service was good, so no complaints there. We decided to try Kabuki as we were in the area shopping. Parking is located right next door in the parking structure and also on the street. We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant wasn't too busy and therefore it was pretty quiet. Our waitress was friendly and patient with us as we decided to start with a few beers and a saki. There are some pretty great lunch specials on the menu and I decided to try one, it was the teriyaki chicken with rice. Sadly, it was very good. The chicken was dry and cold.
