    Blutwurst & Liverwurst.
    Jessie C.

Wonderful place! Im thrilled to hear Germans speaking their native tongue here. Ok first let me start off by saying that they have a nice selection of German imports; sauerkraut, pickles, cookies & treats, oils, etc. I have not bought any cheeses, but I may have to next time I visit because their sausages are good quality & very tasty. I bring these sausages to the family cookouts and they love it! I know most people aren't a fan of "offal" meats but the liverwurst is my favorite item here which they have a couple varieties of liverwurst. The tricky thing is finding a place to park, they have customer only parking and the nearby parking is reserved by the neighboring restaurant.

I called in for carry-out, then had someone get the items for me. They accept debit/credit card, I believe thre was a small service fee if paying by card. The onion liverwurst was excellent,, I spread it over my gluten free bread, then had a 2nd serving that tasted even better with thin slice of onions on top. I ordered the house made ham, liverwurst and bratwurst. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful over the phone. As I have allergies, she helped me steer clear of the items I may be allergic to (Beef, dairy & gluten)

If you have ever lived or been to Germany it's like a walk through time.

The food is authentic and the sausage and meats are amazing. The owner was friendly and came out from the back to speak with me. If you have ever lived in or visited Germany you have to check this place out. It's a walk through Germany!

Authentic and delicious! The selection of German products is great but the sausages, meats and cheese can't be beat.

I grew up rurally and had never eaten pork chops bought from a store until moving away. Same with ribs. My father, a Journeyman electrician had friends who farmed and sold their own pork. None better! Rusty Nail's pork chops, especially their porterhouse cuts, are even better than the ones I recall so fondly from my youth. Tender, perfectly marbled and flavorful like none other. They're not "grocery store" cuts. We also bought a rack of baby back ribs. My least favorite step in smoking them is removing their membrane. Not only was this (attention to detail!) step already completed, they were fall-off-the-bone highest quality. So good! Unlike when I was young these chops can be grilled to medium or medium-well if preferred, preserving their juices and maximizing flavor. These too are now on our dinner favorites rotation. Simple seasoning with salt and pepper is all that's needed, although next time we're trying their seasonings. We will continue shopping here regularly. We've referred every friend who enjoys value and great meals too--in other words we have suggested to everyone we know to give these great people (and local ownership!) a try. Without fail our friends are truly grateful.

I only ended up here because I've been on a bit of a backyard cooking kick lately. We've got a full outdoor kitchen and smoker, and today we're hosting a crowd, so I figured I'd go hunt down a solid brisket. That quick errand turned into something else entirely. Walked in and immediately knew I wasn't in a typical grocery store meat section. The selection is on another level. I went in with tunnel vision for brisket and walked out with a beautiful cut, plus a leg of lamb and a few Wagyu steaks that I absolutely did not plan on buying. No regrets. The quality speaks for itself. Everything looked fresh, well-cut, and handled by people who clearly know what they're doing. Not just tossing meat in a case and calling it a day. There were also some more unique options that caught my eye, the kind of stuff you don't usually see unless you're really looking for it. Definitely gave me a few ideas for future weekends. What really stuck with me though was the staff. Genuinely friendly, easy to talk to, and helpful without hovering. I asked a couple questions and got real answers, not some rehearsed script. You can tell they take pride in what they're selling. If you're into cooking, especially if you've got a smoker and like experimenting a bit, this place is dangerous in the best way. I came in for one thing and left with a whole game plan. Safe to say I'll be back next time we're in town.

Theirs is the hot buttered with chives sprinkled on top and a bag of chips. There were Huge pieces of lobster meat and a lot of it. So much so that pieces fell out while trying to wrap my lips around it. I also bought a pound of Faroe Island Salmon that I'm excited to grill. It was very cool of the Tap Room (next door) to allow me to eat my lunch on their picnic tables outside without ordering a drink. I came after lunch so it wasn't busy. I won't sugar coat it, Nelson's is pricey. The roll was $34. However they have fish that you can't find elsewhere. The ahi tuna was beautiful but I already set my mind to the salmon. I was surprised they even had guanciale (pork jowel) which is sought after in Italian pasta dishes. It's a bit of a drive for me but next time I want a toasted buttery lobster roll I will come to Nelson's!

So, after searching up and down, I stumbled upon Nelson's. I came by for an early lunch. This location is a very small place, really only big enough for a few fridges full of meats/fish, as well as the counter itself. I came in, and I took a little bit to decide what I wanted from the menu, and settled on a shrimp salad sandwich and a half pound of salmon poke. Before, during, and after the ordering process, I feel like the gentleman behind the counter was a little cold and not wanting to talk to me much. It seemed like I was inconveniencing him, so I felt bad about that. For that reason, I didn't really try to make conversation. I hope his day got better! I took the food togo, of course, and I ate the shrimp sandwich first. The seasoning was really great, and the salad was really well balanced. Mayo, onions, chives, cabbage: everything was well-represented and nothing was overbearingly seasoned. Yummy sandwich! The bread was a little drier than I would have liked, but very minor. It also came with Zapp's chips! Always a plus in my book. The poke? Delicious. I get the price. It's expensive, but it's the middle of a desert in 115 degree weather. Great representation of salmon poke, and super well seasoned with pacific island flavors that are certainly reminiscent of the stuff you'd get on the island! If you're looking for a wonderful seafood experience, I'm confident you'd like Nelson's in Phoenix.

I have visited twice (so far!) and been thoroughly impressed. With my first visit, my bestie and I shared a two-person sized board with no meat, so maximum cheese. We were able to sample the cheeses before committing them to a spot on our board. The team at Shea Cheese paired our selections with other charcuterie items to make a perfect grazing board. We also spilt the turkey and brie sandwich. The sandwich was paired with the most delicious kettle chips as well. For my second visit, I went with the pizza grilled cheese (sans olives) and got a pimento cheese sandwich to go for my mother. We were both beyond pleased with our grub. Of note, right next door to Shea Cheese is Shea Lounge, which is a little bookstore and lounge to enjoy your cheesy items. The event was a visit to Proof Bakery to see how the dough is *literally* made before heading back to Shea Cheese for the tasting. It was also BYOB. Overall, we had a great time. The space was cute and intimate, and the tasting was plentiful. They did open up the shop after the event too, so we were able to buy some deli meats and a bottle of natty wine. Their food menu looked soooo yummy, I look forward to coming back for lunch and for another event. Shea Cheese is a small business, owned by a couple who ensured that the experience was awesome. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking out their cookbook collection too. My only critique for the tasting was that they included a pimento cheese, which they make, that has mayo in it. I personally would've preferred they added one of their more unique options instead as neither my mom or I ate that part of the board (mostly due to the mayo).
