Now there's telling me something's wrong with my air compressor, they\n're telling me it's gonna cost additional 3,200.00 when I first brought it in , I agreed to pay the three thousand i use my income tax just to do that. Gunther VW tried to rip me off at the tune of $250.00 for a simple job of replacing a starter button that I had half out of the panel but couldn't release the 2 clips. Transmission warning light on my 2018 Audi A3 so I drove there- way closer than the dealer. They checked it out and called the dealer Discovered there was a service bulletin that covered the repair. UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNHELPFUL - AVOID THIS PLACE I had a deeply frustrating experience with German Auto World after they serviced my BMW 3 Series in 2023 and incorrectly entered the mileage, which I only discovered when trying to sell the car in 2025. The inaccurate mileage--entered higher than my current odometer--ended up on my Carfax report, immediately raising red flags with potential buyers and holding up my trade-in. This was likely an honest mistake (Bobbi their mechanic confirmed it was entered in kilometers), but the way the staff handled it was beyond disappointing. I initially spoke with Jenny Myer, who gave me inconsistent information--first saying they couldn't fix it, then requesting photos of my odometer and VIN with a date/time stamp (which I provided). After that, she changed her story again, claiming I'd need to bring the car in for a scan. According to the dealer helping with my trade-in, this was highly unusual and unnecessary. When my husband tried to clarify and request a simple copy of the original invoice showing the mileage (to help the dealership correct the Carfax report), Jenny yelled at him, called us liars, and hung up the phone. She later emailed a link to a "bill" with no mileage on it. When we asked for a proper copy (PDF or physical) with the mileage displayed, we were told we had to pick it up in person. When I arrived at their shop--empty lot, all staff hanging out--I was refused the document because my last name doesn't match my husband's, even though I offered proof I was the insured driver and co-owner. Jenny showed up, rolled her eyes, and stormed off after repeating her demand to "scan the car." Thankfully, Bobbi, the mechanic who originally worked on the vehicle, handed over a printout, but refused to simply write "km" next to the mileage figure to clarify the error. The entire ordeal felt manipulative and hostile. I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a loyal customer. Their behavior gave me the impression they were trying to coerce me into bringing the car in under the guise of a scan--possibly to upsell unnecessary repairs--just to correct their own mistake. This isn't how you treat customers--especially when your error is costing them thousands in lost vehicle value. Personally, I have taken my bmw here several times and am always treated with honesty and respect. The last time I brought my car here, instead of fixing it and charging me, they actually called someone they knew at the Bmw dealer and despite the issue not being covered by warranty, the man they knew at the dealer agreed to do the work under warranty anyway. To add insult to injury, they damaged my vehicle while it was there and claimed it was that way when I brought it in, even though I have pictures showing the vehicle at the time of drop off and the damage was not there. While I was in line to pay the bill the people behind me had the same complaints. Unauthorized work, substandard work and lack of customer service. Infact, they were snotty to say the least. I read the reviews and took my car in to have it serviced for clogged sunroof drains on Tuesday morning. They must have had to open the shade to do the job, understandably so. However, this is the state the vehicle was returned to me. I had the sunroof open all of Memorial Day weekend no issues. The least that they could have done was try to fix this mess and return the car how they got it. My white interior is ruined!! I can only trust they did the job since with the amount of water left in the car it will be hard to tell until I get it detailed. Dropped the car off on Tuesday morning called them Friday evening when I didn't hear back. I was told I had 30 mins to pick the car up because it was ready. The entire experience has just killed my vibe. Seeing my car in a worse state than I presented it to them just hurt. I happen to like my car so I spend to take care of it. When you are new to a city and in need of a reliable mechanic you may need to take chance. Well I made a huge mistake in choosing German Auto World. Before going into my story, take this warning upfront to avoid this place like the plague. Horrible service and unreliable. I brought these guys an 2004 Mercedes SL500 in May to get an estimate on resolving an issue with power consumption and to get to the root cause of what .was preventing the convertible top from going down. I was prepared to invest in repairing this car because I got it from my dad and was a bit nostalgic. I was willing to wait because it was not my primary vehicle thinking progress was being made. Well these guys kept my car for 4 months coming back with all sorts of stories about needing to order parts and new issues requiring a revised