The restaurant is very clean after the renovation and the staff were all friendly. The food-serving robot was our only reason for going here and was definitely just as fun as having a conveyor belt. It plays a song while rolling up to your table with a peppy tune that gets better everytime you hear it. We got everything delivered correctly and just as fast as a normal waiter would bring it. The bento option is cool but would be great if it was customizable. I would rank this Genki Sushi as the second best on the island- behind Pearlridge with the Shinkansen (electric trains) delivering food. read more

Affordable and such a variety of choices. Genki will always be my go to when craving sushi on a budget. They prefer the use of the QR code and your order either comes on the track in larger restaurants and by robot in the smaller places, like this one. You have to tap buttons on the track or the top of the robot to send it back to the kitchen. The hostess seats you and gives you your preferred utensils, the "server" brings your drinks and bill. My 12 yr old loves it and wants to come back with friends. It's a fun place with great prices. I love the small size options so you can try many items. The wait was reasonable with limited capacity, service was fine and safe. I like the idea of colored plates and pricing, smart and makes checkout faster. Overall the food was fine for stopping in for a quick meal. Parking and access are great and typical of Kapolei. It's not sushi I want to have when I'm in the mood for sushi but definitely serving a niche market. I'm not rating it on being a "sushi restaurant" but what it appears to be to me is exactly as they say "modern kaiten sushi" and bringing sushi to the masses. I get it and nice job! The catering trays look very reasonable and a great idea for parties, work parties, holidays or to have out when visitors arrive. (Mental note to remember that.) We will definitely pick up the Bento To Go deals for $7.99 during the week when no one wants to cook or clean. So I'm guessing the other table took our foods. Only giving 2 stars because the food is honestly what you expect it to be. Nothing special about it. But the service here so bad. We get seated, get asked what we want to drink. Normally they would ask if we need any wasabi, or ginger but the server we had didn't even bother on asking. We had to ask for it ourselves. Not sure when they started this, but they charge 25¢ if you want unagi sauce, or garlic mayo. The whole 45 mins we were there no one came to check on us. We were so disappointed. This is the first time we did a curbside pick up every since this Stay Home Order was put in place. We placed our order online and called when we parked. A staff member came out to collect payment and later came out with our order. I always check our order before leaving and of course one of our items was missing. My husband had to end up going in to correct it. They quickly fixed it and brought it to the car. My advice would be to go over the order at the time in the beginning, but it was no big of deal, I should've of asked. What I do commend her on was how well she sanitized the door handles every time she went in and out. When we got home the quality of the food was as if we were there. I'd recommend them not combining orders in the same containers. With this COVID going around, sharing food is not recommended. read more

I was so excited to try this place especially after the new renovation and the advertisement of the first waitress robots. However the robots gave me anxiety. Although the robots talked it was very loud in the restraunt and hard to hear. The robot delivered part of our order and the sushi was on the first tray. However we didn't know that the second and third tray was reserved for other tables orders so we grabbed those too Upon grabbing the wrong plate of sushi we were scolded by one of the human waitresses. We were not given any direction or instruction from the host or restraunt staff on how to use the robots. Additionally, we were not checked on by the wait staff and often had to waive them down to request extra sauces or napkins. Furthermore the waitress that scolded us for taking the wrong plate of sushi proceeded to reach across my plate and my face grab the plate of sushi and place it on the party's table behind us. Which I found very rude and unsanitary! The service was terrible even with the addition of new robots and the sushi was sub par. Good luck read more

