This is a review of not only today's visit but of my previous visits as well at this restaurant. The reason I want to combine them is because there's definitely a level of consistency that has to be praised. We walked in and the hostess greeted us right away and sat us immediately. Within moments we were served water and bread. Our waitress Hannah ( I hope I spelled it correctly) was very pleasant and professional. As far as the menu, they have great things in every category to pick from. If you like brussel sprouts you must try them here. They are absolutely fantastic. They also have a special menu that changes every so often. I want to praise the staff who has always been very courteous and prompt with any request but a special thanks goes to the general manager Matt who seems to really manage the team and the business well. read more

We had the chili pop shrimp for the appetizer ( similar to the Bang Bang Shrimp but without the spice). My wife had the jumbo crab cakes and said she liked them better then G&M's. I had the filet mignon center cut, it was really good,probably in my top 10 of all the steaks I have had. I also got the mashed potatoes, they were just okay, nothing great about them (I have tasted better). Overall I give it 4 stars out of 5, because of the potatoes and the price of the meal. Had a great experience here on Christmas. Our waiter was very friendly and we really appreciate everyone there who was working on the holiday. My favorite part of the meal was the appetizers. We got the chili shrimp, which were amazing and perfectly cooked (and the salad greens with the chili sauce were so yummy!). And we got the fried brussels sprouts which were soooo good. I could have eaten 3 more bowls of those. They were the perfect blend of sweet and spiced (not spicy!). And of course the crunchy bits. Yum! I got the filet, which for some odd reason had already been cut into before it arrived? Maybe someone in the back wasn't sure if they'd cooked it right. I dunno. Weird but not bad. The filet was good but not the best steak I've ever had. The green beans and onion rings on the side were crispy and delicious. I didn't get dessert but stole the whipped cream from my boyfriend's dessert. I tell him I'm "saving" him because he's lactose intolerant. ;-) read more

So all this time I have been itching to give Grillfire a try because I love seeing what these celebrity chefs with their reputations on the line bring to a restaurant concept. Turns out I was getting George Martin mixed up with George Mendes. Grillfire is a beautiful restaurant attached to a beautiful hotel located just far enough away from Arundel Mills that you can avoid the insanity of the mall entirely if you so choose. There is some street parking in the condo/business park out front, but plenty in the easily accessed parking garage. We were recently at a Canadian steakhouse, so felt compelled to order the Cajun Poutine appetizer to share with the table. Normally I am pretty unimpressed with French fries with gravy and cheese, but this interpretation of the dish was amazing. Instead of French fries, they used butterflied potatoes, and the Cajun heat supplied in part by Andouille sausage really elevated the dish. They really out-Canadaed Canada and we all really enjoyed it. Alas, the rest of our meal was entirely average. My Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender and treated exactly how it should be. But it had such mild seasoning as to be completely bland on its own. It matched well with the ramekin of provided barbecue sauce, but a great steak shouldn't need anything. My wife ordered the Pepper Smoked Beef Brisket, and was phenomenally disappointed. At a steakhouse, with so many barbecue options, we expected the brisket to be thick and tender with a lovely smoke ring around the edge. Instead it came out entirely pink, thin, and tough, as if it was a piece of corned beef. It was actually tasty enough, but not what we were expecting nor would we have ever ordered it. They should have a better description in their menu. So this place is okay, it just should be better. read more

