She treated me, my mother, and my fiancee with respect, got me what I wanted and give me a great deal. Went back two weeks later and my post is already deleted! What BS! Not to mention all 4 of the crappy reviews on here are more then a year old. For those that of you that are skeptical go there and see how you are treated without buying anything. I would HIGHLY doubt you would rate it a 1star as of 4/2/2012. Ill be there again tomorrow to pickup a ring that's been soldered. SHAME ON YOU YELP. Not often do I write reviews - and only do so when I am extremely impressed - negatively or positively. I am the founder and CEO of a children's charity and was recently given some gold donated by a woman for the charity. I decided to educate myself about the gold selling business that has been so heavily advertised in the newspapers and sell the gold for the best possible price I could get to help the charity. With tablet and pen in hand, I went to 5 gold dealers that advertised "Will by Gold" in Ventura county. I explained what I was doing and asked many questions. After 5 dealers, I settled with George Thompson Diamonds in Camarillo. I was appalled by the wheeling and dealing by the other 4 dealers. I was quoted anywhere from $50.00 with $150.00 being the highest quote. I thanked them for their time and left. I felt cheated and felt they were dishonest from the get go and took advantage of people who brought in their gold. George Thompson was over 5 times higher than the other 4 dealers. We didn't wheel and deal...George Thompson took a look at what I had, gave it to his appraiser and said he would get back with me the following day. I expect dealers to make a profit. I do not expect to be taken advantage of. I walked out of George Thompson's Diamonds feeling that I received a very fair price and would, without a doubt, continue to do business with George Thompson. read more

I bought a wedding set from this jewelry store 10 years ago and two years ago traded it for a different set. I have always taken my ring in and had it cleaned an inspected every 6 moths to a year consistently. I took my ring in Monday and was told the band is cracked and I am missing a diamond. But there was no way that the ring could be fixed for a month or longer. I can't wear the ring... so I brought the ring home and upon closer inspection the band is cracked in two place and is VERY noticeable and has several loose diamonds. The ring was inspected by a jeweler at this store on Monday . On contacting the store I was told I could bring it back down ( I live 4 hours away) and they would see if they could get a jeweler to look at it which again was done on Monday. I explained that I made a special trip down on Monday and cannot return for a couple of weeks, they suggested I mail it to them insured and they would see what they can do and return it to me by mail. I am very disappointed, as I was there and they are only now trying to make it right. Not to mention, after two years the ring is cracked in two places. I am very careful and don't wear it to bed or if I am doing anything strenuous. I have also now read there warranty and find it to be useless nothing is covered unless you can prove that it was workmanship, think twice before buying here. read more

This guy is a joke and Sue is just as bad. They were extremely rude and honestly their jewelry is shit and poorly made. I bought my wife a ring and it was exactly what she wanted . A very thin delicate band with diamonds encompassing a 1 carrot center cut. Within the first Month we had 2 diamonds fall out of the band. I went to them and they replaced them for free. Within the first year we had 5 more diamonds fall out and the center cut was on the verge of falling out as well. We went back in and expressed how unhappy we were. At this point George stepped and said he would replace the ring for free and that we wouldn't be able to tell the difference. That wasn't the case at all. After about a month we received a ring back that looked nothing like the original ring we bought. They gave my wife options for other rings but said she would not like what they had because they stopped making her original ring due to the amount of similar complaints they received. My wife's last encounter with them was terrible, probably because I was not with her. Both George and Sue were rude. They mocked her, insulted her and ultimately made pay more money to get a ring that she "liked" when this was all ultimately due to a crap ring he made. Don't go here! I recently had my wedding and 10 year anniversary ring redone for out 25th Anniversary. The work that George Thompson did was AMAZING!!!! Every time I go in to the store George comes right over and greets us, asks us how our family is and catches up with us. It feels like we're going to see family now after so many years. I purchased a very expensive Diamond ring seven years ago for my wife from George Thompson. I never had the ring serviced like I should have. My wife is tough on rings as she spends a lot of time outdoors and does lots of gardening. One of the setting broke and she lost a Diamond. I brought the ring in and the staff was very attentive. Robert assisted with cleaning it. Connie helps locate a replacement Diamond. George even got involved and felt bad for what had happened even though he had no responsibilty for the loss of the Diamond. He was so kind and after Connie calculated the cost of the repair and replacement of the Diamond, George decided to reduce the cost by 50%. Then he was so gracious after I paid for the repair to be done, he decided to rebuilt all the setting on all there stones and add additional pronges at no addiitonal cost. This past weekend I took my 2 daughters into George Thompson Jewelers to get advice on making 2 rings from one family heirloom. The help we got was amazing. Not only did Mr. Thompson help us personally but his staff was super too. He explained to us that the ring was 100 yrs old. (It was my grandmothers) He showed us the diamonds in the ring were European cut. (all new information). He helped my girls decide how to split the diamonds in the ring. He showed how they could make 2 rings while saving the main setting of the old ring. annnddd the money we ended up spending was right in our ballpark. My Grandma ,Parents and I have all been faithful customers to George for the better part of 20 years and have NEVER experienced anything other than great service and prices.
