My best friend introduced me to Shea Cheese and I think I am now their biggest fan. I love cheese and supporting small businesses, so this was the perfect marriage. I have visited twice (so far!) and been thoroughly impressed. With my first visit, my bestie and I shared a two-person sized board with no meat, so maximum cheese. We were able to sample the cheeses before committing them to a spot on our board. The team at Shea Cheese paired our selections with other charcuterie items to make a perfect grazing board. We also spilt the turkey and brie sandwich. The sandwich was paired with the most delicious kettle chips as well. For my second visit, I went with the pizza grilled cheese (sans olives) and got a pimento cheese sandwich to go for my mother. We were both beyond pleased with our grub. I booked a bread + cheese pairing at Shea Cheese for my Mom & I after reading about their events online (thanks Reddit). The event was a visit to Proof Bakery to see how the dough is *literally* made before heading back to Shea Cheese for the tasting. It was also BYOB. Overall, we had a great time. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking out their cookbook collection too. My only critique for the tasting was that they included a pimento cheese, which they make, that has mayo in it. When I find a local treasure like this I like to share it, but kinda want to keep it to myself so it stays as perfect as it is right now My wife and I had stopped at Shea Cheese to buy things in the past, but we decided to have their sandwiches today! Wow! I had the Turkey with mustard Gouda and fig jam. It's a flavor and texture explosion that was unmatched. I know that's a lot for a sandwich but it really was. Spicy mustard, combining with sweet fig jam and cold cucumbers with turkey and Gouda cheese. My wife has the apple/bacon/brie melt, it was fantastic as well [[HIGHLIGHT]]You order at the cheese shop then head to the suite next door called the Shea Lounge, a kitschy little wifi cafe with free kcup coffee, filtered water, free WiFi and comfy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They brought our food over (and they have a byob liquor license) and we'd picked up natural sodas and we enjoyed the place and the food. A few months ago, we went to the Gilbert Farmers Market where we found Shea Cheese. This excited me because they said they have cheese from Jasper Hill Farm which is my favourite creamery. I was less excited when I discovered they are 27 miles away from my house. "I will never go here." I thought to myself, as I took their business card just to be polite. But oh, that cheese! With the thoughts of Jasper Hill's Bayley Hazen Blue dancing in my head, an errand to run up on that side of town, and the knowledge that driving a 54 miles round trip is less expensive than flying to Vermont (or having it shipped from Vermont!) I finally made it to the Promised Land that is Shea Cheese yesterday. I started off by ordering a Turkey & Brie sandwich and a bottle of water. The helpful gentleman told me they have a nice room next door to eat my sandwich and there is a pitcher of water there if I don't want to buy a fancy bottle. Wat? Someone trying to save me my money? I think I am going to like it here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to the space next door which is lovely and welcoming, with couches and tables and all sorts of places to relax.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was invited back for "Silent Book Club" which I sure do wish I could attend but it's too far away. So yeah, they have events, check their calendar. This is a great Third Space that I am jealous of, wish we had one in my neighbourhood. My sandwich was yummy, the bread was soft and fresh, there were apples in there, and the greenery made me feel virtuously healthy. I ate half, so I appreciate that it was served in a compostable to-go box. My husband ate and enjoyed the other half. Now. Now it is time to CHEESE SHOP! I was there for Jasper Hill. I got my beloved Bayley Hazen Blue, a wheel of Little Hosmer, and some Alpha Toman. Sadly there was no Cabot Clothbound so I sampled four different cheddars before settling on the Cottonwood. Shout out and thank you for all the samples! I also got some fancy prosciutto ham where once again, they tried to save my money by warning me the slices are very large so I might not need as much as I think I do. Challenge accepted! This was a different staff member so I do feel moved to mention again how much I appreciate it. In return, I paid cash instead of the gift card I was planning on using, to save you the credit card fee. One good turn deserves another! Many thanks to Shea Cheese for my little charcuterie platter, it was delicious! Sweet dreams are made of cheese I've been meaning to visit Shea Cheese since it opened and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long! Owner Jenny Zink, along with her husband Isaak, is a lively adventurous person living life to the fullest. I met Jenny years ago, when she ran a women's adventure group, and I was looking to meet new people. Although I wish that we had more outings of riding electric scooters along the canals of Old Town, I'm excited to support her in her adventures as a business owner. The day we stopped in she was actually hosting the Red Cross for a blood drive. I'm an avid donor and saw this as my push to get to Shea