Excellent atmosphere with amazing food! Portions plentiful and so delicious!!! The braised ribs were so tender and flavorful. The ribs were fall of the bone tender. Would have received 5 stars except the crab cake wasn't good at all. Definitely not the place to go if you have your palate set on a good crab cake. The after dinner treat that is on the House was totally unexpected and a total delight. (No spoilers here!!) We were able to make reservations easily. And even though they let us know upfront there was a reservation for the same table about an hour and 40 minutes after we were seated, we never felt rushed. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Free parking on the garage. Minimal parking in front but plenty of space of to drop off. Definitely a gem you don't want to miss away from the mundane chains down the street!!! My third visit was on tax day, 4.15.13 Ok, the food is good, strikethrough GREAT, but that Management Dude gets a F (font 100, bold, shadow, etc.). My homie and I met there on Monday for the 19.95 special. We had a salad, mahi-mahi and sorbet. Everything was tasty and I was truly enjoying my salad until I saw the LONG curly black strand of hair. I was PISSED, no beyond PISSED. WHAT THE HELL a sista was hung-a-ry and the joint was good, but grillfire's stock plummeted. Our server, Danny(I think), was very helpful and understanding. After the rest of my hairless food came out, the manager began to walk around. He asked how everything was and I don't know why I forgot to immediately mention our issue. However, while he was going down the next aisle, I put up the church finger and he came over. I told him about the hair and before I could even finish, he said oh I know and I am sooo sorry. Fast fwd, the check comes out and every dam* thing we ordered was on there. Wha.... I mean really!?! So my homie goes to see the manager on our way out and dude says there's no protocol for when things like this happen. Dude you are the manager, imma need you to MANAGE joe. I'd like to say a prayer to Gorge, the god of Food... O' Great Gorge, There's this restaurant called Grillfire that's located in a swank hotel, aptly called "The Hotel." It's attached to a killer parking lot.... It's got outdoor seating... it's a mile from Maryland live Casino... its beautiful and clean... there's just one problem.. the food isn't that good. The portions are too small for the prices they command. There isn't a wide enough selection to choose from and the appetizer selection is just a bunch of unhealthy fried stuff. If there is any way you can put awesome food at the Grillfire, I will forever be grateful to you and support this fine establishment on a regular basis. I realize that you are a busy God... watching over millions of restaurants. But if you could just boost the quality of food at Grillfire I would really appreciate it. I've been wanting to try the spot out for some time now and finally the time came... Am I satisfied? No not really!!! First... Walking in to the establishment is pleasing to the eye. Dark, cozy and romantic (perfect for a date). Second... We were greeted and seated very quickly (approx 9:45pm). Which seemed to be the only quick thing about our experience. Smh. Third... Not to long after we sat down we were brought water and bread. Okay so... We couldn't drink the water at the time cause we were not given straws. The bread left alot to be desired. I expect a so called "Cheese Bread" to have a good amount of cheese in it and what's up with this little pat of butter between the slices. Nope not worth it. Glad it's complimentary! Forth... We sat a long time before we ever seen our Waiter. Two other couples were seated around us. One couple in front of us and one behind us. Those tables orders were taken before ours and I was starting to get pissed. Minutes later our Waiter was just coming with our Arnald Palmers. Cause I was really to walk out. Fith... We wanted an appetizer prior to seating but because it took so long to order we just went straight for the Entrée. So the restaurant loss out on money. Okay so for the food!!! Yea!!! My Husband order the Country Fried Chicken Breast and I ordered the Lump Crab Cakes both were great dishes. The food did not take the place of the service but it was good. The Arnold Palmer's we ordered were not that great. Needed to be more sweet. After we left the restaurant and was elsewhere it popped in my head that we did not receive out Cotton Candy which drew me to the restaurant in the first place. I take it all the slowness made me forget. So I'm very disappointed about that. Will I come back? Yes, to give the service another chance plus the food was good. Will I recommend to others? Back to this place again for lunch. The fries were as good as ever, the steak sandwich still amazing, but their "Grillfire Cobb" salad was pretty bad. Way too little of the non-lettuce ingredients, and a bleu cheese dressing that had almost no flavor. This in addition to the bland crab cake blt really make me think that this place is a "you have to know what to order" place. I'll go back here any time for the burger and the steak sandwich. This review is based on the drinks and the appetizers: Every time i have gone to Grillfire, I've sat in the bar area, which i prefer because i don't ever have a full meal. The Bartenders are all super nice, and always keep a watchful eye on your drinks and are prompt to fill it with whatever you please! The chili pop shrimp is just amazing, even thinking about it now makes my mouth whatever! its soo good!! The Over the Top Mac and Cheese is delicious,i always get that as my entree, if you will and i still have plenty left over!! Its also a great place to go on a date, the setting of the location is perfect for it!! If you are at the Bar asked for or try to sit in Bartender Chris' section!! He is the best!!!! read more

