What a great place! The food was absolutely awesome, fresh, and delicious with several great options. Love that the menu items are movie themed. I ordered the "Codfather" and it was SO good! The onion rings are beyond great. AND - the service! We had a small dog with us so we sat in the patio area and one of the employees (may have even been the owner) immediately brought us a bowl of water for our pet! Great place to eat, when in Big Bear. The burgers were good and the sides were outstanding. We made a pit stop here, following our few hours at Snow Play and enjoyed our lunch. The wife and youngest split a burger and I enjoyed their giant Chicago dog. The sides were nice and hot and seemed to have been freshly made. Probably the best part of the meal, besides the Chicago dog was the sweet potato bits, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A very simple exterior belie a beautiful interior. The beautiful murals on the walls add whimsy and color to a not fast-food restaurant giving something to glance at for the wait of your meal. The service was polite, helpfully explaining any questions about the menu and their special items. The food is excellent. I had the Duke, a burger with bacon, BBQ sauce, and an onion ring. The BBQ sauce was sweet but not overly so with the bacon and onion rings providing a great crunch (even smothered in sauce). The buns were nice and supple and the patty and cheese were great as well. Along with the Duke I had their new special fried cheese balls. The five were a honey and cheddar cheese mix with pretzel crumb exterior served with one of three sauces. The spicy sauce that I chose had a great kick with a rich creamy taste reminiscent of ketchup and mayo based sauces. In short a delicious pairing to the cheese balls. The "leading lady" burger was excellent. The lettuce and tomato were very fresh. The grilled onions are a great addition to the burger. They nicely cut it in half for us to share. They used a bit more sauce than I usually have, but it was good. The fries were hot and quite tasty. The vanilla shake was just ok in our opinion. Seemed a bit thin, and tasted more like ice milk. The ambiance is great with cute murals on the walls. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. They mention on the menu that everything is grilled to order and that they are not a fast food place, and they weren't kidding. It was worth the wait though. The food was that good. When we addressed the concern to the manager, she tried reassuring that they wash their hands "very frequently"...doesn't seem as a valid excuse to not wear gloves, or wear accessories on your wrists and fingers.
