Geronimos moved to the corner of Stirling and University ( they were closer to the Nova campus for many years) Huge Bar ( about 30 seats) and a dining Areas with tables and booths - could be a good place for Large parties . Great beer assortment and a full bar. Burgers, Wings, and other bar food. Had several appetizers that looked pretty food. Both of us had burgers- very good! This review has nothing to do with the bar itself, but just with the staff. Steve is incredibly unprofessional as a bartender. He was upset with a coworker due to the tip (understandably) but as somebody in the industry and not even a part of management staff, I do not appreciate false reviews and accusations of my place of work. Writing a review saying there was a cockroach in a salad (which is 100% false) affects my job and the money I make. This was our second time there. Both times we had good experiences. The food was good*, the service was good, the atmosphere was fun. It was like a neighborhood bar/sports restaurant with the look of a flannigans or Bennigan's. First time all our food was fine, This time I had my burger over cooked. It was ordered medium, but it came out well done. I gave it a couple of bites to see if I could get through it, but I couldn't. So, I asked someone to bring it back for me and make me a new one. I said I only need the burger, I don't need the fries remade. Just my burger. They brought out my burger with fries lol. No problem there, just figured they could save on the cost of wasting fries. The burger was cooked just right and was exactly what I could have hoped for. I ended up giving he fries to the people at the next table. I didn't mind that a manager didn't come by to say something about the burger. And I don't mind that it wasn't taken off the bill. I appreciate when things like that are done, but, I ate the burger, so why should it be free lol. Take lessons people. Don't expect something for free, just because it wasn't right the first time. Went there for wings, Caesar, & onion rings last night. Easily the worst meal of the year so far. Atmosphere / music terrible compared to old location. Food seems to be frozen / processed. Messed up wing order twice, and the final result was still oily & gross. Salad was like out of a Dole bag from Publix ($11!). One of my wings looked like it had MS. This new renovated bar is a huge stepping stone from where it used to be and the size of what it was. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and the ambiance of the new establishment! I came to this place the other night with co-workers. A couple of them swore by this place so the rest of us tried it out. Let me start off by saying their food is amazing! Everyone loved the food. I got the gyro platter with the fajita quesadilla which was both really good. My husband got mozzarella sticks with the honey garlic wings. He loved both of them. Even though, the food was great their margaritas were AWFUL! I have never had a margarita that was so bad it tasted like soda mixed with tequila. After that margarita, I opted for a glass of wine instead. I'm giving 4 stars because the drinks (margaritas anyway) aren't that great which really sucks considering it's a bar. read more

Well from the reviews below I can agree about the server who has an attitude. She actually told me that "I could leave and not come back" & that's exactly what I will be doing. My friends are local and go to this place because it's late night. I have ordered lunch here for pickup and the order was incorrect .... FOR LUNCH when there was 3 people sitting at the bar on a Monday. I have also ordered here during the weekends and received burnt pretzels that you could use as hockey pucks as well as an undercooked grilled chicken sandwich. This place needs a bar rescue and to fire the waitresses who are actually in relationships with managment. Probably why this establishment will not change its habits or work to change these poor reviews. :) read more

The first review highlight that pops up for Geronimos is "They have a huge beer selection, mostly craft beers." LOL ! If you think like 6 +/- drafts of beers like angry apple orchard and sea dogs blueberry is "craft beer," I take pity on your soul. Maybe there is a bitchin list of bottles I didn't get to see, but if the $7 price tag on a strongbow is any indication of how they price their [mythical] list of imports and crafts, then there is no way that I would be ordering anything anyhow.. because the most I would pay to have to sit and drink in this place is $3 tops. There is zero appeal to this place. You are in the middle of a strip mall in the middle of Davie; the entrance is littered with some of the most disgusting individuals you will ever have the pleasure of sharing air space with; and the inside is dingy, dark, and dirty. The patrons for the most part were just down right gross and the place reeked of vomit from the moment we walked in. I haven't wanted to lather myself in antibacterial that strongly in quite a while. And let me just say, that I am not scared of a good dive bar, but you can pull off the hole in the wall, grungy vibe while still maintaining some je ne se qua and a stance on sanitation, both of which are nonexistent here. I know Gmos pulls a pretty good UFC crowd in to watch the fights... and that was actually my first experience at this place a few years back. I remember it sucking much less at that point in time, BUT I also remember being force fed multiple shots of "lina's purple stank drank" -whatever that was. So, I am going to go off on a very, very short limb here and say that just like me and my first go around, the handful of reviews on here that are rated anywhere over one star must be coming from people who experience this place through a haze of purple stank drank or the like. read more