Been living at The Arundel for almost two months before finally visiting the Grillfire restaurant located onsite. Really nice atmosphere for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Great coffee and breakfast entree's. Will visit again soon! read more

I've been there a few times recently. I've had the turkey Reuben and their Caesar salad and both were really good. On my last trip I also had their mango sorbet as a dessert and I'm good it was really wonderful. This review is strictly for breakfast. See my other one for lunch and dinner. So this place suffers from the same shortcomings for breakfast as they do for lunch - namely, middling-to-decent food at way-too-high prices. The price-to-quality ratio is worth it here for dinner, but simply too high for breakfast and lunch. Let's talk about the food though. The kids had chocolate chip pancakes. They are E-NOR-MOUS. I doubt I could have even eaten a stack. So if you bring two kids, get one order to share. Pretty good cakes, though. My wife got the wild mushroom, sausage, and provolone omelet. That's a great combination of ingredients and flavors - I had a bite and would order it myself... ...except that I got the crab cakes Benedict. They serve highly-spiced crab cakes over toasted sweet corn muffins, topped with poached eggs and hollandaise. They were flat-out amazing and I'll certainly be craving that combination of flavors in the future. Home fries are small diced potatoes with onions and red bell peppers. They were simply adequate. The problem is that the whole deal plus tip broke $70. That's way too much for breakfast, George, even around here. read more

The little bowl of small fried shrimp that you'd get from a frozen dinner came out and we were speechless... ok, it's not "bad" tasting, but it's definitely not good not worth the $10... if it came with some lettuce I'd probably have more, but it was served solo and so greasy I don't even know what to say. I expressed this to our waiter and he was shocked and awkward about it... he just avoided us for the rest of dinner. The skirt steak ($18?) was good, but again, nothing amazing and I definitely should've bought some rib eye from Safeway and just grilled it at home. Anyways, the ambience is great. Come here for a cocktail and a different appetizer, maybe you'll enjoy yourself. Don't come for "real" food. read more

We were a party of three coming in for dinner late Sunday evening. There weren't many customers as it was around 9 pm (10 pm closing time). It took a while for the waitress to get our drinks. No straws. Had to specifically ask for straws. That was unnecessary. The garlic bread came next. It was baked with cheese (bleu cheese & parmesan), and was soft and tasty. (We also requested bread without garlic and cheese, and that was delivered as well.) We had the stir fried Brussel sprouts as appetizer. It had a Thai chili glaze. A bit spicy, but the salty flavor was pretty strong. It's a good choice if you like savory sprouts (which I do)! Our entrees consisted of the mandarin crunch salad with soy dressing, the fettuccine with scallops & shrimp, and the baked brie chicken with wild rice. They were all humongous portions, and nobody was able to finish. These dishes were all standard fare; nothing terrible, but nothing special. The wild rice was tasty and flavorful, but the soy dressing for the salad was kind of bland. The pasta dish had jumbo-sized shrimp & scallops, so that was a plus. Another thing: The wedge salad served before the entrees could've been presented better. It looked like it was falling apart. Overall, it was not bad. Nothing memorable. I guess they were wanting to close for the night, as it was already 10 pm when our entrees came out (even though there were other customers). I couldn't decide between 4 and 5 stars... so I went with 5! (don't write reviews when you're hungry) :P The food here was so good. We ordered the Cajun Grilled Swordfish (with a sweet potato crabmeat hash & chili lime butter) and the Steak & Shrimp Surf & Turf (marinated skirt steak and coconut shrimp). Gahhhh they were both so delicious!! The swordfish was cooked perfectly, as was the steak and the shrimp (I feel like all of those are so easy to overcook). Before our food came, our server brought out a cut loaf of bread with brie or some kind of cheese baked into it.... so good. We also had tomato feta salads... also delicious, especially the tomaotes! For drinks, we ordered a glass of pinot grigio from their nice and expansive wine list, and a London Fog/London Lemonade (I can't remember the name... but it was amazing!) from the specialty drink list. Both were very good... not disappointing at all! The ambiance of the place is also very nice. There is a beautiful fireplace separating the restaurant from the hotel lobby, the bar in the restaurant is also nice and somehow they've made it seem separated a bit from the restaurant (which was nice), the lighting was dim but not dark, the booths were comfy, and our server was great.... he didn't hover but was there when we needed him. And after dinner he brought out cotton candy! So different... and I loved it! This place was a little pricey (over $100 for two people), but we had a great time and we were on vacation! Since I have already planned on coming back to the Hotel at Arundel Preserve because we loved it so much, I will definitely be coming back to the Grillfire! read more

