We were in St. George for the weekend and were looking for a restaurant that was open after 9 PM on a Saturday night...we found George's Corner! An open dining area which felt like we were in a enormous cabin. Dark brown wood everywhere and throughout the dining tables as well. We walked in without a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes during a busy Friday night. Sarah was our server and she was super nice and helpful with beer selections and menu suggestions. Build your own grilled cheese: I loved this concept! Start with your basic grilled cheese sandwich and build it like you would a pizza. I added ham and mushrooms and it was tasty. Fresh ingredients and grilled perfectly. The skinny fries were crispy and their fry sauce is bomb: ketchup + mayo + siracha. Perfect blend of all 3 to enhance your fries experience. My boys enjoyed their lamb burger, fish and rings and chicken wings. George's Corner provides a nice casual late dining option if you're in the St. George area. I got George's to go which was really quick and easy. The inside looks welcoming and had a lot of space. The fish tacos were a little too fishy for my liking but the side salad was so delicious!! I actually wish I got the house salad as a full meal. The cilantro pesto quesadilla with shrimp was so good. Lastly the Caesar salad with good, I wish I did not get the chicken. Service was ok. But as a single female they literally stuck me in a corner. Ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with Cole slaw and smashed potatoes. Potatoes were cold. Cole slaw tasteless. Fried chicken came out in 5 pieces but the only one that looked like a piece of chicken was the leg. Chicken was extremely greasy and not crispy. Would not recommend this place. read more

Stopped in yesterday after a local suggested George's, really glad I did! Amy was my server/ bartender and even though I didn't have any alcoholic beverages, she suggested the salmon slider as an appetizer. While this normally would sound good to me, it probably wouldn't sway me enough to stray away from my usual fried zucchini or something similar. I'm SO GLAD Amy convinced me to try this - it packed a serious punch with flavor and spice, it absolutely fantastic and I would definitely order again! For my main course, I chose the fish n chips which were breaded and fried perfectly. The made-in-house tartar sauce was good enough to turn me into a believer of tartar sauce (normally I just use vinegar and lemon) - I just couldn't pass it up. Lastly, Amy gave some local suggestions of State Parks and attractions to visit before I head to my next adventure. I went to ALL of them once I left. It meant a lot that she not only cared about my restaurant experience, but also my stay in Utah. I would not hesitate to visit George's Corner again if I was back in town. We stopped here for breakfast about 10am on a Monday. It is located in a small shopping area in downtown St. George. There is some street parking and they have a small parking lot. We found a spot easily in the lot and went in the upper entrance. We saw a lower entrance but we did not go downstairs. We learned George's has a long history in St. George dating to the 1930's. There is a patio area and we were greeted immediately and walked to a table and provided menus. My wife thought they offered both breakfast and lunch options in the morning which is something we look for since I am not as much of a breakfast fan as she is. The menu is fairly small and simple and my wife chose the Dixie Cheese Steak Omelet with sliced tomatoes instead of potatoes and I chose the Breakfast Burrito. Our server was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked good. We both thought our breakfast was good but not mind blowing. We only waited 5 min to be seated at 6pm on a Wednesday night. Our server was so nice and attentive. It was lovely interacting with her. We enjoyed the cheesesteak sandwich with fries and the strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert. Everything was good but not amazing which is why we deducted a point. Grabbed dinner to go here after a day in the mountains. And George's knocked it out of the park. Even though it was busy -- 30 minute wait for a table -- the staff was pleasant and helped us find suitable options for our gluten free requirements. And our dinners were ready in 10 minutes. I picked the veggie burger in a lettuce wrap with a side salad. The burger was really tasty and the salad was fresh and delicious. We arrived at 11 am on a Sunday and there was a 20 minute wait and they texted us when the table was ready so we could walk around and check out the local sights. The menus had a lot of options and is gluten and vegan friendly. There are a lot of pictures of St. George's history which made it fun to look around the place. The food was tasty and the order was correct when it came to the table. Two of our group had steak breakfast when the stake was cooked to order, it is amazing how many places cannot cook a steak. read more

Well, well, well. A new place in St. George to put on the must stop list. I randomly found this place on yelp when our usual place was closed. We loved everything about it. We ate on the lovely patio. The staff were so friendly and kind. Remember I am always on the hunt for two things, biscuits and gravy and eggs benny. And they have a breakfast combo where I could order both! The eggs benedict had the perfect Hollandaise and was divine. Biscuits and gravy a solid effort. Others ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the Fat and Fluffy French toast, and the smoked salmon benedict. George's Corner is a fun stop when visiting St. George! It has a touristy ambiance, touting a lot of town history both in the decor and on the menu. Service is very friendly and quick. The food isn't anything fancy, but it's solid American cuisine. We ordered the cheeseburger and the turkey club. My absolute favorite part of the meal was the onion rings--cooked perfectly and the onion didn't slide out of the breading when you bit into it! The house sauce served with both was also very tasty! We ordered the Gimlet and the Spicy Jalapeño Margarita (waitress recommended) for drinks. The Gimlet was pretty "meh". It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The margarita was delicious with the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. Popped in for lunch on our day trip to Snow Canyon. Happily, surprised to find out George's Corner is dog friendly. The patio is enclosed and has heaters too. Our server was friendly and full of energy. She brought out a bowl of water for our golden retriever. The menu shows they have gluten free bread. Unfortunately, not gluten free burger buns. Odd. Another table was equally excited about the gluten free bread option. In turn, equally disappointed they did not have gluten free burger buns though. Ordered the buttermilk fried chicken & a burger. The fried chicken wasn't the crispy kind where you bite in where you hear & feel the crunch. This was more of a wet fried chicken. The chicken was okay. Disappointed in the 'fried' chicken skin. That's one of my favorites of the meal. The shoestring fries were tasty. The burger was also okay. Food was subpar. But the burgers, fries & shakes are where it's at at George's Corner. It's a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. My order was the house nachos, and it was pretty good, although not really up to Mexican restaurant standards. But the nachos were light, satisfying and very tasty. Our server was friendly, outgoing and very efficient. Nachos require beer as everyone knows, and I chose the only Pilsener on tap. My mother-in-law is fried pickle connoisseur, and she says that the ones here were a 9/10. If they had been crispier, they would've gotten a 10/10. I had the fish sandwich and it was amazing. Might be my favorite tartar sauce I've ever had. The turkey club also had really good flavor with a really good texture combination with the different foods. Typically when my boyfriend and I go on a road trip, we only choose one place to eat out for the week, and we like to support local restaurants. We decided to try out George's Corner and we are so glad we did! Walking in, we instantly were impressed as Georges corner has a lot of character and charm. We were greeted right away but the host and she was super nice and accommodating. We got a table right away, and our service was awesome. We had Brooke as our waitress and she was wonderful. Very attentive, gave us some info on st George, and was personable and pleasant to be around. Our food came out promptly and was hot and ready. We ordered two iced lattes which were delicious. For lunch, we had a pulled pork sandwich, a build your own grilled cheese with roasted pepper and avocado, two house salads, and onion rings. Everything was so delicious and filling. The salad was very refreshing and came with pecans and fresh pear slices which was not expected but definitely tasty. House salads can be boring but this one became the favorite part of our meal. Kinda silly to mention, but the bathrooms were so cute. They are clean. Bathrooms are usually forgotten but they did a great job tying the theme of the restaurant all the way through and into the bathroom which made it feel comfortable. Overall we are so happy that our one local meal this trip was George's corner! The only con we noticed was the parking was tight, but just goes to show they are busy and worth it! read more