I go to school at Nova which is right next to Gmos, as it is referred to by everyone I know. Gmos is great because it is in a super centralized location and the ideal place to meet up with people. The bar is really big inside and they're plenty of large tables which makes this the perfect place to meet with large groups of people. The parking lot is huge and it is always super easy to find a space. Plus I think there are like 3 different entrances into the lot, so parking is about as good as it gets. The food. Well, I don't have a lot to say because in the dozens of times I've been to Gmos, I've only gotten one thing - the wings. The wings are awesome. They are humungous. Biggest chicken wings I've ever seen. And they aren't fried, they're grilled. Phenomenal. The rest of the menu seems kind of over priced for bar food. My favorite flavor is medium, but I've had pretty much all of them and they're all good. The staff is great in my opinion, however, they're not for everyone. The service is great and most of them are very knowledgeable about they beers they have - and they have quite an extensive selection. The problem that a lot of my friends have is that they are very snarky and sarcastic with you. I really appreciate this because I enjoy good banter, but like I said, not for everyone. The beer selection is great and they do a great job of keeping all the draft lines nice and clean. Not to get off topic, but caring for your draft lines can make or break a bar. But that is a rant for another day. Just know that it is important and Gmos does a great job. However, the beers are a bit overpriced. I think Yuengling/Bud is like 4 bucks and most of the crafts are 6 and above. Not terrible, but not great. One more thing. Gmos stays open much later than all the other bars around (Flannigans, Ale house, and I think Falcon.) Sometimes we will hit up Gmos when Flan's closes and we're not ready to stop partying. Bottom line - While Gmos is a little pricy for a college dive bar, the wings are great and it is big and easy to meet a lot of people. read more

Oh how I miss the days of stumbling out of this bar at 3AM on a Thursday night. I will never forget dancing the night away to retro tunes spun by the one and only Geronimo himself. Times have changed (we all have jobs now)....so it may not have the following it once did but the service, charm and great menu has not changed. Tucked away in the corner of an unassuming strip mall, you probably would breeze right past it. DON'T. The food here will certainly surprise you. Great thought has gone into every dish. It truly is a "casual gourmet". They have an excellent variety of well made, delicious dishes. Try the greek fare. I have never been disappointed. Found this place because of reviews. Sadly, the best craft beer they had was Jai Alai beer :/ oh well... The garlic honey chicken wings are so good! Our friends got burgers and they were pretty content. For bar food, this was great! The service was ridiculously slow and our server seemed really flustered. Geronimo's has literally become my go-to for a delicious late night meal when everything else is closed. As a matter of fact - it's my go-to when everything else is open. I always get the honey garlic wings (breaded and fried) with blue cheese. Now, they serve real chicken wings, not those tiny pigeon wings that most restaurants call chicken wings. I mean, they're hefty and very filling. The cherry on top of the cake though...is the honey garlic sauce. There is nothing generic about it. It is truly the perfect combination of fresh garlic and real honey drizzled generously over freshly breaded and fried wings. I've raved about the wings so much, Geronimo's has actually gotten a few more regulars just for the wings. Anyways, that's my 2 cents. Used to love coming to GMos old location and even had a few good nights at the new one but never actually sat down for a dinner until the other night. The menu is pretty blah and def could use a little more variety but what really annoyed me was the $15 margaritas. $13 patron margarita was bad enough but at least it tasted good. When they ran out of patron after just one drink they offered two different alternatives. I said I didn't care as long as it was silver, my wife... half joking but probably mostly not, told the waiter whatever's cheaper! And we all laughed. Whatever tequila it was I'm not sure but it tasted awful. When the bill came I discovered the second margarita was $15!!! You are a sports bar in Davie, not an upscale Fort Lauderdale restaurant and certainly not close to an overpriced sobe bar. Cool neighborhood place but the owners have forgotten why loyal customers loved the old gmos so much .... I'll never go back there and pay those prices again. read more