Went here last with a friend for drinks, crab cakes and the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics!! Actually they just happen to have the ceremonies playing on most screens and it was hard to look away. It made the night more exciting but it was hardly necessary. First of all, I live in VA so coming to Hanover is.a.HIKE. But the area where this spot is located is very VERY posh..without being overly pretentious. I suppose this center or maybe the Grillfire itself is new in the area because everything, including The Hotel (that's actually the name of the hotel) that it flows right out of it is bubble wrap fresh!! I love nice hotels...and spectacular hotel lounges and decor! And you get to walk right through their grand lobby/lounge to get into Grillfire. I actually wanted to check-in, its so daggone nice. Anyway, back to the Grillfire. I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake entree that comes with one side. Had the fries which are seasoned with what looks and tastes like parmesan, truffle oil (maybe), and some fresh herb. It was yummy and had a good "crunchy outside, soft inside" balance. The two crab cakes were not THAT jumbo. They were regular sized. But not big enough to fill out a bun, if you were say making a crab cake burger. But still very tasty. Not heavily breaded...in fact, I didn't even notice any breading. Very meaty. Oh but the hit of the night was their Pink Mojito! Idk what's in it that made it so DELISH but I'm a Miami girl and I have to try the mojito wherever I go. This was one of my faves..ever! It wants to be almost too sweet but then something reigns it in. Can't explain it. Lots of character and they were generous with the mint leaves...i like that. Second drink was much stronger but I wouldn't mind having this drink, virgin. It's that good. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Yummy crab cakes. read more

We recently stayed at The Hotel at Arundel Preserve ( it's really called The Hotel) and ate at Grill Fire. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is great. We had the grilled buffalo wings and they were smoky and spicy. The wedge salad and burger were both really good too. We also ordered breakfast the next day and it was great. There is a good beer and wine selection too. Definitely recommend if you are staying at the hotel or if you are in the area. read more

