For many years I received great service until recently when my dentist retired and the whole experience changed. Suddenly I have to sign in 6 places that terrible things will happen if I don't accept everything they want to do such as lots more expensive X-rays and procedures not covered by insurance. I had a terrible experience with Dr. Riley at this location, and this company in general. Dr. Riley didn't seat my crown properly, so after a period of time bacteria was getting between my tooth and the crown, causing decay. I eventually needed a root canal, and on top of that had to pay for another crown which my insurance wouldn't cover because it was the same tooth in a short period of time. In total, I paid over $1700 out of pocket to remedy the issue. I filed a quality of care complaint with the office, which they took 6 months to respond to. After repeated calls, I was finally asked to sign a grievance resolution letter where they did not admit any wrong doing but agreed to reimburse me. They never mailed the check. I called multiple times over three months, and the office manager repeatedly failed to call me back. I finally got a hold of her and she had no explanation for the delay. She apologized and said I'd have the check within 10 business days. It's been a month and I have not received the check. I'm not going to bother calling again. I've been dealing with this for almost a year. No one at this organization cares. They'll dodge your phone calls for months and never follow through. I find it so unprofessional. read more

The first time I went here, I was completely impressed by how nice the staff is. I liked my hygienist. She did a good job. so for my next appointment, I had a cleaning and a dental exam scheduled. I was out camping in the woods and I left the group early to make sure that I got there on time and when I arrived, I was told that the dentist had quit and they didn't have a dentist! I went to a huge effort to be on time and they could've at least notified me. I went ahead and got my teeth cleaned, which was just not even close to the first cleaning that I got . She was in and out and done. However, my insurance company got charged for the dental exam. So I worked that out with the front desk. They said it was a mistake and they fixed it. ( I think ins. Paid anyway) Next time I went in, they started charging me for things that my dental insurance pays for, such as cleanings , and said that it didn't cover it. They do cover it. Also had a new dentist who literally looked in my mouth and left the room said everything was OK. I went back one more time and had that same dentist and he did do a couple of fillings for me and everything was fine. However, I had to pay more money than I've never ever had to pay, even though my insurance company said I should not have to pay for it because I called them. I went in for the final time and I say the final time because this is when I told them I was going to get a new dentist. Went for my appointment and right upfront They started listing all these things that I needed to get done that weren't covered by my insurance and I just looked at them and said no. I'm gonna get a new dentist. And I did and guess what I needed some major work done that probably wouldn't have been as bad, Had the dentist noticed it when I was in there. This used to be a great place, now it's an impersonal assembly line corporate tooth shop that only cares about your credit card. When Dr. Siget was here it was really good and it was a real stable lace with people you recognized at every appointment. I agree with many of the comments I have seen here, It seems like most of the receptionists are here for their first job and have poor people skills. Kim is one of the few that have been here a while and always has a smile but rarely works the front desk. They recently called me to let me know that the Hygienist they scheduled me with was not going to be working on the day of my appointment. Oh and by the way we can reschedule you in three months... I believe I am going to take this time to find another dental office. read more

I went to my appointment Saturday they told me I would have to pay out of pocket because can not verify insurance on Saturday. I explained my insurance was verified Friday. The front desk staff on the ortho side are incredibly rude. Apparently they called to change my appt. I never got a message but I did have a missed call. They then changed my appointment without confirming with me. I show up for the originally scheduled time only to find out it was changed for 2 hours earlier without my knowledge. The front desk person was extremely rude to me about it. Umm, if the patient doesn't confirm the time change then DON'T CHANGE THE TIME!! It's really not that complicated. This is not our normal dentist, but my son had a tooth break in half so I needed to find someone open on a Saturday. The call center was friendly and very helpful. When we showed up for the appointment, the woman at the front desk rudely mentioned that she couldn't see our appointment anywhere and continued to complain about the call center. She then asked rather snarkily if they at least told me that it would need to be paid in cash because she wasn't going to verify my insurance. Only after I apologized for our emergency being an inconvenience to her did she change her tone. I understand people have bad days and things are more stressful right now, but there are ways to deal with that stress and it's not by taking it out on new patients. The dentist and hygienist were absolutely wonderful, which is why I'm not giving them one star. read more

