The venue is beautiful and most of the seats have excellent views. The food is quite good and nicely presented. The service left something to be desired though. Our waiter didn't have his face shield on and had his nose sticking out of his mask. Furthermore he was sharing alcoholic drinks with the patrons behind us which is rather unprofessional. We asked the staff for an extra bread roll a couple times and eventually just gave up. The valets however were very polite and cordial. read more

I can't rate the food nor the drinks because we had to leave the restaurant within first 10 minutes. However, I can rate the service. Starting with the hostess, who was semi rude and could care less where to seat us. Was in the middle of the weekday, the restaurant had only 4-5 tables. But it did take them 5-7 minutes to even stop by and offer some water (and its hot in LA). Three female waitresses walked by my table several times, glanced over but didn't attempt to serve water or drinks. Finally, an older male waiter stopped by, with a rude tone offered water, I ordered 2 cocktails, and then he turns around and takes an order from a table that had 5 people and who already had drinks and H2O. My patience was over, I just had to leave. No matter how cheap or expensive your restaurant is, the service should be one of the most important things to look for. Good luck. read more

Geoffrey's was very much highly recommended, seeing that it has a ridiculous amount of reviews with over 1700 reviews and counting...However, my experience at the restaurant was just okay. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary dinner. We found a parking spot alongside the PCH, which was very close walking distance to the restaurant. Otherwise, the only other parking situation is valet and I believe it was $9-$10. We arrived around 7 minutes early for our reservation time (7 PM) and the host said that a table will be opening up soon closer to 7 PM. We decided to go for a quick walk down to the beach to look at the sunset real quick (the coastal access is on the left hand side when walking into the restaurant). Our little buzzer rang rang in abut 5 minutes and we headed straight up. My issue is that the host had a rude attitude and said to my boyfriend "Where have you been man? I called you..." Well DUDE...we were only a couple minutes late since we had to walk up back from the beach. This just left a bad start to our overall experience at the restaurant. Regardless, the host handed us off to another hostess and immediately sat us. Our server was very friendly and courteous, even though it seemed like he was very busy handling a multitude of tables. Other table servers helped out as well with refilling the waters and making sure to take out dishes away. The service was overall attentive, but very laid back in the sense that the server gave us time to bask in the beautiful ocean view and enjoy our food. Food was hit or miss. For appetizers, we got the Ahi Tuna Tartar and the Asian Fried Pork Drummlettes (something like that...). Ahi Tuna Tartar was great, however I would pass on the latter since it was a bit dry. We shared the Tahitian Corn Chowder, which had a mini lump crab cake. This was amazing, definitely recommend. Also the server was great in that he split the soup for us in two bowls already and put the lump crab cake on the side (great attention to detail). My boyfriend had the Seafood Paella and I had the Sauteed Day Boat Sea Scallops. The scallops were cooked to the perfection and the risotto was very rich and decadent. My gripe is I did not like the pomegranate reduction it came with; it was way too sweet and I think overpowered the whole dish. For dessert, we got the creme brulee, which had a nice chocolate surprise at the bottom. Overall, the restaurant service was amazing, even though the host needs some work. You come here for the view, but you'll get great service and food while you look. And you'll pay the price for it too, but we knew that going in. We had Hans, and he was a great waiter! I also overheard his interactions with other tables and was impressed. I wanted to pretend I knew nothing about wine just to have him go into detail with me like he did other tables... he paired it their food and their liking- it's exactly what perfect service looked like. My filet mignon was delicious, mashed potatoes yumm! I got 2 glasses of wine (1 from the bar while we waited for our reservation and 1 at the table, also great!) My only bad feedback: we were seated on the front glass with view of the water. (Yay) but all the way against the wall. You could hear water dripping the entire time, must have had a drainage system on the opposite side of that wall. Sounded like a constant shower running, so I couldn't hear the ocean waves as well as I could see them. I'd assume any other seat in the house would have been a 5 star experience. The food is good not that great but it is good. Service was a little slow, it took us almost 1 and a half hours to finally order. I got the Spicy Bloody Mary and Coastal cucumber drinks,both had a strong alcohol taste rather than a delicious mix of flavors. Geoffreys is the best view in Malibu. It's perched right above the ocean. It's a great place for celebrations or date night. I especially love their espresso martini, and their scallops. I've been there a couple times on thanksgiving, and they do not let me down. One time I got a quail dish the was for thanksgiving and it was amazing! I really wanted to like this place as it was going to be our proposal night. It also took us a while to get there due to traffic on a hot weekend. We were dressed pretty formal on a hot Sat night. Really wanted this night to be special... The oysters were pretty overpriced for the quality. The table they sat us in we couldn't see the view that well. There was an empty table which we asked was still in the server's section. I asked to move there. We asked three staffs and the manager came back saying since we ordered we can't move to another table. I never had a problem in any