We came here last night with a party of 8 to celebrate my fiance's birthday. We chose Grillfire because it was easy to get to, there's ample free parking, and it's super close to Maryland Live! Casino, which is great for after dinner. Otherwise I heard a lot of mediocre reviews and actually didn't love George Martin's other restaurant, Vivo, so I was apprehensive. Ultimately, I thought the food was surprisingly good! They start by bringing out bread for the table, which is sliced with melted cheese in between. Since I love pretty much cheese anything I really enjoyed this.... actually, it seemed like we all did. We didn't order any apps, but a lot of people ordered the starter caesar salad. Know this: it comes with ground up pieces of anchovy. If you aren't into a caesar salad heavy on the fish then you may want to think twice before ordering. And then the entree.... I bucked the trend. It's a very meat heavy restaurant. There are many different cuts of steak and I tried a bite of someone's bison short rib, which was flavorful (though maybe a bit chewy). But, surprisingly, both my fiance and I opted for pasta dishes. He ordered the "Over the Top Mac and Cheese", which comes with bacon, crab, tortilla strips, and avocado (it also usually comes with sour cream but he asked them to hold on that). He LOVED it and said there was a ton of lump crab meat. And I think he ordered it right.... I'm not sure that such a heavy and creamy dish really needed the sour cream, as well. It's almost like how many creamy, high calorie components can they include in one dish? I, on the other hand, ordered the fettuccine which came in a sauce made with light chardonnay, asiago and tomato cream. It also comes with scallops and shrimp mixed in, though I asked for all shrimp. It was pretty awesome. The best pasta dish of my life? No, not at all. But it was creamy and cheesy and had a kick of spice, and the shrimp was really well cooked. I enjoyed it quite a lot. And it's funny that I liked this so much when I didn't like Martin's Italian restaurant nearly as much. It's probably a dish that gets overlooked on the menu because the restaurant is so meat and potato heavy, but give this some consideration! I also ordered a pretty awesome drink, the black cherry whiskey sour. It's exactly what the name would suggest - black cherry flavored whiskey, sour mix and a cherry. If you like whiskey you can't really go wrong with this... it's sweet and sour and strong. My sister ordered the sunshine squeeze at the recommendation of the waiter, which is made with Bacardi dragon berry rum, agave and lemon. And it was SO SOUR it was almost undrinkable. It was like a liquified warhead and my sister in her mid-20's got heartburn almost immediately. Yikes. Speaking of the waiter... there is room for improvement. He was clearly not happy to be working and wasn't even particularly nice. He wasn't able to read the table so he interjected in our conversations to try to take our order when it was obvious that we weren't ready. He asked if we wanted dessert and then when a couple of us said no thanks and a few others were still deciding he seemed to have gotten fed up and walked away. He did bring out a free birthday dessert to my fiance (a brownie sundae with a candle in it) but he walked right behind him so my fiance didn't even see what was happening and it was super awkward. He didn't even sing happy birthday and everyone at the table just kind of looked around at each other to decide what to do next. Overall the waiter was just on the rude side. The brownie sundae was good, though nothing special. And every meal is concluded with a big ol thing of pink cotton candy for the table, which is cool. (I didn't get to take a photo of that but it looks like lots of other people did!) Also the check included automatic gratuity and there was a separate gratuity for food and then alcohol. Below that they put the tax, and then they include the service charge, which is just the food and alcohol gratuity added together. A little clarification there would have been nice. Be warned, or you could easily accidentally overpay. Come here for the food - nothing to knock your socks off, but a good, dependable, hearty meal near the casino. And come for complimentary cotton candy! I don't think this is a place that is known for good customer service, though. read more

Wow...consistency is not happening here. It's great one time, next time horrible, great again...then not so great. I have been here many times as I love (and stay at) "The Hotel" which is right next to it! Sooo Convenient! Grillfire has a very nice " happy hour" . (That does make me happy!) You have to sit in the bar area to get it. The happy hour sliders (2 for $5.) are delicious and come out nice and hot! The happy hour house wine is also very good ($5) and comes in a nice big wine goblet (perfect!). Unfortunately, tonight I pulled out a piece of sharp plastic from my mouth as I was eating my salad. The waitress quickly brought the manager over who knew exactly what the plastic was as she said this happened quite a bit. It was from the salad tongs! She offered another salad but I was winding down with the one I had and I guess I was kinda happy not to finish the rest. So, when the waitress brought my check...she said they gave me my one glass of wine ($5) for free. I thought they needed to take my $12 salad off the bill...not the wine. I kinda hurt my tooth on the plastic. Boo hoo...waitress forgot to offer me the coton candy! I had to ask for it. I will be back in the future but I need time to forget this mishap so it will be a while. read more