estimate. So now in September they came back and said they couldn't fix it was just going to give it back. I went to collect the car and saw it was a filthy mess. Clearly the car was just sitting out collecting bird crap. They did replace a battery and fixed a bent wheel, so I paid for that and the cost of the estimate. Basically I am back to square one and found a more reliable company. Oh yeah they made things worse. I have never experienced such terrible service and will never step foot in that place again. Among the things they fixed for me were the replacement of the Driver's door speaker and the rear window remotely operated sun screen. I was more than satisfied with their work and felt they cared a lot more about me and my car than the original Dealer did. I was a customer for only a few months when we decided to relocate from Florida to Virginia and I had mentioned that to Bob, one of the owners. I made an appointment to have the wheels rotated, balanced, and tire pressures adjusted prior to our leaving for Virginia. The work was done. When I went to pick up the car I was told because we were leaving, the work done was on them. I was not a long-time Customer but they did know me and my car. They went "the extra mile" for me. By not charging me I feel they demonstrated a real concern and interest in me as a customer and as a person. I know they are ethical, reliable, and want to provide total satisfaction. Their waiting area is bright, clean, and comfortable. They have a couple of vending machines for drinks and snacks. I had brought with me a book to read on my iPad while I waited for the rotation to be copleted. I needed an internet connection to connect to the Palm Beach County Library system. They accommodated me by helping me connect to their WiFi network. Bait-n-Switch We called in advance to verify the pricing and ability for regular maintenance on ou S550. We were told they "do it all the time" and the cost is $300. After they had the car for a couple of hours, they called my husband and said it was over $900 and they had already begun the work! We had no choice but to accept the price. When we picked up the car, the owner was nowhere to be found and has been unresponsive to our email inquiries. I had an appointment to install a headlight bulb and to adjust the parking brake. It was clear that I wanted to wait for the service. Upon arrival days later for the appointment, I was told that it could take 3 to 4 hours, and that I would need to leave my car. When asked what it would cost for this service, they would not provide a cost stating that the issue needed to be diagnosed. read more

I recently had to have my BMW 2020xi sedan repaired because of some front and side damage that I caused in a parking lot. I went to German Auto World and spoke with Joe and Sammy Barmichael who are brothers that run the business. I was treated extremely nicely and given a quotation in writing along with an explanation by Sammy on what and how they would fix the vehicle back to looking like new. The price was very fair and much better than the local BMW dealer so I decided to have the car fixed by German Auto World. I left the car on a recent Monday and was told by Sammy that it would be done by Friday and he would call me when it was finished. I then received a call from Sammy one day early, Thursday afternoon to tell me that the car was finished and I could pick it up. I went to pick the car up and was extremely happy with the work that was done by German Auto Works. NEVER AGAIN will I set foot in there, even though I need warranty work on what they did. First they took it upon themselves to do almost $2,300 worth of work on a car worth around $5,000. The owner lied and said I authorized it after he said he tried to call me numerous times. I immediately offered to show him my phones call list which showed no missed calls. He shut up. Then he tried to tell me that he taped the conversation and I asked him to get it. He shut up again. In fact, I emailed him over 24 hours before the car was ready because I didn't return my call from the day before, plus I had one more question before deciding what I was going to fix, He never answered my calls or email before the car was ready even though he said he read my email. I specifically said in the email that once he answered my last question I would let him know what I could afford to fix immediately. He never offered me a written estimate, nor did he get any written consent to do the work. Worst of all the service engine light which is what I came to him for came right back on within the time I drove home and he assured me I would not get that warning anymore. Lesson learned... I've known Sammy and Joey since the mid 80s when we brought our VW Diesel Vanagon to their shop on Ives Dairy Road in Miami for an overhaul. They did a magnificent job. Soon after, we bought their father's Hunter green antique 1975 Mercedes 240 Diesel and when my daughter started to drive at age 16, she went to school with the old German pantzer tank, to the delight of her classmates. Recently, we bought a MB 2010 C300 and I drove from Miami all the way to Delray to have it inspected. There are a lot of German car mechanics in my area but none as trustworthy as the ones from the brothers Barmichael. I'd been to one near us and his place was