This is a pretty good place to go for a few drinks after work or school. It's technically on the Nova campus-it's in the shopping center affiliated with the school. It's not a large establishment. But they have a very large beer selection with good specials for happy hour and later into the night. Multiple times I've gotten $5 long islands well after happy hour. My only beef is that if you sit at the tables-make sure your waiter is attentive because they can go AWOL. The food is pretty good here too. Typical bar food, but the chicken strips, onion rings, etc, are delish. I have also had some of their desserts at a friend's birthday and remember it being really good. We come here periodically for random drinking nights and often for post games (after events) and will continue to do so. It's a good environment to being groups to. read more

Hey now! If you haven't been you gotta go. This place has been here forever it seems. I absolutely love the food here. You would be surprised at how many choices they have on their menu. You can go easy with a burger or wings or get creative and go for some delicious saganaki! They have a great bar area and pool tables. What I really like anout the place is it's smoke free until 11 pm! Nice! Place is clean, staff friendly, food good at reasonable prices. Definitely check out the cave bathroom if you go! Since when is it acceptable for a staff member to chastise a customer ??? Sat at the bar this past Saturday , had cheery female bartender/waitress. Several open barstools, several open tables... not that busy. Ordered a beer , wings & onion rings . Finished first beer , ordered another.Almost done with se one beer, no food. Told waitress/bartender I'd pay for my drink and that the food had already taken too long , forget about it. Next thing I know a guy who seemingly was manager/bartender was in my face " really buddy ?, twelve and a half minutes is too long ?" It was easily 15 or more minutes (?how long does it take to drop onion rings in the deep fryer?) Just as I was reaching for my wallet the food appeared . I was indeed hungry ,and I didn't want to look like the bad guy.So yeah I ate the food. Oddly enough ,when the sweetheart bartender/waitress first understood , my side , she said they'd comp. one of my beers.......... which didn't happen. The more I thought about the male manager/bartenders act,the more it perturbed me. The tact,tone,&,demeanor just utterly wrong. I live in Sunrise. I used to have no reservation driving to the old location. But count me in as one of many ,who,feel the experience at the new location,is almost like fallin off the cliff. And the drive. Now ain't worth it. Understandably can't replicate the look and feel. The wings aren't the same. But above all else ,the staff,the customer service is abysmal,were it once was a draw. I'd like to start by saying we (as a family) have been coming to Geronimos for 20 years. We were there the last night of the old location and the opening of the new location. We've held family get togethers here of 10+ people time and time again (Graduations, birthdays, celebrations, reunions). With that being said, since the new location has opened, the service has PLUMMETED. We've been multiple times in hopes that it would get better but have been let down numerous times to the point now in which we will not return. We were not approached by our waitress at all after we received our food tonight and sat with empty glasses for at least 15 minutes until we flagged down another waiter. It takes a lot for me to get on here and write a review but this is multiple poor experiences at the new location. Hopefully they get their act together. read more

Walked in the restaurant sat at the bar and did not have anyone attend me for over 10 minutes...ended up walking out. There were approximately 10-15 patrons in the establishment at that time. There was only one woman bartender who was attending to the two registers for a very long extended time touch screening the whole time. She would attend to four guys on the other side of the bar briefly and 5 people to the right of me who had an infant baby in a carrier on a stool at the bar. I've been coming here for 4 years straight. I do every football Sunday whenever I'm in town. This is seriously the best bar food you will find. Great variety of noms, including unbelievable wings (get them grilled and hot) and a respectable beer selection (Maybe 20 on top, tons of specialty in bottle?)