I rarely do this, but I must stand corrected on my previous score. Saturday night is always tricky when it comes to dining plans bc of the Casino crowds. This was one of the only restaurants that wasn't crowded. I'm thinking were in luck, but my date and I left super disappointed. For starters there was nobody bussing the tables leaving my party of two standing up waiting to be seated not bc it was packed but bc nobody was doing that job. Once we sat, out waiter was nice but slacking. We got our salads and proceeded to stare at them long enough for him to ask "Oh where is your silverware?" Hm good question we were trying to figure out the same thing since there wasn't any when we sat down! Once our entree's arrived we were over a lot of things, but decided to be good sports and dive in. My skirt steak was cold and the sauce was not the worst or best. My sides (mash potatoes/crispy onions) were good. My date liked his Baby Back ribs but mentioned he thought they were pretty mediocre. I can tell that this place probally struggles to get packed because for the price of the menu options, it's super mediocre. You can't have that issue and also pair it up with average service. If they weren't attached to the hotel I'll dare say this place wouldnt stay so afloat. Fix the management/service issues and maybe we'll come back but for now, we shall stay away. Two stars for the variety of the menu and the atmosphere. read more

This might be my new favorite spot. My fiancé and I went here on a whim and made the right call. The environment was warm and welcoming. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we found the right place. We ordered our drinks based on the waitress's recommendation and SHE WAS RIGHT ON THE MONEY. The drinks were refreshing. The food, "Yea Buddy"! I ordered the meat loaf. The whole dish was incredible. The meat wasn't dry and it was seasoned to perfection. The mashed potatoes were moist and didn't taste like the fake mashed potatoes that come as pellets. To finish off the meal, they serve cotton candy. If I was a cotton candy eater, I would have been in heaven. Besides, the cotton candy was FREE. The service was awesome. I couldn't ask for me. This place was so good, I bragged about it at work and now my coworkers are coming back to me in appreciation. We all like this place. *FOR THE GUYS: Take your lady here and sparks might fly. I've visited this venue twice. The ambiance is very laid back. The service is ehh alright. The first time I went the waitress wss very attentive to our table. The second go round the waiter seemed less than interested to assist. The actual bar attendant who was assisting my waiter seemed more engaged in providing excellent customer service. I would suggest giving Grillfire a few weeks to get settled. Perhaps it will be a great place to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox. For now, this beautifully decorated site is still training staff at the customers' expense. There is great potential here but for now, it remains potential. Know that not all items on the online menu for brunch are currently being prepared nor offered on the printed menu given to patrons. Service can be spotty depending on your server being a seasoned worker or a newbie. The kitchen staff needs to coordinate better to produce a plate of food evenly heated and to assure that all diners in your party are served at somewhat the same time. The chef needs time to get control of the staff. These comments are based on a brunch service for a party of six. I'll try them again...next season. read more

Looking for a late dinner I chose this restaurant because it was at the hotel I was staying at. It was not busy at all for a Friday night so there was no wait at all. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and the service was quick. The atmosphere is more casual than I thought it would be so I felt slightly overdressed but it could have just been because it was a chill night. For my meal I ordered the steak and crab cake with loaded mashed potatoes. The food was just okay to me. My steak I asked for medium but it was definitely well WELL done. The crabcake was good. I tend to favor lump crabmeat for my crabcakes but this was not. Either way it was still relatively good. The mashed potatoes were decent as well. Though the food was mediocre the cocktails were delicious and to end the night you are served cotton candy which is always a plus. All in all this place was ok. Totally underwhelming place. I went for lunch with a friend, and she said she had a great tuna wrap. So I ordered one with her. We had to send the first one back since the tuna was COMPLETELY cooked! Ummm...we asked for rare in the middle. Then we waited for the new wrap to come out, and it was the same problem. At that point, it was no use to ask for another one. Recently I ordered the pork barbecue sandwich, and it had a few globs of fat and/or gristle mixed in with the meat inside the sandwich. The gristle made the sandwich so unappetizing I couldn't finish it. The meat flavoring or sauce wasn't very good, either. All in all, the sandwich did not compare favorably with the same sandwich I had had at Rams Head not long ago. read more