cheese. I had to cancel my donation for scheduling issues, but still went in later and saw Jenny handing every donor a gift bag. I've donated at many host locations and have never seen this! She set a goal of 17 donors and ended up with 27! We stopped in for the makings of a delicious charcuterie board and it put a big smile on my face as I saw Jenny again, in her element of bringing strangers together. Jenny is very candid about her 7+ year sobriety journey and I see the comments on her posts about people sharing their own journey. If you can't tell, she just amazes me. Ok...so now to the shop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's an intimate cute space with so many yummy options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Isaak gave us cheese samples and helped us pick a cheddar, bleu, and soft cheese to go with our meats and crackers. We loved the decadent truffle flavor of the Unbrielievable grilled cheese and the savory rich roast beef and bleu cheese flavors of The Lil' Stinker. Jen, the owner is hilarious, kind and innovative! Their charm can keep you entertained all evening. The de-alcoholized Sangria was spectacular, thank you for having options for those who don't drink alcohol! Every paired tasting tonight was unique and full of flavor. Went for the silent book club and ended up buying a recipe book. The lounge has a good selection of books and blind book dates for $15 which is a great price. The owner is very nice, I haven't been to the cheese side of the store yet but taking a peak it looks like they have a good selection to choose from. Will be back! read more

The owner was lovely and extremely friendly and helpful, and they had an absolutely fantastic selection of every cheese you could think of, as well as unique alcohol and mead, jams, nuts, and all sorts of accoutrements. Adorable cheese shop! I am definitely a fan of cheese so this was a great place for me to check out! The staff was super helpful in letting me try the cheese and giving suggestions. They also had a little selection of beverages and a whole area dedicated to nonalcoholic drinks, which my pregnant self appreciates! I ended up getting a 4 yr cheddar from behind the counter, and a garlic and herb white cheddar from the refrigerated area. Nice array of unique cheeses and everything you need to put together your own spread.- We later ordered via their online website the small grazing board for a family birthday. It serves 4-6 people, but it was plenty for the 7 of us. The grazing board was beautifully presented, wrapped and ready for pickup at our designated time. It was a huge hit and our family loved it. It's a real deal cheese shop where the staff know their stock super well, can provide specific recommendations based on more common cheese they don't have, and offer you tastings of various cheeses. We had ordered some Thai from a nearby restaurant and figured we'd waste some time peeking around this little store nestled in the corner of the shopping area. Our time was NOT wasted! We ended up buying all sorts of little things from Shea Cheese. A can of sake, some ginger tumeric kombucha, a plum shrub, and edible flowerfetti (for cake, bread, or cocktail garnishes). The ladies behind the counter offered us cheese samples and they were incredible. Since we already had meal plans (and a questionable fridge at the time), we held off on the cheese. The next visit, we were lucky enough to grab two sandwiches, along with a port chip tonic, a selection of cheese, and two Olipop sodas for our son. We all left happy (especially our son who was thrilled to hold on to the tiny basket through our shopping trip). The curation of items is excellent. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. They have some adorable items that would make excellent host gifts or Christmas gifts. Plus, you can create a whole beautiful charcuterie board all in this one store! Been looking for a cheese monger for over a year in the Mesa/Tempe/Phoenix area. Was very discouraged finding only department store selections then I found Shea's! Was definitely worth the 30 minute drive. Was surprised that their cheeses are mostly US and no English or French (love mimolettes and derby's) but the selection was good and the service from the young man was outstanding. It's a beautiful day in the Sheaborhood! We now have Shea Cheese! Admittedly, this is only my first visit but I'm so happy to have this shop nearby. The store was very busy as they've just opened and everyone wants to see what they are all about but the proprietors and their helpers were hopping. They were super patient with a clientele that had a lot of questions and they had samples. They seem very knowledgable about the origins of the cheese that they are carrying and I love that they have a wide selection of local stuff like Crow's Dairy. We just found a new Cheese shop, Shea Cheese, on 32nd Street a block or so north of Shea on the west side. I was reading about a new American cheese, called New School, in Food & Wine Magazine. It sounded great on burgers or grilled cheese so I looked it up. The only supply restaurants, bur Shea Cheese is their first and only retail distributor in the U.S. While there we had a great Turkey and fig sandwich on ciabatta. They also have great little gift items. The must have had over a dozen different blue cheeses. We will be going back to try more.
