One had a steakhouse burger which she really liked as well and we split Shed Fries and Sweet Potato fries. All was delicious. I knocked one star off because we all really felt the burgers should have come with fries as opposed to a pickle spear and coleslaw. For the price, an added pile of fries would have been nice as opposed to having to order a side plate. That aside, food was delicious, service was spectacular. John was super friendly and helpful with choices too. Tempted to go back to try their brunch items! Maybe before I leave I'll get back there!

Everyone was so sweet and really made us feel like a part of the family. When we sat down the owner gave us complimentary blueberry-banana bread that she had baked this morning - it was delicious! Two of us have dietary restrictions that we are usually hesitant to ask about, but at that point Monique had spoiled us so much (9 options for toast!) and traded so many jokes that we felt totally comfortable asking for modifications. The food was amazing- I loved my blueberry banana bread pancakes, the potatoes were really delicious, everyone's food was cooked perfectly. We left more than half of it (and noticed the table next to us did the exact same thing). For nearly $50, this was inexcusable. --Chicken parmesan ($42), large portion, but completely mediocre. Okay marinara sauce, but nothing special. --Filet mignon ($52), cooked to the requested temperature, but looking back at the menu, it was missing the listed demi-glace entirely. No wonder it tasted so lacking. --Parmesan fries ($12), suggested by our server to pair with the steak, but they arrived cold--and our waitress disappeared for a long while so we couldn't send them back. I finally met up with a few friends--one who lives in the area--and we decided to try it. I'm really glad we did. One of my friends is a native Mexican and an excellent cook, and even she agreed the food tasted authentic. We ordered the huevos rancheros with green sauce, plus both the pork and chicken tamales. Nothing disappointed. The tamales were moist--something I appreciate since many places serve them too dry. The only small suggestion I'd make is for the staff to ask if we'd like extra sauce for the tamales, which would make them perfect. Others in our group tried tacos and tostadas and felt the portions were generous; delicious and the prices very fair. The décor gives you the feeling of a neighborhood spot in Mexico. It's not fancy, but it's warm and welcoming. There were a lot of takeout orders while we were there--and it was only 10 a.m.--with people from all backgrounds coming in and out. Clearly, they have a loyal customer base. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions.  She did a great job checking in often since we were there for hours.   I'm already looking forward to coming back.