deserted at 10 am. I went to the brandnew Mercedes dealer on the Palmetto Expressway and their prices drove me away - all the way to Delray. Our car's former owner did not do the upkeep regularly nor properly. So a lot of problems to fix. Joey took me under the car and showed me: here, there and everywhere. Important, essential, vital work to be done to make the vehicle safe and sound again. We made a deal. I'd leave the car and drive home in a rental - free of charge. The next day i'd come back and the Merz would be ready. Yes the cost was astronomical, but as Joey pointed out, we bought the car reasonably low and the cost of these repairs - highly needed - would bring the automobile to a standard expected of a Mercedes Benz. Compared to other repair shops who work on luxury automobiles, German Auto World is the most honest and thorough. I retrieved my vehicle and made payment. I then in a calm and mature adult manner expressed my dissatisfaction with how they do business. During the owners agitated response he stated ... I could have told you it was the valve cover gasket and you would not have known the difference.... Not the cause of my issue and a much more expensive service. Florida law: If a repair will cost more than $100, the law requires the repair shop to give you the option of: Requesting a written estimate; Being notified by the shop if the repair exceeds an amount you specify; Not requiring a written estimate at all. My Audi Camera had wiring problem and German Auto World kept telling us it was camera problem. After temporary repairs they asked us to get new camera, which we did. After spending thousands, same problem occurred and now they tell us it's wiring problem. Kept my car overnight for repair, didn't do anything and now telling me they need more time and days to figure out the wires! Total rip off. I will never go back to them again. These guys are scammers and low. I took my car to them for a QUOTE to have a few things to have done. Did not hear from them for two days, despite calling for updates. Bobby would answer and tell me he did not know the status. I showed up at 5:30pm on the second day and asked for my car back as I had no idea why a quote takes two days. They said the car was "buried" in the garage and I couldn't have it. The third day I find out they did unauthorized repair work and charged me $288 for a list of things without quoting or asking if I wanted to move forward with the repair. One issue I wanted them to address was my glove box latch sticking. They told me they "fixed it on the house". Immediately after the repair I noticed electrical issues with my trunk that were not present before. I asked the online BMW forums which led me to the glove box wiring (which somehow connects to the trunk button apparently). They must have accidentally severed the wires in the glove box and then just taped them up as if I wouldn't notice. See photo. Those wires are supposed to connect to a switch that locks the trunk when you lock the glove box. I went there to show them and John told me he thought it was part of an alarm system and THREW IT AWAY!?! I told them, fine, please just order the switch (assuming they would reinstall it on the house for such a botch job). They called me later that day to tell me I would have to buy the entire latch for $140+, and they would not cover it, even though it was their fault. Yikes. Unreal. Not honest. My car dealer stated I needed a wheel alignment that was not covered during a visit for a warrantied recall item. Declined their service and brought it to German Auto World for 40% less. That was good, but then German Auto World informed me that I needed control arm bushings that were cracked/broken that the dealer completed MISSED during their inspection. They suggested that I bring it back to the dealer since it would be covered under the warrantee. Took my husbands 2014 Mercedes C class here to have tires checked and oil change service. Told by Bobby and Sammy, the owners, that they would check over the whole vehicle as part of the service. I was told by both men that the tires, and overall the car was in great shape. Everything looks "brand new". However, two weeks later my husband takes the car to another shop because h feels the car is not riding right. Upon inspection the tires were BALD with the wire showing through the tire and sidewalks!. I can not understand how anyone could miss this. We both went under the car and saw the condition of the tires. In fact we were told and ultimately chose not to drive ANYWHERE on those tires given their condition. Fortunately, we did not have a major accident because of these incompetent shop owners. They missed bald fraying tires but recommended a cabin filter, wiper blades and a transmission service for the vehicle. I approved the cabin air filter and wipers. I paid for both but the wipers were never delivered within my visit. I was assured that they would be there within 30 minutes. Two days later on Monday I asked for my money back since no blades had arrived. We called Mercedes about the "recommended transmission service". Mercedes told us to wait another 20000 miles before doing this service. I do not know what their SCAM is, but if you want competent people looking at your care and making sure you are safe this is NOT the shop to use!!!!! read more
