GP, which is 45 mins away from my home, and an hour in traffic from my work, quoted me a flat rate with parts and labor included, which was $20 more than a shop in my neighborhood. The removal and install was fast, and the gentleman was very professional. My bill was actually $20 more than the flat rate quoted. Therefore, I ended up paying $40 more than I would have paid had I gone to a local shop, 1hour 45 mins driving, and a 1/4 tank of gas. Pricey lesson learned. However, I'm grateful that my windshield is fixed before winter. I recommend this location for folks who live in the area. It's clean with a comfortable waiting room. Also, if you're low in cash, make sure you know that "flat rate" doesn't mean the same to everyone. Use the Project tool to receive quotes, etc, but do extra homework and know exactly how much a service will cost you in exact pricing, considering your travel (gas) expenses, and time when comparing.

The first windshield was installed high to the roof on the left and shifted as far right as the glass could go. Another replacement was ordered at this point and when that glass was installed the installer damaged the paint all the way around the edge of the glass. They also damaged the interior A-pillar and steering wheel in the process. Now the glass had to be cut out again and reinstalled. The edges of the glass was damaged in multiple locations and the rubber seal around the edge has now been replaced with a foam that is not up to the standard it should be. There was also excess foam sticking out about 1" at the top corners of the glass. This is absolutely unacceptable for a warranty repair whether it is within your spec or not. Now the dealer is ordering another new windshield and hopefully will find someone else to cut out and reinstall the new one. This will be the 4th windshield in my vehicle due to incompetent installers.

An OEM windshield replacement was approved and an appointment was made for 6/20/26 at 10:00 am. I was sent two texts verifying it as well as a robocall. Then at 3:00 pm on 6/19/26 was cancelled with no explanation. I contacted Safelite / Progressive and was told that the OEM windshield is delayed with a possible delivery date of 7/1/26. Why this wasn't communicated to me by either party is beyond me. An adjuster at Progressive said someone from Safelite would contact me, they didn't. My adaptive headlights, daytime running lights, windshield washers, automatic wipers, dome/map light and lane warning devices no longer work. They also broke the right side sun visor. This experience has been a nightmare. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with state of Michigan Insurance Commissioner. It shouldn't take a month to replace a windshield. This is ridiculous. I dropped my truck off on December 30, 2025, but did not receive it back until January 6, 2026. On January 2, 2026, I received an email stating my completion date had been pushed to January 6. On January 6, I had to call the shop myself to check on the status. I was told they were just about to call me and that my truck was being detailed. When I arrived, my truck was still inside the building, and I was asked if I was comfortable pulling it out myself, which I did. As I pulled out, I noticed a printer box in my back seat that was not there when I dropped my truck off. The box contained some of my personal belongings. Once I got home and went through it, I realized items that had been in my center console and throughout the truck were missing. I immediately called the shop. I did not accuse anyone of stealing. The gentleman I spoke with said they would have a meeting the next morning and that the general manager would call me. I did not receive a call in the morning, so I called in the afternoon. The general manager told me his employees would never steal anything and suggested that some kids must have broken into my truck. I was told to call him back with a dollar amount and he would pay me cash. When I called back a couple of days later with a reasonable amount based on the actual value of my missing belongings, I was told I just made that number up. I stated that I wanted to be compensated for the full amount of my missing belongings, at which point he said he would take the matter to corporate and get back to me. I did not receive a follow-up. After multiple calls over the next couple of weeks, I was eventually told that corporate would not be paying anything and that a voicemail had been left for me, which I never received. I have since filed a police report and will be following up on the matter. I won't comment much on the actual repair--it was just a bumper and appears to be installed correctly. However, I still don't understand why a job quoted as 1-3 days took over a week. I was fortunate to have a rental through insurance; had I been paying out of pocket, this experience would have been far worse. Based on the delays, lack of communication, and how the situation with my missing belongings was handled, I would not recommend this shop.

Also, one time they forgot to bolt the undercarriage of my car back on and half the protective plate fell out on the freeway. I vowed to trust no more car people. So when my husband informed me we had a flat tire, and needed to find a place to replace it, I just kinda sat there. "Look online" he said. I typed. "What am I looking for?" I said. "Tires" he said. I typed "TIRED." He took the computer. Though I was convinced we were setting ourselves up to be swindled and cheated, I went to Belle Tire. When my husband asked the guy behind the counter for new tires, the suspiciously friendly-looking mechanic came out to take a look. Smiling, he said, "Let's see if we can save you guys some money today." After 2 cups of free coffee (yay!) and 20-30 mins waiting, we saw our guy round the corner. "You had three nails in your tire so we were able to fix it." Relieved, we approached the counter to pay. "Oh, no charge." Let me emphasize, this was our first time here. We were not repeat customers, we've never been in their system before, not in any state. This smiling man behind the counter just made our day. I stopped by with an automobile that had a chip in the windshield, no appointment. The staff at the…read moredesk were very polite, they answered my questions and processed everything efficiently. I have a truck that had a crack that ran from top to bottom of the windshield. While the chip was being repaired on the car, the staff took care of everything, from contacting the insurance company and filing the claim to scheduling an appointment for later in the week for the truck's windshield replacement. When that was all set the car was done and I was on my way. When I returned with the truck, it was promptly taken back for repair. I was told it would take 1-2 hours, but I barely waited 1 hour. The truck was treated with care and it looks great! From professionalism to workmanship, I am very happy with the team at this Henderson Glass location. I would go back should I ever have additional auto glass repair needs and I highly recommend. Side note: My visits were during second wave of pandemic. Everyone is wearing a mask, there is a partition at the front desk, and they provide hand sanitizer.
