This is by far the WORST experience I've ever had with a full service car wash. I purchased the most expensive of the non-detail washes, expecting the car to at least be clean. After it went through the wet process, they did not spend even 5 minutes on the rest of the job. I don't believe they touched the inside, except for the initial vacuum (which had to be redone at home because they missed so much.) Apparently the trash found under the seats was placed on the seat. They could not throw it away. They tried to sell me a detail job for $140 when I first drove up. I declined because I have always been very pleased with all full service car washes. This was my daughter's car. she said "Mom, this was clearly done in spite because you didn't buy the $140 wash." it was honestly unbelievable. Needless to say, I will never go back! read more

I have been going there for over 10 years with generally a competent cleaning. I went there on Saturday and when I started my car up, my windshield wiper was missing. I brought it to the manager Ronnie's attention. He said he would look for it and to call him in two or three hours.. I called him. He said he couldn't find it. Worst car wash that I have been to. I was excited when I first arrived because it wasn't busy. Now I know why! I bought the mid tier price car wash and what a waste of my money. The car interior was not touched and when the car exited the wash tunnel there were 5 people to wipe and dry my SUV. They spent less than 2 minutes wiping and drying the car. They were way too busy laughing to even attempt to do a good job! When I got home I had to take a wet rag and wipe down my vehicle because the white spots left on by the wash and polish cycle had dried and were all over the exterior of my car!! Worst car wash anywhere. We hadnt been to this place in years, but were driving by and thought maybe they have gotten better with a new place opening across the street. Nope. Charged my wife an extra $65 for the "wipe down" inside the car. Then, didnt just leave my keys in the cupholder. We got back to Carlsbad and realize we didnt have my keys. Its my wifes car and she just uses her phone so we didnt know they kept the keys until we got out of the car and I didnt have them. Drove all the way back to the place and they had them inside in a drawer. Get home again and realize the key is broken. Both the lock and unlock buttons are broken. This car is less than 6 months old. I have driven it a few times. That key is absolutely brand new. I understand accidents happen and keys maybe got stepped on. But to not own up to it and tell me when I come back to get the key... Instead they hand me a coupon for a free wash knowing the key was broken. I cant believe it. $400 for a new key. Never going here ever again - not even for the free wash. Keep on looking for another place. This one will not claim responsibilty for anything. read more

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! They will steal your money, not provide the right service, damage your vehicle, take no accountability & treat you terribly! I am beyond upset. Short version: Paid $260 for a full interior detail - shampooed carpets and seats in my NEW car. Only the bottoms of the seats were shampooed & they damaged the heck out of my drivers side back door & drivers back side of the seat. I didn't get the service I paid a ton of money for and they damaged my vehicle and told me off & that they wouldn't do anything about it. I came to get my NEW car detailed, deluxe wash, shampooed seats & carpets for $260 - It was a big expense but I just purchased this new vehicle less than a month ago & it has a very light grey interior. I want to upkeep the pristine interior as it's very important to me. When picking up the vehicle no one would look me in the eye when I was asking for my keys and I thought that was strange. I open the doors to look at the seats and upon opening the back drivers door I was SHOCKED! It is sooo banged up with scratches and dings from i'm assuming the shampooer (which has sharp metal edges) I purchased this vehicle new 3 weeks ago. I still have the paper license plates. The car was in pristine condition. No scratches no nothing. I wanted to keep the interior & exterior perfect so thought I would detail it completely once a month. I should have read the reviews. I ask for the manager, he comes out & wont even look at the damages i'm speaking about. Wouldn't take the time to even look at my car said he could do nothing for me & kept laughing in my face when I said that when I dropped off the vehicle there was no damages to the interior. It's brand new. He said that his employee mentioned some scratches that were "already there" Told me to go ask my dealer for a refund because his team didn't do it. He then says "your car isn't even worth that much, we have high paying customers with expensive vehicles and they wouldn't come back if they damaged peoples cars" Said in his 8 years of car detailing he hasn't damaged one car. His yelp reviews reflect otherwise. Laughed at me and told me he would do "nothing for you" and wouldn't look at the damages or the cameras to see. It looks as if the machinery was consistently swiping my interior door and scratched it up. He told me "if there's scratches there why aren't there any on the other back door? Maybe because the opposite side the machinery is tucked on the inside or IDK but look at my vehicle and have some sympathy and try and handle the situation your company caused with grace. He was such a jerk. I am heart broken, pissed off, and at a loss. I asked to view the cameras and he said no. I watched some employees vacuuming a different vehicle and the back doors were open like 10 inches, not full width and you could see the door opening & partially shutting with their movements. I assume that's exactly what happened when they shampoo with a metal glunky piece and all of the movements caused all the damage. I was told there's nothing they can do and asked for an owners number. He said he couldn't give it to me because there's no one else to contact but him. Him and another employee sat there laughing at me till they closed and he left. RUN AWAY! Do not come here their prices are outrageous and they don't treat you like a human but like a $$$ and they already took my money laughed in my face and ran with it. They do not care - they are brutal and could care less about their customers or the quality of work. Where are your morals and ethics? I got my car washed there and the next day I noticed spots and smears all over the car. It looked like something had been splashed or sprayed on it but there were also smears made from towels. About 2 weeks later I brought it back and had them rewash it. I pointed out that the spots and smears were still there. The worker told me there was nothing he could do about it. I asked for a manager and showed him what had happened. He was unsympathetic and said that someone had thrown something on my car that left those stains. He said that it was not possible for them to have done this. He suggested I get my car detailed. I refused. I hired a professional detailer who told me that it was tire dressing that must have been sprayed accidentally and smeared with towels. It's going to cost me $385 to fix this problem. I wish I could go to small claims court but I can't prove that Genie did it but it's the only place I've had my car washed. read more