I really hate to give bad reviews but..... Walked in at approximately 3pm so it wasn't busy at all. I was seated but sat there for awhile before anyone even offered water. Workers were not very friendly and definitely not attentive. When my server finally brought water, I figured I may as well put my order in. I ordered spicy tuna and the Hamachi Kama special. After waiting for 13 minutes, I flagged a server down and inquired about the order I put in, at that moment the sushi chef reached over the counter and handed me my order of spicy tuna. Spicy tuna there seemed "dry" and put together very messy! The sushi was falling apart before I even ate it. Finished it up as I was starving and I realized it's been quite some time since I ordered my hamachi Kama so I asked the waitress about it.... she said she'd check on it and be right back. About 3 minutes later she approaches me & tells me that they are out of hamachi Kama. No sorry, no offer of something else on the menu, no nothing! Ok.... 18 minutes later you tell me this??? Genki ewa beach use to be my go to place for a quick fix of sushi. Now they have these robots bringing you food. These new robots have a couple of selves on them and it was a bit confusing because when it came to our table we weren't sure what was ours. One of the staff finally came over and told us the top shelf was ours. We didn't even have time to collect all of our food because the robot took off to go serve another table. I felt it was unsanitary because people are touching food that don't belong to them and this robot up and leave's whenever it wants to. Once we came in, the first lady that welcomed us just seemed irritated and not friendly at all. You have to be realistic and understand this is pretty much a drive through sushi spot, and not an upscale restaurant that charges $20 a Roll for top quality ingredients in its sushi. It's a great place to bring the family and not break the bank. The Tuna rolls are all awesome! Also by not selling liquor or beer it keeps down the cost of this place. Food is always fresh and hot. You get to see lots of samples of food too since this place uses the conveyor belt to circulate around all the seats. CONs: Long wait time usually unless your able to sit at the bar. Thank you Genki Sushi Ewa. I had placed a take out order for a 3 platters and went early to pay. Love that they don't make your platters till closer to your pick up time so everything is still fresh. The employee who helped me during check out was very nice and made sure that my order was made when it did. She gave me a courtesy call on my phone because I didn't want to wait inside for it. Better now. They actually don't leave old food on the belt. Service is way faster and friendly. Also I like how chill it is. I know Genkis disappeared mostly after that incident but I still love it. I watched the sushi makers too and they are chill and know what they are doing. Another I like is as soon as they are doing making it they directly hand it over to you. Everything I have is always very tasty and when I ordered hot items it was nice and hot and you could smell the yumminess as they put it down. me and my boyfriend had placed an online order at exactly at 7:52pm while they closed at 9pm.. we had arrived at 8:15. yet with no confirmation code to saying they received it so we went in. they said it wasn't ready.. Even the Kaneohe location had removed their belt. No more grazing while waiting for your order. Lucky menu is unchanged since my last visit, so basically knew what I wanted. In fortunately my guests didn't, and had to go by the pictures. Because of the delay of delivery, they ended up over ordering to prevent the delay between orders. We ended up taking a lot of excess home. Comment was made that next time we should go Kozo or Ninja. Food was still excellent is the reason for the three stars. I (we) dropped two stars because for what we paid and ate. It was more of the convenience of an Air Conditioned place to sit down with water and tea. We really didn't need the leftovers. This solely has to do with their customer service. The food here is always great and enjoyable, I've never had any issues with that. However, I came to pick up my takeout order today and it took a while for someone to come to the front desk. It wasn't as busy as dinner hours but they did have a lunch time rush. This lady and her son came up after me to pay their check and stood in line after me. The employee asked me if I have been helped and I said, "No." And then the lady and her son proceeded to cut me in line and pay for their check. I wish I had said something but I was just in shock, and I'm also non-confrontational. The employee continued to serve the lady without saying anything, as if this was normal routine, and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or thank me for waiting. Anyway, I don't like writing these reviews but I also feel like there are improvements to be made as far as addressing rude customers like this and serving other customers appropriately. 3 stars would be about right for this location. It's in Ewa, same shopping center as Longs and food-land. This ones been here for awhile but we were craving sushi and this was the closest location. Walking inside the place looks run down and a bit old. It has that smell. What was nice was that they still have the good old belt style sushi. It was 12 and lunch time yet the belt was empty ? There was probably 3-4 plates at the most on there. Got my usual favorites from Genki. Everything just had. A weird after taste tho even though we ordered everything fresh. Even the calamari was a bit greasy and was soggy. Service was friendly but not as attentive as we would have liked . It hurt me to put this up but I hope this place gets an upgrade and maybe even a nice renovation like the one in Kapolei. read more

Parking is easy in the Ewa Beach Center where Foodland is located. That could change with Ramen Ya and Applebee opening up. Been here a few times. It's the usual what you can expect, similar to all other locations. I'll come here when I have a craving and don' feel like driving far. All though it does get busy during peek hours, we haven't had problems being seated right away. Staff is on top of their game greeting us as we enter and making sure water is brought over as well taking additional orders. Good to see there were no flies traveling about. Still, I would not pick anything up from the conveyor belt unless I knew it was just placed there. Probably not. There have been a few times where my order, or part of my order, is somehow lost. I'm really getting annoyed with this. It is what it is when it is busy I guess. There are a few times I have to ask for a refill when it's not busy. I try to come after the lunch crowd for a more relaxed atmosphere. I think, but I'm not sure, the quality of the ingredients might be lower than some of the other locations. It's still good but I just don't get that satisfaction I'm use to. Happy it is there to satisfy my sushi craving until I am up to traveling into town or Kapolei. read more

There was a man in front of me taking forever to place a big order, and another 2 adults with several kids waiting to pay. I counted 5-6 workers standing around. I asked one of the employees if I could have my order, which was already paid for online. She thought about it, looked at a single order all alone on the table, and said "no, just wait for him" (referring to the cashier who was currently very busy). I'd have no problem waiting if everyone is busy, but if several people are standing around, why not help out to try to reduce the amount of people standing in line? Especially during these covid times and considering that this area is a tight space. When I finally spoke to the cashier, I simply said my name and he handed me my order. Now how hard was that? I always come here with kids before my volleyball and basketball games in Ewa. I like here because they girls working here are always friendly and service is great! I never need to wait long before someone is ready to take my new order. The food is your typical genki fare. Overpriced cheap sushi. I always get the green bean tempura sushi, corn sushi, garlic ahi, usually order a side of mushroom tempura. My kids get the spam sushi or egg sushi with edamame (soybeans). Kids love eating here and always wants to be the waitress at the end to count how many of each plates we ate.