I found that my dental insurance would be ending on 2/28. Knowing I needed some work done, needing it done in the near term, and having recently moved to Vancouver, went to the Gentle Dental. I have nothing but good things to say about all the staff that I came into contact with. After my first appointment it was looking like, based on what needed to be done, that it was gonna be tough getting everything done before my insurance ended. While standing at the front desk making a future appointment about 3 weeks away, Kim told me she could get me in later that same day if I was available. Thank you Kim. We did that. I came back and was once again attended to by Miriam (medical assistant) and Jana (hygenist). They were both very pleasant and had great bedside manners. They regularly asked about my comfort throughout each visit. After Jana completed my initial appointment, and knowing I was going to need two additional visits over a relatively short period of time, she spoke with Kim and they were able to move things around and squeeze me in for my second appointment a couple days later. Miriam called me a couple times to let me know they could even see me earlier! The second appointment was as good as the first, and because they worked within my insurance restrictions, everything will be completed before my insurance runs out. Well After being told my daughter had two cavities, (at 5 years old) and since she is afraid of needles I made an appointment to have her put under general to fill them. I was told to be there at 9;30 and we were. At 11;00 pm i walked out. I was told by the very nice office person, that the person before us had x-rays done, and that they found more work than they expected, well then that work should have been rescheduled, because my daughter was starving and thirsty, and after an hour and a half and we were still waiting.. no way!! Bad Bad business practice and now after reading all the other negative reviews, I am wondering if she has cavities at all?? Whatever you do don't go here! I went in last month for a regular exam. First thing after sitting down the hygienist comments on how beautiful my rings are and liked my designer Jeans. Now I though it was strange but maybe she was just being nice. Then came the X-rays. I'm talking old fashioned back in the 60 style X rays! Took forever. Now here comes the worst part. The dentist said I needed a bite plate, a retainer and had 4 cavities. Mind you I've only had 4 cavities in my life and I'm 45 years old. Something just didn't sound right. So I took my X-rays and got a 2nd opinion. I went to the new dentist and they said the X-rays were so old they couldn't use them and offered to do digital ones for FREE. And guess what? I HAD NO CAVITIES!!!!!! NONE!!! Gentle Dental in HD was completely going to rip me off and tear into my teeth to do it! Please beware of this place. read more

My family has gone to this location since I was little. Dr Siget is amazing. Even after not seeing me for about a year and a half, he asked about myself and my whole family. Asked how my parents move went out of state, etc. after I lost my dental insurance he worked with me and did as much work as I could afford instead of forcing me into more. I tried a different location once, closer to my home at the time and I'll never stray away from highway 99 again. definitely recommend this location. read more

It took 4 visits just for a cleaning. My insurance pays for crown but this place wanted $1500 for 'crown preparation. The dentist I went to did for my insurance payment with no out of pocket cost. This place used all my insurance and guaranteed me no out of pocket but still charged me over $120. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE OR RECOMEND IT TO ANY ONE. Seems like a rip off to me. read more

Apparently the new thing in dentistry is to refuse service to those patients who do not want or cannot afford all the very expensive stuff they try to add on to basic dental care. All I want is cleanings, fillings and whatever else might be needed, but I do not want all this other stuff. It is indeed a shame the patient no longer has the right to make the choices they need. I go to this Gentle Dental office for periodontal and ortho work as they accept my insurance there. My original periodontist was Dr. Grant, who took the time to look over what my dentist had asked for, asked me some questions, and did the usual exam. She came up with a plan that made sense: deep cleaning with follow up and a gum flap procedure for one problem area. I had to put off the gum flap for two months due to work and the holidays, but made it in recently to have the procedure done. As usual, the desk staff are great. I paid for the flap procedure and was shortly thereafter called in. Then I sat in the chair for half an hour. A doctor I didn't know came in and apologized for the wait and started doing an exam. I tried to tell him I was in for a specific procedure, but he wanted to work up a comprehensive plan of his own. Then...off he goes back to another patient. For another 45 minutes. He comes back and says he recommends cutting my upper gums back across the board and scraping the bone. And keeps pushing it. I tell him I'm just in for the one procedure and that I'll talk about his recommendation with my dentist. Then he disappears. The assistant starts removing my bib and i tell her I had paid to have a procedure done. The front desk person comes in and wants to know what kind of problem I'm having. I explain I paid for a procedure and I have no clue what the heck is going on. The periodontist reappears about 20 minutes later and basically goes back through his "plan." At that point, I'm disgusted. I'd wasted a whole afternoon of work on nothing. If you get the right person, you're good to go. But this office has to understand that some people take relationships with their professionals more seriously than others. I was not informed that my periodontist no longer worked at the facility, I sat in the chair for half an hour and was simply surprised by the new guy--who had not even taken the time to find out what it is I was there for. For me, that's a serious breach of courtesy. I have a right to choose my doctors. The org does not have the right to simply pop anyone into my mouth they happen to have laying around. So things didn't go well. My advice: before going into follow on appts, make sure the doctor you make the agreement with on plan details is the doctor that's going to see you. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time and could lead to procedure choices that don't make sense to you. read more