I've been going here long before they changed their name to "Genie Car Wash". It seems as though things are continuing to go down hill. You would think that they would want to step up their game when a competitor is going in right across the street. But that's not the case. My husband took my car there Saturday morning and the wash was just ok. True it was a black car, but there was still pollen spots all over the car. There was water spots going down the doors and the windows were dirtier then before the wash due to the fact they obviously were using dirty rags. I have an Atlas, which is a decent size car and I had to vacuum it after coming back from this car wash. I used to go here all the time and it was a decent car wash. I now have a soapy Joes membership and rarely get my car washed. I wanted it to have a deeper wash so I came here. From when I got out of my car to when it was ready was maybe 6 minutes. My car had been towed recently and they marked the window and the car wash did not even scrub it off. I had to call someone back to do it. They in no way wipped down the inside and they left my backseats all pushed foward from the vacumming. I was very dissapointed I paid over $25 for a 6 minute wash that was no better than what I could have done. If you go be very specific with what you want and do not let them rush through it. Meh. If you're looking to get your vehicle quickly washed and a lite wipe, you'll probably be satisfied. But, your car has be already clean, you just need a dusting. My car wasn't super dirty. And it still came out with dirt/dust in the interior, cup holders weren't vacuumed/cleaned at all, bird poop still on the outside, doorways not wiped down. There was some sticky something that was on the center console, I told them twice about it, then had to go get them after they were "finished", and they seemed more annoyed than anything. Is my car cleaner than when I came? Yes. Is it clean? Not really. Will I be back? No. Sorry guys - y'all need to step it up a bit. It wasn't even busy. read more

The guy of course convinced her to pay more and get the "better" wash where they wipe down the inside, etc (since when do washes not wipe down the inside anymore??). I had read the bad reviews about this place but I imagined they were just from one-off disgruntled clients. How can you really be that bad at cleaning cars? Well, I found out today. I paid $25 for the middle of the line car wash. By the time I got out of my car, walked in to pay and send a couple text messages, I was already told my car was ready. How was it possible, I thought? I was amazed. So amazed that I left a tip in the jar. Then I stepped inside the car and realized immediately why it was so fast. They didn't do jack sh*t inside the car. Yes, maybe they wiped the dashboard and windshield with a dirty wet microfiber cloth. They might have attempted to vacuum quickly my rubber mats. But don't worry, they certainly didn't bother lifting those mats to see if there was any cleaning to be done underneath. I could have made a scene right here and then but I was not really in the mood, and really I felt it was my fault for falling for this despite the terrible ratings. So what did I do instead? I drove myself to the new-ish Eco Friendly Auto Spa, paid $13 for their cheapest car wash option, and then used their free DIY vacuum and towels. So yes, I basically cleaned my own car. That's when I realized there were still crumbs on the back seats left by my kids. Those people didn't even vacuums those crumbs. I would say they did a half-*ssed job, but that would be overselling it. At this point, you're probably not wondering whether I'll return or would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came here toward the end of the day for a carwash and asked if they had a mini detail or something that gets a deeper clean than a regular wash. The guy sold me on 6 mini detail washes that supposedly would cover all the basics I wanted done for $260, saying the regular price is $69. I said ok cool. The guys were done way too fast for them to have done a good job but I wasn't trying to be a Karen when they waved me over to grab my car. Everyone was basically leaving for the day so I glanced inside and even though I saw some smudges on the dashboard, I shrugged and left. When I got home and actually I looked all over the car, I saw that they hadn't even wiped the back of the seats, they hadn't wiped down the seats themselves. There was gunk in all the crevices in the center console. They didn't even vacuum the back (of my SUV). I haven't had the time nor energy to go back and complain but I'll be looking extremely carefully for the rest of the "mini details" I got to make sure they don't half@ss the next ones. If this is the quality of a $70 carwash, I cannot imagine how awful they do for the regular ones. read more

