Although they don't usually service the make of my wife's vehicle, I called & talked to Dave who said he had some time and to bring it in. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long to get the car checked out that Saturday morning. After initial inspection, we thought it was a simple fix. Dave advised me to drive it around the block for a bit to confirm, but the issue came back. After re-evaluating and scanning the OBD codes, it led us to the likeliest root cause. Dave got right on finding and procuring the necessary parts. I had told him my time crunch for needing the car back, and he was able to finish the work a day ahead of that. Long story short... having old cars can be a pain and certain manufacturers have very expensive OEM parts, but this shop seemed upfront and honest. The big name Indy Porsche shop in Westlake / TO said I needed $3500 of random suspension work. Took it to German Auto Doctor and the guy said my suspension was fine. I knew it was I just wanted to confirm these guys tried to rip me off. The icing on the cake is this big name shop ran the wiper fluid and the whole roof of the car had blue splatters all over it. I have not brought my car to this local shop for any service yet. But I would give them a 5 star for my first interaction with Dave. And here is why. I sent my 2020 BMW X5 to Rusnak for a front wheel clicking noise diagnosis yesterday. Just received a report link in which they claimed front left tie rod is faulty. They want me to replace both front tie rods and do an alignment. They quoted me $2000. My car is under 25,000 miles and manufacture warranty was just expired last month but still under CPO warranty until early next year. I have no idea how much this work will actually cost. So, I am calling local shops to do a quote. Dave from German Auto Doctor picked up my call and was very honest with me. He suggested tie rods should not fail for cars with such a low mileage and I should contact BMW USA to pay for the repair. Also, the dealer quote is ridiculously high. The fair price of the job should be around $700 or so. He did not even ask me if I want to do the job through his shop. Dave earned my trust in just 5 minutes. I highly and completely recommend German Auto Doctor. Last year I decided to buy a 20 year old Mercedes Benz G Wagen. It is getting to the point where collectors are buying these cars. It came with the expected issues of a 20 year old car, valve cover gasket was leaking, or was running g rough, the transmission shifter would not go into the lower gears, the doors would not lock and unlock with the remote, the moonroof did not open, and and few other things. I checked around my town to see if anyone had experience working on these cars. I had no luck. I ended up at the Mercedes dealer. I ended up waiting for over a month and stopped by a couple of times to check on the repairs. Both times they had me talk to the lead mechanic. He complained that they did not have the diagnostic software and that they were trying this and that and that they had called Germany and some other excuses. I ended up with an enormous bill and only about three repairs. A few weeks later, the car started running poorly again. I took it to another mechanic and he told me the work don't at the dealer was shoddy. He kept it two weeks and I got another large bill.O bounced around a couple of other mechanics and a couple of more large bills without any success. Then things got very scary-the transmission stopped shifting. Went back to the same shops and more bills without a solution . Then one day I cane across an advertisement for the German Auto Doctor. David was the answer to my prayers. David diagnosed all the issues and went out of his way to find the difficult to find parts that were needed-HE FIXED ALL THE PROBLEMS. He was communicative through the repair process. And the bill? Completely reasonable. Completely professional. I am so happy I found the German Auto Doctor. One day I was out on the road and had a problem with the window not going up. Over the phone he gave me a fix that worked-AMAZING! Now he does all the work on my other cars.
