Staff: They were really nice here. Quality/Quantity: The food was very tasty at this spot. We were having a really late lunch (2:30) so we were pretty hungry. We had a hot dog and 3 hamburgers. Hot dog - this was a very good. Hamburger/ huge, juicy, packed full of vegetables, and a tasty sauce. Value - It was fair Overall: The one thing that would elevate to a 5 star is shorter food time. It took 45 mins for our food. Now they have a sign saying they were short staffed and it was a holiday weekend but still feel that 45 mins is a long time. No matter what we really enjoyed the food and will be back for sure. read more

2/23/26 We were greeted warmly and the woman at the cashier was extremely nice as well. However, as we were sitting down waiting for our food, we noticed none of the employees wearing gloves at all. Extremely unsanitary. The lettuce, meat, bread, everything was touched with bare hands and numerous employees. Some even had Apple Watch bands. When we addressed the concern to the manager, she tried reassuring that they wash their hands "very frequently"...doesn't seem as a valid excuse to not wear gloves, or wear accessories on your wrists and fingers. Saw multiple workers touch veggies and meat without washing hands in between steps. Violated health code in every single way. Owner was gracious enough to not give us a hassle and refunded us. Girl at the cashier was nice as well. Bummer we couldn't enjoy the full experience. read more

Glorified frozen food. Burgers are frozen patties and the "secret sauce" tastes like a thousand island knock off. The only redeeming part of this burger is the bun. Fries and tater tots have a weird hue. Not sure if it's old oil or old food. After all the stellar reviews we were truly disappointed to waist our money at this tourist trap. read more

Perhaps the worst experience we've had with food in BB. I was so excited to try this place, and gave them the benefit of the doubt as far as "low staffing" and "wait for high quality food" posted all over the interior of the store... So. We waited....and waited, and waited... It ended up being closer to 40 minutes before we got food, and when we did- it tasted like it had been sitting out for the length of time we waited for food to be ready. The service didn't seem to have any drive while making food, instead chatting with a nearby worker (who was literally behind in the kitchen with staff, mind you) asking what they could make him. The name of the store should be: DO NOT Get The Burger. You're better off at Carl's Jr or McDonalds (which is ironic, because inside the store there's a sign that says if you want "fast food" go there)!! read more

We were there earlier today and the service was not good at all. I gave them one star because it's the lowest I can give. First it took 40 minutes to get our order, two sandwiches. No reason to take that long. When we got the order, the food was cold. To top it off, when we return the food, did not ask for a refund, as we are leaving the parking lot, I believe the manager or owner, came out and started cursing at us. Saying the "F" word and telling us that we were not welcome to go back. No worries, we don't plan on it. The food was horrible, and of course the service was even worst. The manager topped it off. I was literally afraid of him. Thought he was going to go after our car. The way he was screaming at us. Dear Owner, it's a real review. You were the aggressor coming outside. I felt threatened by you and you just proved it your response. We did nothing wrong, except returned the food. You must be having a bad day. read more

You go in it's gives quaint diner vibes. The service is friendly like you went to a family cookout. But the star of the show is their food. Their burgers are picture perfect. The John Wayne which comes with bacon, onion rings and jalapeños was loaded. After a full day on the mountain this is the food you want. Hamburgers and hot dogs here, one of our favorite stop in big bear. Service is fast considering this place gets busy, there is seating area inside and outside. Parking can be hard to find. Kids love the burgers and fries and the sauces, my favorite is the Chicago dog with sweet potato fries and the jalapeño sauce. we were a group of ten very cheap to feed the entire crew. read more

Great burgers! Great pickle fries and sweet potato fries! I didn't realize the cashier didn't hear my order for sweet potato fries. When the server brought the order, the receipt didn't have the fries. The sweet server (Lynn ?, I think?), offered to fry some up, "it'll only take two minutes, eat while your food is hot". She promptly showed up with hot sweet potato fries! A lovely and much appreciated service! We will be back on our next visit! read more

Service was great. Friendly staff. We're in town for the 4th and in the mood for burgers. Hubby & kids got the leading man burger and enjoyed them. Kids got shakes and those were good too! 4 out of 5 - I will return and would recommend. Really, really great burgers and fries. Only thing preventing 5 stars was a mistake regarding whether or not sauce/mayo comes on the burger, so I had to avoid half the bun/toppings. If they nail it next time I'll edit the review! read more

