    House specialty

Service is always great BUT This place used to be a breakfast gem in OC. Been coming for 20+ years, since the chipped beef house specialty was $5.50. It's $15 now and terrible. Restaurant is dirty. Bathrooms are disgusting. This place has fallen off big time.

Awesome service and food . Very veteran friendly place to go. You'll notice that as soon as you walk in the door. Very cool place. It's all veteran and first responder themed decor. I'll be back. I guarantee it.

Always a great breakfast, today I had the House Specialty creamed chipped beef, it was delicious! Our waitress Aliya was great !!! Cozy atmosphere, proud to support police!!!

Standing in front of the new (ish) location - over on 66th Street! Perfect sunny day, too! haha

Good ole' General's Kitchen! I have been coming to OC ALL my life and, since my 20s, my family has had a place in Ocean Pines. Over the course of 25 years, I kept telling myself.. yeah - I'll try it, I'll try it... welp, yelp (hehe) I finally did and OH MY GOODNESS!!! How do you all do it? You offer these EPIC meals starting at like $8?! For $12.50, I got egg whites (they did not charge extra - which is good bc I find the extra charge a bit strange bc egg whites cost less than eggs in the store, so, THANK YOU for making SENSE! haha) and turkey sausage (again nothing extra, money-wise) and delicious FRESH breakfast potatoes .. and - GET THIS - Coffee and Orange juice is included! What?!?! NO other place in-town OC offers so much for so little $! The quality is worth much more (not saying you SHOULD charge more - haha - but saying it's too good to be so inexpensive)! Lastly, my husband was in the Marine Reserves for 8 years - so, I have to say, I really loved the nod to Military appreciation theme of the interior (picture Mission BBQ but as a breakfast place as your vibe). Thank you for this great experience - I have told everyone I know to try it! Two of my close friends and I came in a few weeks ago and we all had a wonderful (and delicious time). Would SOOOO TOTALLY recommend! :)

Had breakfast here on a short trip to OCMD. Was not disappointed! Apparently the chipped beef gravy is a huge deal because everyone was ordering it but I don't eat meat so it wasn't for me. I had a yummy mushroom and cheese omelette, really good hash browns and a light and fluffy biscuit. This place is Veteran owned and the decor honors them and I like that. They had Fox News on the tv but the volume was down and I will look beyond it, even though I think it's lies and propaganda, because I was hungry. Even though they were short staffed and very busy, we sat at the bar and the staff was very nice. We talked to four regulars who were also super friendly. All around good place. Highly recommend.

The Western special! 8oz steak and eggs. Fantastic!

A good short-order cook is hard to find, but the General has one! I saw the special, figured why not and went for it. Cooked to a perfect medium, w/o any input from me, and it was melt in your mouth fantastic. I've been to steakhouses that didn't cook a steak this well. We were redirected here after another location was booked, and I'm happy about it. We've been here before. It's always solid, accommodating, and quite impressive. Chipped beef if great, omelets, pancakes, etc. Consistent, impressive and reliable.

Excellent service, food and value. I love a good chicken fried steak and this place is top-notch. The eggs over easy were perfect, and they have rye toast here! The hashbrowns were average, but everything else was fantastic, including the military/law enforcement decor. Love this place.

With all the options of restaurants for breakfast in OC this is by far the best one. Waitstaff is exceptional and you won't leave hungry or disappointed.

    Tim S.

The wait sucked a little but the food was definitely worth it. I feel like the wait staff was annoyed by our indecisiveness which was annoying to me. The food came quick and it was delicious but I just didn't love the attitude of our waiter, who I won't publicly shame here. The food is great and it's a cool restaurant dedicated to memorializing veterans and fallen hero's which is great. I'll come back and hope for a different server next time.

This place moves fast! We were in and out within 25 minutes on a Monday morning. My mom and I both ordered a cheddar cheese omelet with home fries and toast. The omelets were huge and hard to finish. Cheese oozed out of the omelet when cutting into it. Home fries were a little on the soggy side but still good. Service was great. Def a place to check out for a quick breakfast.

    Veterans hats.

The ambiance alone makes it worth the visit. I stopped in for a late lunch and went with their Pick 2 lunch combo, pairing the Caesar salad with the cream of tomato soup. The Caesar was excellent: fresh, whole romaine hearts tossed in a nice tangy dressing, topped with flavorful brown bread croutons and a solid chunk of quality cheese. The cream of tomato soup was equally good, carrying over those same rich croutons and cheese to tie the meal together seamlessly. Service was top-notch as well--the bartender was friendly and welcoming, and the kitchen churned out the food impressively fast. Great spot all around; I will definitely be back.

Maybe a little expensive, but I feel like everywhere in Ocean City is overpriced.

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

We arrived a little before happy hour ended in hopes we could score bar seats. The bar was packed and the restaurant had over an hour wait to be seated. We put our name in, grabbed a drink from the bar, and pondered our next move. Luckily, before we could even finish our drink our table was ready. We were seated upstairs with one other party away from the crowd and the noise. I will say that every single employee we encountered from the hostess, to the bartender, our server, and even the bussers were all incredibly warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure service was up to par. My wife wanted to start with The Kitchen Sink (Nachos with salsa, guacamole, and queso). A great little appetizer to split and pick at while looking over the menu. All three were very good but I thought the guac really stood out. We also ordered the Longboard Wings which aren't your traditional buffalo wings but were delicious in their own right with incredible crunch. As long as you like sticky, sweet wings these wings are for you. For entrees we had the Longboard Burger, Ahi Burger, Fried Cod Tacos, and Yang Yang Cauliflower Bites. The food came out looking great. Bright colors filled the plates and presentation was on point. Our meals were a hit. My dad liked his burger. My mom loved the Cauliflower (which we all loved too because my mom shared it with us). My ahi burger was delicious, and something out of the ordinary for me, despite a few strands of tough connective tissue I had to eat around. The batter on my wife's fried Cod tacos was light and crisp, and the fish itself was flaky. I just wish the sandwiches came with fries instead of pasta salad or mixed greens. As much as we enjoyed our meals, I've already got my eye on a few other menu items next time we visit!
