When you make a purchase online, then walk in the store to purchase insurance for the same item.... it takes at least forty-five minutes to link online transaction of purchased item with in store purchase insurance each time you need to clean ring. Representatives have poor costumer service and computer system is unable to link/ synchronize transactions given insurance was purchased for that same item purchased online. Do Not go there! I warned you... Staff very very rude! I ordered online to be picked up at the store. I got Email notification that my item was ready for pick up and that I should go pick it up right away. Drove for about 45 minutes to pick up item just to find it that they shipped it out and when I asked why did they do that they said it's not their problem, it's a computer error from the corporate office and I should call the main store online to complain! Which i did and no one ever picked up the phone or returned my call! When I got to the store, I was standing there for 10 minutes until somebody acknowledge that I was at the store and I will get somebody to help me, and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for one of the staff to come. Just to Tell me that my box was shipped out, they were very rude about it and very disrespectful to me and my daughter ! This is not the first time I ordered gold from this company but it will be the last time for sure!!! Just so you know, through the whole thing i was very polite and never disrespected anyone. Kay Jewelers uses false advertising and misrepresents what they sell you. I bought an opal engagement ring for my fiance that is supposed to be authentic and natural from Ethiopia. Now, less than a year later, it's lost its shine and color, it looks like slightly yellow glass. They claim that it's real, but I've spoken with multiple other jewelers for opinions from a third party and they've all stated that this wouldn't have happened to an authentic opal. I don't know what stone they sold to us but it's not an opal. The Kay stores we've gone to just say we must have exposed it to some chemical (which we didn't). On top of that, the other jewelers we spoke to specifically, and unprompted, told us that the only thing opal would be sensitive to is collision damage and that it wouldn't matter if we'd exposed it to something else. The bottom line is that Kay Jewelers takes part in anticonsumer practices and your money would be best spent at an independent jeweler instead of at some corporate chain. read more

I went in there to utilize the warranty I had on my chain only to find out there was a loop hole, and the warranty was only for the diamonds on my pendant not the chain. My initial interaction with a junior sales associate was frustrating, and very impersonal. Just as I was about to leave unhappy, I decided to give them another opportunity to make this right. I politely explained my situation and pleaded for advice on how to resolve. Noi was so understanding and actually spoke to me as a person and not just as someone who wouldn't count as a new sale. The way she personalized my experience and assisted me in a resolution is exactly how anyone would wish to be treated. These five stars are only for the representative Archie. He was the best! My boyfriend and I entered this store. The person in the entrance did not greet us, he had an unfriendly look. We passed by two other sales representatives and not one looked up to assist us. Archie came running out from the back when he saw us. My boyfriend was going to make an expensive purchase. Archie knew exactly how to guide us. His expertise, professionalism and friendly personality made the purchase worth while. During our interaction with Archie we noticed the rest of the staff had very serious attitudes and nobody was smiling. It was depressing. Archie is the shining star for sure! My fiancé and I picked out my ring here in August. Since then we've been in about four times. I decided to get the ring sized smaller and then we were looking to exchange my band for a different one. By the fourth visit we had worked with almost all the employees and the manager and they knew us by name. So when we signed to get the ring sized smaller the employee put my name down so I could pick it up when it came in even though the purchase was under my fiancé's name. Fast forward to a month later. My fiancé gets the call that my ring is ready for pickup. I'm so excited. My future stepdaughter was working on her homework at 330pm and my fiancé was helping her. He had to go into work for his graveyard shift at 11:00pm so he needed to go to sleep soon. I decided to go pick up the ring in my own since the lady specifically put my name down and told me i could when we ordered the resizing. We live in Santa Paula, so I drive 35 minutes there and the employee says my name isn't on the pickup list. Literally all the employees there and the manager had worked with my fiancé and I four times in the past three months and knew us by name. I give them all my fiancé's info tell them they DID put my name down and they still REFUSED to give me my engagement ring. It was so embarrassing and frustrating. I had to drive all the way back to Santa Paula to get my fiancé who was already in bed at 5:30pm for his graveyard shift at 11:00pm. We return to Camarillo (now there's traffic) 45 minutes later. My fiancé and I walk in and the employee has the nerve to say "oh you were just here" I said "Yes I was and they didn't give me my ring so I brought my fiancé back" Him "Well your name wasn't on the pickup" Me "I know but when we came in to get it resized the employee put my name down. That's not my fault" Him "well it was a new employee and you should have checked the receipt to make sure your name was on it." At that point I lost it and said "no that's not my fault or