The individual who asked me what kind of wash I wanted I asked for their #3 package which included vaccines, wash, polish wax, clear coat sealer, air freshener, tire dressing, superior shine and protectant, wheel bright and exterior dressing. He went on to offer me an interior shone and wipe down service for an additional $10. Guess if the offer was no accepted you get shitty service. The service was done within 12 min and they simply did a minor vacuum and a drive through car wash and dry. The car was not much cleaner on the inside than it was when I took it in. When I asked what service was this they said this was their #3. You're better off paying $10 and go to a gas station car wash. Complete waste of time and money. Will be disputing charges. read more

So I keep giving these guys a chance because my wife likes them and I've been here about 6 times now. Overpriced, car is treated as a speedy assembly line with no care or attention to detail. Wipe down on the interior even after getting their highest #3 wash looks barely touched with dust and crumbs still there. Carpet still has dirt. I've been looking for a new car wash in North County since the Auto Park Way one closed and converted to a self serve car wash. Well I won't be returning to this place. I knew when the guy said he was done it was going to be a terrible job, because it was just too fast. The lady tried to upsell me to the $60 wash with the interior wipe down. I'm glad I said no if the $28 wash is any indication. Bugs and crud still on the car, vacuum job was sub par. I had to wipe down, and clean the windows again. After mistakenly spilling some lotion on my new car's passenger seat, I came to Genie Car Wash for a shampoo. They did not remove the stain but they DID treat me rudely and damage my car. After taking my car through the wash, an employee returned my car to me and said they were able to get the spot out, "no problem." My car was returned to me with a loose plastic sheet covering the seat. Regrettably, I did not check under the plastic sheet until I got home. I trusted them when they said the stain was gone and I did not even think to check for damage or anything like that... Big mistake. When I got home and removed the plastic, I unveiled a seat with the same stain plus threads popping up from the cushion. I tried coming back the next day but it was Easter Sunday so they were closed. I work M-F and was not able to get back to Genie during their business hours until Saturday. In the meantime, I called and spoke with a woman who asked me to text her pictures of the damaged seat. I did that but did not hear back. I briefly talked with the manager by phone and agreed to meet him on Saturday. On Saturday, the manager was rude to me when I showed him the damage and insisted it was my fault! He said that he shampoos many cars per day and no one else has had damage so I must have damaged the seat by having people sit in it with car keys in their pockets! Umm, this is a brand new car and no one sat in it between the time I had it cleaned and the time I brought it back to show him the damage. After talking with the Subaru dealer who leased me the car, they referred me to a car interior specialist. That specialist said that it looked like an old machine was used and/or someone cleaned it too aggressively, and I will need to replace the seat covers. I gave Genie's manager the opportunity to make things right, asking him to at least refund me the $50 I spent on the wash plus $150, which is the minimum it will cost for me to have the Subaru professional steam clean the seat. In response, the manager tried to give me coupons for more washes! Obviously, I am not going to risk a wash here ever again. He finally agreed to refund me $50 when I mentioned that I saw reviews on Yelp and Google and know I am not the only one who has suffered damages at his business. I hope I have saved at least one person from a terrible experience here. :( read more