other restaurant to change seats. Hey...I understand it covid but all they need to do was sanitize the table again. We hinted to the server it is a special night. They ended up seating people who were dressed in shorts. At least give us a better reason than its the "company policy" The best service was the tall busser he was exceptional and was always clearing our table. The server could have introduce himself as our server. He did try to compensate the night with ice cream to make us feel better. This place is pretty good, not amazing, but pretty good. For 2 people 1 drink a piece, an app, entrees, dessert, tax and tip you're looking at $150-$200 out the door. I don't mind spending that kind of money on food if it's amazing, but not if it's just pretty good. Having said that of course the views are amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive and the overall feel isn't stuffy or stuck up at all, just a cool friendly vibe. I made reservations and requested ocean view. Our table was not with an ocean view the host explain only party of 4. I decided to ask our waiter if we can get a table with an ocean view , he said he will try to bring an extra chair so we can have the table. Later the manager comes saying oh I am sorry but we have a group of 5 seating there. So this whole time the host lied and they decided to give it to to this group of older fancy ppl. My rating on the food is a 1 Star my lobster did not have any flavor, and it was cold. My friend order a filet mignon , ask for it to be medium well and it was rare. The drinks were okay I give that 3 stars. My other friend took the salmon to go, the salmon had bones! Overall it was a horrible experience. Just called to make a reservation to celebrate a very important ocasion (our ENGAGEMENT) and it's unfortunate that the girl that answered the phone didn't feel comfortable speaking to people on the phone. Her approach was nonetheless dipleasant. We wish she could find a job that is more fulfilling so those frustrations are taken care off. We're trying not to let her put a damper on our special day, but upper management needs to be aware of her very rude tone with us. Came here last Sunday for my mom's birthday. We had a great time and service was great. I made reservations a month prior to it and requested outdoor seating. Once we got there we were seated promptly but they only had inside tables. I completely understand that seating is first come and first serve but it was a little disappointing. The view wasn't as amazing as we thought, but we didn't make a big deal about it. We wanted to order a bottle of champagne and requested "Veuve Clicquot" yellow label, but our server kindly said they were out and we requested a "Moet Chandon". We aren't the type of people to complain about the price of a bottle of champagne but we wanted the less expensive one but little did we know he brought out the one that was double in price. It wasn't until the bill that we realized it was the pricier one. The champagne was delicious, so we didn't complain! The service was excellent and I can't say anything bad about it. Our waters were always full, our champagne glasses always full, and the bread guy kept offering us bread! The bread is so addicting!!!! So beware! The food was very good! Everyone had a different type of fish. I highly recommend the tuna tartar, it was bomb! We also ordered dessert, the cheesecake was AMAZING!! I Love this place!!! every time I go I have a good time. The views are beautiful (day or night) and the food is delicious. This time I went for the Thanksgiving Pre-Fixed menu and it was worth it ($75.00 for a 3 course meal). I had Crab Cakes (sprinkled with Cranberries), Scallops over Risotto, and cheesecake for desert. The portions are small but full of flavor. The ambiance,decor, and lighting was breathtaking even at night when you couldn't see the actual ocean. I've been for Brunch and its even better because your overlooking the Malibu cliffs and beach. Never coming back Overcooked steak, mediocre mashed potato's, steamed Brussel sprouts with what seemed like grocery store bought dressing (Not good). Wife's fish was ok at best. Well the restaurant gets five stars for ambience but as a vegan, I would've liked some actual vegan choices as theirs are quite lame. They offer the beyond burger, but the bun that comes with it is NOT vegan so what's the point? They only have one other dish I saw where they have to take out one of the main flavorful ingredients for it to be vegan. WHAT??? I'm so shocked that a California restaurant that is considered high end is so behind in plant based options!!! The bloody Mary was highly mediocre. So if you are plant based, I would not go there until they get on the ball. Also they had 4 really young women checking you in when you arrive- not one of them told me that they were going to text me when my table was ready and we were sitting on a bench right in front of them!!! So as I saw family after family going in front of us I realized it's because I never saw the text message. It would've been nice to know that so I could hold onto my phone and wait for the notification. However, the restaurant is pretty old and dated, the food is pretty mediocre, the service was very slow/inattentive. Our drinks were never refilled and our server check in us once after ordering. The food was not plated nicely and was pretty boring. Overall I wouldn't recommend this spot. There's many more great restaurants in Malibu that are better quality for the same price. This might be one of the worst "high end" restaurants I've tried. Literally nothing that was ordered had any salt or spices. Everything was tasteless from the crab cakes to the halibut. Literally tasteless. I've never had tasteless crab cakes before, and I've had MUCH better tasting crab cakes from the freezer aisle at Costco. Our waiter was great but talked a little too much. Upon arriving at our table, the seats were dirty and needed to be cleaned. It was just a mess overall tbh. The view is neat but I mean... it's Malibu..