responsibility. YOUR employee should know to check for my name and YOU should make sure the employees are properly trained. That's not MY responsibility as a customer." He stopped talking and gave me the ring since my fiancé was there and We left. My fiancé didn't get to bed until 7:00 and had to be up three hours later for work all because this location didn't properly train their employee and decided not to remember me after I had visited there too often to check out other bands. Took my Burberry watch in for battery replacement, and instead of simply stating they are not equipped to work on Swiss watches, they attempted to do so and caused the three small hands of the chronograph to come undone. The employee then said he didn't know why that happened, but that he was not responsible because he did not work on the front of the watch. Instead of simply taking responsibility for what had happened, the employee repeatedly denied having caused the problem and was very dismissive. He offered a refund, on the condition that he would open up the watch again and remove the new battery - unbelievable. Knowing the young man might break or knock loose something else, I left the store without getting refunded. I later paid a smart repair shop another $30 to replace the chronograph hands and check for other damages. Do not take your watch to this shop, and frankly based on the employee's attitude, I wouldn't take any jewelry to them for repairs either. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Ordered our wedding bands here. The lady encouraged us to do separate orders since I wanted to pay for hers separate. When I came in to pay and pick it up, they refused to let me because the lady put it under my fiancé name even though I signed and it had my credit card receipt on it. After going to pick up my band after sizing and pick up her ring, we decided to cancel her ring after finding out they didn't give accurate information on their coverage plan and soldering information. I was helped by one of the young ladies with reddish/orange hair. She used a lot of profanity (she dropped the F bomb countless times which made me feel very uncomfortable). Luckily I already knew what I wanted and picked out my husbands ring. She was certain that I would receive it in 3 business days, she also stated that she would keep in contact with me via cell, email or text - I never heard from her. I called after the 3rd day which she stated that the wrong ring was shipped and that I had to wait 5 additional days (pls keep in mind it was the end of day she wouldn't have told me if I wouldn't have called) so 5 days go by no call, text or email. I call them again (end of day) she stated that once again they shipped the wrong ring. Her excuse for not calling me was because she misplaced my phone number (I have a profile with Kay which has my cell,my email and my mother in laws info) she also assured me that even if the ring size is too big she would be able to resize it for free. So after the unprofessionalism and lack of communication I decided to get my money back and go to a different location. The new location stated that she lied about resizing my husbands ring because Kay does not resize tungsten rings. She only wanted the commission which is why my ring never arrived. This place really bummed me out and was extremely disappointing I came in with a diamond ring that I purchased for my girlfriend I bought it from George Thompson that guy really knows how to treat his customers and he just has a warming wonderful personality I loved dealing with that location however the selection in which the style I was looking for was just slim at the time so I purchased a ring but I had a week to return if I found something that I like better and I found something better at Kay ruler I showed the lady the ring I had I informed her that I like the ring better she has and I would come back for it after I returned the ring I purchased from George Thompson she said what I like to put some money down I said no thank you she then repeat it will somebody may purchase and she can't hold it I said that's OK I have the ring I currently have which is fine then she followed it with well if you put $50 down I can reserve it I said no thank you I'm OK with what I have and she repeated again to get me to put money down the tactics in which they used to scare you that the ring is going to be sold which is quite possible is veryVery unfavorable and just unattractive completely unnecessary explain it to me once clearly is fine to repeatedly keep trying and trying is disgusting I have a ring in my possession already that I'm OK with their ring was just nicer so I was destined to return the ring to George Thompson and purchase this one from Kay jewelers but the attitude sucks so bad I made it clear to her that I'm OK and then she just became snoot and upset with me I can tell her actions and her tone that she was frustrated and it was totally unnecessary I just won't return simple that's how much they suck read more

They are horrible!!! There were so many miscommunications and misunderstandings on their behalf!! I could barely understood most of the staff and they ran our credit twice while assuring us they were not. They split my purchase on two accounts instead of one, misquoted my monthly payment and interest free account status. Then sent the engagement ring for sizing and it came back scratched and a different color gold than the original ring (omg). They had to send it back again and all they could say is sorry when our engagement party is today and we had to rush to get it!! I'm so disappointed in everything about this store! I spoke with a rep at corporate for 25 minutes to place a complaint for all the inconvenience and unprofessionalism and was assured they would compensate me $100 off my purchase, lol!!