Very very slow service. We were second in line when they opened their doors. We waited 40 minutes for 2 hotdogs and hamburger. Multiple families who ordered after us got their food faster than we did. Staff Shortage is not excuse in this case. Sorry! We did not get explanation what made the order so late. Nobody on the kitchen is wearing gloves. Making and wrapping your food with bare hands. You just have to trust they are clean. The guy who brought orders out was continuously touching and fixing his hair. No gloves no hands wash was noticed after that. Was favorite spot, never again now. Disappointed read more

If you need a giant, sloppy burger quickly, definitely grab one from Get the Burger. We had a to go order and it didn't take too long. It has kind of an older diner type vibe if you want to sit in, but it was nice to bring a big solid burger and fries home. read more

We came here after the lunch crowd, shortly past 2pm with our kids. While I am always a fan of anything not "fast food" this was... not good. We waited 2 1/2 hours for our food. It was for three kids and two adults. Yes, you read that correctly- two and a half hours. Perhaps we were foolish to wait and should have demanded money back, we did not because we kept thinking it can't be that much longer. My children made it through by the power of YouTube videos but it was dicey and we were all very hangry at the 2 hour mark. The food was good, or was I just so starving at that point that any food would have seemed like a gift from above? Possibly. It was a good burger but no food should take that long to make and serve. Maybe I went on an off day, who knows? But I want to warn any parents ahead of time, just in case... it was a rough road to get the burgers for us. read more

We've eaten here many times and always look forward to coming back. We were shocked to see some of the negative reviews. Honestly, anyone who doesn't like this place must not know what a good burger is. We came for lunch today right after they opened and had our hot, perfectly cooked burgers in just 8 minutes. I got the Duke and my husband got the John Wayne--both were 10/10. Easily some of the best burgers we've ever had. What a perfect burger joint!! Service was friendly, and it was great to chat with staff while ordering. The Director burgers were top notch "classic" - just the right amount of dressing, leaving plenty of ability for the burger and toppings to be the star. The fries were amazing. The pickle fries (stress the "pickle!" when ordering) were perfectly battered - think onion ring- and just the right length to mimic a traditional fry. The ambiance itself is comfortable, take some time to enjoy the mural, classic checkered flooring and diner seats. Definitely recommend !! read more

What a good place to have lunch, their burgers are great starting from the burger bun to the perfectly made onion rings. I can tell the owner have a sense of humor from the murals on the wall to the signs posted. Another thing I have to say is that I forgot my purse at this restaurant after lunch. I realized it 15 minutes later when we were at our next stop. Our families passports were in it and I'm so grateful that the restaurant held it for me. Everyone from the staff to the clients that frequent this place are just amazing and honest. We will stop by for lunch here again the next time we are in big bear. read more

Oh man idk how I drove by this place so many damn times and never stopped, this place is 10/10! Such a good cheesy a$$ burger, get the Director and call it day, I tried the Duke it was so good but the Director had it beat forsure. Fries and onion rings were also really good! I'm giving it five star for the food. I just don't have the patience to wait 25 minutes after ordering to eat. It could go up to two hours if busy. You can't really go there for a lunch hour. Once again, the food is excellent. The wait totally sucks. read more

Get The Burger is the culmination of the dreams of Eric & Lynn Schwartz that started in 1995 in their backyard. This restaurant means the Big Bear Valley can now get their famous burgers (in Big Bear) anytime, not just at local Chamber of Commerce functions & fundraisers. After their opening run in Big Bear City, Get The Burger was able to re-open in Big Bear Lake. When you eat your first burger you'll know what all the talk is about. Eric and his wife Lynn came to Big Bear in 1982 as marketing director of a little ski area named Snow Forest.In 1983 Eric introduced snowboarding to the San Bernardino National Forest by being the first ski area to allow them.Eric became involved in the community as a Vice President on the board of the Chamber of Commerce.While serving he tried to get the famous restuarant chain In N Out to come to Big Bear.When they declined to come to Big Bear Eric took matters into his own hands and began what would become a 15 year journey to what has now become known as "Get the Burger"

The only decent service of the night. Another plus was food did not take too long, but the dishes were nothing worth returning for. The staff who came to take plates spoke to us with an irritated attitude. Not sure if the poor service had to do with the diversity in our group, but it sure felt like it. Not a positive experience in the slightest.