Came here for 10 year anniversary dinner and what a great meal. I had the skirt steak, creamed spinach, and BLT salad which was all very tasty. I would definitely order that meal again. Wife had shrimp/ scallop linguine and she really enjoyed it. Portion sizes were very large. Service was very attentive and they even gave us free champagne as a nice gesture. Atmosphere was casual elegant and a very hip place for happy hour. Overall very good experience and would come back again soon. read more

George Martin's Grillfire was Plan B for a dinner with my brother and my cousin's family (Vivo next door was closed). We sat down for dinner around 7 PM and left around 10 or 10:30 PM. Even with a 9 month old in tow, our server was extremely kind and attentive to us, stopping by our table a few minutes after we ordered something new or another round of drinks. I ordered the Sunday three-course dinner (appetizer/salad, entree and dessert). The beet and bleu salad was dressed well, came with sugar beets as well as regular beets, and topped with walnuts. I usually hate bleu cheese but this salad was tolerable and the bleu cheese was kept to a nice minimum. To share, my whole table split a dish of stir-fried brussels sprouts. These were a nice appetizer but would've tasted better as a side, as they were a little on the salty side. Next I ordered a half rack of ribs (hey, it's a grill and bar) Though I may be small, my appetite can sometimes be mighty. I finished virtually everything on my plate and everything tasted fine but nothing stellar. The ribs were moist and tender but most likely cooked the day before and reheated. They lacked the fire/char-grilled taste that I was hoping for. I finished my meal with the chocolate torte (flour-less chocolate fudgey cake) served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. This place isn't known for their dessert, so stick to the meats n sides. I also sipped on one Jameson and ginger, which tasted a little watered down as soon as it arrived at my table. It's not that the ice melted prior to making it to my table, but maybe the bottle of Jame had been sitting out for a bit. Protip: nearby residents of the Palisades receive 15 or 20% off with presentation of their residential card or proof of residence. George Martin's Grillfire is a decent restaurant to visit if you wish to catch up with friends over a few drinks but do not expect anything out of this world with the food. read more

Grillfire is a warm, comfortable place. I sat at the bar so I can't comment on table service, but I experienced good service all around. I had the Horseradish, Bacon & Cheddar Crusted Sirloin Meatloaf which was delicious, if not outstanding; truly comfort food which seems to be the best way to describe their food. Grillfire is located in a "town center ", which seems to be a growing trend in the area ( newly built center comprised of shops, restaurants and condos). This set up makes parking tough, but I lucked out with a spot out front. Parking aside, this would be a good choice if your in the area as there aren't many solid dining spots in the Arundel mall area. read more

Not what it used to be. Was a go to place for lunch. But the rules have changed. You used to be able to ADD a wedge salad for $5. Now you can only substitute a Caesar salad for an extra $6. And the burger is a shadow of what it was - they are also deeply confused as to the difference between medium rare and well done. Very disappointed and sad that a good place is gone. read more

Went in during happy hour to try a new place ... Really nice happy hour selection. I sat at the bar and was greeted in a timely manner by the bartender who had a full section, so that was nice. He took our order and brought our drinks, everything went smoothly... I ordered the mestique chicken wings and chili shrimp and a vodka and lemonade...shrimp was awesome, chicken was awesome too but a little salty and my drink was pretty good for the price. I will definitely go again to try new things. Cozy environment too! Not a lot of parking, mostly for residents.... read more

I've been here several times. I loved to bring visitors from out of town. Owners decorate fabulous during holidays. Dinner is always amazing. Short ribs are my favorites. I was going to go there tonight. Meet a friend there for happy hour then have dinner right after. The bartender was a total b@!!! I sat at a table that was empty but I guess it wasn't clean. She approached after I had been sitting for a while but I didn't mind because I was waiting on a friend. So she said 'that table is dirty' and sprayed the entire table then wiped it up. Here's a little etiquette tip: if someone is already sitting at the table spray the cloth first, then wipe. Ugh. Anyway, she all but tossed the menus at me. At that point, I just got up and drive across the street to the Red Parrot. The end. Probably won't be back to Grillfire. read more
