I wish I could give less than 1 star! They quoted me one price called me back gave me a different price then called me back again and gave me a different price I told them I wanted to get other quotes. I wasn't happy with them and then George got on the phone and was completely rude and disrespectful. This company's name is George's "friendly" auto service. I don't see how George is friendly. Do not trust this place to give you a good quote. They also damaged my radiator on purpose bc I told them not to touch my car and i was taking it to another mechanic. Went to Lincoln Automotive and they were friendly and took care of my vehicle and he damage George's auto did. Stay far away from this place! Had multiple good experiences here after getting disappointed by a few highly rated places in Roseville. Brother-in-law has had his old clunker worked on a few times for cheap here, so that's where I heard of George's place. When the AC in my honda starting blowing warm air, I called these guys up. They had me in right away and recharged my air conditioner in about an hour. Cost me $70. They have a small and quiet waiting room with wifi right next to the shop too. read more

Very dishonest place who will try to take advantage of people. I had an A/C problem and needed my vehicle looked at. They originally charged 65$ to look into it which is typical and I expected. However, what I didn't expect is that they determined it wasn't the freon and now wanted another 80$ to look into the A/C unit itself. I reluctantly accepted, thinking that the service fee would be included into the bill as most places would do. Turns out that the compressor was bad and they wanted an additional $875 to fix it... A simple Google search shows the part at most costing $300. How does Labor cost $500+ $130 for the original diagnosis? read more

Was stranded in a business center in Roseville tonight. Suddenly, a white truck pulled up and the driver asked if I needed help. Turned out it was the service manager at George's. Honest service! We are new to the area and we had a fuel leak. After picking up our car they called within hours to share the bad news. But, they pointed out my car was covered under a manufacture recall and helped me get the car to the dealer for service. They very well could have charged me for the repair because we didn't live in the country the year the recall posted and knew no better. I have had my oil changed here since and they are always friendly and honest. Need more auto shops like this. read more

If they spot additional trouble you can trust that their recommendation that a fix should be immediate accurate. If it is okay to postpone the repair, you will get a concise, realistic explanation of future timing and expected cost. As a newbie to Lincoln, I did not know where to take my 1968 Ranchero when it failed to start. It had only 34,000 miles on a factory rebuilt engine, installed by a Ford dealer mechanic, and it had been running well. It had been running well as I hauled various items from the Bay area to Lincoln, then it stopped. AAA towed it to Friendly Georges. After 2 days, and $230 billed,theys called to tell me there was a gas leak under the carbeurator and it needed further work. Estimate was about $130 more for that and some other thing. They had only replaced the condensor associated with the distributor. The story did not sound right to me. As a young man I worked on my own cars to the extent of tuneups and minor repairs. I explained there was something on the ignition side that was not right. Being old and partly disabled, I can not fix it myself, but I still know a lot about old cars. I picked up the car and it was missing so bad it would hardly run. I called a friend who has built funny cars back in the day. He and I looked at the engine the next day. Removing the distributor cap, we discovered the points were totally white with ash. Obviously burnt. Changing the points made the car fun, but still a little rough. It was the vacuum pum that needed replacment. My friend did it and it took about 20 minutes plus time to buy the pump. There was no gas leak, but a recent hard rain had left water in the valley between the heads. There was a leak, but not there, it was where the gas fill tube fits to the gas tank at the other end of the car. I wrote friendly George a letter and explained what we found and how I was totally unhappy and knew that Michael, the mechanic who worked on my car was too young to know how to work on cars with an old fashioned distributor. I thought he should adjust my bill due to errors by his mechanic. I never heard from friendly George, and would never return there and have made it clear to my older friends here about bad work at an inflated price. Sam G read more

We usually take our autos here for most repairs. They seem to be honest and will give us various options after a diagnosis. I've never had to take my vehicle back to them after a repair, they get it done right which is why we go back. They work well with insurance companies too. read more

They Charged me $44 dollars to tell me I needed a new Battery. Seriously, they couldn't of just told me "Hey you need a new battery." Nope. Now I have to spend another $102.00 for a new battery AND THEN Still get my vehicle repaired for more money. $44 is a lot of money nowadays and Mr. Friendly George Isn't seeing anymore of my money. read more

This is the most honest auto repair shop I have ever been to. Everyone there was polite and professional. Rush got back to me quick regarding the status of my car and had the work done as promised. They even had someone ( Austin,very nice guy) come pick me up when the car was ready. I highly recommend them if you need a mechanic. read more

I brought in a 1973 Ford F250 that was running rough and needed brakes. I asked them for an estimate for those two things and also estimates to fix an exhaust hanger, install a steering stabilizer, and change out the thermostat. I had an awful time trying to communicate with George and Mike... they weren't clear about what they estimated, although they were clear on the price: $590 to "get 'er running' and $1200 to do the brakes. I could not get them to tell me if the brakes had a leak, were below minimum thickness for machining them... they only suggested complete replacement. They couldn't justify the price of the parts or labor on any of the work other than to say their shop rate was $115/hour. Hell, the Mercedes dealer charges $120/hour. 40 days later, I paid for the carb and thermostat (so that I could drive the car away). When I inspected the brakes myself, I found that it needed $330 worth of drums and shoes. I put them in myself over the span of two hours. I would love to upload a picture of the invoice, because its a complete mess, you can't read anything on it, and it represents my experience with this shop perfectly. I don't buy any of these positive reviews, because the work done on my truck couldn't have been any easier... and all they ended up doing was a carb cleaning and thermostat swap for $590. read more

I had my vehicle diagnosed at George's Friendly Auto Service and it did not turn out well. They could not figure out the problem and wanted to change more than double what they promised to charge to diagnose the issue. They could not figure out the problem and still charged me for doing nothing. The owner was rude and unprofessional. Two different people promised me one price to diagnose my vehicle, and in the end, they could not figure it out and still charged me. read more