Order from the window and take your food to eat out on the back patio. The menu is different from what you can find on these Yelp menu photos so expect the prices to be a lot higher than two years ago, but prices are way higher everywhere from two years ago. I ordered a one item plate w two sides thinking I might not have ordered enough food but boy was I wrong. The sides portions are huge, the cornbread is huge, and the meat filled me up. The beans here are a spicy chili bean type that went great on top of the corn bread. The slaw was very good and the mac n cheese was reminiscent of kraft mac n cheese only w/ the addition of pepper and a sharper cheese flavor giving it a memorable taste. The potato salad was decent, potatoes prolly coulda been cooked a tiny bit longer but the rest of the salad tasted good. The star of the show was the brisket. You will get a slice or two near the end that might be cooked thru a little too much for my liking but the majority of what you get is melt in your mouth deliciousness. The honey mustard sauce they offer is perfect to dip the well done slices in but the juicy slices go great unassisted. I originally picked this spot because the other popular bbq spot nearby didn't open until 3 but I am glad I picked this spot because the food left me satisfied for the rest of the day and left me w a smile on my face afterwards.

When you walk in, you stand in a line to order your food off a screen, and they call your name when your order is ready. There are QR codes so you can order a drink while waiting and you'll be entertained by the quirky surfer bro who's calling out names when people's drinks are ready. Everyone is donned with Hawaiian shirts and look genuinely happy to work there. There's a big outdoor patio with those peach umbrella covers to provide some shade, as well as seating inside. It kinda feels like you're in Disneyland because there's so much decor and so many things to look at. While waiting to order food, I ordered the island style cold brew with macadamia nut milk. It was good! We also got a tropical gangster, a frozen drink with passion orange and guava and it was the perfect drink to sip on for a hot day. For food, we got the pele poke bowl and the cabo poke bowls. The portions weren't big, they come in small bowls, and you're paying about $20 each for them, but they were surprisingly good. Honestly, I'd live in this restaurant if I could -- the decor is off the charts, and the creativity and homey feel are unmatched. I heard it started out as a tiny shack, and seeing what it's grown into makes total sense once you experience the place for yourself. Then, while waiting for the check, I made the mistake of reading the one-star reviews. Now I *had* to leave one. Yes, the food isn't served at lightning speed. Ours wasn't either. And you know what? It was worth every minute. This is a small, family-run restaurant--not a corporate chain with an army of cooks hidden behind swinging kitchen doors. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, tasted homemade, and arrived hot and fresh. The staff was warm, welcoming, and working incredibly hard. As a bonus, they're genuinely dog-friendly. We were able to enjoy breakfast with our pup on the patio, and they even have a dog menu. That's not just "dogs allowed"--that's a business that goes the extra mile. Somewhere along the way we've confused "not instant" with "bad service." We expect fresh, made-to-order food from small businesses to appear with fast-food timing, then punish them when it doesn't. Patience has become a lost art. If you're in a hurry, there are plenty of drive-thrus. If you want an outstanding breakfast, friendly people, a place that welcomes your dog as warmly as it welcomes you, and food that's worth waiting for, Broadway Cafe is absolutely deserving of its reputation. Perhaps unorganized in the kitchen or slow in production. This isn't merely just waiting but the fact that your own staff told us different wait times. We did wait. We waited according to your instructions and schedule. We were told many different wait times every time we followed up and asked. The time kept getting longer and longer when there were no other parties waiting but us. First we were told 30mins, then literally minutes later it changed. Then an additional 20mins added. Then, 30. Then we waited, and it changed again. They kept telling us it would be longer and longer. Why would the time go backwards? A small gilled cheese sandwich for an hour? One order. You can ask any business owner or any place outside of your small town that it is a ridiculous wait time for a customer to wait for that long for one small sandwich. Instead of arguing back with your customers, a decent thing to do would have been to apologize and just have accommodated the sandwich just for having us almost an hour of waiting without even getting in. A true business owner wouldn't have responded in how you did. Not only horrible service, but bad ownership practices so I see where it reflects poorly.

Although the wait can be a bit they are super fast. I had the waffle combo the second time we went. delicious. Had a bite the first time and just had to come back for it again. Also had the sausage patty. OMG this was next level. Biscuits and gravy were also delicious. My daughter liked the waffle as well. My son and his wife liked the enormous pancake! (Two of the adults are in their 80's mind you.) We're really hungry lol. Two 4 seater tables finally open up in this tiny place. A small family of 3 shows up and knows the hostess (pixie haircut and piercings, don't know her name but can't miss her.) she waves them in and gets them one of the 4 seaters, no wait for friends I guess! 2 minutes later a third 4 seater opens up in the same row but she sat her friends at the one right in the middle. So they call our name and then tell us we have to separate our family to get seated and take the two 4 seaters on opposite ends of the table they gave away. They don't give a (insert your favorite curse word here). I guess it's okay though because they warn you on their menu that the staff might be moody lol! A great scapegoat for terrible service. Never again. Here's a tip to anyone reading: go literally 1 minute west down the road and eat at the first restaurant you see. They were phenomenal!
