Dave is the man! I previously took my car to another mechanic in Simi to get my water pump replaced for my Audi A3 and after I got it it fixed I got a check engine light. Decided not take it back there and was recommended to go take it in to The German Auto Doctor. Well, Dave found out that the coolant temp sensor harness was damaged. He replaced the sensor along with the harness repair kit at such reasonable price. I was afraid the cost of repair was going to be so high but must say he is very reasonable. Before taking it in I was ready to give up on this car but after Dave explained that the issues it had were minor and could be easily fixed, I decided to fix it and keep it! Last year I purchased my life-long dream car, a 2004 Porsche 911. I was able to find a pristine model at a local Porsche dealership. The car drove fine, no issues until I spotted a small oil leak. I took it in to Dave and Mondo - they diagnosed the problem as a main rear seal and suggested I do the 30K maintenance since there was no evidence of it having been done. They were awesome explaining the entire process and called me over to inspect the seal failure. They also mentioned that the clutch was worn down. They repaired it all and the car now drives like it's brand new - the clutch is smooth, the power band is noticeably better and no oil leak. Better than when I drove it off the lot. This place is one of the most trustworthy shops you can take your vehicle. From start to finish Mechanic and Owner Dave W. was great. Dave was very understanding of my situation and concerns. I have a Land Rover Range Rover that had a component fail while driving on the freeway. Talk about a warm and fuzzy feeling about the brand. My 2012 VW CC had issues with the AC compressor. After taking it to Neftin Westlake a year prior and replacing the same part, Neftin would not honor the year warranty since it was a week overdue. Neftin said it was my alternator that froze up causing my compressor to malfunction and would have cost me three times as much to replace. Also because of this diagnosis it was neftin's reasoning they couldnt honor the year warranty. I didnt believe Neftin and refused to give them any more business. As a result I found the German Auto Doctor here in Simi. After reading the reviews and having an additional issue with the fuel injectors i decided to take it in. Dave and his team are FAIR, HONEST, and REASONABLE on PRICING. I told them what happened at Neftin Westlake and they took me under their wing to help me out. So, in a desperate attempt to save my car from being sold for scraps, I called auto shops all around on a Saturday afternoon - after a DIY repair that was almost perfectly done, went wrong. One place told me they were a week out for appts, other places were closed. Dave returned my call - after the shop was closed!! Not only that, but he tried to help problem solve over the phone!! The German Auto Doctor is the only place I will take my 2006 BMW 325i. Dave has always done a great job on my car and it is worth the drive from Santa Clarita. I recently had a situation where the starter went bad on my car. It was late in the day so I thought this one time I would simply have a local mechanic replace the starter as I didn't want to tow my car all the way to Simi. Huge mistake. The other mechanic put in a faulty starter and messed with the crank sensor in the process, costing me a fortune and also causing me to not have my car for quite a few days. I finally had my car towed to Dave at the German Auto Doctor and he made the repairs in a timely fashion. He also noticed another situation wherein the steering wheel was loose and he said it was dangerous for me to be driving my car in that condition, something the other mechanic overlooked and put me at risk by doing so. Do not look anywhere else, bring your vehicle to German Auto Doctor and talk to Dave! I would only take my 2011 BMW 528i to the dealership because I didn't want anyone else to work on my car especially when it was out of warranty. Things started to get very expensive, the dealership charges over $200 to "diagnose" and tell you what's wrong with your car. Things got extremely expensive and the communication was horrible, I felt like all they cared about was the money and the level of service was poor. I then started to get frustrated and searched for another German auto repair shop, took my car one time to them and that was the last time because they also had poor service. Thank God I met Dave, he has been honest, straight forward, does great work, is knowledgeable and affordable! Where do I even start?! Dave is by far the nicest and most honest mechanic I've ever been too. My check engine light had been on and I needed to take my car in for smog. A buddy of mine had referred me to a couple people and Dave was one of them. I messaged him and the other guy, but Dave replied to me quickly and was very professional. The other guy eventually got back to me, but there was something about Dave and him getting back to me in a timely manner that made me give him a try. I called him and was able to setup an appointment with him for the next day (which was today). I get to his place, he does some kind of test to see what the problem could be an he determines the issue. The best part of it all was that he actually asked me to come and see what he's doing, so I can know more about what's going on. I don't know why, but I thought that was amazing! Look, being a girl and taking your car to get anything done on it is a gamble. We are going to get lied to or told to pay for something we don't really need. Either way, we get screwed. Dave not only showed me what he was doing but he also explained to me what each thing does and what the purpose of the parts were. Say what you want, but that was super comforting and made paying the bill less stressful. Had a great experience with this shop. The owner, Dave, worked on my car, a 2001 BMW 750iL ,personally and did an excellent job. It needed a new blower motor/resistor which is a very difficult job. Brought the car in on a Tuesday and got it back Thursday. Not only did he finish it so quickly but also the repair cost was very reasonable. It was much less than what the other shops quoted me. A couple of things to note- the shop is very clean and well-maintained. great customer service also, was surprised by Dave's call to follow up on how the a/c was working.