I have been going to this location for as long as I can remember. The staff are all friendly! I enjoy going to appointments to catch up with the staff. I was there today and my appointment only took about 30 minutes. However the previous time that I was there, I had to wait about 30 minutes to be taken from the waiting room . Then I had to wait another 45 minutes to see the dentist. The staff was apologetic and have me a Starbucks gift card. Overall, I have had a good experience here! read more

My partner went here against my advice when her crown started to feel loose. She called and explained the problem and an appt. was made for a couple of days down the road. I guess the first appointment was just for the purpose of charging an exam fee, because they looked in her mouth, confirmed the loose crown, took an xray and indicated she had to come back for another appointment so they could determine what the problem was. When she came back, it was determined that the tooth had to be extracted. Unfortunate, but not the dentist's fault. However, it seems that the dentist was anything but gentle. She was in pain for well over a week. The dentist did prescribe pain meds, but no antibiotics! Even though the tooth was so decayed that it had to be pulled and the dentist elected to suture the flap closed, trapping any bacteria that were there. Moreover, she was not given any discharge instructions indicated how to keep the area clean or what to do if there was a problem. The next morning, she woke up looking like a chipmunk and with tons of pressure. I suggested that she may have an infection and should call to ask for antibiotics. Luckily, these were called in to the pharmacy right away, but they should have been prescribed in the fist place and in order to get them, she had to schedule a follow up appointment, bringing the total visits to 3. One star for low prices. Not worth it, but there you go. read more

Dr. Riley and Dr. Bassili were wonderful to me. The care was quick yet compassionate and they seemed to genuinely care about my comfort and the need to have my dental issues addressed. Getting in to see both of them was rapid and easy, and the front desk receptionists were wonderful as well. They were able to quickly and accurately tell me what I could expect my payment to be and were able to get me in to be seen within days. I would recommend, I felt very welcome. read more

Seriously, as much as I was rooting for these guys even after hearing bad reviews and having some bad work done, I've finally had enough bad experiences to call it quits. I have been going there since I was young and after switching from the dentist I went to prior, this place felt like it was heaven sent! But over the years I've watched a gambit of dentists cycle through and had the quality of work drop immensely. My final straw has been this past year: I learned I was going to be losing my dental insurance last year around July, so I made a final appointment to get any work needed done before I had to start paying out of pocket. They fit a cleaning and three fillings (which seemed like a lot but I wasn't going to argue it since I was just desperate to get my mouth in tip-top shape) in over a period of a week and sent me on my way. They told me my mouth would hurt for a week or so, but after it continued to hurt for weeks, followed by months, I finally called to see if they could do anything regardless of my lack of insurance. The next day, POP, out came one of the fillings. They got me in fix broken filling and trimmed down the other fillings to adjust my bite. My mouth felt better for a couple weeks, then my other tooth started to hurt. Not even 6 months later, that filling broke. Same story, got me in, fixed it, sent me on my way. That was about...2 weeks ago? And now, guess what? The other tooth, the one she fixed the first time? It just broke today! And the filling she fixed two weeks ago is still in pain, leading me to believe it's been done improperly (even though she filled it, deemed it not good enough, drilled it out again, and re-filled it). I'm absolutely livid. And in incredible pain! But I refuse to go back to this place because it has been proven enough times to me that they either don't know what they are doing or they just don't care. Either way, fuck. that. The thing that upsets me the most is that, you pay for someone to do a job that you can't do yourself. I've trusted my dental health into these individuals and it has been nothing but handled carelessly, to say the least. Any doctor of any kind with this much proven inexperience/botched jobs would no doubt lose their license, and I can assure you that I will be researching who to contact in order to get an investigation going. read more

My wife agreed to have a cavity done by Dr. Kelly Riley after she was numbed and could not feel anything this doctor started grinding another tooth, beside the one she agreed to be done and made the filling on a very healthy tooth. This doctor's dental practice is a rip-off. I will be complaining to Dental Assoc. I was also, told that I MUST do a "Deep Cleaning" Beware of this: because this is where you will get ripped off the most!. "The hygienist will not do a regular clean-up that is supported/paid by the insurance, but only this." according to Kim (the receptionist). read more

From a dentist who can't count (2 pills every six hours by 2.5 days needed to get through the weekend is more than 12 pills) to an "after hours" emergency dentist who talks over you and refuses to listen, this practice has been the WORST medical/dental experience of my 57 years. They "triple book" their dentists -- the reason they told me they couldn't get me called back on Saturday -- and their dentists to not write legally mandated notes including what they prescribed! Do not walk but RUN as fast as you can. The original enodontist only gave me one option for my problem ... there are 3. Interesting that he chose the one that is the most expensive!
