I wish we found out about George's Gyros sooner! It's only a five minute drive from our home - what a gem that was found! We called at 7:30pm to place a pick up order - the individual who took our order was very friendly even though we called so late! Picked up our food, and the restaurant was nice and clean. Staff was so friendly, again - even though it was so late and they were getting ready to close. We ordered dolmas, greek fries, and the original gyros. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The gyros were packed with meat! I didn't think I'd be full, but wowww was I wrong lol. 10/10 will come back for sure! read more

The location is a little unusual and so from the outside it might not look like much, but the food and service are amazing. The pitas on the gyro are so, so fresh I have a hard time eating gyros anywhere else. The meat is perfect and the veggies perfect. Deceiving from the outside as the building looks pretty old and may make you think it's going to feel that way on the inside as well. But what a great surprise! Inside feels very modern, bright and clean. Really well laid out. Menu board is well lit, bright and easy to read. Floors, tables and counters are all very clean and nice. The staff was all friendly and helpful. Excellent choice of drinks and large food menu. Ordered the traditional gyro plate with fries. Prices were reasonable. Portion size was very good. The food was great. Pita bread was the softest I've ever had, nice. The meat was warm and plentiful and tasted fresh and good. Good amount of lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki. The fries were thick and soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Made my typical mix of spicy ketchup for the fries when having gyro, yum! Very good. They have a full bar on one side of the dining area and a tv and more seating on the other side. It's a nice comfortable layout and seating and tables are comfortable and clean. Overall George's was a great experience and a nice surprise for my first time there. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again and I highly recommend you try it. read more

Very friendly service, we ordered a regular OG gyro with fries, and a chicken wrap with fries. We also ordered a falafel app. Both gyros had perfect meat ratio, and fillings. Only drawback was the falafel was a little "wet" I prefer mine nice and crispy throughout. I will request that next time to cook a bit longer. I hate to give it one star especially since this is a local business but I also want to review it honestly. I got the Chicken platter from here and first. It was topped with onions and tomatoes that were raw. The chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. The rice also has no seasoning or flavor. The pita was also store bought and cold. Visited George's based on their reviews and wanted to eat something different. I had the original Gyro with fries. Wife had a Greek salad. The gyro was well seasoned and plenty of meat but I prefer sliced tomatoes rather than cubed. Pita was nice and soft. My wife's salad had lots of feta and was actually really good (I don't like feta). The fried zucchini were made in house we enjoyed them. Then dessert we had Baklava of pistachio these good. They have other items on the menu that sound good so I'll definitely be back to start trying the rest. Also super clean and friendly. read more

Greek wings were TERRIBLE. Rubbery, flavorless. Just naked greasy undercooked wings with some feta. The Athens Stir Fry w Steak wasn't much better. Steak was small chewy pieces and of low quality, tasted weird and also greasy. Greek salad w Gyro is ok. Not really a fan of their Greek dressing (it's red and very vinegary). After standing 6ft apart in a very short line, we ordered two gyros, one with salad the other with fries and a baklava. Great prices, clean and retro looking location. Bar was closed but should open when all this stuff passes. My wife loved the Greek salad with her gyro so much, that she barely got to her gyro. The olives and cheese and dressing were perfect. Was in town from So Cal for a tournament and stumbled upon this restaurant. Was greeted by a friendly lady at the register and ordered the gyro plate. She wasn't annoyed by my very L.A. special requests (double salad, no rice, no pita bread, extra yogurt sauce; I'm eating Keto), and was very accommodating. She brought our orders to the table and everything tasted great. This is a no-nonsense, mom and pop, establishment with good food and friendly service. Third trip here and should have written a review the first time! I've had the gyro, spaghetti with meatballs and today the beef ravioli. All of them have hit the spot for me ! Having returned to the valley after 11 years, I craved one of George's Gyros. Driving in Mesa, I spotted a sign for George's Gyros and turned into the parking lot at 50 mph. At first I thought it was relocated from Scottsdale but it wasn't the same George. Having been there four times in the last three weeks, I'm a fan. While Scottsdale George has great gyros and other Mediterranean dishes, the Mesa George has other reasons to tie for my favorite Gyros EVER. Mesa George has the BEST french fries I've ever tasted! This was our second time visiting George's. The gyro I had was the original with a side of fries. The gyro was good and since we now have affairs to attend to we will likely be back more often. They do have a bar inside that I was not able to try due to local circumstances (Chinese flu). My wife had the veggie gyro. She liked hers as well. The only thing I would warn you about is the food comes out hot...... Our gyros were so hot we had to wait a bit to eat. This is obviously better than being cold but just watch that first bite. Beautiful, an oasis among acres of black top. A Greek food joint that's a welcome distraction from burgers and tacos. Service was kind, from her welcoming smile coming in from the heat to the genuine " thank you" as I left. The men in the back putting it all together were keeping there cool even during the lunchtime rush. Need I say professional? The food was fresh and not surprisingly full of flavors. We have lived near here for years and have never stopped in until recently we decided to give it a shot. The building looks odd from the street, it's not the type of location that really pulls you in but the food is great and it's authentic! We ordered a chicken pita and combo beef/sausage sandwich with a couple orders of fries. The food was very good. They definitely don't skimp you on the food, portions are very generous. Prices are very reasonable. Two meals with drinks came to about $17.50. I'm glad we stopped in to explore what they had to offer. I wish we had stopped in sooner and will do our best to visit more freuqently. It's important to support small local businesses like George's Gyros! read more
